00:09:56.680 police officer got very violent with somebody. And the Calgary counselors are jumping all over this as

00:10:05.960 get too violent. But do you think that humiliating police all the time, cutting their budget, doing all these

00:10:11.280 other things is what's going to make them better? Do you really think so? Who are you going to call when

00:10:16.320 the violent person is trying to break into your house? Who's going to break up that domestic dispute? How does a

00:10:21.260 business owner get a belligerent drunk out of their place who's assaulting other customers? You call

00:10:24.960 the police and they have to deal with it. And it's not easy. And they also see some terrible scenes.

00:11:39.900 it's terrible. They need a flush from top to bottom. And they're trying to stunt discussion. We're going

00:11:51.120 incumbent city councillors that may undercut their run. This is when they'll suddenly pretend

00:11:55.420 to be fiscal conservatives again. They pretend to be responsible. Pretend to be all the things

00:13:33.060 really coy about whether he wants to run again. The reality is he's dipping his toe in the water.

00:13:38.040 I mean, the man makes two pensions. He's the highest paid mayor in Canada. What, $200,000 and some

00:13:42.500 thousand a year plus a raft of benefits. Two pensions. Literally two pensions. He doesn't want

00:13:47.700 to give that job up. But the polls are also showing that he very well might lose that job. Now his pride

00:13:52.480 is the only thing bigger than a number of things on him. And he doesn't want to lose

00:13:57.320 an election. That would be a big shot to his pride. But then if he leaves now, he loses that

00:14:01.380 pension and those big numbers. It's not like there's a big pile of jobs that pay that well

00:14:04.840 waiting for him out there. Plus, people will realize he just ran away rather than win his

00:14:08.680 seat back. Farkas came along and gave him a good run for his money. And when the going got 0.90

00:14:14.420 tough, Nenshi got going. But it's going to be an ugly election one way or another.

00:14:18.640 Speaking of shutting down debate. So the NDP are playing political games. This one was

00:14:34.840 really want to screw with the other party. They put a motion out on private members thing

00:14:39.660 to basically force the entire government to get up and decry support for independence within

00:14:45.720 Alberta or Alberta within Canada. It's a loaded question, a loaded thing to ask them

00:14:52.320 to do. It was a way to make some of the MLAs who are more supportive of independence movements

00:14:57.260 and motions stand out from the others and possibly cause infighting. So again, from a Machiavellian

00:15:02.240 unprincipled perspective, it is a very good way to cause some division.

00:15:08.520 Kenny, you know, it looks like they managed to kill the debate by burying it in the order

00:15:12.040 of papers. So I mean, hey, if you're going to start with political games, don't bitch 1.00

00:15:14.340 when they use political mechanisms to kill the motion. And then Kenny slamming the NDP

00:15:19.880 for insulting the independence movement. I would say that's a standard headline. And

00:15:23.840 that's, I'm guessing that's what he was kind of saying. Well, the thing is, because you've

00:15:27.140 got over a quarter or more and growing of Albertans who do support that. And they don't

00:15:31.700 want to see themselves shamed and have a legislature where it's actually been shut down, the debate's

00:15:37.300 not allowed. And then motions like that from Notley come out and say, we can't even

00:15:40.580 talk about that point of view that 25% or more Albertans are moving towards. Again,

00:15:46.760 non-democratic, the usual left thing, though. Shut up differing voices. Don't try to debate 0.99

00:15:50.860 them. Don't try to beat them in a fair process. Just try to shut them up through hysterics

00:15:56.140 and so on. But don't expect any less out of former Premier Notley. She has hit her peak,

00:16:27.940 for that. But Trudeau's crappy popularity is not Kinney's fault. And I wish the Alberta government

00:16:37.800 was solely responsible for that. I think that would be a great thing for us to celebrate as

00:16:41.000 Albertans. Look at that. We are responsible for Trudeau's lagging popularity. Unfortunately,

00:16:45.460 in central Canada, he's still terribly popular anyway. So this isn't much for him to worry about.

00:16:50.380 But to blame the Alberta government for it? Man, that's a whole new level of pathetic even 0.99
