00:00:59.760 Where new and innovative businesses are flourishing with plastic-free alternatives.
00:01:05.640 And where plastic producers are more accountable for their waste and the amount of recycled content in their products.
00:01:11.700 This is within reach.
00:01:14.500 We can do this. We've done it before.
00:01:17.520 But we need everyone on board for this to be a lasting solution.
00:01:22.260 Governments, Indigenous people, civil society, industry, finance sector, academia, and youth.

00:01:52.100 We helped to launch the Ocean Plastic Charter during Canada's 2018 G7 presidency.
00:01:57.300 We introduced a domestic ban on harmful single-use plastics.
00:02:00.820 We're implementing a comprehensive plan to reduce plastic waste and pollution.
00:02:04.620 And today, I'm excited to announce a new federal plastic registry, which will increase transparency and help make producers responsible.
