Hey all, welcome to a special test episode of Triggered.
00:00:52.800
That's why this wasn't advertised, why it's just sort of popped up.
00:00:55.440
those folks who might have caught uh our earlier episode today we're doing a daily show this is our
00:01:00.920
first week of kicking it off and our internet connection decided during the show to just go
00:01:05.780
into the toilet uh it was painful for the listeners i apologize again for those people who had to try
00:01:10.760
and sit through that uh but we are now just basically we got i got some great guests lined
00:01:15.720
up tomorrow it's going to be a good show we want to make sure our gear is up and working so i
00:01:19.560
appreciate that you guys coming on actually just to help out at this point so we know uh if anybody
00:01:24.500
wants to comment even let me know if your sound is coming in clearly if the picture is coming in
00:01:28.080
clearly we want to get this problem fixed so we can keep making good shows and so far I think it
00:01:33.880
looks pretty good though it's difficult to tell from our end it was agonizing earlier so part of
00:01:39.440
it I'm going to do a short little test rant though on something I we've gone over this a lot in the
00:01:43.660
municipal politics in the past and some of the other things those people familiar with the name
00:01:47.160
Kevin J. Johnston, the pretty prolific and moderately crazed activist who came from Ontario
00:01:55.000
into Alberta, ran for mayor, managed to get himself arrested and charged and sued and
00:02:00.860
brought before human rights commissions and things all across the country, decided to skip out on his
00:02:06.200
weekend sentences and try to walk across the border into Montana the other day. Probably lucky
00:02:11.040
he didn't freeze to death. They probably saved his life by arresting him. He put a statement out. He
00:02:16.620
He said, I entered the United States with the intention of seeking political asylum
00:02:19.920
due to the treatment he's experienced in the last five years
00:02:22.320
because of political persecution by the Canadian government.
00:02:25.760
Now, he says he's been had to appear in court over 266 times.
00:02:32.360
But, you know, maybe you should start learning.
00:02:35.880
and the government certainly isn't respecting freedom a lot.
00:02:38.820
But this guy has brought most of this on himself.
00:02:44.260
his last statement was saying, being marked for death in my own country was the final straw.
00:02:49.500
That's when I knew I had to leave. Realistically, look, the guy needs help. I mean, I think some
00:02:56.280
medication, some therapy, some other things. He might make a valid points on some of his
00:03:00.340
anti-lockdown stuff, but he's way over the top, but he's made the news again. But part of what
00:03:04.880
I want to cover, what a lot of people talked about when he was running for mayor. And I heard
00:03:10.460
people saying this guy shouldn't be allowed to run for mayor. Wait a minute, wait a minute there.
00:03:14.680
See, democracy means letting everybody run. It really does. And as you can tell, I don't think
00:03:18.220
a lot of Mr. Johnston, but he had every right to run. And I trust the voters. I can live with
00:03:25.840
their judgment on who they pick. They picked Gondek right now. I can't stand her. I think
00:03:28.980
it's a terrible choice, but they chose her. And that's what we got to live with. And Kevin J.
00:03:32.460
Johnston, after all that noise, all those people saying he shouldn't be allowed to run,
00:03:35.640
came in with 0.4% in his run for mayor. The voters spoke. They spoke clearly. The guy was
00:03:45.080
never a threat of ending up on the mayor's chair. We still ended up with a terrible mayor. It would
00:03:49.320
have been very entertaining, perhaps, if Mr. Johnston was the mayor, but he's probably still
00:03:53.660
not the best person for the job. But he did give me an opportunity right now to speak to the issue
00:03:59.460
of democracy. I believe everybody should be allowed to run, no matter what people think,
00:04:03.240
going to let the voters decide. And they decided it quite clearly there. Unfortunately, yeah, a lot
00:04:08.260
of them decided on Gondek as well. So I'm keeping it fairly brief today. I'm probably, I'm trying to
00:04:13.100
get Linda Slobodian on tomorrow for an interview as well. For those, again, who caught the last
0.73
00:04:16.940
show, I'm going to have Shane Wenzel from Shane Holmes on. He's going to talk about the housing
00:04:21.240
market and some of this proposed equity tax insanity and things like that. I've got a school
00:04:25.460
teacher from Alberta who's going to talk about what the masking mandates and other pressures
00:04:30.540
have been put on to the students that she's very concerned about. Like not every teacher
00:04:34.100
supports the NDP union line, you know, some of them just want to speak up for those students
00:04:38.360
that they're entrusted with. So it'll be nice talking with her. And yes, if I get Linda on,
00:04:43.740
she wrote the column about our state broadcaster, the CBC, actually paying to have activists,
00:04:51.740
I mean, extreme activists working the blockades at the coastal gas link blockade where they
00:04:57.300
blocked in a bunch of oil workers. This is what our tax dollars are going towards. That's what
00:05:01.100
they call media. These extremely biased, illegal activists. They got arrested. Two of them got
00:05:06.400
arrested. Why? Because they couldn't tell the difference between those guys and the blockaders.
00:05:09.680
Why couldn't they tell the difference? Because they're the same. These were activists. It's just
00:05:12.840
they were being paid and suddenly we're calling them journalists. So we're going to have a good
00:05:16.920
show tomorrow. I hope to get Linda on. If not, I'll certainly speak to it. Other aspects, things I
0.99
00:05:22.420
didn't get to in the earlier show. I appreciate those people, the patience. I see Marilyn came
00:05:26.100
back. Thank you. It's going to be a good show. Email me cmorgan at westernstandardonline.com
00:05:33.220
if you've got show ideas, topic ideas, guest ideas. I want this to be interactive, this show
00:05:37.820
as we develop it. I want it to be the stuff you want to hear, and we'll go back and forth. We
00:05:42.520
won't always agree on things, but I want to cover those subjects, and that's what these
00:05:46.880
interactive live sort of shows are about. The unfortunate thing is with live, of course, we
00:05:51.400
get some of those technical difficulties that I'm still so embarrassed about that happened earlier
00:05:54.500
today, but it's our learning curve. It's our first week. Uh, we got a lot of good shows coming up in
00:06:00.220
the future. So I'll let you guys go. Thank you all for taking part in the test. It sounds like I've
00:06:04.020
been coming in good for sound and, uh, yeah, my face is still clear enough. I think I need to
00:06:08.660
shave. That's about it. I will see you tomorrow morning at 1130. We're going to have a great show.
