00:11:00.000 .
00:11:30.000 hi greetings from cypress hills saskatchewan i'm i'm brad wall you know i hope it's not lost on us
00:11:44.720 that the precious few examples of action positive action from the liberal government
00:11:50.960 a couple of examples of gst on new homes and very significant for those of us in saskatchewan who
00:12:02.560 fought the carbon tax from day one the end of the consumer facing carbon tax these examples
00:12:10.480 underscore the point that in the run-up to the last election and during the campaign
00:12:14.880 we had from peter pauliev and his team principled conservative leadership offering principled
00:12:22.720 conservative policies that were aimed at affordability that were aimed at economic
00:12:28.400 competitiveness and when it was all said and done obviously the end result wasn't what we all wanted
00:12:36.320 but it was as close as we've been in many elections under pierre pauliev's conservative
00:12:43.200 leadership his principled conservative leadership the party achieved more electoral success than it
00:12:48.800 had in a very long time that's why we as a party are in a good position right now that's why i
00:12:57.120 believe as a party we need to continue to offer the same kind of leadership the same kind of
00:13:03.840 principled conservative alternatives the same ideas around affordability the same ideas around
00:13:10.080 the economic health of our country and we need to do it effectively as mr pauliev has done to date
00:13:17.120 to garner more and more support until we get to that conservative election win
00:13:24.720 in real change and much needed change for this country
00:13:33.280 hello fellow conservatives we are at a very important moment in our party right now our
00:13:39.120 party needs a leader who is a true authentic conservative and also a masterful political
00:13:44.800 operative somebody who can communicate clearly think strategically and connect with how canadians
00:13:50.960 are really feeling we have that person in pierre paulia pierre has one of the sharpest political
00:13:57.120 minds in the country he knows how to craft a message that resonates and he understands the
00:14:02.560 hard work and the commitment that it takes to win he doesn't feel entitled to the job and that's
00:14:08.000 really important because we are in a tough fight and there's no magic wand to use a hockey analogy
00:14:14.720 Pierre is our best enforcer and he's also our best goal scorer and Pierre knows how to be which one
00:14:22.720 in order to win just as importantly Pierre knows how to surround himself and is surrounding himself
00:14:28.800 with other leaders who will bring out the best in him who will complement his strengths and
00:14:33.840 bring him balance without hesitation i support pierre polyam he is the right person to lead our
00:14:39.920 party and to lead our country as you know i have served each one of our leaders as both a member
00:14:45.280 of parliament and like many of you as a volunteer so my opinion comes with some experience i support
00:14:52.000 pierre i ask you to do the same hello to conservatives from across canada my name is
00:15:01.920 is Avi Khan and I am the leader of the Manitoba Progressive Conservative Party. The threats
00:15:07.280 and challenges facing Canada at this moment are substantial. We are facing issues that
00:15:12.200 are unheard of in a modern democracy. But Pierre is a fighter. He will not quit. He
00:15:18.080 works hard for Canadians. He works hard for single parents, children and people who simply
00:15:23.520 need a chance in life. Manitobans believe in a united Canada and leadership that stands
00:15:29.780 up for canadian families farmers and small businesses together with pierre as our leader
00:15:36.740 we must work to put canada back on track to build a stronger future for canadian families
00:15:42.500 and all future generations
00:15:49.300 bonjour mes amis i'm retired lieutenant general michel maisonneuve and i'm happy to be here with
00:15:54.740 you at our conservative convention today i'm angry though that canada is still a mess after 11 years
00:16:01.380 of liberal rule and the future is bleak mark carney reminds me of an obama version two all
00:16:07.780 talk and travel but no action we need our conservative party to remain united and that
00:16:13.700 starts at the top pierre poilievre is our leader and he is the leader that canada needs today
00:16:19.460 He has shown he's a warrior who will not give up, and I know he can put Canada on the right path.
00:16:26.460 As you've seen in polls, young Canadians have come to understand it, and they are behind him 100%.
00:16:33.460 And so it's time for all of us Conservatives to recognize this and to silence the doubters.
00:17:05.360 united under pierre's leadership we can show that we are ready to govern to fix our country with
00:17:11.200 concrete results and to retake our place as a strong power in the world let's bring hope
00:17:17.200 back to all canadians by standing united behind pierre poilier i strongly believe
00:17:22.880 that he is the prime minister we need right now merci beaucoup
00:17:26.800 hello everyone peter mckay here in nova scotia and i'm very sorry i can't be with you in
00:17:36.720 calgary alberta for the big shindig and the conservative convention this weekend
00:17:42.120 but i wanted to share a few words about my friend pierre pauliev the leader of our party
00:17:48.300 somebody who i've known for over 25 years i've seen pierre as a parliamentarian of course in
00:17:54.340 the House of Commons. I've seen him all around the country and over the last
00:17:58.420 number of years as our leader, I know he's been working extremely hard to make
00:18:02.340 the case to Canadians. And Canada, make no mistake, is Pierre's cause. He's
00:18:07.420 passionate about politics, representation, and wanting to govern in a way that will
00:18:12.940 bring our country to its greatness, to its potential, to the prosperity that
00:18:17.200 Canadians should enjoy. You know, I think we all need to remember that in spite of
00:18:23.100 loss in the last election there were tremendous gains made both in seat count and popularity and
00:18:29.340 we came so close and the policies themselves could not have been wrong because we've seen
00:18:35.180 the government basically borrow every policy that uh that has been successful the difference being
00:18:42.940 that they don't implement them they only announce them we need the real deal we need authentic
00:18:48.700 leadership and that's what pier represents pierre has truly become one of the most effective leaders
00:18:55.980 of the opposition that i have ever seen he prosecutes the government in a fair and factual
00:19:01.260 way but that's not the job that we need him in and i remind us all that in 2004 under the leadership
00:19:09.020 of stephen harper we lost that election and of course it was disappointing and many were throwing
00:19:15.340 criticism and shade at stephen harper the same way that we're seeing it directed towards pierre
00:19:21.420 but stephen harper went on to become one of the best prime ministers our country has ever had
00:19:26.620 and i believe here has that same potential here is is somebody who is going to bring forward
00:19:34.060 policies in the resource sector with respect to criminal justice initiatives which i'm very
00:19:38.780 passionate about and he's somebody who i believe has the greatest potential to bring our country
00:19:44.940 back and so this leadership review is extremely important i believe that pierre will do what
00:19:53.420 stephen harper did and that is emerge victorious in the next election and take our country to a
00:19:59.820 better place and so i wish you all the very best in calgary this weekend i wish i could be there
00:20:06.380 I hope to see you all again soon.
00:20:15.480 Hi, everyone.
00:20:16.440 I am so proud of our conservative movement
00:20:18.560 and so proud of our leader, Pierre.
00:20:21.220 Every day he fights for a Canada
00:20:23.320 where everyone has a chance to succeed.
00:20:26.360 It's time we show Canadians that we will never give up
00:20:29.580 and that they can count on us
00:20:31.120 by uniting behind our leader,
00:20:33.040 a fighter who takes every challenge head-on.
00:20:36.500 We will show Canadians that we can bring change to this great country.
00:20:45.100 I want to take a moment to speak to Conservatives from across Canada.
00:20:49.080 You know as well as I, being a Conservative isn't always the easy path, but it's the right one.
00:20:54.480 Our principles rooted in freedom, hard work, and personal responsibility
00:20:58.220 don't let us bend or break, chasing what's popular in the moment.
00:21:01.900 They ground and anchor us to do what's right and what's true.
00:21:05.960 As Conservatives, we expect our leaders to stay true to these values
00:21:08.920 while acting in the best interest of all Canadians.
00:21:11.760 To do so, take strong leadership.
00:21:13.820 Leadership with moral clarity, with a plan to restore Canada's economic leadership,
00:21:17.840 to return Canada to an international economic engine,
00:21:20.920 a stalwart defender of global freedom,
00:21:23.040 and a place that holds true to the promise that if you work hard, you can get ahead.
00:21:27.060 That is exactly the kind of leadership the Conservative Party of Canada has
00:21:30.720 under Pierre Polyev. Pierre is not just a friend, a father and a proud Canadian. He is a champion
00:21:37.440 of our beliefs. When the going gets tough, we've seen time and time again Pierre Polyev doesn't
00:21:42.560 flinch. He charges forward to do what is right for Canadians. Principled leadership is a rare
00:21:47.760 commodity. Pierre embodies it and he has my full unwavering support to continue leading
00:21:52.800 the Conservative Party of Canada. I ask you to join me and let's finish what we started.
00:22:00.720 Thank you.
00:22:30.720 Good evening everybody, how is everybody feeling tonight?
00:22:50.400 I think we can do a little bit better than that.
00:22:53.800 How is everybody feeling tonight?
00:23:01.800 It is so good to be here together as one Conservative family.
00:23:09.800 It feels so good.
00:23:11.800 I am Sandra Cobena, a proud Conservative Member of Parliament for New Market Aurora.
00:23:23.800 I'm Gaetan Mallette, Conservative Member of Parliament for the riding of Kappes Kaysing,
00:23:39.040 Timmins and Mushkigawa.
00:23:46.340 We are two new Conservative Members of Parliament from distinct ridings.
00:23:53.280 both writings represented key flips from the Liberals and the NDP to the Conservatives.
00:24:13.200 My writing is made from two writings, both of which were held by the New Democrats.
00:24:18.560 My riding is a merger of two ridings which are both held by the NDP.
00:24:28.560 The traditional NDP territory with much of either riding not being won by Conservatives in decades, with some not ever.
00:24:37.560 It's fair to say that this is a blue collar riding full of people who work hard and believe in Canada and everything that this country has to offer.
00:24:48.560 But they recognize that now the Conservative Party under Pierre Poilievre is the only party that represents that hope for the future of Canada.
00:25:07.560 Pierre spoke to them directly.
00:25:10.560 He spoke to their beliefs in hard work and in the amazing project that is this country.
00:25:16.560 and they believe in him he let me tell you a quick story member of parliament
00:25:23.460 I was running to unseat was Charlie Angus of the NDP
00:25:30.620 he held the event he held an event in Kirkland Lake one evening which brought
00:25:36.160 just 18 people out the next day we had or we held a meet-and-greet with
00:25:43.400 that blew the doors off the town we were hoping for 200 feet 250 people to show
00:25:49.320 up well we got more than 500 okay hold on that was more than 500 people in
00:26:04.700 in Northern Ontario.
00:26:06.740 That deserves a louder applause.
00:26:17.480 Thank you, Sandra.
00:26:18.820 It was so big that Angus tweeted,
00:26:21.960 it must have been AI.
00:26:25.720 But let me tell you, it wasn't AI.
00:26:29.100 An old timer from the writing
00:26:30.580 who has seen a thing or two around Kirken Lake
00:26:32.780 came up to me and told me that.
00:26:35.020 And I quote,
00:26:36.960 the last time we had an event like this
00:26:39.280 was with Diefen Baker.
00:26:41.660 Diefen Baker.
00:26:50.780 That's 65 years ago.
00:26:53.020 There are a lot of young people here.
00:26:55.300 That's more than half a century.
00:26:57.800 Now that's the excitement that Pia has created
00:27:00.640 in writings like mine.
00:27:02.500 He's spoken directly to the hearts and souls of hard-working Canadians across this country
00:27:07.040 who believe, and they are still standing strong with him.
00:27:14.680 He spoke directly to the hearts and souls of Canadians who work hard across the country
00:27:19.960 and who believe in him and who continue to support him with conviction.
00:27:32.500 You know, I never thought that there would be a place for someone like me in politics.
00:27:43.300 I am an immigrant who came to Canada with nothing.
00:27:49.500 And I mean nothing.
00:27:50.740 We just had the clothes in our bags.
00:27:53.360 I am a mother of three, a finance professional on Bay Street.
00:27:58.780 But after a decade of failed liberal policies, I came at a crossroads.
00:28:05.620 I saw the challenges that our country was facing.
00:28:10.460 And I saw Pierre Poliv, a leader who understood the hardworking Canadians who felt unseen
00:28:19.040 and left behind by elitist politicians.
00:28:24.660 A leader who loves the ordinary Canadians he so proudly calls extraordinary.
00:28:34.300 I heard about he travels this country night after night and still stays until the last handshake,
00:28:55.360 the last conversation, and I came to know him as someone who carries the weight of those
00:29:05.920 conversations and turns them into his mission to restore the promise of Canada.
00:29:12.520 and so I started to ask myself a question could I leave the finance world and fight for a better
00:29:30.340 country for my kids for our kids and so I did just like more than 8 million Canadians I joined
00:29:41.120 peers mission to restore the promise of canada in my own way in a tough liberal held writing
00:29:49.840 and it was a tough liberal held writing our team knocked on over 100 000 doors we visited every
00:29:58.640 single home we visited every single home not once not twice three times I
00:30:20.960 saw his leadership up close Pierre came to Newmarket Aurora and we tour our
00:30:27.620 businesses around the GTA and let me tell you when Pierre shows up he doesn't
00:30:35.000 just take a few photos and disappears he knocks he listens he stays with Pierre
00:30:47.480 the work doesn't stop when the cameras turn off he met voters who understood
00:30:55.080 that he represents hope and true belief in our country they are united behind pierre
00:31:03.480 much as we are in the conservative party of canada tonight
00:31:18.040 and you know what happened next in my writing
00:31:20.680 conservatives one new market Aurora we're lucky to have such a courageous young
00:31:34.800 woman Sandra thank you thank you tonight we have the great honor we have
00:31:41.300 the great honor of introducing the leader of his majesty's loyal
00:31:46.120 opposition and the Conservative Party of Canada. As a member of Parliament and former
00:31:52.580 minister, he helped the previous Conservative government cut taxes, balance budgets, deliver
00:31:59.660 affordable homes and crack down on crime and corruption.
00:32:03.360 Tonight, we have the immense honour of introducing Pierre Poilievre, the head of His Majesty's
00:32:14.760 and loyal opposition and head of the Conservative Party of Canada.
00:32:19.640 Pierre has spent his career fighting for Canadians.
00:32:28.240 Fighting against massive money printing deficits that led to inflation and the affordability
00:32:34.400 crisis.
00:32:35.940 Fighting for tougher laws to tackle crime.
00:32:39.620 Fighting to help those struggling with addiction.
00:32:44.180 to unlock canadian resources but the reality is he has only begun so ladies and gentlemen
00:33:04.420 please turn your eyes to the screens ladies and please turn your eyes to the screen about politics
00:33:18.820 it's about the people who build this country the ones who get up early work hard and are still
00:33:26.180 overlooked for too long canadians have been told to wait to settle to believe nothing can change
00:33:33.140 But real change doesn't start in Ottawa or fancy boardrooms.
00:33:37.140 It starts by listening on the street, in the stores, in the quiet conversations that never make the news.
00:33:44.140 Looking everybody in the eye, change is possible thanks to the people who refuse.
00:33:55.140 people written off and left behind not with excuses not with empty promises but
00:34:03.480 with the hope that everyone deserves a chance at the Canadian dream our party
00:34:08.640 fights for a generation that did everything right and still feels
00:34:12.720 ignored the young Canadian canadian who have studied worked hardly and they have
00:34:19.320 saved money and they have complied with all the regulations and who are and
00:34:24.180 wondering if one day they'll be able to buy a house and start a family they were promised
00:34:31.860 we fight for families working longer hours stretching every dollar to put food on the
00:34:37.300 table we fight for those who served canada with honor the men and women in uniform who stood up
00:34:43.780 this country and now ask their country to stand up for them
00:34:47.540 We fight for the future of our children and our grandchildren so that they can grow and
00:34:56.940 strive in Canada with their family and live in freedom, security and hope.
00:35:05.840 Even when it's hard, even when it's unpopular, we fight even though it is a sacrifice for
00:35:12.340 our family even when we miss our kids even when we are on the road but our love for them keeps
00:35:18.420 us going never giving up because the future of our children and yours is worth every sacrifice
00:35:27.700 we are fighting when one is fighting for people who have the heart of the right place
00:35:32.260 one never gives up even when it's difficult that's how we change this country that's how we fight
00:35:40.340 and win for every Canadian.
00:35:43.060 With your help, we're going to win the next election.
00:35:46.640 We're going to restore Canada's promise
00:35:48.900 and bring hope to all of our people.
00:35:52.520 Together, we will build a country that works for every Canadian.
00:36:10.340 Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce my husband.
00:36:40.340 Thank you.
00:37:10.340 Amen.
00:37:40.340 Thank you.
00:38:10.340 Thank you.
00:38:40.340 Thank you.
00:39:03.220 Thank you.
00:39:04.220 Thank you, everybody.
00:39:06.760 thank you everybody and thank you manna valentina and cruz thank you to the great grassroots
00:39:23.400 conservatives who work and unite here today and welcome to my hometown of calgary
00:39:29.000 conservatives from all over the country who's who's excited to be in calgary in january
00:39:38.500 we're tough we can take it a little bit of regional advice for atlantic friends
00:39:47.680 try the steak not the seafood for those of you from the eastern prairie sorry to block your view
00:39:55.080 with the mountains, to our friends in Toronto, enjoy your time outside of the center of the
00:39:59.900 universe. I love seeing so many conservatives in one place, but it must freak the liberals
00:40:06.980 out enough to invoke the Emergencies Act. But truly, it's great to be home in the beating
00:40:24.260 heart of the West. A land filled with treasure. A land of oil and honey. The place that taught
00:40:35.420 me my great values. Opportunity as big as the sky. Where a handshake and a word is a
00:40:42.440 man's bond. And where a hard day's work is its own sermon. My parents taught me the value
00:40:48.980 of a dollar here in Calgary. My mother could sure stretch one. She's here over there. And
00:40:54.080 she could stretch a dollar, that's for sure. My mother, my mother was one of those people
00:41:02.800 who would literally drive clear across town to use one of those coupons to save half price
00:41:09.100 on breakfast. My dad would have me up at five in the morning to deliver newspapers. We weren't
00:41:15.780 rich, but life was good. That was the deal. Work hard, start anywhere, get anywhere. That's what
00:41:26.160 the country promised us all. A hopeful life, a safe home, a full table, a family you love,
00:41:34.540 a flag that united. That's the country that we love.
00:41:38.480 We call it the Canadian promise, the deal.
00:41:48.580 The professors might call it the social contract.
00:41:52.420 The people have kept their part of that bargain.
00:41:55.560 Working hard, spending less, following the rules.
00:42:00.660 But unfortunately, the government has not kept its part of the bargain.
00:42:05.560 Right now, as we gather, families are struggling to do the math.
00:42:13.680 Young people are wondering if they'll ever have a job or a home.
00:42:17.180 Worried parents are sitting at kitchen tables with empty fridges and empty bank accounts.
00:42:22.040 And seniors worry that their savings might not last as long as their days.
00:42:28.840 This liberal government doesn't just leave people behind.
00:42:32.320 It prices and shuts out youth from homes, workers from jobs, and families from groceries.
00:42:42.300 Simply put, Canadians cannot afford life under the Liberal government.
00:42:56.960 The government is literally the biggest item in a family budget today.
00:43:01.040 It takes up more money than food, clothing, and shelter combined.
00:43:04.500 The cost of government is driving up the cost of living.
00:43:06.880 Taxes and record money-printing deficits are inflating everything.
00:43:13.320 It's no coincidence, therefore, that as the Liberal government doubled the debt,
00:43:19.980 housing costs and food bank lineups doubled at the very same time.
00:43:25.420 Now, they promised that all these deficits were going to lead to investments.
00:43:28.360 You know, it's kind of like the old magicians who said that they could turn lead into gold.
00:43:34.700 But those deficits never became investments.
00:43:36.700 In fact, Canada has had the worst investment and the worst growth in the G7 over the last
00:43:43.500 ten years.
00:43:44.500 Amazingly, Canadian citizens, this is an incredible fact, Canadian citizens now open more businesses
00:43:51.080 in the United States of America than they do in their home country.
00:43:55.840 That's elbows out.
00:43:58.820 And taxpayers spend more on federal debt interest than on health care.
00:44:05.140 That's more money for bondholders and bankers than for nurses and doctors.
00:44:10.260 Liberal laws have unleashed crime.
00:44:12.580 Out of control, open borders, immigration has overwhelmed health care, housing, and
00:44:18.280 job markets.
00:44:20.000 Cancel culture and identity politics divide Canadians.
00:44:23.720 separatist movements are reawakened.
00:44:26.760 After 10 years of liberal rule, Canada is more costly and crime-ridden, dangerous and
00:44:32.720 dependent and divided than ever before.
00:44:36.400 Now Mr. Carney, he promised to change all that.
00:44:43.700 But here we are a year later, you know, what's changed?
00:44:47.060 The words have changed, the style has changed.
00:44:50.380 But what's changed in your life, really?
00:44:52.100 Really? Well, let's go down the list. The illusion. Mr. Carney said he would spend less.
00:44:58.880 He's spending $90 billion more, and he doubled the deficit that he inherited. The illusion.
00:45:05.800 Mr. Carney said, a country that cannot feed itself has few options. Well, food inflation
00:45:11.880 has doubled under his watch, and it's the worst in the G7. Groceries will cost the average family
00:45:18.000 an almost unimaginable $17,600 this year.
00:45:25.020 That's after-tax money.
00:45:27.000 The illusion.
00:45:28.440 Build, baby, build.
00:45:30.940 The reality has been block, baby, block.
00:45:35.980 He hasn't got rid of a single anti-development law or bureaucracy.
00:45:39.680 The no-do pipelines law?
00:45:41.440 Still here.
00:45:42.600 And by the way, speaking of pipelines,
00:45:43.900 how many of them are approved?
00:45:45.900 Zero.
00:45:46.320 10 years ago, before the Liberals came, the deal, the social contract, that if you work hard, you can make a good living, a good, you have a good salary and buy a fine house and start a family.
00:46:01.520 but today living in Canada is more expensive and Mr. Carney has promised
00:46:06.980 that will be judged by groceries cost well Canada has the worst inflation for
00:46:13.560 food amongst the G7 and the average family will have to spend almost $18,000
00:46:20.120 to eat this year. Mr. Carney doubled the deficit he inherited while your taxes
00:46:27.760 keep going up. Young people can no longer afford a home. With the Liberals, Canada has become
00:46:38.840 a country of renters, not a nation of homeowners. Mr. Carney promised change. And he did change
00:46:49.000 some things, the tone, the style, the words. But since he became Prime Minister, have things
00:46:55.120 really changed in your lives is your life costing any less mr. Carney loves
00:47:03.100 to make big speeches around the world but he's forcing Canadians to pay more here
00:47:09.720 clearly mr. Carney talks big outside the country but does little inside the
00:47:19.060 country. I've got a funny paradox for you. I've got a bit of a funny paradox for you. He imposes
00:47:26.520 taxes and red tape on home building, resource development, and businesses. Then he creates
00:47:31.340 new bureaucracies to subsidize home building, resource development, and businesses. He taxes
00:47:39.000 food production, and then he creates new programs for food subsidies. In every case, he blocks and
00:47:46.320 taxes a thing, and then subsidizes that same thing. As President Reagan says, if a liberal
00:47:53.440 sees something that moves, he taxes it. If it keeps moving, he regulates it. And when it stops
00:48:01.180 moving, he subsidizes it. But why not just get out of the way and let things move?
00:48:16.320 Well, because then there'd be no role for him.
00:48:20.480 No photo op, no power.
00:48:23.040 If everyone could just get up and do great things without him,
00:48:26.100 he would be less relevant.
00:48:27.120 The government would be less important.
00:48:30.420 This way, you have to give him your money
00:48:32.320 and then come ask for some of it back.
00:48:34.440 And he can claim that he's building the thing that he's blocking.
00:48:38.040 The benefit is seen in the form of his photo ops and political power,
00:48:43.400 but the cost is paid by the homeowner who can't build a home
00:48:46.220 the carpenter who never gets a job building it
00:48:49.700 and the family that never gets to move in
00:48:52.360 or the entrepreneur who never launches the business
00:48:55.480 or the senior who, because of all these extra costs
00:48:58.100 has to choose between eating and heating
00:49:00.280 these costs are so often unseen
00:49:03.780 and even more often
00:49:06.760 so too are the people paying them
00:49:08.980 but my message to those people who have felt
00:49:12.400 unseen for too long
00:49:14.360 who are carrying the country on their back
00:49:16.720 and feel underappreciated and overworked.
00:49:20.140 Conservatives see you, and conservatives will fight for you.
00:49:31.000 Thank you.
00:49:31.780 Thank you.
00:49:38.960 Thank you.
00:49:41.320 Thank you.
00:49:44.360 The people need the government off their backs, out of their way, and by their sides.
00:49:48.300 And when I become prime minister, these great Canadians will not need to ask my permission to succeed.
00:49:54.340 Business will get ahead by having the best product, not the best lobbyist.
00:50:05.320 By pleasing customers, not pleasing politicians.
00:50:08.880 I love you too.
00:50:11.320 Thank you.
00:50:14.360 We have the most amazing patriots, the most amazing people in this party.
00:50:22.760 Thank God for the grassroots of the Conservative Party.
00:50:36.200 And the great people of our country.
00:50:37.980 You know, as I go around and I meet the people of this country, you know, and I spend half
00:50:43.300 my time doing that and half my time on Parliament Hill, it's become very clear to me that the
00:50:49.740 common people, not the ordinary people, the extraordinary people, they have all the wisdom
00:50:55.880 and the virtue to make their own decisions and run their own lives.
00:50:59.720 They don't need to be bossed around by government.
00:51:07.980 Our government is here to do its job.
00:51:14.800 Only the things that people can't do for themselves, not run your life.
00:51:18.460 In fact, if I were starting a new political party from scratch, I'm not, I'm not.
00:51:25.240 But if I were, it would be called the Mind Your Own Damn Business Party.
00:51:32.900 That includes respecting the constitutional jurisdiction of our provinces and getting
00:51:40.000 the federal government to butt out of the affairs of Albertans and Quebecers and other
00:51:44.860 Canadians, to rake room, to have a smaller government that makes room for the dignity
00:51:51.640 of work and the soft, strong bonds of family.
00:51:57.700 It was by fighting for these principles and giving hope to the common people that we won
00:52:14.200 the most votes in our party's history. 2.5 million more votes and 25 more seats. Often
00:52:29.320 we won these votes in places that had never voted conservative before. And now it is clear,
00:52:35.480 conservatives are the party of workers, including union workers, small business owners, and
00:52:40.080 young people. Have you seen the youth delegation at this convention? It is amazing.
00:53:03.080 You know, in the past, when I was growing up, we would go to a conservative convention
00:53:06.840 and you'd look out at the crowd, and it would be the great white north, the white hair everywhere.
00:53:12.180 And we love the people with white hair, the wisdom that they share with all of us,
00:53:16.040 but we also need a party that's infused with young people.
00:53:18.940 And on that front, we are the youngest party and the oldest party.
00:53:28.360 In fact, Elections Canada holds a mock vote in the high schools on Election Day,
00:53:35.000 And this year, Conservatives won.
00:53:37.660 Who came in first?
00:53:45.820 So congratulations, parents.
00:53:47.800 The kids are all right.
00:53:50.960 Now, and you know, every year,
00:53:53.600 one-third of those high school kids, roughly,
00:53:55.860 becomes eligible to vote for real.
00:53:57.540 So we've got to make sure we get them out to vote
00:53:59.160 by continuing to inspire them every day and in every way.
00:54:02.540 and that means
00:54:04.160 now obviously
00:54:10.860 elections teach us lessons
00:54:12.580 like for example
00:54:14.180 the need to hold earlier
00:54:16.440 and open nominations
00:54:18.040 to have more local autonomy
00:54:19.900 to empower our local riding associations
00:54:22.860 we're the backbone of our organization
00:54:26.420 and for that I want to thank all of you in this room
00:54:30.480 we've provided such valuable input
00:54:32.180 But in the lead up to and throughout this convention, you are the ones whose ears and whose feet are on the ground and have the best intelligence to bring us.
00:54:40.760 And you have told us many things.
00:54:42.480 But one of the most important lessons I have gained from listening to you throughout this convention is that you told us to ignore the voices who keep telling us to abandon our conservative principles.
00:54:54.000 We will remain true to our principles.
00:54:55.980 Thank you.
00:55:25.980 Thank you very much.
00:55:32.400 You know, on the issue of the principles that we hold,
00:55:35.640 we won the debate in the last election on every single one of the big issues.
00:55:40.280 On carbon taxes, inflation, housing, resources, crime, drugs,
00:55:45.240 and soon we will be proven right once again on the wasteful and insane liberal gun grab.
00:55:55.980 It's funny to watch the liberal rhetoric.
00:56:03.980 First, they said, conservatives have no policies.
00:56:06.980 It's just slogans.
00:56:08.980 Then they said, conservative policies are very scary.
00:56:12.980 And then they said, we agree with all the conservative policies.
00:56:16.980 The best part of being conservative is that eventually everyone admits that we were right all along.
00:56:25.980 And, you know, it's not just the solutions for the past,
00:56:35.160 it's the solutions for the future that we offer the Canadian people
00:56:38.760 that brings so much hope.
00:56:40.860 Policies like an affordable government for an affordable life.
00:56:45.500 See, stronger take-home pay requires lower taxes.
00:56:49.080 A strong dollar that buys more requires we end inflationary deficits.
00:56:55.980 Both require we cut spending on bureaucracy, consultants, corporate welfare, foreign aid, and handouts to phony refugees.
00:57:05.320 Speaking of affordability
00:57:16.960 Everything should be dirt cheap in Canada
00:57:19.260 Because we have the most dirt
00:57:21.740 In which to build homes
00:57:23.320 Grow food
00:57:24.640 And dig resources
00:57:26.180 Right? Think about it
00:57:27.700 The treasures in our soil
00:57:29.180 Mixed with the hands
00:57:31.000 Of our genius engineers and trades workers
00:57:33.540 can and will supply an abundant, affordable, autonomous future to our country.
00:57:40.200 And now more than ever, we need autonomy and independence.
00:57:44.780 Unfair and unresolved U.S. tariffs and diplomatic distractions and disruptions
00:57:50.200 from down south and from other places
00:57:53.480 show that we cannot rely on others to secure our borders or buy our goods.
00:57:59.880 Conservatives renew our good faith offer.
00:58:03.540 to help the Prime Minister and his government get U.S. tariffs removed and open new markets abroad.
00:58:10.540 We will work with the government in any way we can,
00:58:13.540 because conservatives always put our country ahead of our party.
00:58:18.540 In this dangerous and uncertain world, Canadians must stand united so we can stand on our own
00:58:38.720 two feet.
00:58:40.720 and strong, Canadians will bow before no nation anywhere on earth.
00:58:55.200 Canada must make new friends, honor our alliances, and do our part.
00:59:00.800 On resources, trade, diplomacy, foreign aid, and everything else, though, it's clear we
00:59:07.600 We must prioritize our own national interest above all else.
00:59:13.740 And here's the good news.
00:59:19.420 The good news is that the same Conservative policies that will make life affordable will
00:59:25.900 make Canada more self-reliant.
00:59:28.820 We will do it by starting with the Canadian Sovereignty Act.
00:59:33.840 This is a law that will put us back in charge of our lives.
00:59:36.700 It'll bring home the half trillion dollars of investment that has fled south by ending
00:59:41.640 capital gains tax on reinvestment in Canada.
00:59:54.100 That will be like economic rocket fuel for startups, high tech, and major job-creating
00:59:59.040 projects.
01:00:00.040 We will replace anti-development laws like C-69 and C-48 with new laws that will quickly
01:00:07.440 approve projects and allow energy shipping off our west coast.
01:00:11.320 We will also quickly green-light Daniel Smith's proposed pipeline to the Pacific.
01:00:19.920 Let me just put this into context.
01:00:30.220 That pipeline would move a million barrels a day and $30 billion a year.
01:00:35.580 That would be the single biggest increase to overseas exports in Canadian history.
01:00:42.840 And for context, the Liberals now say that they want this strategic partnership with China for a new world order.
01:00:50.000 One pipeline to the Pacific would increase our exports
01:00:54.560 more than all the products that we currently sell to China in a year.
01:00:59.480 So I think that is a more accurate and pragmatic approach
01:01:02.720 to diversifying our trade.
01:01:09.580 We will end the industrial carbon tax
01:01:12.320 so that we can produce more steel, aluminum, and other things
01:01:15.300 that it takes to grow food and build homes.
01:01:19.060 And speaking of that, you want to launch or relaunch the biggest tariff-proof industry in Canada?
01:01:27.180 You know what it is? Home building.
01:01:29.100 No other country can tariff home building because it's built on Canadian homes,
01:01:34.000 on Canadian land, with Canadian workers, using Canadian lumber.
01:01:38.220 It is literally the most homegrown industry we have.
01:01:41.980 So why don't we dedicate ourselves to working with all levels of government
01:01:45.640 to remove all the taxes and all the red tape
01:01:48.580 so that we can create jobs, harvest more lumber,
01:01:51.800 and build homes that our young people can afford.
01:02:06.100 We'll create free trade bonuses for our provinces
01:02:09.720 to open up markets to the rest of Canada.
01:02:12.500 We'll bring incentives and rules
01:02:14.060 to ensure that we keep our Canadian technologies in Canadian hands on Canadian soil.
01:02:20.900 We'll move from the second slowest building permits in the developed world
01:02:24.860 to the fastest building permits anywhere in the developed world.
01:02:29.520 You know, people ask, it seems so complicated.
01:02:31.700 How is it that we get things built?
01:02:33.000 There's actually a very simple checklist that you need to build resource projects.
01:02:37.380 One, you need the resources. Check.
01:02:41.120 Two, you need the workers. Check.
01:02:43.620 we've got 100,000 unemployed construction workers available to start any day. Third,
01:02:49.500 you need the investment. Check. We've got massive pension funds that are literally investing
01:02:54.780 hundreds of billions of our savings in other countries where they can get things built.
01:03:00.500 So the fourth thing is the only thing missing. It's the federal government permits. They are
01:03:07.000 among the slowest in the world. We need to check mark this box so that we can get the federal
01:03:13.000 government out of the way, get the permits
01:03:15.020 so we can get shovels and ground, and that's what we will do.
01:03:25.620 Self-reliance
01:03:26.860 requires
01:03:28.740 self-defense.
01:03:30.760 We must be a nation
01:03:32.260 that protects our seas,
01:03:35.120 skies, and soil
01:03:36.840 without depending on the
01:03:38.860 U.S. or anyone else to do it
01:03:40.780 for us. And that's what we're
01:03:42.620 conservatives believe. It's time to cut the back office bureaucracy and the botched purchases
01:03:51.160 so that massive increases in defense spending actually hit the front line and support our
01:03:56.560 soldiers, sailors, air crew, and veterans. We will reassert Arctic sovereignty in this great
01:04:04.340 conservative tradition of Harper and Diefenbaker. We will take back control of our north and ensure
01:04:10.040 no foreign powers ever threaten our territory.
01:04:23.640 New bases in Iqaluit.
01:04:24.640 You know, we have no bases in the North right now, in the Arctic North today.
01:04:28.620 We haven't had any since the Cold War.
01:04:31.380 We will open new bases in Iqaluit, Churchill, Inuvik.
01:04:35.280 Rather than two new icebreakers, we'll break open that ice and open up new passageways for Canadians.
01:04:42.900 We will speed up the purchases of new tactical submarines.
01:04:46.560 I think my little girl wants to be a submarine sailor.
01:04:49.980 She's very excited by that idea.
01:04:52.180 So I think she's tired of hearing Daddy's speech, though, so we lost her.
01:04:56.920 We will speed up purchases of new submarines, tactical helicopters, satellite ground stations, over-the-top radar,
01:05:03.560 and we will quickly add an arsenal of drones
01:05:06.460 that will cover more territory at lower costs
01:05:09.020 and less risk to Canadian life
01:05:10.540 so that we are ready for the future of warfare.
01:05:21.020 And we will expand recruitment and also performance
01:05:25.600 by promoting and hiring based on merit
01:05:28.900 and not political correctness.
01:05:33.560 Our forces will be guided by a warrior culture, and our government will be dedicated to its
01:05:44.320 first responsibility, which is to take care of our precious veterans.
01:05:49.420 They fought for us, and we will always fight for them.
01:06:00.060 We must diversify our markets and also our alliances from NATO.
01:06:07.100 We should fight the American tariffs and do all we can in order to have a deal without
01:06:13.400 tariffs with the United States.
01:06:15.220 And yes, conservatives are willing to work with Mr. Carney in order to open up new markets
01:06:21.560 and reduce the American tariffs.
01:06:24.660 But we do not want to be dependent on others.
01:06:28.380 And this is why I'm suggesting the bill on sovereignty, which would enable us to develop our natural resources to bring production back into Canada, create new jobs and create a stronger purchasing power for our population, you know, in order to really be masters in our home.
01:06:58.380 And we need to unite this country like never before, because a house divided cannot stand.
01:07:06.760 You know, here we go again.
01:07:10.300 Liberals are in power, and just as night follows day,
01:07:14.940 separatist movements are in resurgence back in Quebec and here in Alberta.
01:07:20.620 These movements which had been dormant or even dead when Prime Minister Harper left office.
01:07:27.180 Now, we can simply attack people who feel this way, or we can ask them why.
01:07:33.660 Why, in Alberta and Quebec, why particularly among young people in those provinces
01:07:39.840 have so many lost hope in confederation?
01:07:44.040 Well, here's a few hints.
01:07:45.140 For the last 10 years, Ottawa has told our young people that our history is filled with shame and horror,
01:07:51.960 that we are a post-national country with no core identity
01:07:57.360 and that our youth will never own homes.
01:08:01.600 But other than that, they should feel great about being united in Canada.
01:08:06.440 All the while, the federal government stomps on Alberta's energy sector
01:08:10.020 and Quebec's jurisdiction.
01:08:12.040 Our message to those youth and to all of the people in Alberta and Quebec
01:08:16.860 who are losing hope in our country,
01:08:18.460 You will again have a country that respects your autonomy, is proud of your industries, unites us around our common identity and history, a country that will afford you the hopeful future that you have earned.
01:08:48.460 You know, it's incredible that when conservatives, there's never been a referendum crisis or a national unity crisis when conservatives have been in power.
01:09:07.520 It's an interesting coincidence, isn't it?
01:09:09.080 When the liberals are in power, well, then this is always a good thing for servantists.
01:09:16.740 But never when the Conservatives are in power, because Quebec's autonomy is well respected, and the Constitution of Alberta is recognized, and our country is proud, united, affordable, and full of hope.
01:09:33.300 The problem is, for 10 years, the Liberals have been telling us, oh, yes, there are two things to young Quebecers and young Albertans, that Canada is a post-national country and state without an identity, with a shameful history, and you guys will never have a house.
01:09:57.040 So, we are telling our youth, you have no identity, no home, but be happy and proud to be Canadian.
01:10:06.040 Well, I can imagine why our youth is losing hope.
01:10:10.040 So, tonight I have a message for young Quebecers.
01:10:15.040 Quebec nationalism is part and parcel of Canadian nationalism.
01:10:22.040 canada will be proud of her history and her identity and you will become proud of our country
01:10:31.880 and canada will enable you to realize your ambitions your dreams and your future within a
01:10:37.560 United Canada .
01:10:56.320 And we will celebrate, we will celebrate, rather than tear down our heroes in history.
01:11:02.900 Our museums and heritage programs will tell the unvarnished truth that conservatives have
01:11:08.720 known all along.
01:11:10.560 This is the greatest country on earth precisely because of the goodness of those people who
01:11:17.100 came here and sacrificed before us.
01:11:29.100 As the great Nova Scotian Joseph Howe said, a wise nation preserves its records, gathers
01:11:36.320 up its monuments, decorates the tombs of its illustrious dead, repairs its great public
01:11:42.800 structures, and fosters national pride and love of country by perpetual reference to
01:11:49.780 the sacrifices and glories of the past.
01:11:53.780 uniting around our common history, will heal the divisions.
01:11:59.340 We want a nation where all of us are equal, a nation that is colorblind.
01:12:04.500 We want a nation with no more hyphens, no more group labels.
01:12:09.780 We are all Canadians, Canadians in our heart, Canadians in every single way.
01:12:23.780 And immigration must serve our national interest as well.
01:12:45.980 We will welcome those who contribute.
01:12:47.600 And we will make sure that their skills are recognized so that they can get licensed to work as doctors and nurses in our country.
01:12:53.780 and reduce wait times in our hospitals.
01:12:56.360 At the same time, we must cap immigration at numbers we can integrate
01:13:01.420 into our jobs, housing, health care, and Canadian way of life.
01:13:14.700 We will deport criminals, end fraud, end abuse, and handouts to phony refugees.
01:13:21.660 please, we will no longer allow foreign conflicts to spill onto our streets.
01:13:48.660 We must unite to end anti-Semitism and the attacks on their places of worship, and stand
01:13:59.460 with our Jewish friends and neighbors who are under attack like never before.
01:14:03.820 We want Jews to feel comfortable and safe.
01:14:07.040 They should be able to wear the Star of David, put up the Mesuzah, and wear a kippah everywhere
01:14:13.080 and be proudly Jewish all around.
01:14:33.480 That's the story of Canada, isn't it?
01:14:36.200 It's incredible.
01:14:37.120 Protestants and Catholics
01:14:38.160 teared each other's eyeballs out
01:14:39.560 for hundreds of years
01:14:40.480 on the other side of the pond,
01:14:41.700 and they came here
01:14:42.680 and got along yes we squabble yes we get on each other's nerves but we don't fight each other
01:14:49.480 because of religious or sectoral differences we get along with our next door neighbors regardless
01:14:54.600 of where their grandparents live when newcomers arrive in this country just as it has always been
01:14:59.720 we will ensure that they leave differences at the doors we must restore leave those problems outside
01:15:16.520 the door out on the house in this country that in toronto the police tell people to leave their
01:15:24.360 keys at the door so that thieves can more safely steal their car in the middle of the
01:15:29.860 night. In Brampton, people are literally being told that because there is an extortion wave
01:15:38.040 on their particular street, they should move into their basements to minimize the chance
01:15:44.040 of being hit by a stray bullet in Canada. It's not just stats. It's human tragedies.
01:15:54.360 In 2024, a violent repeat offender, released by liberal laws, murdered a wonderful piano teacher, Esty Jones.
01:16:06.360 The killer should have been in jail, and Esty should still be alive today.
01:16:13.240 Her niece, Esther, is here with us today.
01:16:17.260 Esther, very soon.
01:16:24.360 She decided to turn this terrible strategy into action, this terrible tragedy into real change.
01:16:42.560 She joined our party and testified in a parliamentary committee against catch-and-release liberal laws.
01:16:48.860 And together with her, together with you, Esther, we will work to pass laws requiring that anyone convicted of three serious offenses will have a minimum of 10 years in prison with no jail, parole, probation, or house arrest.
01:17:18.860 The tiny group of criminals, the career criminals, will stay behind bars
01:17:27.800 so that no one ever faces a tragedy like Esther's family.
01:17:31.880 And I can tell you, Esther, that your wonderful aunt will have an incredible legacy
01:17:36.140 because her story will inspire us to take the action that will save so many other lives.
01:17:41.060 Thank you and God bless your beautiful family.
01:17:48.860 We will also protect the freedoms of law-abiding people
01:17:52.740 with a new castle law that allows you to take whatever action necessary
01:17:56.640 to protect your family against home invaders.
01:17:58.640 We will do so also by protecting the rights of law-abiding firearms owners stopping the
01:18:24.440 liberal gun grab and putting the money putting the money into border security by definition
01:18:35.480 if you've got a possession and acquisition license if you following the law if you would
01:18:40.560 even respect this compensation this compass confiscation policy you're by definition not
01:18:46.500 the risk you're not a danger and we shouldn't be wasting police resources harassing you
01:18:51.840 The Liberals want to protect turkeys from hunters. We want to protect Canadians from criminals
01:19:06.420 And we will protect your religious freedom
01:19:09.060 We will stop the Liberals from censoring politically incorrect Bible verses. You will have the ability to worship God in your own way
01:19:21.840 And we'll protect our loved ones from addictions.
01:19:37.940 Overdoses have cost 50,000 lives and overrun our streets.
01:19:44.440 We'll bring in life sentences for fentanyl kingpins,
01:19:47.520 shut down the drug dens, and treat drug abuse.
01:19:53.520 Because 50,000 dead is too many.
01:19:57.200 Let me tell you.
01:20:05.580 After years of intense struggle with drugs,
01:20:10.060 Kirk was determined to take his life.
01:20:13.880 While driving on the Sea to Sky Highway,
01:20:16.040 he took off his seat belt and he drove full speed into a rock wall. But God was
01:20:25.880 not finished with him yet. Kirk survived. He later said, at that moment I decided I
01:20:33.560 was going to change my life. Kirk entered recovery, counseling, group therapy,
01:20:39.500 exercise, and yes, faith. It was hard, but it saved his life.
01:20:53.740 And he has since become a chef at the same treatment center. He makes a mean steak,
01:21:00.040 which he's promised to let me try. He's also the CEO of Probiotic Sodas and has six employees.
01:21:06.020 He will soon be marrying his beautiful fiancee, and both of them are here with us tonight.
01:21:11.740 Give them a big round of applause.
01:21:15.760 Way to go, buddy.
01:21:18.980 Way to go, man.
01:21:20.920 We love you.
01:21:29.660 You know, when I go to these treatment facilities, I love to go and meet with mostly the young men who are in those places.
01:21:35.420 turning their lives around and I walk in and I say I'm not here because you need me
01:21:41.040 I'm here because frankly I'm here because I need you Canada has a job for you to do
01:21:48.460 you need to get better and go out and pull the next guy off the street and he's going to come
01:21:54.580 in and get better and he'll go back out and pull the next guy off the street and we're going to
01:21:57.960 keep doing that again and again till every last one of our brothers and sisters is back on their
01:22:03.140 feet. So hang on. Have hope. Help is on the way. Hope. That's really the theme of this convention
01:22:15.260 and this evening. Hope is on the way for our people as well. But hope is not just a comforting
01:22:21.200 blanket. Hope is the knowledge that your work will fulfill your purpose, your why.
01:22:31.440 He who has a why can bear any how, Victor Frankl wrote in the great book, Man's Search for Meaning.
01:22:41.980 That thing that you call meaning could be for you a home, a career, a family, a business.
01:22:52.340 Seeing your autistic daughter speak for the first time is the thing.
01:22:57.960 It's the thing.
01:23:11.980 That meaning is the thing that keeps people fighting on through hardship.
01:23:32.060 People ask me, why? I keep going. The slings and arrows, they're the easy part.
01:23:39.740 constantly being away from family
01:23:42.420 that's the harder part
01:23:44.460 you know
01:23:45.980 my little boy
01:23:47.100 Cruz
01:23:48.820 he cut out and colored
01:23:51.140 a little paper
01:23:53.420 Spider-Man
01:23:54.980 and gave it for me to take on the road
01:23:57.660 to stop bad guys
01:23:59.080 i look at it when i'm in the hotel room sometimes late at night it makes me smile
01:24:15.880 i see all those little scribbles and cut marks and imagine those little figures
01:24:23.020 working away.
01:24:26.280 And I know that one day I'll come home
01:24:28.540 and those fingers will have grown big.
01:24:31.540 And I miss him.
01:24:34.080 And too often, I kiss my wife and daughter
01:24:36.600 goodnight through FaceTime.
01:24:38.700 So why keep going?
01:24:41.180 Because we want our kids to have the same promise
01:24:43.760 that we had.
01:24:46.060 Because
01:24:46.620 because we want them to know that when you care about something, you work for it.
01:25:00.500 When you believe in something, you fight for it.
01:25:03.540 And most of all, when you start something, you never give up.
01:25:16.620 Because the unsung heroes who built and protect this country, who have it infinitely harder
01:25:28.780 than I do, they never give up, so I have no right to give up.
01:25:33.380 Because all of you who pound signs on frozen ground, knock doors on dark nights, and sacrifice
01:25:40.300 warm family dinners for cold campaign pizza, you never give up, so I'll never give up.
01:25:46.620 Because the young couple, the young couple scrimping to start a family, and the single
01:26:05.520 mother fighting each day to feed her kids, they never give up so that we never give up.
01:26:09.880 Because the Canadian Pacific Railway workers who pounded spikes into frozen ground and
01:26:15.060 forged steel ribbon that united east and west, they never gave up, so we never gave up.
01:26:20.340 Because the Canadian teenagers living in frozen, rat-infested trenches, who had it infinitely
01:26:26.800 harder than we do, they fought on, they never gave up, and they won wars so that we will
01:26:31.700 never give up on our country in these times.
01:26:36.780 From Tennessee.
01:26:45.060 Canadians don't give up because our country is worth fighting for, as are its people and its promise.
01:26:57.160 Only Canadians could carve the world's best country out of a big, cold, vast land because we never give up.
01:27:04.900 We never back down. We never run away. We stand united tonight, together, always,
01:27:11.640 because this country, its people, and promise are worth fighting for
01:27:16.240 because while some say this is as good as it gets,
01:27:19.800 we know the best is yet to come.
01:27:22.080 Thank you very much.
01:27:41.640 Thank you.
01:28:11.640 Thank you.
01:28:41.640 Thank you.
