00:00:00.000 Fifty-four million dollars is just a petty matter.
00:00:03.440 According to one programmer, a programmer demonstrated that the Arrive Can app
00:00:07.300 could have been designed in a single weekend for less than a quarter million dollars.
00:00:12.240 Instead, this Prime Minister paid 54 million dollars.
00:00:16.240 Ten thousand people were sent by that app wrongly into quarantine when they shouldn't have been.
00:00:20.820 And many of the contracts went to companies that have home addresses as their headquarters.
00:00:25.900 Will the Prime Minister supply Canadians with the full list of all of the contractors who got the money?
00:00:32.760 You're right, Honourable Prime Minister.
00:00:36.080 Well, no. Since day one of the pandemic, we were focused on providing them the support
00:00:42.100 and the safety necessary in this unprecedented time,
00:00:45.940 despite the political games the Conservatives chose to play throughout the pandemic.
00:00:50.640 Obviously, the amount cited includes far more than just the initial development of the app.
00:00:55.360 It includes services like cloud storage, IT call centre services, upgrades and future costs.
00:01:02.300 On this side of the aisle, we will continue to put the safety and security of Canadians
00:01:06.880 at the centre of everything we do in unprecedented pandemics or in regular times, Mr. Speaker.
00:01:13.560 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:01:14.920 Well, creating a 54 million dollar app well over budget that could have been created in a weekend for under a quarter million dollars
00:01:21.240 does not protect anybody's safety, nor does an app that sends 10,000 people wrongly into quarantine.
00:01:27.680 But the strangest thing is that there are these roughly dozen companies that got the contracts to supply this app.
00:01:34.080 The Prime Minister does not want to give all of the names of the subcontractors that got that money.
00:01:39.640 I challenge him now, will he commit to supply this house with the list of all the subcontractors
00:01:46.460 who got the money, who got rich?
