Hi everybody, Derek Sloan here. I'm outside the Parliament buildings here in Ottawa.
00:00:08.600
Just wanted to give you a little bit of an update.
00:00:11.600
I haven't done a Facebook Live since my press conference of last week, and that press conference
00:00:18.940
that we did was with various doctors from around Ontario who are critiquing the government's
00:00:26.600
handling of this crisis, who had some very interesting things to say.
00:00:32.360
I have some exciting news to share from that conference that I'll share in just a few minutes
00:00:39.080
In the middle of that conference last week, a parliamentary official press conference
00:00:44.000
that was being broadcasted by CPAC, our Facebook Live was shut down halfway through it.
00:00:51.280
We started it again and we were able to get it, the last part of it there.
00:00:55.540
But it is unprecedented in my view that a parliamentary press conference, an official parliamentary
00:01:00.300
event would be shut down by social media censors.
00:01:05.340
What an overreach, what an overstep, what a trampling of the rights of democracy.
00:01:12.560
I'm going to share some exciting news right now.
00:01:15.480
Guys, that video, that CPAC video that went out on their YouTube is the most watched CPAC
00:01:28.180
Within two days, it had more views than any other video in the history of CPAC on YouTube.
00:01:35.120
The other video that had the most views before this one was up for seven years.
00:01:39.960
It's now almost double the most views of all time on CPAC.
00:01:47.220
Again, I know that Facebook has been preventing people from sharing it.
00:01:53.740
I was up until two in the morning voting against C-10, voting against amendments that were added
00:02:03.440
I want to tell you about something else that happened today.
00:02:06.200
In the House of Commons today, I asked a question to the minister if they would denounce the censorship
00:02:10.840
that we're seeing on official parliamentary events.
00:02:15.900
In fact, she accused me of spreading misinformation.
00:02:18.900
Also, I raised a point of order, a unanimous consent motion in the House of Commons to combat
00:02:28.340
I post a video on my parliamentary Facebook and also on my national Facebook page.
00:02:36.700
It was shot down by the Liberals, but I did raise that issue today in the House of Commons.
00:02:44.360
Ever since we put out a call for whistleblowers, we have heard from so many people with respect
00:02:49.680
to things that are going on, nurses, doctors, people in the armed forces, regular citizens.
00:02:57.820
So many different people have been reaching out to us.
00:03:00.760
I want to extend right now a special call for additional whistleblowers.
00:03:08.040
Last week, someone in the media, someone in the parliamentary press gallery, I'm not
00:03:13.500
This needs to be very confidential, reached out to me and they said, Derek, I'm receiving
00:03:23.240
Anytime I want to try and cover anything that kind of relates to COVID-19 and things like
00:03:28.180
that, or at least in a way that questions the public narrative or the mainstream narrative.
00:03:33.940
And they said, Derek, would you put out a call for whistleblowers for people in the media
00:03:38.920
so that I can talk to them and see how they're dealing with any suppression or censorship on
00:03:46.060
So I said, I will do that and I'll keep it very confidential, but I'd like to officially
00:03:50.800
right now, if you are in the media, if you work in the media on any level, a cameraman,
00:03:56.060
a reporter, any level, and you're receiving pushback at an editorial level on trying to
00:04:01.720
cover COVID-19 in a way that, you know, pushes back a little bit on the narratives here that
00:04:07.840
You can send an email to my parliamentary email.
00:04:10.760
I will keep your information entirely confidential.
00:04:15.200
I can maybe try and get your story out there in a way that does not reveal your identity.
00:04:20.080
I would love to, I would love for people in the media to reach out to me.
00:04:24.860
So please share this Facebook live far and wide.
00:04:28.140
We want people in the media to reach out and tell us their stories.
00:04:33.360
If you're in the media and you are being censored, if you're being censored by your editorial
00:04:38.920
board or anyone in the, in the, in the company that you work for, send me an email.
00:04:47.820
It was really exciting to raise some of these issues in the house of commons with, with regards
00:04:53.820
It was amazing to do that press conference last week.
00:04:57.340
That press conference, as I mentioned, is the most watched CPAC video of all time on YouTube,
00:05:05.220
Uh, and we were blowing past records, so thank you so much for watching this today.
00:05:10.640
Uh, I got to go now, but thank you and God bless Canada.
