00:00:00.000 Freedom, responsibility, fairness, and respect guide and inform the policies of the People's Party.
00:00:10.960 Maxime Bernier is known as a straight-talking and honest politician who speaks his mind.
00:00:20.900 A man of ideas, his belief in personal responsibility and freedom is at the heart of his political vision.
00:00:30.000 In his public statements, he expresses those values and his unwavering commitment to reducing the size of the government.
00:00:41.960 I agree to that.
00:00:43.640 Born in Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, he is the father of two girls and was considered to be the best industry minister in 30 years in the Harper government.
00:01:01.880 Maxime left the Conservative Party of Canada to sit as an independent MP and announce the launch of the People's Party of Canada,
00:01:13.420 bringing together common sense who support classical conservatism and libertarianism to create solutions adapted for the challenges of the 21st century.
00:01:31.920 Maxime offers Canadians a real principled alternative to the corrupt establishment parties,
00:01:43.320 which rely on pondering and vote-buying schemes to further their interests and those of lobbyists rather than those of the people.
00:01:54.880 Will you please help me welcome Maxime Bernier.
00:01:58.340 Thank you.
00:02:02.340 Thank you.
00:02:03.340 So, I'm very happy, very pleased to be here.
00:02:08.340 Thank you for Action for Canada.
00:02:11.340 You know, it's a great organization all across the country.
00:02:16.340 I like the slogan, Faith, Family, Freedom.
00:02:19.340 And actually, if you remember the slogan in Italy at the last election over there, that was Faith, Family and Country.
00:02:30.340 So, I believe it is important to fight for what we believe.
00:02:35.340 And that's why we created also at the federal level the People's Party.
00:02:40.340 I just want to tell you a little anecdote.
00:02:44.340 That was in January 2019.
00:02:49.340 And we had at that time a by-election in Burnaby, B.C.
00:02:55.340 And one of our candidates was Laura Lynn Thompson.
00:03:00.340 You may know her.
00:03:02.340 And she did very well.
00:03:04.340 But during that by-election, I had the opportunity to be on the mainstream media, CTV.
00:03:14.340 And I did an interview about the party of philosophy and also the by-election.
00:03:21.340 And as you know, Laura Lynn at that time, and still like you, was fighting against Soji.
00:03:30.340 And I didn't know what was Soji at that time.
00:03:35.340 I didn't know anything about that.
00:03:37.340 So, when we approved Laura Lynn as a candidate, she said,
00:03:42.340 maybe I'll put you in some trouble, Maxime, because I'm doing a fight here in B.C.
00:03:48.340 It's an important one.
00:03:49.340 And she explained to me all that ideology that they were teaching.
00:03:55.340 And I said, you know, you're doing the right thing.
00:03:58.340 I believe that, you know, a girl is a girl and a boy is a boy.
00:04:01.340 There's only two sex.
00:04:03.340 But during that interview with CTV, the lady said, you had a crazy candidate in B.C.
00:04:13.340 And she's anti-trans.
00:04:15.340 That is the narrative of the mainstream media.
00:04:19.340 And I said, no.
00:04:20.340 How come are you saying that?
00:04:22.340 No.
00:04:23.340 She believes in people.
00:04:26.340 And she believes that a girl is a girl and a boy is a boy.
00:04:29.340 So, no, she's not.
00:04:31.340 You can do what you want with your body when you're an adult.
00:04:36.340 But what they're doing to our kids right now, it's not right.
00:04:44.340 Pushing hormone therapies and things like that and trying and doing that sometime without the consent of their parents.
00:04:53.340 That's not our society.
00:04:56.340 That's an ideology that is everywhere.
00:04:59.340 In school board, school, at the provincial, federal, municipal of all.
00:05:05.340 So, Laura didn't did well at that election.
00:05:08.340 She had 10% of the vote for a new political party.
00:05:11.340 That was great.
00:05:12.340 But since that time, we are still doing the same battle.
00:05:17.340 But more and more people understand.
00:05:20.340 We have the common sense on our side.
00:05:23.340 And that's important.
00:05:25.340 But what is the point?
00:05:28.340 What is the goal?
00:05:30.340 If we have the best ideas, the best solutions for our country, and if we keep them for ourselves, nothing will happen.
00:05:41.340 We need to be out there.
00:05:43.340 We need to stand up and speak out about what we believe.
00:05:47.340 That's what you are doing.
00:05:49.340 Action for Canada.
00:05:51.340 Action.
00:05:52.340 Taking action.
00:05:54.340 Doing everything that you can to speak to your people, to your friends, to your family, to your co-workers.
00:06:02.340 That's the kind of a revolution.
00:06:04.340 A common sense revolution.
00:06:07.340 But we are winning that battle step by step.
00:06:10.340 More and more people understand that, you know, this country has been built, and if you read our constitution, under the supremacy of God and the rule of law.
00:06:25.340 Supremacy of God and the rule of law.
00:06:30.340 So, we need to respect that.
00:06:33.340 That's our constitution.
00:06:35.340 Do we have the rule of law in our country?
00:06:39.340 The rule of law, what is the rule of law?
00:06:42.340 Everybody must be equal before the law.
00:06:45.340 We don't have that anymore.
00:06:47.340 Just remember, COVID-19, what they did to Canadians who decided not to have the two shots.
00:06:56.340 That was not fair.
00:06:59.340 We didn't have the right to travel across this country by plane.
00:07:02.340 We were not able to go to a restaurant.
00:07:05.340 That was not our country.
00:07:07.340 But, because we were out there during COVID-19, we did rallies all across the country in small towns, in big cities.
00:07:15.340 We were able to shift the public opinion, to change the opinion.
00:07:22.340 We were able to do that, and now we don't have any lockdowns, we don't have any curfew, because the majority of Canadians understand that that was not based on our constitution and our rights.
00:07:37.340 And that was unfair, illegal, immoral.
00:07:41.340 So, I believe that these establishment politicians won't be able to impose any lockdowns this fall, because we have the majority on our side.
00:07:49.340 And these politicians are doing politics based on survey, polling and focus groups, not based on conviction.
00:07:56.340 So, we must do the same thing with SOGI.
00:07:59.340 We must do the same thing.
00:08:01.340 Speaking about that, educating our people, the more people will understand what is happening in our school.
00:08:07.340 These establishment politicians will want to be elected and re-elected, and they will stop that.
00:08:14.340 The public opinion.
00:08:15.340 The public opinion.
00:08:16.340 That's the key.
00:08:17.340 And that's why we are here today.
00:08:19.340 If we want to have the public opinion on our side, we must be able to speak, like Burry did.
00:08:28.340 Freedom of speech.
00:08:30.340 You know, that's why we are hearing from the Supreme Court of Canada.
00:08:35.340 That's our most important freedom.
00:08:38.340 Freedom of speech.
00:08:39.340 If you cannot tell what you believe, you won't be able to have a better society.
00:08:45.340 So, we are here to support Burry, to support our freedoms, to support common sense.
00:08:53.340 And, I can tell you, I hope, I really hope that these judges here at the Supreme Court will understand that we need to be free to say what we believe in.
00:09:08.340 Openly.
00:09:09.340 Openly.
00:09:10.340 With passion and conviction.
00:09:12.340 Without having the fear of somebody that will persecute us because we're saying something that they don't like.
00:09:22.340 But that's a free society.
00:09:24.340 It's not important for me if my opponent doesn't like what I'm saying.
00:09:29.340 I'm saying things that I believe deeply.
00:09:34.340 I want us to respect our constitution.
00:09:36.340 And I believe that the more we speak about what we believe, the more support we will have.
00:09:42.340 That's the key.
00:09:43.340 That's the key of that battle.
00:09:45.340 There are two battles that we must do.
00:09:48.340 And Burry is doing one for us in front of the court.
00:09:52.340 We need to have the court on our side saying that we are still in a free country here.
00:09:58.340 But there's the other battle that I just said, changing the public opinion.
00:10:05.340 Moving the public opinion.
00:10:07.340 That's our battle.
00:10:08.340 That's your battle.
00:10:11.340 And we started that battle a couple of years ago.
00:10:14.340 And now all across the country, there's chapters, Action for Canada.
00:10:20.340 People call them ordinary Canadians.
00:10:23.340 But I like to say extraordinary Canadians.
00:10:26.340 Extraordinary Canadians.
00:10:28.340 Who are not afraid.
00:10:31.340 Are not afraid to speak about their values.
00:10:35.340 Yes.
00:10:36.340 God.
00:10:37.340 Speaking about God.
00:10:38.340 Oh my God.
00:10:39.340 In 2022, you must be a crazy politician.
00:10:43.340 But it's in our constitution.
00:10:45.340 Supremacy of God.
00:10:48.340 And the rule of law.
00:10:50.340 We must not be scared to speak about our values.
00:10:53.340 And that's why I'm here with you today.
00:10:56.340 And I'm very proud.
00:10:57.340 Very proud that you are doing that fight with us.
00:11:00.340 And I can tell you, it's only the beginning.
00:11:03.340 And my main message today, stay strong.
00:11:07.340 Stay strong and free.
00:11:10.340 And don't hesitate to engage in a conversation with other people that you know may not share your views.
00:11:19.340 But step by step, because it's all based on common sense, we will win the argument.
00:11:25.340 But we must not do any compromise with our values.
00:11:30.340 No compromise.
00:11:32.340 Being out there, standing up, speaking out.
00:11:35.340 And we will win that battle of ideas.
00:11:40.340 We will win that common sense revolution together.
00:11:43.340 Have the courage of your conviction.
00:11:48.340 Because yes, today, we need to have courage to speak about what we believe.
00:11:54.340 But we have the courage of our conviction.
00:11:57.340 And that's why we will win that battle.
00:12:00.340 Thank you very much.
00:12:01.340 Stay strong and free.
00:12:02.340 Stay strong and free.
00:12:03.340 Thank you very much.
00:12:07.340 Thank you.
