00:03:21.460we have a lot of different things that you can find.
00:03:24.080You can navigate through our website here.
00:03:27.520We have at the very bottom here, most popular pages.
00:03:31.140These are quick links with regards to some of the things that we have been dealing with, our current issues as well.
00:03:38.460Just a little plug here. You see food security.
00:03:40.960I have I also known as Prepper Dan and I do a series of videos, both available here in Rumble and YouTube on basically how to prepare, prepare for difficult days.
00:03:53.320We have an incredible, incredible homeschool department led by Doris Livingstone.
00:03:58.640And if there's a time today for homeschooling, today is the time.
00:04:04.060Every Wednesday, we have Empower Hours.
00:07:30.440And we pray specifically for our Action for Canada team members, our prayer requests, our departments.
00:07:37.460And this is a real prayer warrior army.
00:07:40.080And this has been going on also for four years.
00:07:42.680And then also we have all kinds of programs that we run through this department, parenting conferences, family conferences, youth and leadership programs.
00:07:52.280So then I mentioned our church webinars, too.
00:07:54.160For those of you that are registered for this webinar today, you will be getting an email in the next day or two with this recorded webinar.
00:08:03.220We're going to just edit it a little bit.
00:08:05.820And for the past few webinars as well, you can access these on our church resource page under church webinars.
00:08:13.480And we did take a little bit of a pause for some time.
00:08:16.860And that's one of the reasons for that is because I, well, last winter I spent about 10 weeks in a hospital.
00:08:26.100I was fairly sick. I pretty much almost died three times.
00:08:29.860One time, you know, ambulance dispatch was telling my wife how to do CPR on me.
00:08:34.040But I came down with, you know, pancreatic cancer and I had my pancreas and spleen removed and gallbladder and about six other internal organs.
00:08:43.180And I really shouldn't be here. Really, I'm walking. Miracle.
00:08:46.220but I now have an insulin pump and, you know, they said I never gained weight. You know,
00:08:52.020I lost about 50, 55 pounds, but I've gained about 35 pounds of that. And people keep telling me I
00:08:57.420look good. Now they're not telling me I'm good looking, but they say I look good. So I'm going
00:09:00.860to go with that. Okay. And so now that I've gotten some of this strength back, you know,
00:09:05.340we're getting back into the swing of things and we're going to, you know, as the Lord gives us
00:09:10.340strength each and every day, we're going to keep up these webinars. Now on that, in just a few
00:09:14.300moments i'm going to launch a poll because i would like to know when is the best day that we'd like
00:09:20.140to have these webinars once a month but i'd like to know when is the best day of the week uh for
00:09:24.800you to meet live the best time given your time zone and also if you have any topics that action
00:09:30.520for canada can you know do some research and get some guests related to this uh we would like to
00:09:36.200know that as well okay so just be on lookout for that poll as i launch it here in the next little
00:09:41.160little bit next and last um i want to know um some of you may want to uh join action for canada
00:09:49.380what's that all about how can you be involved some of you that are in ministry may say you know
00:09:54.460i'm too busy to address some of these topics you're talking about but i may have people in
00:09:59.380my church that may be interested in that and so we will work with you um you know we can set up
00:10:05.360a bit of a chapter. And maybe it's like the 15 minute cities, or maybe it's, it's the SOGI
00:10:12.000curriculums in your school, or maybe it's, it's, it's one of the topics that we have some of the
00:10:17.300current issues. And so we will work with you in developing a team. We'll teach you how to do
00:10:22.260research. We'll teach you like where your towns, communities are on certain issues and how to
00:10:28.240address those in a biblical way. That's why we exist. All right. And so we, we want to work with
00:10:34.480you on all of those things. So with our meeting today, we've asked Pastor Matt Truella because
00:10:43.000he's well-versed in what the Bible says about handling tough issues when the government tries
00:10:48.200to step in. And as you know, a few months ago, Bill C-9 was enacted. There were tens of thousands,
00:10:56.420if not hundreds of thousands of letters, cards, phone calls, emails sent to our elected officials,
00:11:02.500and it's like they just blew us off and a lot of clergy people reached out to us and said well what
00:11:07.920what what should i fear how will this impact me and we have a personal experience to share with
00:11:15.640you before we launch uh our our speaker today because back in june our our founder tanya god
00:11:23.320received a phone call on a sunday evening at her door and it was the rcmp and uh i i just want to
00:11:30.180I will put the link to this in the chat.
00:11:36.520Let me just go back here to the beginning.
00:11:40.760Let me just, like I've got a sunset here.
00:11:43.580But when you look at that gentleman here, I mean, he looks like he just crawled out of bed,
00:11:47.840but he identified himself as a Royal Canadian Man of Police with his partner.
00:11:52.320His partner never said a word in the whole eight-minute interview.
00:11:55.340and they're basically saying somebody complained about something that you posted and we're here to
00:12:00.980investigate you and you're not under arrest yet and he kept saying that well we're not taking you
00:12:06.560away yet you're not under arrest yet so this is the thought police because they don't like what
00:12:13.100you're posting this is kind of like what in the uk what's been happening so tanya's first reaction
00:12:18.200was are you real like you don't even look like a cop look and like in our core meeting she was
00:12:24.080telling us, look how frumpy this guy is. So she actually called the RCMP and said, so this is the
00:12:29.720guy that showed up. This is his badge number. Is he real? Is this a real thing? And they're like,
00:12:34.380yep, he's a real officer. And yep, what he's investigating is actually real. And so she was
00:12:41.360shot. And so she kept saying, whatever you have, give it to me in writing. And he kept saying,
00:12:49.240well, you know, do you want to come to the station and talk about it? She's like, no,
00:12:51.660of course not. And so three months later, nothing ever came of it. And so on September the 10th,
00:12:58.700she posted the interview because she recorded it. And as you can see right now, there's 1.6
00:13:04.180million views just on her Twitter account. Since then, Tanya has done 12 or 14 interviews
00:13:10.560with podcasters all across North America and Europe. And she's got invites to do even more.
00:13:18.660it has gone all over the world. People are saying, what is going on in Canada since Bill C9 has passed?
00:13:28.140And pastors are like, should we be afraid? How does this affect us?
00:13:34.920And so I'm pleased today that we have asked Pastor Matt Troella to be our guest.
00:13:39.840He's been a guest with us before. He spoke at one of our homeschooling webinars with Doris Day.
00:13:46.540Sorry, Doris Day. Doris Livingstone. And that was very well received.
00:13:52.040And then he was a guest on our Empower Hour a few months later.
00:13:55.900Well, Pastor Matt Troella is the pastor and founder of Mercy Seat Christian Church in Wisconsin, just outside of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, I believe.
00:14:04.540And so I'm going to be putting the link to his church as well.
00:14:08.520And Pastor Matt has a number of good resources.
00:14:12.080Many of them are downloadable, printable that you will benefit from.
00:14:17.460And he's going to be speaking tonight or tonight, today.
00:14:22.660I've had his book for quite some time.
00:14:25.060As a matter of fact, The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates.
00:14:27.520We have referred to this book as Leadership in Action for Canada numerous times.
00:14:34.500And I will also put the link to this in the chat, but it will also be in the video description that you will be getting.
00:14:41.420So I highly, highly recommend that you get this book and you familiarize yourself with what exactly does this mean?
00:14:55.520And what is our duty to them when they start ruling against what God has said?
00:15:04.120You know, if they start telling us what to do that does not go with what God tells us to do.
00:15:11.420So without any further ado, Pastor Matt, thank you so much for being with us today.
00:15:16.320I want to just share with you that if you have any questions, I encourage you to put them in.
00:15:22.300Let's see. Is there a Q&A? There is no Q&A, but you may want to put them in the chat.
00:15:27.580But we will have a live Q&A at the end.
00:15:31.540So maybe write down some questions and we will do a Q&A at the end.
00:15:35.740So, Pastor Matt, thank you again for being with us.
00:15:38.200God bless you. And we look forward to your presentation.
00:15:41.420Thank you very much. And I'm glad you're still on this side of the river with us, Dan. God bless you.
00:15:48.940And it's really good to be out with all the rest of you here, too.
00:15:52.580What I plan on doing is just giving you a short history of the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates and giving some application, both in history and also, you know, Dan mentioned COVID all the way up to this time in our lives.
00:16:10.120but it's been a while since we prayed at the beginning
00:16:14.620so I just want to pray again real quick
00:16:16.340Lord I just ask that you help me to set forth
00:16:44.540So I think it's massively important that we bring Christian thought to every area of life, including the area of civil government.
00:16:51.780And this doctrine of the lesser magistrate does exactly that.
00:16:56.560It brings Christian thought to the civil government realm, both for the magistrates themselves and also for the people.
00:17:04.420And just to clarify, when I'm talking about a magistrate, I'm talking about someone who possesses lawful public authority, whether by election or by appointment.
00:17:16.480Someone who possesses lawful public authority, either by election or appointment.
00:17:23.860That's what a magistrate is when we're talking about the interposition of the lesser magistrates.
00:17:29.900and um i wrote the book um and published it and it's um sold over 150 000 copies now
00:17:38.920for some reason this isn't going forward dan which isn't good uh let's see here
00:17:47.060i should come back out yeah maybe just restart it yeah that's what i'll do stop sharing
00:18:56.880And I hope this little talk, if you haven't read it yet, what's your appetite to take time to read it?
00:19:04.020I kept it short and without filler because I wanted people to read it.
00:19:09.780So what the doctrine simply is, is that when the higher ranking civil authority makes unjust or immoral law, policy or court opinion,
00:19:18.460the God-given right and duty of the lesser ranking civil authority is not to obey.
00:19:23.880and, if necessary, to actively resist the superior civil authority.
00:19:30.820So that's what the doctrine is in a nutshell, and the doctrine is found in history and in Scripture.
00:19:38.760It's found in history in non-Christian, non-Jewish lands, showing that it's natural to man.0.52
00:19:45.440Emperor Trajan was giving a sword to one of his subordinates,0.97
00:19:49.600and he said to his subordinate, use this sword against my enemies.
00:19:53.360if I give righteous commands. But if I give unrighteous commands, use it against me. That's
00:19:59.480really the doctrine in a nutshell. If the superior ranking civil authority acts lawlessly, the duty
00:20:05.240of the lesser authorities is not blithe compliance. Rather, their duty is what we call interposition.
00:20:12.360They're to use their lawful office to stand between the people and the tyrant superior civil
00:20:18.760authority and understand how important their inner position is i'm talking about these lesser
00:20:24.820authorities and the examples unfortunately i'm going to be giving you today are from america
00:20:30.320because i live here in america but um you know all governments in western civilization have
00:20:38.760lesser authorities and you need to ascertain who those are in in your country but understand when
00:20:45.480the superior ranking civil authority makes unjust or immoral law, policy, or court opinion,
00:20:51.660they count on the blithe compliance of the lesser authorities in order to get their evil down to
00:20:59.200the fabric of society. An example in America would be like the Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade.
00:21:06.200You can murder the pre-born. All of the states went along with that. Their duty was interposition.0.93
00:21:11.340They should have said no. That's an immoral ruling. We will not murder anyone here in our state.
00:21:18.760Unfortunately, what they did is they all hid behind the skirt of the court and said, well, I agree with you.
00:21:24.400Abortion should be outlawed. That's what the politicians would tell us.
00:21:28.520But the Supreme Court has ruled and all we can do is obey. And that's a lie.
00:21:33.320And that's what the doctrine of the lesser magistrate does is it removes that mask, that lie off the face of the politician who wants to use the Supreme Court, in our case here in America, as justification for their action against the evil that's been done by the government.
00:21:52.040um so anyways uh very important to understand that they count on the blithe compliance of
00:21:58.340lesser authorities you have a duty to um establish relationship with your civil authorities
00:22:05.920locally provincially and teach them this doctrine and that they understand their
00:22:12.360duty in the sight of christ and so let me continue on here so the doctrine was first
00:22:17.220formalized in 1550 in magdeburg germany this is you know you can find the doctrine in the old
00:22:24.500testament the new testament you can find it throughout history history of the of christianity
00:22:30.100and prior to the history of christianity but it wasn't formalized as a christian doctrine until
00:22:36.3801550 in magdeburg germany and the churchmen there wrote the doctrine because their city
00:22:43.200came into conflict with the emperor. And so they wrote this confession to show that their
00:22:49.260magistrates were right to defy the emperor. The story about Magdeburg is a story
00:22:54.500of a city that defied an empire and won. In 1550, Charles marched upon Magdeburg and there was a
00:23:07.04013-month siege. The Magdeburgers ended up winning. Over 4,000 of Charles's men were killed.
00:26:08.620yeah that's fine fine so the doctrine of the lesser magistrate is rooted in the historic
00:26:15.740christian doctrine of interposition interposition interposition is where you stand in the gap
00:26:21.300between the oppressor and his intended victim um one of the things that i was involved in years
00:26:27.100ago was interposing at the doors of death camps here in America, where they murdered the pre-born.
00:26:33.980I did about 15 months in jail for interposing on behalf of the pre-born.
00:26:39.920And you can interpose one of two ways, either physically or verbally, or actually both.
00:26:47.700And in that case, we were interposing physically. And I have these Bible verses down there. I have
00:26:54.700many more in the book. Ezekiel 22 talks about how there's evil in the land. God says, I looked for a
00:27:00.660man to stand in the gap, but I could not find one, he said. And therefore, he brought his judgment
00:27:08.200upon the land. And one of the groups of people he looked to interpose were the princes, and the
00:27:13.380princes were the lesser magistrates of that day. So understand the interposition of the lesser
00:27:17.900magistrate is so paramount that it can actually abate the just judgment of God in a nation.
00:27:24.700when they do interpose another example i have is in exodus the hebrew midwives remember they
00:27:30.780were told to kill the male hebrew children instead they interposed on their behalf and did not kill
00:27:36.460them and then another example i have is saul's foolish edict got us first samuel 14 remember his
00:27:44.620son um jonathan started fighting with the philistines saul learns about it joins in the
00:27:51.360battle and he makes his dopey decree, which is no one shall eat anything until the battle's over.
00:27:57.400Well, Jonathan didn't hear about it. He ate something. It comes to the attention of Saul
00:28:01.440afterwards, and he's ready to literally kill his own son for violating the king's law and order.
00:28:10.020And it says in the scripture there that the people themselves rose up, interposed, and said,
00:28:16.400not one hair shall be touched on the head of him who brought Israel such a great victory today.
00:28:21.360When it comes to the inner position, when it comes to the lesser magistrates, they use their lawful office to interpose between the tyrant's superior civil authority and the people that they represent.
00:33:10.260All of our children had to read Polycraticus when they were 13, 14 years old, 15.
00:33:16.180You know, some are a little smarter than others.
00:33:18.600And so we have this quote from John of Salisbury regarding the lesser authorities.
00:33:24.440He said, loyal shoulders should sustain the power of the ruler so long as it's exercised in subjection to God and follows his ordinances.
00:33:33.760But if it resists and opposes the divine commandments and wishes to make me share in its war against God, then with unrestrained voice I answer back that God must be preferred before any man on earth.
00:33:45.620And again, it's the doctrine of the lesser magistrate.
00:33:49.600Laws made which is contrary to the law of God.
00:33:52.080And as I'll get to in a minute, or laws made which supersedes the limits given to civil authority, both in scripture and by a nation's founding documents, they are to be posed on that basis also.
00:34:08.000In fact, this book by Alice Baldwin, it's another worthy read, as is Polycraticus, The New England Clergy in the American Revolution.
00:34:18.560she said it was not left to rulers to be oppressive and arbitrary god from whom their
00:34:25.920power ultimately was derived and that's an important concept that anyone in the three
00:34:32.600great governments which are church government family government civil government the authority
00:34:39.120or the power that they possess is derived from god in other words it's delegated authority and
00:36:33.460But he says in part there, the states who are parties there to parties to the U.S. Constitution have the right and are in duty bound to interpose.
00:36:42.560There's that word for arresting the progress of evil, the evil being done by the federal government and for maintaining within their respective limits the authorities, rights and liberties appertaining to them.
00:36:55.580So our founders actually put it within our government polity, this doctrine of lesser magistrate and understand our founders here in America didn't want authority to rest in the hands of one man.
00:37:08.100They were throwing off a king, getting rid of a monarchy.
00:37:36.980And when it comes to state government or civil government within a true federalism, you have multiple levels of government, multiple branches of government, so that if any one branch or branches begins to play the tyrant, another branch or branches will check them, will interpose against them.
00:37:56.760And that's what's going on here with Virginia and Kentucky.
00:38:03.380Thomas Jefferson actually wrote the Kentucky Resolution.
00:38:06.420Again, another gem, worth reading the whole thing if you ever get a chance.
00:38:11.460And in there he said that whensoever the general government, talking about the federal government, assumes undelegated powers.
00:38:18.800In other words, powers not granted to it in the Constitution.
00:38:22.320Its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.
00:38:26.760And that's the proper thinking for here in America. Unfortunately, what they all do, almost all of them do, talking about the magistrates, the politicians, is they say, oh, he should take care of that.
00:38:41.000They do everything they can not to assume responsibility. And it's sickening to watch. So I'm in Wisconsin, by the way, welcome from Cheeseland.
00:38:52.620And in 1852, we had a law called the Federal Fugitive Slave Act.
00:39:02.180And in 1854, there was a runaway slave captured here in Wisconsin.
00:39:10.320People actually gathered at the jail and broke him out of the jail.
00:39:14.000He made it back on the Underground Railroad and died of old age in Canada, your country, 26 years later.
00:39:21.260His name was Joshua Glover. It's a phenomenal story. This became a huge battle of jurisdictions between our state and the federal government. Our state defied the entire federal legislature and defied the entire federal judiciary, including the Supreme Court.
00:39:38.900and our state Supreme Court, not just our state legislature, defied the federal judiciary.
00:39:46.280And one of the resolves that they put out are resolutions they published, our legislature
00:39:51.520in 1859, as they said, resolved that this assumption of jurisdiction by the federal
00:39:55.800judiciary in a said case and without process is an act of undelegated power and therefore
00:40:01.540without authority, void and of no force.
00:40:03.840They're talking about the guy with the beard there.0.98
00:40:05.780um they're talking about him old age i'm forgetting his name right now it's pathetic0.73
00:40:12.740so anyway a sherman booth sorry about that sherman booth when he heard about joshua glover
00:40:20.040being arrested he was a newspaper man in milwaukee near where i live he printed a bunch
00:40:25.080of flyers jumped on a horse and rode his horse up and down the streets of um milwaukee yelling
00:40:31.580at the top of his lungs. A man's liberty is at stake. Gather at the courthouse at 2 p.m.
00:40:38.8805,000 people gathered. Booth himself said later he was stunned how many showed up.
00:40:45.320And that's when the people finally gathered together and broke Joshua Glover out of jail.
00:40:52.460The sheriff of Racine, where Joshua Glover was arrested, arrived by boat with 120 men at the
00:40:59.620Port of Milwaukee, and they marched to the jail.
00:41:03.640And Joshua Glover was sprung from jail.
00:41:06.420And when they brought him out, he had been beat bloody by the federal marshals.
00:41:12.660They put him on the back of a flat bed wagon.
00:41:16.940He looked out over the sea of people and he said two words, glory, hallelujah.
00:41:24.220And it's just a phenomenal story, the interposition of our state.
00:41:27.760It all became moot because of the Civil War.
00:41:31.180This was never parsed out in the judiciary or legislatures, both sides holding that they were the ones that should be listened to until the Civil War.
00:41:43.200And the Civil War, of course, made it moot.
00:41:45.680But here's what they also said in 1859.
00:41:48.020Resolved that the government formed by the Constitution of the United States was not the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to itself.
00:41:57.760But that, as in all other cases of compact, and that's what the Constitution has, a compact in various states and the federal government, among parties having no common judge, each party has an equal right to judge for itself.
00:42:11.980And so our state was right, and we still have monuments up, even though 99% of Wisconsinites know nothing of this history.
00:42:18.740You can still find plaques up in various parts of our state talking about this very matter of the Sherman Booth case and Joshua Glover.
00:42:27.760One of our Supreme Court justices at the time, Abram Smith, he said this, he said, I know well its consequences and appreciate fully the criticism to which I may be subjected.
00:42:39.180Talking about their inner position, their defiance to SCOTUS.
00:42:43.440He said, but I believe most sincerely and solemnly that the last hope of free, representative and responsible government rests upon the state's sovereignties and fidelity of state officers to their double allegiance.
00:42:55.820By double allegiance, he means they have an allegiance to the U.S. Constitution and to their state constitution, as he says, to the state and federal government, and so believing I cannot hesitate in performing a clear and indispensable duty.
00:43:11.080He's talking about the duty to defy and to interpose, and that's what he did.
00:43:15.740I'm not going to go into the Suffolk Resolve's very great history about how resistance always seems to start at a local level.
00:43:30.880This is the state of Illinois. It has 102 counties.
00:43:34.820That red county there is Madison County.
00:43:37.420I'm in Wisconsin, just above Illinois.
00:43:39.320During COVID, our governors would act like little emperors and come out every 72 hours with some new quote-unquote laws and policies regarding COVID.
00:43:52.240And in May of 2020, the governor of Illinois, he decided to come out with his latest little decree, which was no businessman can open their business anywhere in the state of Illinois till I say they can open their business.
00:44:10.660And now if you open your business before I say, you're going to be arrested and charged with a crime.
00:44:16.000Well, the next day, in a state with 102 counties, only one county, Madison County, sits right on the Mississippi River, across from St. Louis, they gathered their county board together and they put out their own decree.
00:44:30.440And their decree said our businessmen are free to reopen now. And then they cautioned the governor and the state legislature not to interfere with their businessmen and stated to them that they would use all their power to protect their businessmen.
00:44:46.000Well, of course, that went over like a lead balloon with the governor.
00:44:50.620You know, he was a socialist dog, and his name's Pritzker.
00:44:55.200And so he held a press conference talking about how he was going to remove all their federal money, all their state money,
00:45:01.240had a whole laundry list of bad things he was going to do to Madison County if they didn't get with the program.
00:45:06.700He held that same press conference three days in a row.
00:45:10.640The men at Madison County didn't flinch.
00:45:16.000And then seven days after Pritzker had made that decree about the businessmen, the Illinois State Police put out a press release saying we will not arrest any businessman anywhere in the state who opens their business before Governor Pritzker says they can.
00:45:33.440They had decided to stay with the men, stand with the men at Madison County in interposition.
00:45:40.200So understand, if it hadn't been for the inner position, by the way, the next day, Governor Pritzker rescinded his order.
00:45:47.780Understand, when the tyrant acts, if no one takes a stand against the tyrant, people don't see as tyranny for really what it is.
00:45:57.580When bad things are going on by government leaders, suffering can be involved in the process.
00:46:04.660But understand this, if no one stands, then in defiance of the lawlessness of the civil authority, then the civil authority is able to move on to building the next plank of their tyranny.
00:46:22.320If someone does stand, like Madison County did, then the superior civil authority is one of two choices. He can either stay in his lair and rescind his dopey order, or it brings him out of his lair and he shows his fangs.
00:46:40.480and then men more readily see him for the tyrant that he is.
00:46:46.160And so that usually involves suffering by some people along the way
00:46:50.920in order for that process to work out.
00:46:54.120And understand also, the man who headed up Madison County at that time
00:47:01.640He had read my book on the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate two years earlier,
00:47:05.720had taught it to the entire county board,
00:47:07.560and they were a burr in the saddle to Governor Pritzker, not over just that decree, but many
00:47:12.920decrees that he made during COVID. That's how important this doctrine is. And there's Governor
00:47:18.600Pritzker, the tyrant dog. And this is another example. This is a little red down there in the0.99
00:47:27.360left and down there in the corner. That's Newton County, Missouri. When Joe Biden took office,
00:47:34.540He was going to use executive orders and other decrees to infringe on our Second Amendment rights, which Americans hold dear, as they should.
00:47:42.380And this little county out of the whole country brought their county board together and they made an ordinance, not just a decree, but an ordinance.
00:47:53.780And the ordinance stated that if anyone tried to infringe upon their Second Amendment rights of the citizens in their county, pardon me, the first thing was any law made to infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of their citizens is null void and no authority in Milwaukee, pardon me, in Newton County.
00:48:19.980And the second part was any county official who sided with the federal government in trying to disarm their citizens would immediately be removed from office or fired from their job.
00:48:36.300And number three, it instructed the sheriff to arrest any federal agents or otherwise that came into their county to infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of their citizens.
00:48:46.140This is the doctrine of the lesser magistrate in action.
00:48:48.980If you go to our website, defytirants.com, and you scroll through things, we have tons of examples from current over the last 10 years of interposition by lesser authorities.
00:53:18.100The number one slogan that I've come across all my years is the one, we should just preach the gospel.
00:53:26.140So I instruct people, you need to dismantle that, not only in the mind of your churchman, if he's that way, but also in the mind of your fellow Christians, many of who think that way.
00:53:36.420And the way that we dismantle that little saying, that little slogan, we should just preach the gospel, which is meant, by the way, to belittle you, to make you feel unspiritual, put a wet blanket over you and keep you on their hamster, religious hamster wheel to nowhere, where we learn about the word of God again and again, but never apply it.
01:02:23.660One of the things I didn't really touch on as much, because when you were talking, Dave, yeah, you know, when the civil government makes law, policy or court opinion contrary to the law and word of God,
01:02:40.760men must take a stand and um but the flip which i did mention but very briefly was that if they
01:02:48.880exceed the limits of their authority um then they must be withstood so like what was going on with
01:02:56.560covid was outside their authority and they were just making up laws they would call them they
01:03:47.620And so he said that if the magistrate tells us to put pinwheels on our heads in order to go into the grocery store, we obey and put pinwheels on our heads.
01:06:31.420I had taught the doctrine to our county board.
01:06:34.080That's 26 individuals. Our sheriff was there. State legislators were there.
01:06:41.240And so when COVID came along, six weeks into it, our county put out our first resolution saying we're not doing anything the governor's telling us to do.
01:06:52.480And then we put out a second one shortly after that, where all of the lesser authorities upped their oath to our U.S. and state constitution.
01:07:02.620and um and then the third thing we our county did was we're a very republican county we0.97
01:07:09.860rebuked and kicked in the butt all of the republicans because they weren't stopping0.97
01:07:14.840what our democratic governor was doing rather they were exploiting it for their own political0.99
01:07:20.780purposes and where i really ran into trouble with my county officials was when they kept taking the
01:07:26.880money because they bought covid off with two mountains a mountain of lies and a mountain of
01:07:32.860money and when the government officials saw that money they were like you know thorin in um lord
01:07:41.640of the rings when he sees all the gold you know they're just like yeah glaze over you know and
01:07:48.920oh we so they told me well we can't give up them if we don't take the money someone else will
01:07:54.060And I said, let them. We should be a light on a hill to all the other counties and not take it because the money is used to convince people of the legitimacy of the fiction that they're teaching them.
01:08:06.900So it's wrong to take that money and use it for those things, especially it's even hypocritical when you've already issued these resolutions.
01:08:17.180So anyway, extremely important to understand when they exceed the limits of their authority, they need to be resisted.
01:08:25.540They're limited by our U.S. Constitution.
01:08:28.640They're limited by our state constitution.
01:08:44.220and maybe maybe pastor dan can weigh in on this too i've been in deep conversations with my pastor
01:08:51.880who only kept the church closed for about two weeks and then people started meeting underground
01:08:56.880and then they got a little bit more bold okay but i've been uh explaining to him that canada
01:09:03.240is a christian nation and ought to be governed as such and it's my understanding that canada as well
01:09:09.380as the United States, has Christian foundation in our constitution going back a long way. But
01:09:15.880his question always is, well, what does it mean to be a Christian nation? And he seems to have0.67
01:09:23.100this idea that I have, that you can call yourself a Christian, but just because you're a Cadillac
01:09:28.800in the, doesn't mean that, you know, I can't remember that saying, but anyway, it doesn't
01:09:33.540mean because you're sitting in a church that you're a Christian, or because you're living in
01:09:37.140a Christian nation, you're a Christian. So all of this ties in with this lesser magistrate's idea
01:09:45.760in my mind that we have a responsibility to be educating the public on these matters so that
01:09:52.840they have a firm foundation on which to stand. But I want to know how to answer my pastor when
01:09:57.680he says, I don't think Canada is a Christian nation. To me, in its simplest form, a Christian0.97
01:10:06.800nation as a nation that simply acknowledges Christ. And all of the nations in Europe have
01:10:13.120thrown that out of their constitutions over in Europe. Until recently, Hungary actually returned0.88
01:10:20.820Christ to the founding documents. Here in Wisconsin, pardon me, here in America,
01:10:29.400In our U.S. Constitution, there's nothing overtly said about Christ at all.
01:10:37.500But understand, when you read the minutes of the Constitutional Convention that took place, which I've read, it's volumes and volumes long, and I've read quite a bit of it.
01:10:48.180And I noticed that the representatives from the different states, the reason they didn't want anything about Christ or Christianity in the U.S. Constitution was because of the fact that they already had Christ and Christianity in their state constitutions.
01:11:07.340And they were only delegating very few powers to this federal government, to this national government.
01:11:18.060And so they didn't want, you can read the minutes came up again and again, they didn't want them talking about Christianity at all, because that was the domain of the states.
01:11:29.120All they were delegating to the federal government was very few things, which, of course, now has all been turned on its head.
01:11:36.360Now, the federal government thinks it rules everything here, and everybody thinks you just got to comply with them, but people are beginning to see the insanity of that, and that you have to take a stand, and interposition needs to take place, and what our founders originally envisioned, they can see clearly when they hear about the doctrine of the lesser magistrate.
01:16:47.100And a very practical level, like here, I don't know what you guys have there.
01:16:50.680We have sheriffs. And like a pastor here would meet with a sheriff and see if he understands his duty in the sight of Christ to interpose against the evil that they're doing and instruct him in his duty if he doesn't know about it.
01:17:06.660And then to just ask him point blank. So if I preach a sermon from the word of God, dealing with homo sex, what will you do?1.00
01:17:16.680and yeah what will they do we did this during covid met with sheriffs um over this very matter1.00
01:17:26.500with all the things they were telling them they had to enforce and explaining to them they don't
01:17:33.360have to enforce them and we did see the interposition of over 500 sheriffs we have over
01:17:38.1003 000 in our nation and about 500 of them um interposed and refused to go along with it
01:17:45.480um so the churchman then knows when he preaches if that guy's going to show up and arrest him or
01:17:52.860not and um but i don't know how it works there but you want to see if the more local authorities
01:17:59.960um will stand for what's right or whether they're just rubber stampers and
01:18:06.680you know don't care about anybody but himself yeah yeah and that's what we at action for
01:18:14.100canada have been doing educating our people to go start at the local community and meet with our
01:18:21.480local representative and meet with our council members uh municipal members school board trustees
01:18:28.140and educate them yeah yeah very important that's great yep and you know even people who go along
01:18:37.420this stuff at first as the tyranny continues to grow more and more people will defect um precisely
01:18:44.640because you took the time to go and have that conversation and get to know them yeah yeah
01:18:50.600yeah well thank you for the time here i really appreciate it yes thank you pastor matt um i'd
01:18:57.960like to close off in prayer and um i i don't know i have i'm just waiting to hear from tanya how the
01:19:03.620court thing went i haven't heard a thing yet so yeah anyway we'll keep in prayer but i want to
01:19:11.120thank you so much for making the time to be with us once again and uh as i said we'll be sending
01:19:16.080out the recording to each and every one of you that uh that registered and uh we we hope to meet
01:19:21.800again next month i think i've got the guest down pat for something it's going to be a very important
01:19:27.760topic but i want to thank you all for being here so heavenly father we want to thank you
01:19:32.200As we enter this fall season, Lord, it's a time of anticipation.
01:19:36.600My favorite time of the year, the days are cool, and we can still get lots of work done.
01:19:42.580But Father, all of nature outside is just so full of your creative work, and we have so much to be thankful for.
01:19:56.740Certainly, Lord, our countries are not what they used to be decades ago.
01:20:04.800But, Lord, each and every day we can find so many things to be thankful for.
01:20:10.120The gift of life, the breath in our lungs, the beating of our hearts, family and friends in love, the gift of Jesus Christ, the death of the Son of God, the redemptive work of Christ.
01:20:30.800the promise of a home in heaven the promise lord that someday is coming well we shall all be
01:20:38.160gathered together in the presence of god and with the saints of old we long for that day this is not
01:20:45.960our our home this is not our eternal domain lord but father we just so look forward to that day
01:20:53.440but in the meantime lord you are equipping us and have equipped us to do such an important work
01:20:58.620to be the light in this world and i thank you lord for those that we are able to to share our
01:21:05.380faith with and uh for those that we are able to um uh to point christ to and those that that
01:21:12.680are harvested into uh eternal salvation so lord i pray your special blessing upon pastor matt and
01:21:19.840his family his growing family his ministry his church father and i pray lord for the work
01:21:25.760continued work of action for Canada and all of our guests that were able to join with us today
01:21:31.260and those that were not able to, may they benefit from this presentation today. And Lord, we just
01:21:37.220pray that you will continue to bless as you enable us, Lord. And so we ask and pray that you will
01:21:46.400bless our lands, bless Canada, the United States, Father, we ask this now in Jesus' name. Amen.
01:21:52.400amen god bless you all thanks again for joining and we trust that we'll see you next time god bless you
