00:01:06.000 So much is happening, but I saw a report yesterday put out by CNBC, also Zero Hedge, that the Federal Reserve is now the second largest holder of U.S.

00:01:20.000 They own $821.1 billion.

00:01:23.000 So not just the Communist Chinese are basically controlling this country, but now the private Federal Reserve. 0.81

00:01:31.000 Yeah, and obviously, if they had to do that, our interest rates would have popped up.

00:01:35.000 But you know, in some ways, if you're looking for some benefits from that, just think, when we have true reform, there's no reason for the Treasury to pay these bills to the Fed.

00:01:47.000 You know, in an effort to go through a transition, it'd be nice if we could honor, you know, the Treasury bills held by private individuals who, you know, naively bought our government debt.

00:01:58.000 But we do not have to pay that.

00:01:59.000 When we have our reform, we just throw that out.

00:02:02.000 Because they're holding it down.

00:02:04.000 And if we had a new system, it wouldn't be necessary.

00:02:07.000 There was a headline in Market Watch of the Wall Street Journal yesterday with one of their analysts saying that they believe it'll be the end of the Federal Reserve by 2012.

00:02:16.000 More and more, even mainstream media is sounding like Congressman Ron Paul.

00:02:21.000 Yeah, I'm amazed at the progress we've made with stations like yours and many others on the internet who have joined us.

00:02:29.000 I'm sure you can remember three years ago this was a a non-event, you know, talk about the Fed, we were still considered, you know, way outside kooks that even bring the subject up.

00:02:38.000 But it is frequently discussed on the business channels, at least, not the political channels as much as the business channels.

00:02:45.000 They're starting to realize that, you know, the Fed is responsible.

00:02:49.000 So I keep harping at it that if you want full employment, that's why I always keep the door open for the left because they always preach, we care about the poor and we care about jobs.

00:03:00.000 What they do, they have to look at monetary policy.

00:03:03.000 And just look how this system destroys the middle class. 1.00

00:03:07.000 The first people to lose their jobs are the people who were supposed to be helped by the Barney Franks of the world.

00:03:13.000 And here, they end up losing their houses, losing their jobs, and who gets bailed out?

00:03:18.000 You know, the big mortgage companies, the big gamblers, the ones who made billions of dollars when the bubble was being inflated, and now they're still making money.

00:03:31.000 No matter what they do, they cannot escape the blame.

00:03:35.000 Well, we've got this outside branch of government that's private that you've tried to audit, and now they've positioned us to where they're the second biggest owner of our debt, along with Communist China.

00:03:48.000 I mean, we're clearly being conquered economically through this fraud, but because it is a fraud, if we just stand up and say no to it, as you said, we have no responsibility to pay this money.

00:04:00.000 I mean, the default is on its way, and Bernanke actually is very sympathetic to inflation, and he also understands that printing money causes price inflation, and when you have the price inflation devaluing the currency, this literally reduces his real debt.

00:04:16.000 So if he can double prices and double it with doubling the money supply, you know, the debt goes down by 50%.

00:04:23.000 He's just disappointed that the prices aren't going up fast enough, so the devaluation is bad.

00:04:29.000 It's horrible, but he even wants more of it.

00:06:58.000 And the congressman has been talking about the collapse that we're going into, and we have all the economic numbers there.

00:07:05.000 We never left the recession, and by most yardsticks, we're in a depression.

00:07:09.000 So can you give us a forecast from your deep research and the word you're getting up there on the banking committee about where we are, Congressman Ron Paul?

00:07:19.000 And the Fed signals to accelerate the monetization of debt, clearly driving the dollar down and gold up.

00:07:26.000 Right, and although we can be optimistic about what's changing in the country, a lot of attitudes are improving, there's a better understanding of free market economics and Austrian economics and the importance of gold and how significant the Fed is.

00:07:40.000 In Washington, no attitudes have changed.

00:07:43.000 Bernanke and others, Geithner, these guys, they have their wall, their back up against the wall, so instead of saying, hey, maybe I was wrong, which they're incapable of Psychologically to do, because that means they've invested 30 or 40 years in promoting this nonsense.

00:08:00.000 They can't admit that.

00:08:02.000 So the worse things get, the more they continue to do bad policy.

00:08:06.000 That is spend, borrow, inflate, and regulate.

00:08:09.000 They think regulations can compensate for the market regulating, and therefore they can do this economic planning through monetary policy.

00:08:20.000 So nothing has changed there.

00:08:22.000 So what that does, it guarantees the prolongation of the problems that we have.

00:08:27.000 You have to have the liquidation of debt, and they will not permit the liquidation of debt.

00:08:32.000 They just transfer the debt from their privileged friends over onto the taxpayers.

00:08:37.000 So if you look at all the mortgage debt and the derivatives, that's what we bought.

00:08:42.000 It's horrible that they have $800 and some billion of treasury bills, but they have over a trillion dollars of all this other bad debt, which is probably worthless.

00:08:52.000 It should have been sold on the market for what the market would pay for it.

00:08:56.000 But they bought it for these banks at the nominal rate.

00:08:59.000 It's criminal.

00:09:00.000 And it's just going to lead us to runaway inflation, all debt filled by government when it gets out of hand, the debt gets liquidated.

00:09:09.000 It doesn't get liquidated by them refusing to pay the debt.

00:09:13.000 It's liquidated by passing out money that's cheap.

00:09:16.000 And that's what devaluation is all about.

00:09:18.000 They're devaluing the currency on purpose, sticking it to the person who might want to save, or who has to live, you know, close on the margin.

00:09:27.000 They get the higher prices, they lose their jobs, they lose their savings.

00:09:31.000 And Austrian economics, and Mises pointed this out, that when you destroy a currency, you destroy the middle class.

00:09:40.000 And that's what we're witnessing right now.

00:09:42.000 That's right, all the economic indicators are that the middle class is evaporating before our eyes.

00:09:48.000 Here's the Wall Street Journal yesterday.

00:09:51.000 Fed officials mull inflation as a fix.

00:09:56.000 So, they've always denied that they were using inflation to basically cover up the massive debts.

00:10:03.000 Now, they've gotten so desperate, they're shifting gears.

00:10:06.000 And Bernanke saying, OK, we are in deep trouble.

00:10:08.000 We are in a crisis.

00:10:10.000 But I've got the solution.

00:10:11.000 We're going to further devalue the dollar.

00:10:15.000 But the answer is, according to his statements in the G20 statement, is this coordinated lowering of currencies.

00:10:23.000 But they claim that that would stop any type of currency war.

00:10:27.000 But as you know, Congressman, the currency war is now on.

00:10:30.000 And so just as we saw Weimar Republic, Germany, or Zimbabwe in the last few years in, of course, Africa or a decade ago in Argentina.

00:10:39.000 Once you get to a tipping point, a flashpoint, the devaluation accelerates.

00:10:45.000 Are we nearing a flash implosion point or will it just be a continual devaluation?

00:10:51.000 Well, there eventually will be a crash of the dollar.

00:10:55.000 But the whole policy makes no sense.

00:10:57.000 Just like we got into trouble by spending and borrowing and inflating, so we do more of it.

00:11:02.000 But the whole idea that it's good for the people to depreciate their money, devalue their money.

00:11:08.000 It means if you have $100 in the bank, tomorrow or the next week it may be worth $95 or $90.

00:11:13.000 It's a criminal theft.

00:11:15.000 The left is what it is.

00:11:17.000 But that's what they call good policy.

00:11:20.000 And all the countries of the world are doing this.

00:11:23.000 And it does go down gradually.

00:11:25.000 And it doesn't go down, you know, you can't calculate it.

00:11:30.000 If the Fed increases the money by 10% every year, that doesn't mean prices go up 10%, you know, every year.

00:11:38.000 What happens is, you know, there's productivity that keeps prices down, there's the psychological factor, there's trust in the dollar, there's trust in the politicians, so you might have a steady Erosion of the key currency, which is the dollar, which has happened since Bretton Woods.

00:11:56.000 It's down about 35 percent against all other currencies.

00:11:59.000 So it's hard to measure the destruction of the dollar just against currencies because all the other currencies are not much better.

00:12:07.000 The only thing, the only true test over the centuries has been the devaluation against gold.

00:12:14.000 And gold measures value better than anything else.

00:12:16.000 And who wants the value of their gold to go down in the purchasing power?

00:12:21.000 It's always going up with the fiat money.

00:12:24.000 But here we are, have the world competing To find out how fast they can devalue their currencies.

00:12:30.000 It's absolutely insane.

00:12:31.000 And it's very destructive.

00:12:34.000 And the final stages, indeed, are rapid.

00:12:37.000 Even though they're erratic as they inflate, there's finally a point in monetary destruction where everybody throws in the towel.

00:12:46.000 Then they rush out of it, and everybody's working hard to prevent the panic.

00:12:51.000 And that will even interfere and get into markets to fudge the price of gold to prevent the panic.

00:12:56.000 But when the time comes, you know, if it looks like it's going to zero or lose a lot, you know, the Chinese will dump it. 0.99

00:13:04.000 Everybody else will dump it.

00:13:05.000 Interest rates are going to go up.

00:13:06.000 Inflation rates are going to go up.

00:13:08.000 The economy is going to get weaker.

00:13:10.000 And then we as a country will be forced to have monetary reform.

00:13:14.000 And the only way you can have true monetary reform is you have to change the role of government.

00:13:21.000 We cannot continue to be the policemen of the world and run a welfare state and think that changing the monetary system will help.

00:13:28.000 So you have to revamp the whole idea about what our government should be doing, what the role of government is.

00:13:33.000 The proper role of government under the law is very limited according to our Constitution.

00:13:38.000 And the monetary issue has been well-defined in the Constitution.

00:13:42.000 So the answers are there.

00:13:44.000 And one of these days soon, it could be in a year, it could be in three or four or five years, but it will come.

00:13:51.000 But the gradual erosion of the purchasing power of the dollar will continue.

00:13:55.000 Congressman, looking at the death of the Anglo-American empire geopolitically and economically, and as a doctor with the analogy, I mean, are we a year, two years, three years from the implosion of the empire? two years, three years from the implosion of the empire?

00:14:14.000 And then what comes out of that implosion of the empire?

00:14:18.000 I mean, where is the United States going from here?

00:14:20.000 Well, there's no way anybody knows the precise time, but you can be certain that if certain events are occurring, like the depreciation of money and the continuing inflating of the currency, it will come.

00:14:33.000 But I'm sure we're getting much closer, and it could be within, you know, a few years.

00:14:39.000 Now, when this happens, you can have Two things.

00:14:42.000 The status quo will not be maintained because all wealth is being shifted right now like we said.

00:14:48.000 It's being shifted away from the middle class and the wealthy and the Wall Streeters and the bankers have all the wealth and they'll probably have a lot of the gold as well.

00:14:58.000 We either shift toward going back to our roots and deciding the founders were on the right track and we reinstate those views, or we do something like what happened to Germany in the 20s.

00:15:09.000 It ushered in a militant evil dictatorship.

00:15:13.000 dictator, which was Hitler, who scapegoated a group of people that he blamed everything on the Jews, and the hatred was built, and today we have our scapegoats around, you know, let's hate this group, let's hate that group, blame them for the whole problem. 0.50

00:24:47.000 It will be a message, but, you know, we probably won't get the Senate, and the Republicans still have to prove themselves that they've learned a lesson, and if they do pass some good legislation and resist, Then they face vetoes.

00:25:02.000 There may be a significant improvement in just confidence in the system in that maybe we can slow Obama up, which would be pretty good.

00:25:12.000 Just think that if we'd have had a strong Republican House, just even a House, maybe Obamacare wouldn't have been passed.

00:25:19.000 Maybe we would have been able to prevent some And since you bring that up, just two final quick questions.

00:25:26.000 Did you see the USA Today article where McDonald's and 29 other firms have been given a federal government exemption?

00:25:33.000 They don't have to buy health care, but 29 million plus other small businesses do.

00:25:39.000 Is that not incredible discrimination and literal divide and conquer where if you, you know, are a big corporation, you don't have to follow the same rules as the people?

00:53:40.000 And then to carry on a national conversation instead of about the role of the Federal Reserve, what will be its level of commitment to stable prices in this domestic economy in particular, But instead talk about what China should be doing with the law, rather than talking about U.S.

01:06:15.000 Here's the headline, First Amendment ruling destined to kill Internet-free speech.

01:06:20.000 They said that in the case of the funeral protesters, who I disagree with, but it's their right, That they are going to restrict rallies, protest, things that hurt people's feelings.

01:06:33.000 England has just passed similar laws.

01:06:35.000 The Cybersecurity Act did this.

01:06:37.000 They couldn't pass the cyberbullying last year, and so they're now legislating from the bench.

01:06:42.000 They have signaled and said that they are going to rule against rallies and demonstrations that are hurtful.

01:06:49.000 And one justice said this will also affect internet speech.

01:06:53.000 That then dovetails with Microsoft proposes government licensing internet access.

01:06:59.000 I mean, can you speak about the state of free speech in this country?

01:07:04.000 Here's another one.

01:07:04.000 Obama administration pressures ISPs to censor websites without even an order.

01:07:11.000 The White House just tells them what they want taken down outside of a court and it happens.

01:07:15.000 I mean, this is becoming Maoist China.

01:07:19.000 Well, I disagree with the view of those who say the court is going to go against free speech.

01:07:25.000 I was not in the courtroom.

01:07:27.000 I read a portion of the transcript of the oral argument, and I interrogated the Fox reporter who was in the courtroom.

01:07:34.000 That Fox reporter, not a lawyer, but a person who covers the Supreme Court for Fox, is of the view that it's going to go in favor of free speech.

01:07:42.000 And this court And no court is perfect, and a lot of judges, most of them legislate for the bench, but this Supreme Court, with Stephen's on it before Kagan got there, invalidated laws that prohibited the slaughter of animals on tapes, a horrible thing that I oppose, but free speech.

01:08:02.000 Invalidated laws that prohibited corporations and labor unions and advocacy groups from getting involved in free speech.

01:08:10.000 I believe that this case is going to go as horrific as the message is in favor of the freedom of the messengers in this case.

01:08:17.000 Okay, well, let's hope you're right, and we'll find out soon.

01:08:21.000 But the other issue is what about all these moves with cybersecurity, the Obama kill switch, all these different...

01:08:28.000 Well, that stuff has to be challenged, and it has to be challenged in a couple of ways.

01:08:30.000 One, the way you're doing it by exposing it, because most people don't know about this unless they hear it from you or Sassol or Beck or me, because there are very few national broadcasters addressing this.

01:08:41.000 And secondly, it needs to be challenged in the political arena.

01:08:44.000 The people who do it need to be voted out of office or exposed and forced to explain themselves, in which case they'll be forced out of office.

01:08:51.000 And then, of course, it needs to be challenged.

01:08:54.000 But the court has been pretty good on First Amendment.

01:08:58.000 I mean, the court has let Circuit Court opinions stand, which invalidated efforts to cleanse the Internet of pornography.

01:09:05.000 Whatever you think of pornography, these things were written supposedly to protect children.

01:09:09.000 It's always for the children.

01:09:11.000 And Circuit Courts of Appeals, that's the intermediate appellate court throughout the country, have invalidated legislation under Clinton, under Bush, and under Obama, and the Supreme Court has refused to accept the The government's appeals to overturn those invalidations.

01:09:25.000 So they haven't been bad on the First Amendment.

01:09:28.000 Now, we run the risk.

01:09:31.000 Of a social conservative, like my college classmate Sam Alito, joining the big government liberals.

01:09:39.000 We run that risk of them thinking what they know is best for us to watch and listen to and hear.

01:09:46.000 But if Justice Alito sticks to the guns, so to speak, of those who voted for the First Amendment the last time around, I think the First Amendment will prevail.

01:09:57.000 Well, even if the court says we don't have a First Amendment, possession is nine-tenths of the law, we need to continue to exercise it, just like McCain-Feingold tried to block free speech.

01:10:08.000 People just ignored it.

01:10:09.000 Absolutely.

01:10:10.000 Absolutely.

01:10:12.000 I mean, the other thing is, I mean, the judgment against Phillips here ...was provided under some Maryland law.

01:10:22.000 Now, some states would not have such laws.

01:10:25.000 Some states would say, you can stand on the sidewalk and say whatever you want.

01:10:29.000 This creates the bizarre conundrum of the First Amendment meaning different things in different states.

01:10:36.000 So if the Supreme Court says, this is okay, we're going to uphold this judgment.

01:10:40.000 It's about $8 million, which the church doesn't have, so it may just be a paper judgment.

01:10:45.000 That may not be the law of the land in all 50 states.

01:10:49.000 My own home state of New Jersey, regrettably one of the most progressive in the Union, nevertheless, is superb on free speech.

01:10:58.000 Under the New Jersey Constitution, you can stand on a street corner and say whatever you want, to whomever you want, at any time you want, as long as you're not preventing people from walking or preventing traffic.

01:11:09.000 I understand.

01:11:11.000 Legal issues, obviously you could teach us all day and we appreciate you joining us on that subject.

01:11:16.000 But last question, when should the court then release their ruling?

01:11:19.000 In the next two, three months?

01:11:21.000 Um, you know, they release a bunch of rulings three times right before Christmas, in the middle of the spring, or I'd say around April, and then in June.

01:11:31.000 I think this one's probably going to come in April.

01:11:33.000 I don't think this is going to come until next year.

01:11:36.000 Not for any political reason, but just because the process of getting something like this done takes time.

01:11:42.000 Okay, I've got a stack of other important issues.

01:11:44.000 You talked about the Federal Reserve getting more power.

01:11:48.000 It did get more power out of the crisis it created.

01:11:50.000 They were able to block a true audit in the Senate.

01:11:54.000 Now it's being reported that 821.1 billion of US Treasury notes are now owned by the private Federal Reserve.

01:12:03.000 They are now the second biggest owner of our debt next to communist China. 0.93

01:12:10.000 The Federal Reserve is moving ahead with the quantitative easing.

01:12:13.000 The dollar is plunging.

01:12:14.000 Gold is going up.

01:12:16.000 It's becoming more and more clear that we have a financial, military-style occupation of our country.

01:12:24.000 And the bankers are getting record bonuses.

01:12:27.000 They're openly not telling Congress where the trillions are.

01:12:31.000 Give us your take on the Federal Reserve being the second biggest owner of our debt.

01:13:07.000 The Federal Reserve can print its own money and fund it itself.

01:13:10.000 So, the Federal Reserve is probably the most powerful entity on the planet.

01:13:15.000 More powerful than the rest of the federal government combined.

01:13:18.000 It's certainly the most secretive.

01:13:19.000 This is a one-liner that you've used.

01:13:22.000 The job of the CIA is to keep and to steal secrets.

01:13:25.000 We know more about the CIA and what it has kept and what it has stolen than we do about the Federal Reserve.

01:13:32.000 And the Federal Reserve announced yesterday that it's ready to infuse another trillion dollars of cash.

01:13:39.000 Into the marketplace.

01:13:40.000 What will that do to the value of the dollar in the wallet of everybody listening, in the bank account of everybody listening, invested in the business of everyone listening who's invested in a business, and invested in the home of everyone listening who owns a home?

01:13:56.000 When Jefferson and company were running the government in 1792, the Congress enacted the Coinage Act of 1792, which made it punishable by death for anybody in the government to clip coins stated differently to devalue the money.

01:14:15.000 The Federal Reserve is doing exactly that which was death penalty eligible when sound money existed in the country.

01:14:24.000 This is the most serious of problems we face.

01:14:27.000 We need to audit the Federal Reserve.

01:14:33.000 We may open up the door and find a stadium full of gold, but it could be hypothecated.
