In this podcast, we talk about the heartwarming story of a Muslim who goes to the mosque and tells his fellow Muslims that he's a bad Muslim but he's still a Muslim. We also talk about how this story reminds us of a companion of Qadhi Abdurrahman Radwan Anwar Radwan who had an addiction to alcohol.
00:00:00.000Come on, come on down it, come on Ty, I'll feed you, down it, down it, down it, I've never seen you fast before, I'm a bad one, I'm a bad one, but I am a Muslim.
00:00:16.400Well the Qur'anly app is about to show you your progress with your soul.
00:00:20.240Not only does it encourage you to read, it tells you how many verses you've read, how many pages you've read, how long you've been on it and best of all the Hassanah counter.
00:00:26.900Download the Qur'anly app now and have a Ramadan with Allah's book like you've never had before.
00:00:56.900It's a bit like emotional in the context where it reminds me of a companion of Qadnu Ayman radiallahu anh and he was someone who was known to have an addiction towards alcohol.
00:01:07.700That was his shortcomings but we're going to learn lessons from both of them.
00:01:10.380Let's get straight into the video inshaAllah and see this because I think it's going to really melt your heart inshaAllah.
00:01:15.000So here we go, here's a video inshaAllah of this brother in Arsenal TV.
00:03:37.380And this is someone, brothers and sisters, who you know who it reminds me of?
00:03:41.120It reminds me of a companion called Nuayman radiallahu anhu.
00:03:45.720And you know he was somebody who was known for his humor, known for the jokes that he would make.
00:03:51.880And he also had an addiction with alcohol.
00:03:53.620But brothers and sisters, once he went to the marketplace and bought some food, and he liked the taste of it so much, he ordered it for the message of Allah.
00:04:03.140He ordered the person who owned the shop to take some to the message of Allah.
00:04:07.400When the person took it to the message of Allah and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ate it, the man said, can you pay me?
00:04:35.020The thing was the sincerity in the context where he wanted it for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, even though he didn't have the money to pay for it.
00:04:39.820And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam laughed about it so much.
00:04:41.880But you know what's really profound about this companion is that he fought in the Battle of Badr and Khandaq and Uhud, if I'm not mistaken.
00:04:49.820He fought, but he had a weakness with alcohol.
00:04:54.560One day, I think he was flogged once or two times.
00:04:58.640Okay, we know the punishment for drinking alcohol.
00:05:02.920If I'm not mistaken, Umar al-Makattab did 80 lashes because he believed that the one who drinks alcohol is more prone to slander.
00:05:09.120And the lashes for slander is 80 or 100, if I'm not mistaken.
