00:00:11.760 okay assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh brothers and sisters and dear friends
00:00:18.320 i was reading my book and then came a gentleman this handsome gentleman what's your name tony
00:00:23.540 tony how you doing cheers me and you had a nice discussion yeah remember uh two weeks ago after
00:00:27.740 three weeks ago and then i went home and guess what what the michaelson recording and i was
00:00:32.500 devastated well speaker's corner's lost exactly so yes so anyways you're here today you said you
00:00:38.960 wanted to ask me a question yeah i'm interested in what the quran's view is on hell hell yeah
00:00:45.120 i'm hearing from different muslims cheers thank you yeah i'm hearing from some muslims that the
00:00:52.160 position is that it's possible to be condemned to hell forever yeah and from other muslims 1.00
00:00:57.720 that that's metaphorical and that nobody ends up in hell forever so i i'm asking what your
00:01:03.060 understanding is okay the orthodox position is that um there there is going to be people who
00:01:10.140 will end up in hell forever there are going to be muslims who are going to be in hell not forever 1.00
00:01:14.680 there are the munafikun uh the disbelievers who are going to be in the lowest part of the hellfire 1.00
00:01:19.080 uh and they're going to get the most severe punishment right um there are people who allah has
00:01:25.040 mentioned specifically that they are in hellfire forever like abu jahal abu lahab uh phiraun so
00:01:31.560 our position in islam about hellfire is the following if you die upon disbelief
00:01:40.560 we will say your origin yeah because your original position is that you died on disbelief
00:01:47.420 however can i say that you're going hellfire no so let me make this clear for you again 0.90
00:01:54.260 i get it when you die if we for example we will say you will not be buried with the muslims because 1.00
00:01:59.820 you died as a disbeliever uh-huh your original position by default is you died as a disbeliever 0.97
00:02:05.400 if i pass away my original position or passing away is as a muslim no one can come and say ali
00:02:12.980 dawah was doing dawah for so many years and he made so many people come to accept this stamp which
00:02:18.020 is not true by the way but i was amazing person whatever it may be no one can say i'm going heaven
00:02:22.860 no one can say you're going hell okay my my concern is that your view of allah is that he would
00:02:30.700 condemn some of his creation to eternal hell a lot of his creation thank you that was very clear yeah 0.54
00:02:36.620 a lot of his creation now now do you understand that for a lot of people who aren't muslims that's
00:02:40.960 a particular sticking point no it won't be because i've got a little well i am one of them i've got
00:02:45.500 i've got a little gift for you and this gift that allah god almighty has given to all human beings
00:02:50.620 is the following and no other religion has this not christianity not buddhism not hinduism not
00:02:56.040 sikhism not christianity not judaism yeah here's the following the prophet peace be upon him told
00:03:01.320 us and allah says in the quran we do not punish any nation until we send the messenger so let's
00:03:08.280 make this clear god almighty is saying we will never punish any nation until a messenger has gone
00:03:14.920 there and told them clear cut that the true way is the way of god i understand so so therefore
00:03:21.960 in islam islam is the only religion that says the following listen carefully if anybody there's four 0.99
00:03:28.840 people a child who hasn't reached age or puberty a person who is insane the mental uh a person who 0.59
00:03:38.200 hasn't heard the message of islam sure and some scholars even say a person who's heard the message
00:03:44.280 of islam but in a distorted way terrorism yeah i get it i get it so so what we are told these people
00:03:51.160 will be tested on the day of judgment because allah it will be we believe god almighty is the most
00:03:56.120 merciful very merciful okay with respect i think i understand where you're coming from okay i like
00:04:01.240 the fact that you don't want to preemptively judge people who've got mental problems or who haven't
00:04:05.480 heard the word people will end up in hell forever forever yes and i am politely expressing that that 0.78
00:04:10.600 creates concern for some of us and some muslims will be in hell as well when we're trying to look benignly on 1.00
00:04:15.000 that view can you understand did i answer that question you did but you know you were clear
00:04:19.960 enough to give me a clear answer allah does do that i'm hoping you can understand why no no no no no
00:04:24.680 allah does do that because you know what's interesting before i was coming here on the
00:04:27.560 phone i was in muhammad hijab i want to explain this to you when allah talks about hellfire allah says
00:04:33.960 that the hellfire is something that they earned when allah talks about paradise he says it is something that
00:04:40.840 they inherited a lot of us feel that you'll hear this voiced a lot a lot of us feel that infinite
00:04:49.640 punishment for a finite transgression is a disproportionate level of no it's not so if
00:04:56.760 you've gone he goes to hell for a while and then he comes out you might have gone finite punishment for
00:05:02.120 finite transgression particularly seeing as god created you to be fallible and fine okay but because
00:05:07.720 god seems to have gone i'm going to build you fallible you're going to get some things wrong
00:05:11.320 and if you get certain things wrong i'm going to punish you infinitely a lot of us can't gel that
00:05:15.720 with the idea okay okay let me explain that to you yeah so here is a misunderstanding of you allah is
00:05:22.200 yeah the question is the following we live a finite life why would we be destined to hellfire forever
00:05:29.800 that's the question that was sorry that was thank you that was okay so the question is we live a finite
00:05:34.920 life why would god put us in hell forever when we live the people and we're fallible people let me
00:05:39.480 explain to you yeah let's suppose arguments say for every day of disobedience to god you deserve one
00:05:48.680 day in hellfire okay would you say that is fair it's fairer fairer okay all right now if you live 50
00:05:57.000 years yeah and 50 years in hellfire that's fair fair okay if god knows that through the rest of your life
00:06:03.560 if you live the billion trillion years you're going to be doing the same sin again and pointing to
00:06:08.040 hellfire is that just you know what now let me be clear what i'm going to say now because i don't 1.00
00:06:13.800 want you to write this up as ali darwa convert stupid atheist okay fine you're not stupid you're 0.98
00:06:19.080 having a very intelligent but i enjoyed talking to you i've never heard that argument before 0.99
00:06:24.440 and that does go some way i don't believe i don't think it's the case i've never heard that argument
00:06:29.480 before and it would go some way to resolving yeah i don't okay you shifted me 10 okay tony so what
00:06:36.040 i would say is look my job here is having a nice civilized discussion yeah we learn from each other
00:06:39.880 i listen to you sometimes i learn from you yeah the concept of islam this imagination of god almighty
00:06:46.200 is this monster who wants everyone to go hellfire is not islam in islam allah wants paradise i hope so 1.00
00:06:53.240 he does you know why because he's the most merciful let me tell you something islam when you smile 0.86
00:06:58.200 is charity you get reward look you guys have got a lot of great things no no no but what i'm trying
00:07:02.440 to say there's a lot about islam i think it's true thank you but what i'm saying tony hear this out
00:07:06.600 yeah god almighty has created us and he wants paradise for us he does not want anyone to go hellfire
00:07:13.720 let that be very clear the god that we worship is not a god that's saying oh who can i throw in hellfire
00:07:20.280 this is not allah in the quran every single chapter except surah toba allah says the most merciful
00:07:26.360 the very merciful god almighty tells us his mercy is in hundred forms only one of them is in this
00:07:33.400 earth yeah and 99 is saving in the hereafter yeah so the question is this that god does god want
00:07:38.280 hellfire for us no he's created you he wants you to acknowledge him worship him and he wants paradise
00:07:45.720 is not something you earn paradise is something given to you so what okay oh that's a whole new listen
00:07:51.320 you've got to go that's a whole new i thought you earned it the whole premise of religion is that
00:07:55.640 you're responsible for your moral choices no no no okay you're caught in an existential but this is
00:07:59.080 what i'm saying that's another debate in the quran okay okay i'll just explain to you for the next
00:08:03.800 debate bear in mind yeah in the quran hellfire you earn it it's your deeds that done that paradise 0.98
00:08:10.360 is something rewarded so the default is paradise it's not yes it's rewarded to you okay it's not something
00:08:15.800 you earn because unless you unless you screw up you go to heaven no no no if you really screw up when
00:08:21.640 i mean really i'm talking about really well you're better if you're going to hell forever yeah but but 0.77
00:08:25.720 but god almighty has given you vast options to worship him i'll hold it just a minute vast options
00:08:32.440 to uh worship him and the doors of paradise are there and there is a big chance for you to enter in
00:08:37.720 paradise if you don't then that's your fault okay listen nice any last words any last words no that
00:08:42.920 was great thank you thank you it's a pleasure yeah i hope we can do this we always love yes 100
00:08:47.400 determinism we need to do yes hard determinism yeah yeah yeah okay thank you thank you thank you
