Ali Dawah - Dawah to Neo - Atheist

00:00:00.000 I'm from Denmark Denmark okay we're from London yeah yeah so I have to ask you this question

00:00:23.160 how does the Manchester United fair this premier league ground you know what I don't really watch

00:00:28.600 football but I think you know what we got this man are you a man United supporter brother spud me 0.96

00:00:34.120 right there oh damn oh he just stepped up his game can I ask you a quick question do you of course you

00:00:45.120 can well obviously we're here in Denmark we're just doing like a little documentary um we're not in 0.98

00:00:50.060 Denmark we're in Amsterdam sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry Scottish word from Amsterdam Amsterdam yeah

00:00:55.260 okay apparently yes yes yes sure before okay sorry all of us

00:01:04.200 thank you oh problem can I ask you guys a quick question yes we're doing like a little documentary

00:01:11.600 um do you guys believe in a creator you mean in God well God you can say I am I will not even say

00:01:20.640 atheist I am anti-theist you're anti-theist so you hate theists I don't really understand why

00:01:30.000 people have to believe in the deity okay can I can I break it down for you of course okay all right now

00:01:36.140 we you believe in the big bang yeah well yeah sure yeah well yeah well we know we know that it was a

00:01:41.720 big bang that started everything off now I just want you to hear out where we're coming from and

00:01:45.600 maybe have an understanding so well I'm I believe in a superior being but I won't call it God or Allah

00:01:52.140 or okay you know but I believe in something bigger than okay all right okay so for you what was your

00:01:57.340 name by the way Peter Peter I'm Ali nice meeting you so Peter yeah Ali yeah you too man it was a pleasure

00:02:03.060 meeting you now can I ask you now I just want to tell you where we come from now we're saying okay

00:02:07.660 there's a big bang before the big bang there was nothing the big bang started everything yeah so now

00:02:12.400 a lot of people say it came from nothing right now if I asked you a question and I said you know

00:02:17.700 what let's put the big bang to our side can you give me any other example of something coming into

00:02:21.700 existence from nothing I don't well I do I do believe in the big bang yeah so do so do we yeah

00:02:27.880 yeah that's okay don't be don't be sorry we are sorry that's a lot of questions before that yes that's a

00:02:38.460 serious long list of questions before that okay but I don't believe I don't believe in the deity

00:02:44.760 no no no okay I'm just saying I hear it from us so but is there anything that can come from nothing

00:02:50.100 from absolute nothing just pops into existence have you ever come across such a thing nothing comes

00:02:54.760 from nothing okay nothing comes from nothing okay that's a really good analogy now but the thing is

00:02:59.540 scientists are telling us that the big bang came from nothing it was just an accident it didn't come from

00:03:04.520 nothing no no no no okay there must have been something before that but but I don't know what

00:03:09.060 I can't I can't explain it okay what about you it didn't come from nothing okay it can't come from

00:03:14.420 nothing nothing comes from nothing okay then I have to ask the question what caused it because if

00:03:20.460 something starts the beginning has a cause what caused the big bang to explode and us coming by chance

00:03:26.140 well as billy connelly said you know scottish standard comedian as he said we might be a part of

00:03:33.380 leg of a chair okay like like microscopically microscope I mean yes I mean we're looking

00:03:43.020 inadvertently yeah and the other end of the uh of the microscope for god yeah yeah you're right

00:03:49.720 but the thing is the universe is vast we have no doubt about that we're microscopically inside

00:03:53.620 microscopic we might we might be part of a leg of a of a handicapped man no one ever

00:04:03.680 knows okay but the thing is that we have to accept that there must have been something that caused

00:04:08.420 it all to happen right can we say that we don't have to ask anything but but don't you think like

00:04:15.240 for example let me give you an analogy does your shoes have a purpose they keep my feet dry and make

00:04:20.880 and warm exactly okay so if I said okay your your shoes are a mere object yeah are you more complex as

00:04:27.640 a body or is your shoes more complex I guess that would be how you define complex and for example the

00:04:36.800 way that is designed the way your body works is the shoe more complex or would you say no it isn't

00:04:41.080 no it isn't it's a merely functional practical simple uh design to make your feet comfortable

00:04:47.540 and walking okay but we can agree that our bodies are a million times more complex than a shoe exactly

00:04:52.500 okay so can we say for example okay a shoe has a purpose has been created by somebody to suit a

00:04:59.720 demand exactly but how do we come and say like I'm just saying it for your maybe from your point of

00:05:04.120 view how can we say we have just come out through random events and we have absolutely no purpose

00:05:09.780 where the universe is a billion times more complex than your shoes we didn't come from a random

00:05:15.240 objects of things we have evolved 20 million teams you're right you're right even if we believed in

00:05:23.220 evolution it does not take god out the picture because because even if I said even though yeah

00:05:27.660 really no because if I said though sorry sorry I'm sorry peter if if I said evolution let's go back

00:05:33.940 to the first cell where did that come from we still can't take god out the picture if you get what I'm

00:05:38.100 even if I said I believe in evolution no problem I let's say I agree with it I believe the first 0.91

00:05:42.560 f***ing cell came from a mistake what kind of mistake though a f***ing you know mix up 0.99

00:05:49.900 a f***ing mix up but have you had shit happened okay shit happens and that happens to be life yeah 0.99

00:05:56.020 but peter did you did you see that happening because like the thing is you with science you 0.99

00:06:00.180 have to see and observe it of course I didn't see it okay then how do we believe something that

00:06:04.360 would like motorcycle mechanic I didn't see that okay okay all right what's your perception on

00:06:10.300 this obviously you believe in a you believe in a divine yeah you do not call it a name but you

00:06:13.720 see there is something higher out yeah well I believe in evolution I don't believe in Adam and

00:06:18.280 Eve or okay I don't believe that god or whoever created man yeah but again it's it's a complex thing

00:06:25.540 because there's a lot of things happening where I think there must be a higher purpose but but I

00:06:30.100 can't explain it I'm probably what you would call an agnostic if you know that I think I'm open for

00:06:37.660 the concept of religion but I haven't been convinced per se myself okay but again I have a feeling that

00:06:43.100 no no not at all so have you like me I reverted to Islam about two years ago yeah yeah and I was in

00:06:52.780 the same boat with you where I was like look yeah is there a god okay there is a god okay there's signs

00:06:56.920 that show me there is a divine but yes I believe in a god because like the fact that I gave that

00:07:02.560 nothing can come from nothing there must have been a cause what is this cause there must have been a

00:07:07.160 higher being that cause must have been god why no no because there is no other explanation to it

00:07:11.980 no no why okay okay okay okay for example do we do you have a purpose in life not really no okay that's

00:07:20.400 the thing we all have a purpose because I've been born yes I'm gonna die yes yes yes but yeah but you

00:07:26.040 need to understand that for example like I gave the example of the shoe if you if you can if you can

00:07:32.580 tell me a shoe has been created by an individual there is design behind it right there is a designer so

00:07:37.980 so how can I look at myself my eye my fingerprint which my fingerprint and everybody else is different

00:07:42.720 how can I say that's by chance I guess it would be up to the individual to define that if you if you

00:07:48.300 believe you have a purpose it's great for you of course of course but again I believe like Peter

00:07:52.120 that we are we're just here yes yes I don't know what my purpose is maybe I'll find out someday but

00:07:57.100 maybe I don't so but but have you have you tried giving a religious scriptures like a read just to

00:08:01.380 see look you know what maybe let's see if this is the truth or if it's not of course I've read the

00:08:05.120 Bible I've read the Torah and have you read the Quran not yet because well the thing is that if I don't

00:08:12.160 know you don't believe that a Quran can be translated so I don't know they can they can we have many

00:08:16.280 translations I read the English translation oh okay yeah are you see a Sunni sorry are you see a Sunni 0.88

00:08:21.200 Muslim oh no I'm Sunni I believe in just God alone and the Quran was sent by God there was many

00:08:28.380 prophets etc but me I don't blind I don't believe it blindly I went through the phase of saying look

00:08:33.000 if I'm going to believe this is a scripture from God it has to withstand certain things it should

00:08:37.280 have no errors no contradictions and should have some kind of miracles and signs that I can say

00:08:41.220 this is this is this is that's the thing that's the thing with the Quran I can say there is no 1.00

00:08:48.340 contradictions because the Quran itself challenges human beings it says look if you think this is 0.99

00:08:52.620 not from God bring a chapter like it bring a small chapter like it and challenge it so the Quran is

00:08:57.540 basically challenging human beings and saying if you if you yeah yeah it's the Quran made from 0.99

00:09:04.140 God yes it was sent by God that was Scott Wood that is your God's word yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you

00:09:12.420 don't think that is just a wee bit insane hit up we gotta pause you don't think that somebody had to

00:09:20.040 take that picture we can't say that picture came from nothing that's Maya you don't think that's a

00:09:25.500 wee bit insane a wee bit of psycho what was psycho believing in a deity not really because the thing is

00:09:33.840 like we have the instinct in us that for example if you're on a plane and the plane is dropping

00:09:36.900 you instantaneously turn into a higher being and ask for help why do we have that in us

00:09:41.020 depends on who you're asking yeah no no I would never turn to a higher power because I know

00:09:48.600 that in my eyes okay but you know you know there's that you know there's that saying that they says

00:09:54.020 when the ship is sinking are you doing this as a contra to the uh no no no no it's just I just want you to 0.97

00:09:58.940 I just wanted I just want to say yeah that even though yeah that that shit happened in France yes

00:10:05.840 yes yes I still love every single human being on earth we really appreciate that we really appreciate 0.94

00:10:11.960 that now it's good that the way you're thinking because you don't judge us and say you know what

00:10:15.440 every single Muslim is like that why would I ever judge you that's that's good I wish there's more

00:10:18.360 people like you exactly that's that's really that's really nice it wasn't you it wasn't you 100% you

00:10:23.000 know Ted Kaczynski yeah that's the same thing he was right exactly exactly Anna Spreidig did the 0.51

00:10:28.240 shit in Norway yes yes shit happens exactly that's that's that's really nice of you I wish everybody 1.00

00:10:34.880 thought like you because a lot of people come and say oh you guys are all the same you want to kill 1.00

00:10:37.780 everybody okay yeah so obviously I don't believe in the deity yeah okay that's not I told I will never 0.98

00:10:46.500 judge Muslims on their beliefs yeah yeah I told it yeah well actually I think yeah Muslims are 1.00

00:10:52.680 assholes because Christians are assholes okay okay now I respect that view but obviously I don't want 1.00

00:10:57.840 to hold you guys more it's cold what I would say is it was really nice meeting you it was a really 1.00

00:11:01.320 pleasure PR thank you very much thank you I really appreciate and what's your name Christian okay

00:11:06.480 Christian and also I would really encourage you because the thing is I was where you was before and I

00:11:10.620 did look at various scriptures Christianity this that because you need to understand that sometimes you look in

00:11:14.700 the mirror and say why am I here like if I got you yeah put you you you just passed you just passed

00:11:20.880 out yeah okay I put you on a plane on this plane you have whatever you like but one moment of time

00:11:27.440 you're going to say you know what okay I've got everything I like I'm living it good but who put me

00:11:31.660 on this plane and where am I going right exactly so yeah but again um as I said I'm open to the concept

00:11:37.140 of religion but I'm not actively looking for it so maybe someday it will drop in in my head but

00:11:43.680 if it don't it don't it doesn't happen of course of course I have to turn it around I have to ask you

00:11:48.060 why do you believe in the deity okay like I said like the same reason why he believes in the deity

00:11:52.380 because he doesn't I do he does he's agnostic no no no I'm closer to agnostic than to an organized

00:12:00.240 religion yeah still being you still believe in a being I believe in something higher than same same I

00:12:05.060 had the same belief which I I used to think religion is man-made it's there to control the masses until I

00:12:09.540 looked into it myself well I believe that the concept of religion as we know it is probably made

00:12:14.220 man-made but it has as you said it has some sort of origin yes so but again if it's God or if it's

00:12:20.280 Allah or if it's whoever some lizard in the jungle yeah I don't and also I'm a disc I really don't 0.67

00:12:26.860 understand Peter didn't have you put it under to this point I know so like and also I believe that

00:12:31.960 everybody can believe in what they want of course and I don't believe anybody is wrong

00:12:39.540 yeah

00:12:40.440 you
