02:46:49.000It has autonomy, so it is still technically governed by the native people, it is owned by Greenland, but the security aspect will be controlled exclusively by the United States.

02:47:08.000So there are some key features there, which are that the island is not going to actually be transferred to the United States, which, in my opinion, is a problem.
02:47:23.000And to me, this presents a big problem because, one, you've got the issue of the people of Greenland, the indigenous people, these like Eskimos that live there.
02:47:34.000Then you've got the other complication that, technically speaking, Denmark and the Danish king is sovereign over the territory.
02:47:41.000And what this implies is that in the future, you've got two polities, two jurisdictions that you're going to have to contend with.
02:47:50.000So let's say the United States wants to develop Greenland from either an economic point of view or a security perspective.
02:48:00.000Let's say, for example, we want to go into Greenland and we want to develop their uranium deposits.
02:48:05.000Or we want to go in and develop their other critical minerals.
02:48:09.000You have to bypass the local population, which is the Eskimos, and they're going to protest and they may object, and they've got a local government there.
02:48:19.000And then you also have to then go through the sovereign, which is the government of Denmark.
02:48:25.000And what is a future US administration going to do?
02:48:29.000What would a future Danish government, maybe with a more emboldened NATO, Empowered and backed by a more emboldened NATO coalition?
02:48:40.000What is that going to look like in 10, 20, or 30 years?
02:48:44.000So, if you recall, when this whole conversation started at the beginning of last year, and even in the first term, Trump insisted that we have to own Greenland.
02:48:55.000He said, It's actually not enough that our security control over Greenland is formalized or expanded.
02:49:08.000And these reasons have to do with the long term geopolitical significance of Greenland.
02:49:15.000Why is it, anyway, that Greenland is so important?
02:49:19.000There's a few reasons, and you can go from least important to most important.
02:49:24.000In the first place, Greenland does have a lot of critical minerals, and specifically uranium.
02:49:30.000And this is very important because a lot of the uranium we get from Russia and we get from Central Asia, we get from Niger, at least France does.
02:49:40.000And these are all territories that might not be reliable partners in the future.
02:49:44.000So Greenland has not only uranium, but also rare earth minerals and other critical minerals that we can extract.
02:49:51.000More importantly, however, is where it is situated on the globe.
02:49:55.000And this is part of our hemispheric defense doctrine.
02:49:59.000Where it is situated on the globe puts it in between, actually, the United States and Russia and China.
02:50:07.000If you look at not a map horizontally projected on a flat surface, but if you look at a globe.
02:50:14.000If you look at where Russia's nuclear missiles, for example, are located, it's a direct line between those missiles and the United States that intersects over the North Pole and over Greenland.
02:50:27.000So let's say, for example, we want to deploy some kind of anti missile system that will respond to Russian and Chinese threats.
02:50:35.000We're going to want to put it actually in Greenland.
02:50:40.000We're actually going to want to put it exactly there to detect and to.
02:50:46.000Survey and do reconnaissance on all emerging missile threats that come at us from Asia.
02:50:52.000And then maybe the most important reason has to do with trade routes.
02:50:56.000And this gets to why it's important that we own Greenland in the future.
02:51:01.000As the climate changes, the northern ice sheet is melting.
02:51:06.000And what this means is that now the North Pole is going to become a major source of trade.
02:51:13.000There's going to be a lot of sea based trade routes that go around and across the Arctic Sea in the North Pole.
02:51:20.000And what that also means then is this is going to be an area for geopolitical competition.
02:51:26.000If there are going to be vital trade routes going into and around the Arctic Circle, into and around the North Pole, then that means that what comes with all the commercial vessels that will be moving through this water that is no longer frozen is also there's going to be naval vessels as well.
02:51:44.000And so that raises the prospect that that might be a way that Russia or China could gain a foothold in the Western Hemisphere.
02:51:53.000The source of America's security is that it is separated from Eurasia by the oceans.
02:52:00.000You're not going to mount an invasion of the United States from the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean because it's too far.
02:52:07.000You can't mount an invasion of the United States through the Bering Strait because the United States controls Alaska.
02:52:14.000You can't mount an invasion against the United States through Latin America, like Mexico or the Caribbean or South America, because of the Monroe Doctrine.
02:52:26.000We are determined to rebuff any foreign influence in the terrestrial Western Hemisphere.
02:52:32.000But that leaves open now the northern border of the Western Hemisphere, which previously was not an area of strategic competition because it was frozen.
02:52:42.000But in the event that the northern ice sheet actually melts, now all of a sudden it's as if a new front opens up, which previously was not there.
02:52:52.000Previously, you had the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Bering Strait.
02:52:58.000But now, with the Arctic Ocean opening up, with the northern ice sheet opening, Now, if China and Russia gain a foothold in Greenland, like let's say through investments in civilian infrastructure, transportation, communication infrastructure, building radar, some kind of space station, some kind of scientific outpost, all that infrastructure could be used in a dual way.
02:53:24.000It could have a dual use, meaning to spy on Americans, could be a potential forward operating base for some kind of invasion or ground force.
02:53:35.000Some kind of permanent military presence or some other settlement from one of our adversaries.
02:53:41.000And therefore, if this is the case, if the Arctic Ocean becomes an area of competition, then we have to lock down Greenland in exactly the same way that we have locked down Alaska, and exactly the same way that we have locked down the rest of the Western Hemisphere through the Monroe Doctrine, and the way that we've locked down Canada and NATO, Western Europe and Northern Europe.
02:54:05.000Which is to say that we have to own it to ensure that at no time in the future can Greenland be used against our strategic interests.
02:54:15.000And so that gets to the point why is it that we have to actually own Greenland as opposed to formalizing our military occupation of the island?
02:54:24.000Because if we consider that the strategic threat to America comes from the melting of the ice, then this is maybe a 50 to 100 year timeline.
02:54:36.000We're talking about the North Pole and the Arctic Ocean opening up in the next 50 to 100 years and being an area of competition in the distant future.
02:54:48.000And the problem with any kind of informal or formal arrangement between the United States and Greenland, or better said, between the United States and Denmark through the local government of Greenland, is that there are too many variables here.
02:55:06.000In a long timeline, 50 to 100 years, there's going to be turnover in Denmark.
02:55:13.000And there's also going to be turnover around Denmark, which influences Denmark's political situation.
02:55:19.000There's going to be turnover in Germany, the UK, and France, which anchors the NATO alliance of which Denmark is a part.
02:55:40.000There's going to be turnover in the Danish government.
02:55:43.000There's going to be turnover in the NATO leadership and in the European NATO governments.
02:55:49.000There's going to be turnover in the United States.
02:55:52.000In the next 50 to 100 years, there will be new presidents and new congresses.
02:55:57.000And what this means is that this agreement is only as good as whether all the jurisdictions involved observe the agreement.
02:56:07.000But if all these different governments will undergo turnover and lots of turnover, and these governments and societies will change a lot over time, there's no guarantee the agreement is still going to be around.
02:56:21.000And so that's why it's sort of a moot point.
02:56:23.000Like I said earlier, I like the agreement.
02:56:34.000Greenland, I would argue, more so even than Taiwan.
02:56:38.000This is hemispheric defense, hemispheric dominance.
02:56:43.000As the world becomes multipolar, China and Russia are rising.
02:56:48.000There are other middle powers rising up, like Turkey and India and Pakistan and many others, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates.
02:56:57.000As the world becomes more competitive, we have to solidify our hemisphere, which is the source of our power, from which we project power globally.
02:57:08.000And so, in other words, you know, the best offense is a good defense.
02:57:12.000We need to make sure that before we're concerned with rebuffing China in Taiwan, we need to make sure they don't have a foothold in Peru and they don't have a foothold in Central America and Cuba and Venezuela in the Caribbean.
02:57:26.000Before we're worried about keeping Russia out of Ukraine, we should make sure they're never going to have access to Greenland with China.
02:57:35.000So, I do support the idea that Greenland is one of our vital strategic interests.
02:57:41.000But, in order for us to ensure that Greenland is a part of the mix, it makes a lot more sense to me that we acquire the territory on a permanent and legal basis, that we actually have sovereignty over the territory.
02:57:55.000And here's the problem I think that probably that was possible.
02:58:01.000I think that between the United States and Denmark, it's no question that the United States can have its way.
02:58:08.000Who's going to stand in the way of Washington?
02:58:11.000The 50,000 Eskimos that live in Greenland or the Danish king who is their sovereign?
02:58:23.000Denmark does not have a significant population.
02:58:26.000Greenland does not have a significant population.
02:58:30.000And what's more, neither of them have a significant economy.
02:58:33.000What's more, NATO needs us in Ukraine.
02:58:38.000Simultaneously, while NATO is deploying French troops to Greenland in order to deter a U.S. invasion on Denmark's behalf, simultaneously, France is demanding that we contribute more money and weapon systems and security guarantees to Ukraine to hold the line in Europe against Russia.
02:59:01.000And so you have to think that between the asymmetrical advantage that the United States has over Denmark and Greenland, And coupled with the fact that NATO is in a position of dependency on us, actually now, maybe more than ever, maybe more than at any other time since the early days of the Cold War, you would expect that it's perfectly reasonable for the United States to insist that this island on our side of the planet, in our hemisphere,
02:59:30.000an island which we outnumber like a million to one, an island owned by a country that needs our help, we should surely have a legitimate claim to acquiring the island.
02:59:42.000But what went wrong in the past year and a half is that Trump made it a matter of ego and pride.
02:59:50.000I think it was the way that Trump went about it that Trump insisted in such a bombastic way and with the threat of military force that Denmark surrender Greenland that then suddenly it became a wedge issue when it really didn't need to be.
03:00:10.000In other words, I think there could have been a deal, I think there could have been cooperation.
03:00:15.000Maybe something like, we're going to defend Ukraine anyway, and we're going to induct Finland and Sweden and some other countries into NATO anyway, and we're going to be selling you hundreds of billions of dollars worth of weapons to give to Ukraine anyway.
03:00:31.000We might as well, under the table, acquire Greenland while we're at it.
03:00:38.000And I think that if that's a conversation that happened privately or in a way that wasn't challenging the autonomy and sovereignty of Europe, Maybe that's something that could have been done.
03:00:51.000But it was the way that Trump basically challenged NATO to resist him that created a self fulfilling prophecy.
03:00:58.000By saying that we were going to take from them against their will, by saying that they were going to have to surrender it, he made it a wedge issue where NATO had to stake their claim and assert their autonomy against the United States.
03:01:13.000And I'm speaking specifically about the European NATO countries, obviously, not the United States.
03:01:19.000And so suddenly, this became a matter of pride, and this became a matter of Europe's strategic autonomy.
03:01:26.000And it became an issue where the Europeans were going to stick it to Trump, and they were going to draw a red line and say that if Trump acquires Greenland for the United States, then they win and we lose.
03:01:40.000So I believe it could have been done, but it's just like everything else.
03:01:45.000If we had gone into this thinking there would be a four year plan to acquire Greenland, Probably you could have factored that in to a forthcoming trade agreement between the United States and the European Union member nations.
03:02:01.000You could have factored that into how we approach Ukraine and how Ukraine is more of a vital strategic interest for Europe in the same way that Greenland is more of a vital strategic interest for the United States.
03:02:14.000And you could have factored that into some of the other expectations about the European NATO member states' military spending as a percentage of GDP.
03:02:24.000And probably if you had a concerted effort strategically with a comprehensive approach, considering all these different issues, considering all these different domains, all these different nexus points, which act as leverage between the US and Europe, then maybe over the course of the second term, we could have acquired Greenland.
03:02:45.000And it would have been, I think, a great feather in Trump's cap for his legacy and would have been a vital strategic interest for the United States being served.
03:02:56.000Imagine Greenland being put on the map and then consider where that puts us in the overall equation.
03:03:03.000By the end of Trump's four years, you've got Venezuela as a U.S. colony in the Caribbean, you've got Panama and the Panama Canal as a U.S. protectorate, you've got Alaska and Greenland triangulating around Canada.
03:03:20.000And maybe that paves the way towards something like a North American Union.
03:03:25.000Maybe that paves the way towards some kind of deeper integration in security and economy between the European NATO member states or the European Union and the United States.
03:03:36.000And this is with an eye towards a bigger geopolitical program.
03:03:43.000But now instead, we have to settle for this.
03:03:45.000And when you look at the actual deal, I'm not really even sure what the advantage is.
03:03:50.000What the deal says, like I said, The critical components of it are Greenland remains under the control of Denmark.
03:03:58.000We are going to expand our security presence in Greenland.
03:04:01.000And I suppose this makes it permanent.
03:04:04.000And the deal is going to exclude America's adversaries from economically developing Greenland.
03:04:12.000So China and Russia cannot be investing and buying companies and doing large projects in Greenland.
03:04:18.000And I agree in substance with these material things.
03:04:22.000But like I said, what this reads like is it just simply formalizes.
03:04:29.000We had already gotten China bounced from a couple of projects where they were building an airport, I believe, and they were investing in some other infrastructure.
03:04:38.000So, China being pushed out of Greenland has already happened.
03:04:42.000And the U.S. security presence in Greenland, as this article says, and as we've talked about, has been the status quo for nearly a century.
03:05:09.000And almost certainly, in 25 years, this agreement will be challenged.
03:05:15.000This will be another clip, maybe in a quarter of a century, because this is how these things go.
03:05:20.000You consider some of the agreements concerning borders and territorial claims that were made during the period of decolonization, let's say 60 years ago.
03:05:30.000You've got all sorts of agreements from 60 years ago about the Trucial States gaining independence, about the Southeast Asian states gaining independence, African and Middle Eastern countries gaining independence.
03:05:44.000And to this day, many of those agreements are considered null and void.
03:05:49.000Many of those agreements are being challenged based on the new geopolitical realities in those different regions.
03:05:55.000And just like those agreements from 60 years before today, this agreement 60 years from now will be undergoing the same process.
03:06:04.000Who is to say that China does not make a play for Greenland in the year 2050, in the year 2075?
03:06:13.000Who's to say that when the European countries are fundamentally different and America's fundamentally different, that China doesn't try to bribe the NATO countries?
03:06:32.000And they come in and they gain leverage over Europe.
03:06:34.000And since Denmark is reliant on the European Union and NATO, and if NATO and the EU go the way of Beijing, then who knows?
03:06:43.000Maybe Denmark loosens the agreement with Washington.
03:06:47.000All of this is possible unless we acquire the territory on a permanent basis.
03:06:53.000And like I said, not only do I think that's likely, I don't think anybody could have stopped us if there was a concerted effort to acquire it other than directly and publicly challenging NATO and Denmark to defend themselves from a territorial attack from the United States.
03:07:13.000In other words, if we had tried anything other than and maybe up to telling them, give us your territory or we will invade it.
03:08:39.000There is a U.S. foreign policy that is emerging where, for example, we turn our attention, yes, to Canada and Mexico rather than Iraq and Syria and Iran.
03:09:00.000Why are we concerned with Iran and Iraq and Syria and the Saudis and the Emiratis when there is actually a gold rush going on in our hemisphere that's just not yet exploited?
03:09:15.000You got the oil sands in America, although they're running out.
03:09:22.000Why are we concerned with the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el Mandeb when China has control over the Panama Canal, when China has very worrisome dual use ports all over the Caribbean?
03:09:35.000In Jamaica, in Haiti, all over Central and South America, they're building deep water ports in Peru.
03:09:42.000Again, it's a reorientation away from Eurasia, where it's extremely costly and less and less efficacious to carry out actions over there when we should be focused on vital strategic interests over here.
03:09:57.000And in a nutshell, it is turning the Western Hemisphere into a fortress in the North, in the West, in the South, in the East.
03:10:07.000Further integrating NATO and the European Union, bringing Canada and Greenland in, bringing Mexico in closer, pushing China and Russia out, eradicating all of the revisionist or rogue states in the Western Hemisphere.
03:10:27.000And then, from an economic point of view, building up the tariffs, bringing all the supply chains, all the manufacturing here, French shoring it.
03:10:36.000Building up the refining capability on this continent, taking advantage of the rare earths and critical minerals in Canada and Greenland.
03:10:45.000And maybe the biggest thing is not making mistakes by spending all our resources abroad, where they're going to have a lot less of an ROI as time goes on with the emergence of drone technology, the coalescing of China and Russia as strategic partners.
03:11:05.000So I do think that by the end of Trump's second term, We might not be all the way there, but at least the idea is there.
03:11:13.000I do like the idea that in the future, other presidents will look toward Canada as a potential acquisition.
03:11:21.000Other future presidents will look at Mexico and Cuba and Venezuela and Greenland as potential future prospects for America to acquire.
03:11:31.000That's a lot more sensible and I think a lot more reasonable and I think a lot more rational than trying to make Iraq and Syria and Iran into a colony, changing their government.

03:11:49.000But anyway, so that's the Greenland deal.
03:11:52.000We're going to talk a little bit about the press pool situation.
03:11:55.000Once again, it's sort of another L, and then we'll move on and take a look at super chats.
03:12:01.000Our other big story from today is that Trump is in a new war with the media.
03:12:06.000Last week, he banned three outlets from the White House, and those outlets are MS Now, Politico, and CNN.
03:12:15.000In retaliation, now the White House press pool, which is made up of five networks, it's the three big networks ABC, CBS, and CNN, plus the cable news channels Fox News and CNN.
03:12:28.000The five networks that comprise the press pool are now boycotting coverage of the administration.
03:12:35.000So typically, these outlets will follow the president around everywhere he goes.
03:12:41.000They travel with him on Air Force One, they attend all the events.
03:12:45.000They travel abroad with him and they will film and record everything that he does and says in every and any location.
03:12:53.000Now they're boycotting, so there will be no video of the president.
03:12:59.000And this is a story from the Wall Street Journal.
03:13:02.000It says, Major television networks agreed on Monday to suspend a rotation of broadcast journalists who cover President Trump after the White House removed CNN from a planned assignment covering the president's trip to New York.
03:13:16.000Effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the president, says Brian Boughton, the Washington bureau chief at Fox News, who currently serves as the TV pool chair.
03:13:29.000He said this follows the White House's position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties.
03:13:35.000Monday's decision suspends the television press pool, which distributes video footage and reporting about the president to TV networks and other broadcast outlets.
03:13:46.000The White House television pool members said in a statement The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government.
03:13:55.000No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting.
03:14:00.000The decision marks an escalation of tensions between the press and the administration after the president announced last week that he would ban CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House.
03:14:11.000The three outlets on Monday filed a lawsuit challenging the ban.
03:14:15.000In a joint statement, they said they had done so to protect our First Amendment rights and defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.
03:14:25.000In a show of support for the banned outlets, the New York Times and Washington Post said on Monday they wouldn't publish photographs.
03:14:32.000Of the day's presidential events until midnight Eastern time.
03:14:38.000And, you know, my first reaction when I read this is that this country is a joke.
03:14:45.000They in other countries have to be laughing at us in North Korea, in Iran, in China, in Russia.
03:14:55.000So Trump is correct that all the media does is negative coverage.
03:15:01.000All the coverage, all the reporting is negative and dishonest.
03:15:06.000And they are accomplices of the Democratic Party.
03:15:09.000So people would like to say, if we're going to play dumb, if we want to engage in context denial, people would like to say the press is the fifth estate or the fourth estate.
03:15:22.000And this is a violation of the right to the press.
03:15:26.000And the press in a democracy is what holds the government accountable.
03:15:30.000Again, if we want to play dumb and if we want to engage in context denial, we can make these arguments.
03:15:37.000And we could appeal to the democratic principles of the founding and all this.
03:15:42.000But in reality, we all know that all the outlets, with the exception of arguably one, which is Fox, it's Fox News, it's News Corp, it's the Murdoch Empire, all the outlets, they're not just biased, they're colluding with the Democrats.
03:16:03.000They're openly and actively all the time colluding.
03:16:06.000The coverage of Republicans is all negative, the coverage of Democrats is all positive.
03:16:12.000The coverage of the right wing in general is all negative and dishonest and characterizes them as violent and hateful and extreme.
03:16:20.000And the coverage of the left is the complete opposite.
03:16:26.000So Trump is totally right to do this because the press is out of control.
03:16:32.000Now the press says, well, we're not going to film the president of the United States events and we're not going to publish his pictures until midnight.
03:17:02.000So Trump says that later tonight, Trump TV will go live and it will carry a 24 7 stream of all of Trump's events and everything he says and does.
03:17:14.000And so I guess the administration is not going to back down, at least not immediately.
03:17:17.000And they're going to say, well, If the TV pool doesn't cover the president, then we'll cover it ourselves.
03:17:23.000And we'll have something like a state broadcasting agency.
03:17:28.000And we'll just film and distribute the content ourselves.
03:17:31.000And honestly, I don't think that's a bad idea.
03:17:34.000You almost wonder why they didn't have that in the first place.
03:17:50.000In other words, if the White House doesn't film the little press pool, the little press junket, if they don't film, let's say, some other PR move or some other event at the White House, then no one's going to film it.
03:18:04.000So I'm a little bit surprised they didn't have something like this already.
03:18:07.000You're telling me that if NBC and CBS didn't show up that day, that nobody would be filming anything?
03:18:13.000So Trump is starting up his own thing, and surely that will work.
03:18:19.000I guess we'll see where it goes, who's going to blink first.
03:18:23.000In the end, I suppose the networks and specifically the cable networks, I feel like they're going to have to cave.
03:18:30.000I think they need to cover these things because they need the ratings.
03:18:34.000If Trump TV is going to absorb all the viewership and all the ratings on X and on YouTube and Facebook, it would seem silly for Fox News and CBS and the rest of them to leave all that money on the table, leave the market share out there.
03:18:50.000On the other hand, though, you can kind of see where the networks are coming from.
03:18:53.000In this administration, they want to get rid of CNN.
03:18:57.000In the administration of Gavin Newsom or John Ossoff, maybe they're going to want to get rid of Fox News.
03:19:03.000So you can understand why they're standing in solidarity with one another and why they need to draw a line in the sand here on this.
03:19:11.000In the end, though, I will say, and this is my takeaway as well, it makes you remember, actually, that one of the pillars of Trump's first campaign in 2016 was that he was going to, in a systematic way, target the media.
03:19:28.000And I don't know if you guys remember this because a lot of you guys were too young or you weren't red pilled or you weren't paying attention to politics.
03:19:38.000I would argue even before that, like in 2012 and 2008, that the media was a huge problem.
03:19:45.000And specifically for Republicans, for the opposition.
03:19:49.000And I say for the opposition because we don't like Republicans and we don't like Fox News.
03:19:54.000But anybody that wants to oppose the left, anybody that wants to oppose the left as the right, from the right, Whether you're a politician, whether you're an activist, a commentator, an academic, an intellectual, anyone who is in the opposition against the left, which is hegemonic in all the institutions, we have a left wing entertainment industry, we have a left wing news media, we have left wing universities.
03:20:19.000The left is in control of the bureaucracy.
03:20:21.000The left is in control, in many ways, of finance because of their control over the media and academia and the bureaucracy.
03:20:30.000So if the left is hegemonic, Across the institutions, if they are the ideological and moral and cultural power in the country, then anyone that is anti left is the opposition.
03:20:44.000And that's not just the Republican Party, because I'm not saying Democrats, I'm saying the left.
03:20:49.000Anyone that is not left, anyone that does not believe in DEI, feminism, diversity, anyone that does not believe in egalitarianism and something like socialist economics or social democracy, this sort of thing, you're going to run into this problem.
03:21:08.000If you're a right wing professor, if you're a right wing news agency, a right wing politician, even if you're just a right wing person trying to hold down a job, you're going to run into the problem that you cannot express yourself without being targeted by the media.
03:21:24.000And the media is like the primary weapon of the left.
03:21:29.000The media is the enforcer of the Democratic Party, which is the political power, but of the left broadly.
03:21:36.000And so this is something that Trump understood.
03:21:43.000And that's why in the 2016 campaign, Trump said, if I get elected, he said, I'm going to sue the media for libel.
03:21:51.000I'm going to go after the media and I'm going to bankrupt them.
03:21:55.000And he said, I'm basically going to destroy the media.
03:21:58.000And thus, with the media out of the way, it opens up the political process.
03:22:06.000You understand the relationship between this?
03:22:09.000Consider that if the media did not exist from top to bottom, We're not just talking about the big three television networks.
03:22:16.000We're not just talking about the papers of record like the Times and the Journal and the Post, even all the way down to the left wing activist rags like Right Wing Watch and Huffington Post and Slade and Salon and even the SPLC, which is a nonprofit that works with the media and Congress.
03:22:37.000If you went after these institutions, which act as a system, then politics would open up.
03:22:46.000And so consider a timeline where you could have a right wing professor in a university teaching a political class at an Ivy League school.
03:22:57.000And then you start getting people in the Federalist Society.
03:23:01.000You start getting people that are clerking for Supreme Court judges and people that wind up in the Fortune 500 companies and they're in the research labs where the big tech companies are scouting from that are right wing.
03:23:14.000You start to get an elite that is right wing.
03:23:54.000If I get elected, I'm going to go after them.
03:23:57.000And thus, once the media is out of the picture, politics can change.
03:24:02.000Then the right wing can begin to repair the country.
03:24:06.000And this is something that Trump understood on an instinctual level that it's these different parts of the constellation of left wing control it's the nonprofits, it's the media.
03:24:19.000It's the money and the super PACs that bankroll the politicians.
03:24:23.000If you can get some of these pieces off the board, if you can get some of these vital and powerful pieces, which kind of dominate the landscape off the board, then the right wing can start to win again.
03:24:35.000In other words, it's not just a matter of vote Republican, vote Republican, try to pass the bill that we like.
03:24:41.000Rather, we have to think in terms of the anatomy and structure of power.
03:24:46.000If we can analyze that and realize where these problems are, where the choke points are, and Take those out of the equation, then the right wing will ascend organically.
03:25:00.000It's disappointing that we are so far on the other side of that election.
03:25:06.000It's been, what is it, 11 years, 11 and a half years since Trump came down the escalator.
03:25:12.000And there has really been no meaningful attempt to grapple with any of this problem in the legacy media or even, for that matter, on social media.
03:25:23.000And I think what tends to happen is that these institutions are a little bit more resilient and flexible than we give them credit for.
03:25:33.000I think that a lot of these institutions know how to bend.
03:25:37.000That when they anticipate Trump is coming into power, I think they relax.
03:25:43.000And then when they see that Trump is weak or they see that Trump is ramping up his more authoritarian tendencies, let's call them, or more aggressive tendencies, I think then they get a little bit more intense.
03:25:56.000And I think that the mainstream media was giving Trump a lot of decent coverage in 2024.
03:26:02.000And they were giving him even some decent coverage in 2025.
03:26:06.000And I think so are the people at Meta.
03:26:09.000And I think so are the people at Alphabet.
03:26:11.000I think a lot of the tech oligarchs, why did they put up money for Trump's inauguration fund?
03:26:17.000Because they were bribing the administration.
03:26:19.000They wanted Trump coasting into 2025 with a mandate with the popular vote and the Electoral College and two chambers of Congress and the Supreme Court and this plan to remake the federal bureaucracy.
03:26:31.000I think they needed and they knew they needed to keep Trump happy so that he wasn't going to come in and cut all their heads off because he could have.
03:26:41.000If Trump came in in January 25, knowing that his enemies list consisted in Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos and the New York Times and CNN and MS Now, if he came in like this, they knew probably they weren't going to make it.
03:26:59.000But if they acceded to his rise to power and they only took issue with Project 2025 and Elon and some things here and some things there, then maybe they could buy themselves enough time.
03:27:53.000So, for all intents and purposes, it is January 2027.
03:27:58.000So, you're a few months shy of 12 years since coming down the escalator.
03:28:03.000And let's take a little survey of these institutions.
03:28:06.000Big tech is still liberal and they're still censoring.
03:28:09.000The mainstream media is still liberal and still 95% negative against Republicans and everyone else to the right of Donald Trump.
03:28:17.000And so, what is the legacy of Trump is that he has not actually, in any meaningful way, fought back against or meaningfully put checks on the power of any of these institutions.
03:29:47.000It'll make its way to the Supreme Court, and I'm sure the Trump appointed judges will let us down again, and they will rule that, yes, CNN has to be in the White House, and So does Politico and so does MS Now and the rest of them.
03:30:02.000And so to me, the whole thing is a farce.
03:30:04.000And to me, what this does is create a pattern in these closing days of the second term, which is what it feels like.
03:30:14.000It's as if Trump is really flailing around, just looking for anything, anything that he can do, anything where he can make a move.
03:30:24.000I almost feel living vicariously through Trump, feel like things are getting claustrophobic.
03:30:34.000His term has almost expired, term limited out of office, heading towards the midterm defeat.
03:30:40.000Increasingly, people in his own party are breaking from him, not willing to do his will.
03:30:46.000And so it seems like he's just lashing out, trying to do anything, everything and anything that he is still able to do unilaterally before all the powers completely taken from him.
03:30:58.000And increasingly, he's coming up against the Supreme Court, the federal judges, NATO, Iran, China, Russia, Senate Republicans.
03:31:09.000He's losing favor with everybody and just looking for what personal powers as the president is he still able to wield without being checked and immediately stopped by some other institution.
03:31:22.000That's what it looks like and that's what it feels like.
03:31:27.000And it seems like what he's able to do is just create spectacles, symbolic gestures, building the arch, having the UFC fight outside the White House, changing the White House ballroom, renaming the lake.
03:34:57.000Now you meet even your average white guy.
03:35:00.000Your average white guy is either a pussy whipped simp or he's some kind of loser degenerate, you know, sports betting, alcoholic, kind of like a high functioning, low boil alcoholic, like just drinking too much, getting fat.
03:35:30.000Or they're on some kind of drugs or something.
03:35:33.000This, or, or even better, they have a trans friend, or they've got trans friends, or like, you know, other insufferable people in their orbit.
03:36:37.000If you say the N word around them, they got a big stinking problem.
03:36:41.000You say something politically non correct about rape or women or pedophilia or race or the Jews, increasingly less so that, they got a big problem with it.
03:51:13.000And what I believe is that this is a political way to organize human beings.
03:51:20.000This is one of the ways that we organize human beings.
03:51:23.000And I believe it is efficacious and I support it.
03:51:27.000And so, and without getting into the details on this, there are, let's just say, there are nation states.
03:51:33.000I believe there should be nation states.
03:51:35.000And the purpose of the state is to protect the interest of the nation state, its vital economic security and political interests in the world.
03:51:47.000And so, in the context of God's, I mean, when you say, do we care as a human being, as an individual, I am compassionate and I'm sympathetic and I am morally opposed to it.
03:51:58.000And I think that the state, as a policy, should not do things that backfire and also things that are wicked.
03:52:05.000So, I don't think we should facilitate it as a government.
03:52:08.000However, our global mission, our mission statement is not to end all suffering.
03:52:14.000Our mission statement is not to police the actions of all states.
03:52:18.000Our mission statement is to do what is in the best interest.
03:52:21.000Economic security and political interest of the citizens of this country.
03:53:03.000There are leftists that their disposition is their anti colonialist.
03:53:09.000And so they're in favor of the liberation of all people from dependency on powerful states.
03:53:16.000And maybe they don't believe in states at all.
03:53:18.000Maybe they think that states and borders are artificial constructs and that the goal is to eliminate all nation states and the goal is to eliminate all borders.
03:53:27.000And so to that end, they want to take control of America so that we can facilitate that.
03:53:36.000To facilitate the transfer of power in America to a party that would, using America, try to undo the global order and get rid of borders and nation states.
03:53:46.000And not all governments are going to go along with this, but they're going to use America to unravel our empire, unravel our vassals and our system of control.
03:57:45.000Is this a real thing or is this helping people?
03:57:48.000It just turns into like one after the other.
