In this episode, I discuss the concept of herminia, the part of our soul that is our luck, or the personification of luck as a sort of guardian spirit. We can inherit hermine, we can share it, and we can fortify it.

00:00:00.000 For anyone who's not familiar with Hymenia, it's part of our soul.
00:00:04.480 It is the part of our soul that is our luck or the personification of luck as a sort of guardian spirit.
00:00:17.300 We can inherit Hymenia. We can share Hymenia.
00:00:23.160 And I think that, especially in the Auschwitz Folk Assembly, we do share a group hominia as far as the luck that we are building up. 0.96
00:00:34.400 It's partially inherited because where you come from and what your ancestors have done before, that is transferred to you. 0.78
00:00:42.980 But also, it's something that you can build up.
00:00:46.340 It's something that you can fortify.
00:00:47.840 and um and it's something that you can just inexplicably be blessed with too it's perhaps
00:00:54.900 the inherited part that part is harder to understand in some cases i think there may
00:00:58.740 you know maybe situations where you just don't understand why somebody seems to have such good
00:01:05.720 luck um and it's probably something that their ancestors have done for them if it doesn't appear
00:01:11.340 like there's anything in their life that um that makes that make sense but it is also you know it
00:01:17.980 is very much something that you can intentionally build up through through right action through
00:01:24.460 devotion to the aesir through physical fitness and mental fitness you can increase your chances
00:01:31.500 of being successful in any scenario by simply being better prepared the the person who is
00:01:38.300 on a boat that sinks. Um, you know, some people might say that the, you know, the person who's
00:01:44.460 able to swim back to shore was, was luckier, but they weren't lucky by accident. They were lucky
00:01:48.880 because they were a better swimmer. That's my understanding of Herminia. It is, it's something 0.99
00:01:56.340 to be careful with. I think that, you know, our, our, our law speaker has emphasized this a number
00:02:01.560 of times. We need to be careful about casually sharing our luck with others, our Herminia with
00:02:06.840 others. And in our modern culture, there's definitely sort of this casualness about,
00:02:12.060 you know, saying things like, good luck, or that's my lucky day. And those sort of things
00:02:17.540 are difficult to train out of our daily speech. You know, much like saying weird in an impious
00:02:25.740 way is difficult to train out of your speech, or just trying to teach yourself to not cuss. If you
00:02:30.780 happen to be a cusser, you have to really pay attention to your words. But I think
00:02:35.600 words are really important they can make things manifest in the world
00:02:43.520 deeds can make things more manifest but words do matter
00:02:46.840 and especially when talking about something magical or spiritual like
00:02:52.760 you don't want to be casual with it
