On the seventh day of Yule, we light a candle and remember community. While we are all unique individuals, we are nevertheless enmeshed in relationships with others. These relationships all bear benefits, for example, love, someone to talk to, financial help, as well as duties such as reciprocation, upholding the family s honor, and physical protection. Community also includes the ancestors, who look on from beyond the grave and nourish the souls of their descendants. Let us strengthen the bonds of community.
