Bankas Podcast - Francis Foster ｜ Bankas Podcast - #088

00:00:00.000 welcome to the podcast everybody we have my boy francis here who um your podcast is

00:00:06.340 quite popular super popular yeah yeah it's doing really well we um we're really happy with it we've

00:00:13.820 got i think 1.3 million on youtube as well as however many on audio and whatever else so yeah

00:00:19.460 it's uh it's it's it's kind of less of a podcast now more kind of a small media company like we

00:00:27.580 put monologues we've interviewed everyone from stephen fry tony hinchcliffe boris johnson

00:00:34.380 tulsi gabbard so it's tony hinchcliffe boris johnson yeah in the same vein yeah yeah we do man that was

00:00:42.220 that was a joint episode we did how did you start your podcast just just like any other podcast like 0.98

00:00:49.040 it was two idiot comedians in a room above a pub wow just you know because we what happened was 0.97

00:00:56.660 we the culture i don't know if you remember this but in 2016 post trump post brexit culture went so 0.99

00:01:04.860 weird it was almost like it was one day it was it was fine and then the next everything went into

00:01:12.940 overdrive you cancel culture you know it then there was this navigate narrative being propagated that

00:01:20.000 you know that we live in a world of nazis you know all of this stuff what do you think about 1.00

00:01:25.640 like people calling elon a nazi i think it's stupid and it's reductive and it's it's an 0.97

00:01:32.220 unintelligent way to behave um like because if you i can't remember the name of the visas i think it's 0.96

00:01:40.380 hb1 so do you remember that kind of fracture that happened in the mega movement where you had

00:01:45.680 people who were essentially mega the original kind of uh part of the movement where they were saying

00:01:53.200 you know america first we want to prioritize american citizens and then you had the tech

00:01:58.620 right which is kind of fronted by elon and at the time vivek ramaswamy and they were going well we want

00:02:04.340 the brightest and best to come here so elon wants the brightest and best to come here which means

00:02:11.320 people from all over the world who are super talented super smart coming to make america even

00:02:16.840 better than it already is like that doesn't really map onto nazism because what nazis want

00:02:23.260 is a good it's just an ethno state i mean that's one of the things i think that people 0.67

00:02:28.520 are just dumb i mean it seems like people have just lost track of like 20 years ago i think people 0.99

00:02:37.700 were even smarter and they were still stupid then i think we're getting dumber obviously as as a group 1.00

00:02:42.980 but then the smartest people are getting smarter because they have the ability to learn everything 0.99

00:02:49.120 but the people who are against elon just seem to be mostly aren't that educated or some of them will

00:02:55.880 be like oh i went to university yeah 40 years ago yeah and now you're just addicted to mainstream media

00:03:03.560 and that's where you get like all of your you know but but here's here's the thing as well ben i think a

00:03:10.360 lot of the time we there's we spend so much time online to the point we think online is reality

00:03:16.260 and the the lines between reality and online are blurred to such an extent but it's not reality like

00:03:24.420 if you go down the road and you have a conversation with someone about elon i think you'd actually have a

00:03:29.760 pretty nuanced conversation or opinion about it people when they're online they're incentivized because

00:03:35.720 of the algorithm to put out a comment or a tweet or whatever it may be that is as incendiary as

00:03:43.820 possible because then that will maximize the chance of them getting retweets followers engagement like no

00:03:50.700 one likes nuance online no one ever retweeted a tweet which goes you know guys this is actually pretty

00:03:57.500 complicated you know what i mean like people just want he's a racist or elon is king but then you 0.81

00:04:06.380 have things like what's happening in france which to me i at first i thought that was an april fool's

00:04:12.440 joke that um marine le pen is being arrested yeah and is that like what's the vibe of that in the uk

00:04:21.180 well look disclaimer i haven't really been following this story but i think it's very very worrying that

00:04:29.140 they need to make sure with france that this is all on board and perfectly legitimate because if it's

00:04:37.580 not this is going to come back and burn them really hard yeah really hard because they're not afraid of

00:04:44.880 protests yeah i mean i mean look the french the one thing you can say about the french is they do not 0.98

00:04:50.580 fuck about you know uh they did a protest once and you know what they did this is the most french 0.96

00:04:58.080 form of protest i've ever heard in my life they burnt down emmanuel macron's favorite restaurant 0.99

00:05:04.120 really is this recent it was a few years ago they would he's been in there for he's been like almost 0.96

00:05:09.880 a decade yeah and they were like you know what dickhead we're gonna we're gonna get you and we're 0.90

00:05:14.600 gonna burn down your favorite restaurant that's how you really get to a frenchman that's that's not 0.99

00:05:19.980 bad i mean it does feel like when they talk about democracy now they um they just mean like

00:05:27.340 the people we want in power yeah i mean it's kind of obvious right i mean it's obvious to say but

00:05:33.760 it's kind of like a powerful statement now to speak up about it because i mean being from canada

00:05:39.900 trudeau was in there for almost a decade yeah and that to them was that's democracy if he stays

00:05:48.900 that's democracy if he if if the liberal party loses then that's now we're in a fascist like

00:05:55.160 how can you operate a democracy when one party is fascism and the other party is democracy it doesn't

00:06:01.260 yeah i think one of the one of the things that we need to be very careful with is how people use

00:06:10.520 democracy and government to silence their opponents and marginalize them and attack them

00:06:19.780 and it's got to the point now where it feels that nobody when when they when they install a policy or

00:06:31.080 they implement a policy it's not because they want to make the country better it's because they want

00:06:37.020 to punish their opponents and once you get into that cycle i think it's it's dangerous society i really

00:06:44.160 do because the whole point of a people getting elected to power is because they want to make the

00:06:52.440 country better now we can disagree or agree about how we want to make the country better maybe

00:06:57.280 yeah exactly exactly you know you want to make germany great again yeah but um but yeah but that's

00:07:06.940 but but that's what it's kind of feeling like at the moment where every side is getting to power and 0.83

00:07:14.460 going you know what fuck you is it affecting the arts in europe or in well in the uk specifically 0.72

00:07:21.600 like comedy wise well put it this way so april the 1st last year 2024 uh we had the hate speech bill 0.99

00:07:30.800 which were which got passed and enshrined in law on april fools on april fools uh you know ironically

00:07:38.300 enough and uh what that means is that you can get charged you're going to get arrested charged uh

00:07:47.260 taken to court and and put in prison for up to five years if on stage you say something that a

00:07:54.960 reasonable person would find offensive how do they what do they consider a reasonable person somebody

00:08:01.200 like a muslim no uh what it means is um basically anybody who you find offensive but you may find

00:08:09.940 offensive so you could go to a comedy show get offended and report that yes 100 yes in scotland

00:08:17.880 in the edinburgh festival the world's largest arts festival and did that happen did that happen in

00:08:25.400 edinburgh has it no well it hasn't happened yet and this is what people say to me they go well it

00:08:30.800 hasn't happened yet has it i'm like i'm not saying whether it's happened or it's not happened my point

00:08:35.840 is it's now enshrined in law which means it probably will happen if you make something

00:08:41.560 illegal the reason that you do that is because you want to enforce that law otherwise what's the

00:08:48.660 point in it so for somebody like me here oh you're full that little tiny bit can you pull it just a

00:08:55.340 tiny bit yeah um for somebody like me who i'm gonna be doing a show in the uk um in london i'll visit

00:09:03.880 you in prison well i'm gonna bring you to the show just so you can maybe make a video if i get

00:09:09.380 taken out but is it the same for foreigners who are coming to do art or is there kind of like a

00:09:15.220 leeway where they're like well he's in and out well look let's let's let's make this clear so

00:09:20.520 scottish law and english law are different scotland is actually a separate country to england they're

00:09:27.740 part of the united kingdom but it's a separate country with a separate law so that law does not apply

00:09:33.660 in england it's only in scotland what wait really so the the more harsh speech laws are in scotland

00:09:40.840 not england yes because scotland has always is far more left wing than england because they don't

00:09:48.720 work uh they just sit all around all day and take heroin you know you know they you know what else

00:09:55.740 are you gonna do in fucking aberdeen anyway you mean it's not like braveheart at all no sadly not no 0.97

00:10:01.900 sadly nobody looks as good as mel gibson does because he's gonna make a remake he's australian 0.91

00:10:07.980 uh yeah yeah that would be good so but like a lot of the footage that people are seeing online of

00:10:13.980 people being arrested for like memes okay so that's in england oh shit so that's or is that both 0.55

00:10:19.480 that's both but that's in england so there was a case of i think her name is chelsea russell 0.65

00:10:25.080 this was around 2019 her best friend died in a car crash yeah both very young you know tragic awful

00:10:33.580 she was early 20s she uh put the lyrics of uh her friend and hers favorite rap song

00:10:42.200 which featured the n-word and put it on an instagram post uh she was then arrested and charged 1.00

00:10:48.200 and taken to court really yeah with it and it was was it the n-word with the er or with the a

00:10:54.960 uh i don't know but what is that even a charge of it's uh i think it was part of the uh the

00:11:03.340 online communications act so if you if you say things if you write things that are deemed to be

00:11:11.780 obscene or incitement to violence then you can be charged and arrested for that and that's kind of

00:11:18.640 the gray area so another example is that restrict you from leaving the country as well yeah yeah it's a

00:11:24.420 criminal record so jesus so there was a case where um a group of guys uh made a have you heard of the

00:11:33.480 grenfell tower disaster uh no so grenfell tower was an awful case where uh is one of our projects

00:11:43.000 and they put this cladding on there to make the tower look nicer right and make it look prettier

00:11:49.360 and it's a tower in a rough part of london with very poor working class people was that the tower

00:11:55.020 that burned down yeah the tower that burned down set fire horrible case police the fire service told

00:12:01.980 the people to stay in their rooms because they will do it because they will come and sort it so

00:12:06.200 the people stayed in their rooms because you're going to follow the orders of the fire brigade

00:12:09.300 but the the building went up in flames and people literally were burnt to death right awful 0.53

00:12:15.740 and then there were these three or four dickheads who created a their own version of made of

00:12:23.520 cardboard of grenfell tower said it alive put it on the internet right and you go like

00:12:30.300 you know it's not right but it's funny yeah yeah yeah somebody yeah yeah yeah there'll be people

00:12:37.060 there going oh that's really funny yeah like ben ben's gonna retweet it when he finds it

00:12:42.680 he's gonna share it and clip it i mean it's in poor taste but yeah but shouldn't that isn't part

00:12:50.420 of art that yeah and this is it so he then got they they got arrested and charged because people

00:12:57.620 reported them and look you i don't find that i don't think that's great comedy i don't find it

00:13:03.120 particularly funny you could argue it's insensitive all of those things are fair and valid these you

00:13:09.520 should be able to criticize these people and go hey what you do is not cool but but you arrest them

00:13:15.020 come on man to me it feels like a way of like you know how in the ussr it's like you're not allowed

00:13:21.740 to leave or like cuba or other communist countries throughout history it's like a way to say well if

00:13:28.140 you don't follow the rules now you're trapped yeah i guess you could still go to europe but you

00:13:33.560 probably couldn't go to america if you know it really does depend because now that we're out of

00:13:37.560 the european union so it's not yeah if you could you know if you have to declare and we have a lot

00:13:43.140 of countries whether you quite rightly whether you have a criminal record and it's up to them whether

00:13:48.480 they let you in or not and that's fair enough so there's a border that you have to cross to go to

00:13:54.180 france now through that tunnel yeah yeah so there's yeah there's now a border isn't there's no longer

00:13:58.660 freedom of movement there was always a border but there's no freedom of movement so france is up to

00:14:04.660 france whether they decide to let you in or not how harsh is that border not really that harsh it's

00:14:10.060 the french have you ever seen their work work ethic i mean i've seen videos where it's just migrants 0.95

00:14:15.680 walking down those tunnels and shit is that or maybe not the tunnels no no no they get on the 0.99

00:14:22.140 boats and they go over fuck yeah so it is worse in europe than here in terms of or is it more is 0.99

00:14:29.440 is some of it propaganda when you get there it's like oh this is actually pretty nice everything's 0.99

00:14:34.220 kind of chill well look you know people go you know i find it funny when americans just go to me

00:14:39.820 you know oh they say you know what's happening in london man and like it's bad it's so bad like i'm

00:14:46.040 scared about going there you're like dude you're from detroit i think you're gonna be okay

00:14:50.820 you know that you know there's but there is a problem definitely we do have a knife crime epidemic

00:14:56.540 um i'm more worried about the like doing a comedy show and having some psychopath try to

00:15:03.620 call the police because i said something i i find that that may happen so you know people there was

00:15:13.040 there was a story recently where parents made a complaint about school about

00:15:20.800 the school that their kids were in and six police officers turned up to arrest them oh i did see

00:15:26.520 that that's recent yeah yeah that's recent that was a few days ago but was the complaint do you know

00:15:32.060 or does anybody know no yeah so it's like you know it's but even even if they said something that was

00:15:41.980 wrong or you don't involve police unless it's a direct threat was boris johnson against this kind of

00:15:50.060 stuff look the problem is is the conservative government said that they were for free speech

00:15:55.720 but they weren't we're on our show we interviewed the now head of the conservative party kemi badenock

00:16:02.180 and we asked that it was taken over from yeah yeah it's taken over and in her own words and i asked

00:16:08.200 this on the show she went we talked right but governed left and she's okay with that or she's

00:16:14.860 embarrassed about she's embarrassed about that she says but then who knows if yeah but it begs the

00:16:21.480 question you were in charge for 14 years and you essentially brought in hate speech laws

00:16:28.800 online communications act all of this stuff and it's a lot of it ben it is because we're afraid to

00:16:35.540 talk about the things that are really important we just don't do it i feel like these people are 0.78

00:16:41.420 doing themselves a disservice because like the politician because then they become like shitty

00:16:45.900 historical figures you know like versus the other historic like it's cooler to be somebody who comes 0.65

00:16:51.760 in for a limited period of time and goes i care about the country let's make it better i don't care if

00:16:58.000 everybody hates me for you know like what elon's doing and people hate him for trying to make the

00:17:03.820 you know i i personally i've read most of his book and i think that elon genuinely just loves america 0.59

00:17:10.560 yeah and wants it because he doesn't have to do any of this shit and the same with trump to be 0.63

00:17:14.600 honest i mean trump has you know more some radical stuff in there that you well you could call it some 0.85

00:17:21.200 people call it radical whatever i mean the tariffs and canada stuff and you know whether that's going

00:17:26.280 to be a positive or not but um these guys are rich they don't need this but there's these historic

00:17:31.960 these political figures in in the uk and in europe that i feel like it's like guys you already have

00:17:38.900 you you've created something like macron it's like dude why do you need the power that's this that's

00:17:45.060 what democracy was i think is supposed to fight against is this that that's what fascism or all

00:17:52.120 these things that worry people are is the guy's in power for too long like nobody should be in power

00:17:58.120 for that long otherwise then it becomes like a china or a russia or a iran or whatever yeah but

00:18:04.940 look on the one hand i do agree with you on the other hand power is addictive you just see so many

00:18:10.840 people left right and center when they get power it's you know it's sort of like the ring in lord of

00:18:16.620 the rings where they're going yeah you know everybody wants it everybody thinks they can handle it but the

00:18:22.660 reality is they can't and but i feel like their power is diminished by like even though they have 0.97

00:18:29.500 they're the figurehead like if your country's going to shit and you're the guy in charge like 0.99

00:18:34.080 history is going to look at you as a bitch like it's not going to be like that guy was great 1.00

00:18:38.540 yeah but i think like nobody's going to look in 30 years and be like oh yeah emmanuel macron there 0.99

00:18:43.620 was a leader that's maybe you know what i mean that's that's just how i see it that and they also

00:18:49.280 get to do other powerful shit like if he quits tomorrow he'll be on the board of something and 0.59

00:18:54.660 you know wef and davos he'll still have tons of power maybe not the same power but i guess i know 0.93

00:19:02.320 what you mean i agree obviously but i guess my point is that we have to stop these people from

00:19:08.260 wanting that level of power because it shouldn't actually be that much power they should be

00:19:13.820 you know that that's why there's the levels of government right to create i think we're rapidly

00:19:21.640 approaching a point particularly in europe and where this where we the scales of yeah where the

00:19:30.080 scales have actually fallen from regular people's eyes and there's a growing disillusionment with

00:19:36.880 democracy which is actually really worrying so a lot of gen z kids say they no longer believe in

00:19:42.980 democracy particularly males in europe yeah they know in the uk they see in their quotes they want

00:19:49.260 a strong leader a strong man leader in order to lead to lead them and in their defense they would argue

00:19:57.020 look we've had democracy forever long we've asked repeatedly to lower immigration immigration hasn't 0.60

00:20:03.920 been lowered we've asked them to deal with the problem with illegal immigration that has not

00:20:08.760 happened either every policy look at covid covid really was done and look we can it's a broad it's

00:20:15.780 a broader discussion but covid was the entire policy it could be argued was to sacrifice the the future

00:20:24.480 of the young for old people and their presence do you believe that or do you i mean the timing of 0.94

00:20:32.080 covid and just the you know it's a coincidence that everything else is fucked as well like don't you 0.92

00:20:39.320 think that like obviously those all the governments are talking about this is an opportunity to like how 0.95

00:20:45.900 many leaders are still in power that were in power during covid i think that's insane like nobody in

00:20:51.220 their right minds wants somebody to be in power that kept them in their home right yeah so there's a lot

00:20:57.140 you know jacinda ardern boris johnson i'm trying to think of the others who were cron yeah uh macron

00:21:04.760 i'm not i'm trying to think of the other people who trump and trump well trump but at the tail end

00:21:09.620 got voted out and and then he came back then they softened people forget this that when biden came in

00:21:15.600 they softened those covid laws almost immediately like as soon as he won it was like oh covid's done

00:21:22.500 yeah but look and i also think ben that you also have to be fair we all have to accept as well that

00:21:29.720 when covid first came out we were all terrified yeah you remember like the chinese doctors who were 1.00

00:21:36.440 all dying do you remember when it got to italy and then those that footage of those you know patients

00:21:43.120 and it was just rampaging through italy no it was scary everybody was everybody was okay with it at

00:21:49.060 first yeah but that's because it was the two two weeks yeah two weeks to slow and then it became

00:21:56.280 a long time but you know democracy in my opinion i mean my dad was born in the ussr and um you know

00:22:05.680 he said you know depend doesn't matter what the reason is for locking people down it still

00:22:11.000 is dictatorial yeah of course and look but i think it rapidly became obvious to many people myself

00:22:20.840 included that this that this wasn't solving anything in fact it was causing more harm than it

00:22:29.560 that was causing way more harm it was just awful so i used to be a school teacher they shut schools

00:22:36.200 the impact on kids has been disastrous it's been disastrous yeah now they want a dictator yeah

00:22:43.060 you know when you're at zoom school they're like we need a strong leader this is 0.99

00:22:47.800 fucked i can't do this shit yeah so in the uk there is there was at the time there was about 0.99

00:22:55.360 30 000 kids who went to school less than i think one day a week or around about two days a week or less 0.99

00:23:01.980 that's now gone up to 100 000 there's kids who have literally disappeared from the electoral from

00:23:07.340 the school register tens of thousands of kids who now just don't go to school nobody actually even

00:23:13.560 knows where they are one of the things one of the other things so cigarettes and uh driving speeds

00:23:21.140 i i think we're also another thing that these you know pro we're we're the party of democracy but they

00:23:29.260 they want people to not be able to smoke which it's under the guise of health and i get that but

00:23:35.660 you know we're in austin texas we how many we smoke inside a lot of places i mean i can't believe the 0.52

00:23:41.220 amount of comedians who fucking smoke here i'm like what is this 1993 but i miss but that is a right 0.94

00:23:48.700 that was taken away in a way to be able to smoke where you want smoke in an airplane and was it good 0.98

00:23:55.260 for people's health no but was it a right that was taken away yeah now a new thing and i don't know

00:24:01.220 how it is in the uk but in canada most of the main roads used to be like 60 kilometers then they were

00:24:08.160 50 now they're 40 now they're 30 kilometers yeah and and they have speed cameras everywhere so as soon

00:24:14.640 as you go over that limit you're getting an automatic which my dad was in azer azerbaijan and like they 1.00

00:24:22.000 have that like every couple you know half a kilometer there's another sensor and if you go

00:24:28.680 over the speed you automatically get like a ticket and certain cars that pay to the government or have 0.90

00:24:34.460 some like or like are more like diplomats and shit they just like there's like a lane for fast people

00:24:40.040 and then everybody else has to go slow but i think that also is an issue that people those small things 0.98

00:24:46.640 people don't think of like nobody's going to protest that nobody's going to protest for cigarettes i want

00:24:51.700 to be able to smoke cigarettes inside or i want to be able to drive not 30 kilometers an hour so i think

00:24:58.140 that also has taken like that that was kind of the first thing i know exactly what you mean and to me

00:25:05.040 this is this is what i saw with covid and what actually depressed me about my own country is that

00:25:11.820 people wanted to be safe that's what they craved above all else and all else but i want the government

00:25:17.820 to protect me and my attitude is safety is nothing but an illusion i spent a lot of my time

00:25:25.100 in venezuela that's where my mom's from i saw society descend into an authoritarian communist regime 0.99

00:25:31.220 i saw my uh relatives thrown into jail flee for their lives they could smoke inside though yeah yeah they 0.97

00:25:39.900 could smoke inside yeah because they're not pussies and but the the reality is is like when you give up 0.99

00:25:47.340 rights or power for safety that's that that's not actually what you're doing what you're doing is 0.91

00:25:53.960 giving up rights and freedom to the government and as we all know when the government implement laws

00:25:59.960 they are ain't gonna get it back so income tax for example income tax came into the uk do you know

00:26:07.340 when was like like 70s no income tax came in during the first world war okay because the government

00:26:14.040 went look we're at war with you know germany we need to take more revenue in to make sure that we can

00:26:20.960 pay for munitions to pay for the war effort but guess what when the war is over we'll lift income tax

00:26:29.320 they lied that was over 100 years ago jesus christ they're not gonna do it they're not gonna do it

00:26:34.880 every liberty and freedom that you give up how did they make money before how did they make money

00:26:40.260 before they still had various other taxes you know that they did sales yeah sales tax and you know and

00:26:46.140 other taxes but the reality is you know once you give up your power to government you or they implement

00:26:56.520 laws it is going to take a lot of protest and a lot of pushing back before those laws are repealed

00:27:03.380 and you're gonna have to fight it's kind of a miracle that they that we got out of covid like

00:27:08.880 there was a point where i was like this is just gonna they're gonna shut everything down forever

00:27:12.480 and not let anybody do anything but i think that the people did protest a lot and that was helpful i

00:27:19.460 mean the canadians kind of started that one protest of the truckers there was some similar things i

00:27:24.400 think in the uk europe yeah i like the farmers i like the farmers in europe that they just dump like 0.94

00:27:31.440 cow shit yeah like that's a that's a form of protest i guess that yeah is but yeah we could 0.95

00:27:39.200 have been stuck in that yeah and that was a real fear of mine ben that we were never going to get 0.97

00:27:45.500 out of it that it was just going to be we were going to be i remember they interviewed um

00:27:50.640 what's his name neil neil ferguson and uh he was one of the guys who was in charge of our covid policy

00:28:01.980 and he said in an interview in the sunday times he went we looked to china and we realized and we saw 0.84

00:28:12.520 them as a role model for what we could do in the uk it's fucked i remember that i remember when they 0.82

00:28:19.220 had a chinese doctor come to italy and like just in chinese translated being like this is what you 0.96

00:28:26.940 need to do yeah do a lockdown and nobody they've never really been punished for that oh what no no but

00:28:35.540 this is the interesting thing is that we followed the china what the chinese did the lockdowns had

00:28:42.060 never been attempted before every other pandemic we never had a lockdown so we had a lockdown and

00:28:47.860 because of what the chinese did what you want to follow an authoritarian communist regime with zero 0.88

00:28:53.660 human rights which keeps muslim uyghurs in concentration camps what is that what you want is that what you're 1.00

00:29:00.960 following and that that's what they believed in that's what they thought was good i think china's

00:29:06.660 way smarter than we even can imagine or start to imagine which is and the food's great the food's

00:29:12.660 great no but i love i mean i make fun of chinese people the mayor of toronto obviously i i honestly

00:29:18.040 don't even know if i'm going to do another impersonation of her because it's just i do an

00:29:23.020 impersonation of there's the mayor of toronto's chinese go on let's do it let's do it she's well

00:29:27.740 she has like one of her eyes is like weird and she's like she's always she's making up these new

00:29:36.720 taxes all the time she want she came up with a rain tax a rain tax yeah we need to have a rain pack 1.00

00:29:42.600 when the rain fall on the ground you need to it's all this crazy shit um and during covid the 0.97

00:29:51.120 like canada's dr fauci was also a chinese woman with a pretty yeah thick chinese 1.00

00:29:57.440 accent which was crazy because she was the one you know i stay inside don't go outside

00:30:02.100 and all that stuff so i made fun of that stuff and and i kind of got you know but anyway um

00:30:09.020 but china gets away with a lot of this stuff but i think that they they have people studying culture

00:30:14.560 um of america the west more than we realize and i think that they knew

00:30:20.000 more than we knew about what would happen after covid yeah in terms of the societal

00:30:26.820 degradation with you know maybe they didn't know specifically which groups were going to go nuts

00:30:33.900 but i think they knew like there's going to be the you know the blm thing and then

00:30:38.760 their algorithms their app helped push a lot of that stuff like tiktok yeah um and then you know the 1.00

00:30:47.340 gay shit like the transgender shit which isn't like the bad part about it is it just makes people 1.00

00:30:53.760 get angry yeah right and and kids get they're mutilated that no no but i mean that's of course 1.00

00:31:00.940 but i'm saying like the bigger impact is just people are just nuts now over it yeah they use those kids 0.95

00:31:07.460 to to make everybody enraged and arguing and stuff which is even more fucked up but my point is that i 0.99

00:31:14.620 feel like they kind of fucking knew some of this shit was going to happen now we have the jew thing 1.00

00:31:18.320 where people are like and i mean the jews have done you know there's some like i i've been reading 0.99

00:31:24.660 i've been trying to become more anti-semitic um just to keep my fan base yeah you've got it man

00:31:31.900 you've got you've got to do that you've got to do that well the thing aren't you jewish yeah my dad

00:31:37.120 is so you're not jewish no technically no technically no but here's the interesting the jews

00:31:43.120 wouldn't accept you but if the nazis came to power they'd be like ah yeah no i do so ben you're

00:31:49.060 half jewish come come with me i do a bit about that how i have i'm gonna have to explain how this 0.85

00:31:53.720 works to like a palestinian terrorist at the at the mall like a bit of ak-47 in my head i'm like

00:31:59.340 have you read the torah technically um but yeah it's uh my dad's jewish so i kind of always and

00:32:07.300 my grandparents were holocaust survivors apparently yeah my one friend was always like yeah yeah sure

00:32:13.120 but so i kind of felt like i needed to defend jews in a way and like i still i you know i love jewish

00:32:21.440 people like a lot of my fans are jewish and um but then you know it's just interesting the things

00:32:28.140 like the jewish doctor was the first transgender clinic in germany or something so but now people

00:32:35.080 are using that as a reason to be like see that's why they deserve to be murdered and i'm like well 0.99

00:32:40.260 maybe no maybe they deserve to have a couple podcasts where the people said that was stupid 0.99

00:32:44.880 yeah you know or like some stand-up comedy about it yeah but people are now getting to the point where

00:32:50.360 they're ready to justify almost anything like in terms of yeah i don't know if people are ready

00:32:58.000 to start rounding people up but one of my uh cousins from israel was like it's not what's

00:33:04.900 happening now it's 10 15 years from now if it keeps going that way and it's going to be tough

00:33:11.600 because you know epstein listen when you boys do something you do you you're the best at it yeah

00:33:20.640 yeah yeah yeah exactly banking smashed it astro physics smashed it nobel prize winners smashed it

00:33:28.400 pedophiles nailed it yeah no exactly you're high level but jews get blamed like because people will

00:33:34.820 be like well there's jews who are left and then there's jews who are on the right so they're

00:33:39.980 that's how they manipulate it's like isn't that every group though of course man look here's here's what

00:33:46.160 here's my version of it anthony fauci and rogan are both italian yeah so i never saw i never thought

00:33:53.320 joe was italian until i saw until i saw him smash back espressos oh yeah and i'm like yeah yeah that's

00:34:00.020 an italian man you know yeah when you go when you go to his uh studio the the milk doesn't work 0.98

00:34:06.780 for the foaming thing doesn't work on his coffee machine and i'm like of course it doesn't he's italian

00:34:11.340 he just wants to sit there smashing back an espresso it's in their genes but um i think

00:34:17.660 anti-semitism is kind of like the the herpes simplex virus in that it's always latent in the

00:34:25.760 human body but when the human body is weak or it's not an optimum condition or it's in some way

00:34:32.960 degraded that's when the virus flares and that's kind of like anti-semitism most people don't really

00:34:40.220 buy into this stuff when society is going well but you know when people are suffering when

00:34:45.200 you did everything correctly and yet you still can't make ends meet and you can't have a family

00:34:52.480 and you can't own a home and you're poor and every day is a struggle financially i think i mean this is a

00:34:58.920 maybe it's a wild theory but i think china has some hand in this because they knew they they probably had 0.98

00:35:06.040 a list of all the fucking things that were gonna could happen after covid there's gonna be the anti-black 0.98

00:35:11.220 stuff there's the anti-asian stuff there's the anti-trans stuff and or and if they push that 0.98

00:35:17.140 narrative then it's gonna bring anti-semitism and it's and they were even funding like unless i'm

00:35:24.020 wrong they helped fund iran which helped fund hamas like they're like china's not against what's

00:35:32.260 happening no it's benefiting them the more arguing because now all all of our societies are like we're

00:35:38.120 not on the same team anymore no it's so bad you know what i find it very interesting that you see

00:35:44.480 these tweets that are rabidly anti-semitic or anti-black or whatever it may be and you look at

00:35:52.620 the engagement on them and you're going did 80 000 people really like this tweet so it pops up in my

00:35:59.700 timeline or is it just a bot or is it bot farms that have been then used to kind of you know

00:36:07.860 amplify amplify and create this full sense of engagement you look at the account that it's

00:36:13.840 come from it looks sus so you go like how much of this is actually real and how much of this is so

00:36:21.400 that our minds get played with it's like i see nick fuentes and and i and you you see a clip of his and 0.92

00:36:29.340 you see the level of engagement it gets and it's you know it's some just basic anti-semitic crap 0.94

00:36:35.960 or you know racist crap whatever it may be and you're going some of it's funny yeah you know here 0.97

00:36:41.900 you you know if it was more for entertainment purposes it would be funnier yeah but it's obviously 0.96

00:36:48.980 you know there's a malice what do you think the purpose is i think the purpose is to divide i really

00:36:53.840 do i think the purpose could be he china's loves a person like that yeah i mean i'm not saying that

00:37:01.160 this is true but it wouldn't surprise me if a few years down the line we found out that he'd been

00:37:06.100 that you know he would been subsidized by russia or china and as a result his content was being

00:37:11.260 amplified because that is exactly the type of character that creates division i mean he says some 0.94

00:37:17.340 stuff that you go what yeah but then i even have fans who are like what do you mean i fucking like 0.92

00:37:22.940 them you know i have fans that turn on me because they're like oh you don't think that israel shouldn't 0.81

00:37:30.200 exist i'm like well i don't my thing is like the people who don't want israel to exist don't want

00:37:37.240 america to exist they don't want canada to exist and then and then after they're done with that they

00:37:42.420 want all of europe to become like re like colonized by whatever other powers there are so that's what 0.98

00:37:50.400 concerns me but i do think that you know there's i think there's issues with with israel that people

00:37:55.800 can take up but like the idea that we're just gonna like take all those jews and put them 1.00

00:38:00.740 in another country where everybody already hates jews like where are they gonna go maybe america 0.78

00:38:06.840 they could just all move here and we could just call it and we could just go all right it's yours

00:38:13.600 tel aviv it's it's jaffa again or whatever just have fun yeah i i just think that but it's not

00:38:21.240 realistic do you know you know what i i think the problem is ben is that and i include myself in this

00:38:27.520 i i think the people nowadays were incentivized to have an opinion about things that we know nothing

00:38:34.700 about you know and when people go have i have a really strong held opinion on israel i'm like okay

00:38:41.500 cool so you didn't have this strongly held opinion before october 7th that's interesting uh have you

00:38:49.880 done any reading have you read any books no oh i saw candace owens interview you're like okay is that 0.77

00:38:57.880 uh damn built sarian you're going okay these aren't legitimate people that's another effect that 0.90

00:39:10.340 covet had was a lot of and i hate to say this well i don't hate to say it but a lot of women 1.00

00:39:15.940 who were kind of apolitical yeah like didn't you know didn't read an article about shit yeah no 0.97

00:39:25.140 politics didn't give a fuck um i was actually dating someone when covet hit and covet hit she 1.00

00:39:31.020 was afraid to meet up that was fine and then blm happened and i was like this is bullshit and like 0.99

00:39:38.000 i post i did some funny shit i mean remember the black square day oh yeah yeah i posted a white square 0.99

00:39:43.040 just to be a dick just to be fine i was like is this the right one i think i don't know just i was 0.97

00:39:48.020 you know i'm a comedian i was trying to be funny and it's tough times so kind of need that a little bit 0.93

00:39:53.660 of pushback and to be funny did that do well that post it did i mean it made every comedian in

00:39:58.280 toronto like start uh slandering my name i mean of course yeah standard stuff yeah nothing crazy

00:40:05.180 but um you know she was like oh you don't know anything about this and it's like you don't either

00:40:11.960 like what are we talking like yeah i knew you before this you weren't you never brought up a

00:40:17.660 fucking political argument or article or sent me anything but it it made people who weren't 0.92

00:40:23.740 political be political and you could argue that's a good thing like trump did that too people give a 1.00

00:40:29.020 shit and then all of a sudden they gave a shit but then it just it's made people feel like what you 0.99

00:40:35.940 said where it's like i have to have an opinion about everything because that's my identity now 0.99

00:40:39.540 and i think that that's like manufactured a bit of course it's we because everybody now has social 0.78

00:40:48.040 media we've all been turned into these crap little celebrities yeah yeah yeah and as a result that

00:40:56.740 means that we now need a public statement on literally everything ukraine what's your stance on 0.80

00:41:02.520 ukraine what's your stance oh yeah what's your stance on israel palestine why are you silent about

00:41:08.780 the vaccine are you going dude i'm an accountant like what why well if you're an accountant with a

00:41:17.520 following then i'm an accountant with a with four or not i'm of 386 followers on instagram most of whom

00:41:25.300 are my friends and family but if you didn't put that black square on what are you pro-racism 0.98

00:41:31.160 you're like fuck off but what do you think like when when fascism happened like they called it 0.99

00:41:37.280 fascism because it was the fascisti from like it was from italy yeah it was but they love it over 1.00

00:41:43.140 there but did hitler say like i'm a fascist or was it later said well he was a nationalist socialist

00:41:50.320 party right but my question is whatever we're going through right now might have a name later

00:41:56.900 yes yeah i think what we're going through right now is i don't i wouldn't even i i i think what

00:42:05.160 we're going through right now it's like a mix of everything it's you know there was a there's a very

00:42:11.760 famous quote from nietzsche which is when you look into the abyss the abyss look the abyss looks into you

00:42:16.860 and that's kind of what we're going through we're looking at these phones and our brains aren't able

00:42:24.940 to handle it we're not able to process this amount of information you know that i've had you know i've

00:42:32.040 had pylons from comedians and comedians have tried to get me cancelled i remember the first time i went

00:42:37.240 on rogan rogan said why do all uk comedians suck and i laughed and went ha yeah they do someone clipped

00:42:44.040 that it then kind of went semi-viral where it went viral within my the uk comedy industry 0.96

00:42:48.720 then it turned into a pylon then all these comedians came out and tried to get me fired from my agent

00:42:54.640 all of this stuff and look you know i i'd be lying if i said like i it's not ptsd or anything like that

00:43:04.280 but i would be lying if i said that it didn't have some residual effect yeah you know like every time i do

00:43:11.020 a podcast or whatever else i'm kind of going oh is that going to get clipped and turned into

00:43:15.380 something like it was when i went on rogan it's like a mental handcuff yeah and i think that it's

00:43:22.260 like a holocaust of thought yeah i i just think that nobody thinks about people being human beings

00:43:28.740 anymore we're all avatars on the internet not nobody but there's a vast yeah group a big group that

00:43:35.340 have become animalistic on the internet and i wouldn't even say animalistic i i think that's

00:43:42.400 doing a disservice to animals if i'm being honest i think it's just it's we're having our brains

00:43:50.160 hijacked we're not even seeing another the other person is human they're an avatar and you go oh this 0.57

00:43:55.640 is a glorified computer game let's get them but it's not a computer game these are people's lives

00:44:01.260 just as like when you put that white square which is objectively really funny almost as funny as

00:44:08.380 burning a cardboard tower i think it's funnier than that because it's not really talking about

00:44:14.400 it it's not really pro-death and i think that but like what's happening in is like with the wars that

00:44:24.020 are going on and it's like you're not allowed to make jokes about war but unless you're coming at it

00:44:30.260 from one side yeah i think that that's not right i think you should be able to make a pro-russia joke

00:44:37.040 of course even if you're not like doesn't mean i'm like yeah i'm gonna go and take up arms i'm gonna

00:44:42.340 move there and it's like or okay 40 000 people die 100 000 so you're never allowed to so oh okay people

00:44:50.120 died i mean people make holocaust jokes people make every joke yeah because it's a way of coping

00:44:55.820 it's a natural it's always been there like in roman times they probably were making jokes about oh

00:45:01.400 remember the elephant thing stamped on the guy because you know they had like elephant tanks 0.59

00:45:07.000 whatever they fucking had but people they must have been made like making jokes of course 0.96

00:45:12.840 so it's normal of course because you've got to look if you think about life at its most honest and 0.99

00:45:21.340 brutal it's pretty bleak it's pretty bleak you know we're all going one way you we nobody knows what's

00:45:29.780 gonna happen we're all gonna die yeah we're all gonna die everything is finite like my mom passed

00:45:37.000 away and like my mom was very funny and would always and like we had relatives that would pass away and

00:45:41.620 then you know you'd be at the funeral making jokes about them yeah about that like that's i mean then

00:45:46.240 shoes came from british that's a bit of british kind of tongue in cheek yeah but that's how they 0.92

00:45:51.980 dealt with it that's how they dealt with the fucking war yeah because you cope you cope by making jokes 0.80

00:45:59.320 about the darkness of a situation because that's a coping mechanism it's a strategy you laugh you feel 0.98

00:46:05.400 better what's the i mean i don't believe the whole like uk comp like who's the comedian who's really 0.82

00:46:12.840 he's like the fat british guy who's like really racist and or was he british oh roy chubby brown 0.97

00:46:17.940 are you talking about uh fuck i don't know i had his tiktoks are coming up if anybody in the comments 0.99

00:46:24.820 knows what i'm talking about but he had this joke where he's like talking about he's super racist 0.99

00:46:29.260 like about blacks this is like i think in the 70s oh bernard manning yeah yeah yeah drunk guy 0.72

00:46:35.720 yeah yeah bernard manning and he'd be like they say the black people you want your water yeah yeah

00:46:41.820 oh thanks man cheers yeah he's like the black people they say they're british because they live 1.00

00:46:50.920 yeah he's like so is his horse is it something that lives in the stable i forget what he was

00:46:57.120 saying oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah but that that was funny yeah i mean yeah he had this

00:47:04.780 one great joke man which is um he went you know people say i'm anti-semitic he went which is i find

00:47:12.500 really offensive because my dad died in auschwitz he fell from watchtower

00:47:18.020 yeah no he was jewish though yeah yeah he was a jewish brit yeah yeah he was big alcoholic yeah just 0.91

00:47:26.320 classic yeah yeah big fat alcoholic yeah and you would do those like he has videos on youtube of him 0.88

00:47:33.700 just in these british pubs probably not even in london like in the countryside just murdering just

00:47:40.120 killing just killing and everybody was respectful to him because he was just the man oh yeah yeah

00:47:46.640 yeah at the time he was the best british comedian he had brilliant his jokes were like my dad and my

00:47:53.980 uncle loved him because it was that it was that time but you're also like ethnic minority people

00:48:01.140 loved him because the joke it's you know if you're making a joke behind closed doors only and not in 0.90

00:48:07.500 front of people then that is more like fucked up yeah and just straight up being like yo and then 0.91

00:48:14.800 the minorities are like feel now they're more a part of the culture yeah so it's like yeah i'm being 0.99

00:48:19.420 made fun of you're being made fun of we're all being made fun of who gives a shit yeah that's how 0.95

00:48:24.620 and that's but that that was when people were still assimilating to british culture yeah and you guys 0.98

00:48:30.800 have the accent though so people it's weird that people don't assimilate but then they have the accent

00:48:34.760 accent that is true that is true that is that is very interesting like you think if you have the 0.96

00:48:42.540 accent you're like all right fuck it taking off the hijab let's have some tea and crumpets and call 0.99

00:48:48.700 it a fucking day you know what i mean but yeah we've got very severe problems in the uk it's that there 1.00

00:48:55.160 is it's so bad dude it's so bad you know what really embarrasses me people hate jews sorry to cut you 0.99

00:49:02.000 off but people hate jews because they're willing to assimilate no you know why people hate jews is 0.86

00:49:07.320 because they're too successful well that too yeah and they're a little bit annoying yes can we just

00:49:12.980 submit that ben shapiro makes me understand like the holocaust a little bit not actually like i'm joking

00:49:21.380 but like he there is like in hell and you're like okay well that is a little much that's a little

00:49:27.700 stereotypical you know i've got like i'm going to sound racist now but i've got a lot of jewish

00:49:32.360 friends but even like when i'm hanging out with them i'm like can we please stop with the whining

00:49:36.580 yeah i just just start with the whining your life's great you're like come on yeah you know

00:49:45.060 it's a distraction it's like um you know if you ever play nfl like on the video game yeah where you

00:49:51.500 like it's like a juke because like while they're complaining their life's getting better and then

00:49:55.780 they're making you listen to the complaints thinking their life's getting worse yeah and

00:49:59.860 it's just this endless like complaining it's just like dude you're crushing it like a jew after a 1.00

00:50:06.360 flight they're like can you believe it they had to do this they didn't have gefilte fish on the menu

00:50:10.760 yeah and it's look every race is it and a group of people have their thing that makes them super

00:50:19.180 fucking annoying you know it makes them super annoying i know americans don't like us because 0.89

00:50:24.600 they think we're arrogant and that we're they think that we think that we're better than you 0.98

00:50:29.100 and we are but we created the language i think you should be i never failed to stop point it's a

00:50:36.180 point i never failed to point that out to americans do you find it interesting how the accent has like

00:50:42.800 shifts and like in texas because the texas accent still came from a version of yeah or like the boston

00:50:49.460 accent came from a version of british you know the british accents yeah you know what mixture you

00:50:57.540 know and then europeans here's a lot of germans yeah there's a lot of germans which is very very

00:51:04.640 strict on some things you're like they're very direct i'm like well dude you're like you don't have

00:51:10.960 to be that direct you know that's that's that's pretty that's like you sometimes i talk to americans

00:51:17.940 and i'm and i'm like could you have just softened it a little bit please you just like boom and you're

00:51:23.860 like oh that kind of hurts yeah new braunfels yeah and you just like ah that's that's that's that

00:51:30.320 hurts dude that's a that's a punch to the solar plexus but i think americans don't get

00:51:35.840 when we're talking about kilotonin yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so uh that this will probably be out by 0.99

00:51:44.260 then uh yeah oh man well we'll fuck yeah it's good publicity it's good no it's not watching me bombing 0.96

00:51:53.380 on one of the biggest shows in the world but you know it is what it's it's the no one you know people 0.99

00:52:00.420 go like i'd love to be a stand-up and the good highs are great but the lows are so bad yeah they're

00:52:08.500 just you know six in comedy success is you can be crushing it elusive but you can be crushing it but

00:52:19.280 if you have one bad moment i don't know about you it's just like you're in a boxing match you're like

00:52:24.720 i'm doing great and then you just get hit on the side of the gut and you just go yeah and you're on

00:52:31.140 the floor and the and it's like six seven you're like oh it's kind of i think of it as like the way

00:52:38.100 to get around that it's like you know when you're driving and you're you're not supposed to look at

00:52:42.040 the road right here you're supposed to look like way over there it helps you stay in the lines better

00:52:45.560 yeah i think that's part of it you just take you know you have to roll with the punches literally

00:52:50.040 but yeah no i know what you mean i've had moments like that i've had nights like that but i think

00:52:56.800 they happen less if you give them less like power you know yeah they kind of stop mattering like i

00:53:05.260 did a kill tony and it was like a meh kind of half and half yeah set like the first time i did it i was

00:53:10.940 telling you it did really well i got like a bunch of followers second time was like half as good and

00:53:16.500 people were like bad hack shit well but like it's like who cares though because i don't like i mean 0.89

00:53:24.780 i'm lucky enough and i was lucky enough that i'm like selling tickets and touring and stuff and my 0.99

00:53:29.040 fans were like dude i loved it the fucking fuck them but that's it is really hard it's a really hard 0.99

00:53:36.520 thing to do that people you know you see comics that have no following no future no nothing and then 1.00

00:53:45.160 they're happy and you're like how are you happy oh man i when i when i that's the happiest yeah when

00:53:50.980 i talk to some of these people and they're like they they look like they've won a lottery ticket i'm

00:53:55.540 like dude you live in a shed yeah and i'm like why are you happy like what is going on here and it's

00:54:03.020 like it's not like me like looking down on them i'm just like give me what you have is this

00:54:07.840 mental illness exactly you have to like embrace that you have to remember oh that was me

00:54:12.160 x amount of years ago oh absolutely like if i when i was three years into comedy and i was at 0.66

00:54:17.620 an open mic i was just like you know and now if i'm there i'm like oh fuck this this could be this 0.65

00:54:24.720 could be my the rest of my life if i don't keep killing it you know what i mean yeah but no there's 0.97

00:54:30.840 a lot of believing in yourself a lot of people don't believe in themselves that's just the reality

00:54:34.680 and because believing in yourself means that you're gonna lose friends it means you're gonna lose

00:54:40.520 relationships you're gonna you were talking about this last night like to be the best you have to

00:54:45.760 sacrifice a lot of things and you have to pick and choose what those things are i remember my first

00:54:50.500 my friend group at the beginning of covid i don't talk to them at all yeah because my one friend i used

00:54:56.100 to do commercial real estate like office leasing and um i'm doing comedy also i started comedy in 2011 but

00:55:03.500 he was like oh if you quit this job because i was quick because i got signed by a comedy club in

00:55:10.300 canada called yuck yucks no no yuck yuck you know they put you on a roster and all their shows

00:55:16.580 typically sell out across the country they have like 12 clubs and then they have a bunch of small

00:55:22.500 rooms they do as well that they'll like send you out to and they all sell out so even if you don't

00:55:28.020 have a name or a following you get a ton of experience now a lot of those comics just end up doing

00:55:33.460 the same jokes for 25 years yeah phone it in but if you really want to excel you can film all those

00:55:39.120 sets it's great crowds you can get you can go i mean that's what i did i i i prioritized that kind

00:55:45.000 of thing but um i quit my job because i was like i'd rather make 200 bucks doing this a night or not

00:55:55.420 every night but when i get a gig um then doing commercial real estate and one of my friends was like

00:56:01.800 you're making a big mistake you're never going to make more money at comedy doing than doing this 0.90

00:56:06.880 and i was like fuck you guys and then i proved them wrong so i was kind of that you do have to do that 0.99

00:56:12.040 and i think a lot of people are afraid even comic like people are doing comedy even people who are 0.99

00:56:18.000 in the really good clubs but they have these smaller followings but they're afraid to because

00:56:22.260 the second they're like i'm actually going to film everything and spend all my time editing and

00:56:26.320 posting and i'm going to try to uh create an online persona or start a podcast yeah blow it up

00:56:32.340 like how many people hated you only after your podcast started doing well it's like everybody 0.95

00:56:39.000 but if your podcast sucked like it's the same that if jews were just poor 1.00

00:56:43.660 no one would hate them no they'd be like oh poor little jew oh yeah exactly but it's just oh oh fuck 1.00

00:56:50.440 they're well fuck you or anybody trump elon i mean it's it's um it's just what you have to sacrifice 1.00

00:56:59.280 right you've got to be prepared to be hated and you know what if people were honest and just went 0.99

00:57:05.560 i can't deal with being hated i would have a lot more respect for them because it's it's not nice like

00:57:12.700 i'm gonna be i want to be the guy who everybody likes you know it's like hey it's francis i want

00:57:17.660 to get on with people i want to have friends i want to hang out i want you know it's not nice 0.98

00:57:22.720 going oh he's a cunt you can only hang out with other people that are severely hated 0.97

00:57:27.940 that's kind of what what happens but yeah no it is i had a there was a comic the other day talking 0.99

00:57:35.000 about a you know a famous comic who was a millionaire and they're like yeah but a lot of

00:57:38.760 people hate him i'm like bro what do you think this is like you think you're gonna get famous and

00:57:45.460 people are just everybody across the board is gonna be like oh yeah that's that guy's

00:57:49.660 untouchable no there's always gonna be if the bigger you get the bigger the group of people

00:57:55.160 who know you gets which means the more people hate you that's just what it is people there's

00:58:00.140 not a single successful person in any field but specifically comedy that's not doesn't have a

00:58:06.000 reddit forum about them people talking shit but that that's your pr team yeah those are the guys 0.95

00:58:11.700 who are gonna blow you up well this is it and they keep getting you know keep talking about you 0.98

00:58:17.700 i remember i was in a comedy club in london and people were coming up to me and going oh you so 0.97

00:58:23.420 you've been on rogan i'm like yeah and they were like yeah he's a yeah he sucks as a comedian doesn't 0.64

00:58:28.380 he i'm like what they're like yeah he sucks i'm like mate have a think how many netflix specials 0.92

00:58:35.760 has he got i go i have seen him rip rooms it doesn't matter how big your following is it doesn't 0.94

00:58:41.260 matter how many millions you've got in the bank you can't pay that you can't pay for that you know

00:58:46.960 people are not gonna laugh it's not fun we saw when on the balcony and watched rogan just demolishing 0.79

00:58:52.640 last night yeah the funniest shit i've actually ever seen legitimately it was hilarious yeah all 0.99

00:58:57.760 relevant all on point people and people who yeah fuck those people fuck the people those people 1.00

00:59:04.640 never you have to i don't know what the word is but you have to have like a like a breadth of thought 0.99

00:59:11.640 or i don't know if that's correct but the ability to go i want to learn i want to learn i want to get

00:59:19.180 there so i want i respect people who are ahead of me you can't not respect people who are ahead of you

00:59:25.240 because you know what it is is because it's far easier to tear someone down and make shitty

00:59:31.580 comments about them than actually look at yourself and do the work yeah for sure you know then actually 1.00

00:59:37.220 sit there write a whole bunch of new stuff go and try it out die on your cunt look like an idiot 1.00

00:59:43.820 go and kill tony bomb really fucking hard it's gonna go on netflix you know it's far easier to go 1.00

00:59:51.380 i'm just not gonna do it then actually go up there roll the dice take the risk you know what 1.00

00:59:57.220 you may look like a dick you may but at least you're living at least you're risking something 0.95

01:00:03.500 at least you're going to learn then there's the people who just bomb horribly and then they're like 0.99

01:00:09.360 yeah i killed they do that though they there are those people there was a guy from toronto that

01:00:15.860 just had one of the worst kill tony sets of all time and then afterwards he was like yeah i had

01:00:21.860 a great set on kill tony and he was like putting in his bio like performed as seen on kill tony it's

01:00:28.080 like dude you bombed and then they literally told you to quit like yeah whereas you can't operate you

01:00:34.500 can't get ahead with that mindset i mean you do need a bit of delusion i'm not gonna oh god you need it

01:00:39.280 at the start you need delusion but you don't you can't it can't be like completely illogical oh god

01:00:47.720 yeah you need but you need delusion but you also you need delusion to keep you going to keep getting

01:00:53.040 better so for instance before trigonometry blew up i was a club comic i was gigging literally every

01:00:59.500 weekend six nights a week being a club guy but then you need you need a little bit of delusion to go

01:01:06.380 i want to take it to the next level i remember i was telling people i want my podcast to be the uk

01:01:12.740 sorry the uk equivalent the uk joe rogan can't even say it that's my british part of me

01:01:22.140 is like repress it like and i was saying i wanted it to be the uk joe rogan and and people looked at

01:01:29.460 me like i was insane they were like what but that's what i wanted ambition is okay and people

01:01:36.360 or you say that as it i mean you're not even american you're canadian you the way you said

01:01:42.280 that if it was if you're american you would have been like ambition is awesome because you're canadian

01:01:47.480 you went ambition is okay it's okay to be ambitious i'm like a like a guy a guidance counselor helping

01:01:54.200 somebody become a trans it's okay to have the ambition to want to be a woman no but it is i mean 0.93

01:02:00.940 people like i said when you lose friends those are the people who are telling you it's not okay 0.99

01:02:07.140 yeah it's like why why would you want to do that why do you think you can do that like fuck off then 0.96

01:02:12.780 you just delete people yeah yeah and your best friends will like celebrate you will celebrate 1.00

01:02:18.540 your victories and they're gonna take the piss out of you hard when you when you land on your 0.99

01:02:22.780 art when you land on your ass and that's the way it should be you know yeah where are you doing shows 0.99

01:02:30.700 in the uk this year that uh or is your podcast just live anywhere yeah uh we're not doing podcasts i've 0.98

01:02:38.380 i've got a book out um it's gonna go uh it's gonna be it's going to be available for sale uh on august 18th

01:02:47.260 but it's available for on pre-sale now well it's called um classroom confidential it's all about

01:02:53.120 being a teacher and why you should never become one were you a teacher i was a teacher for 12 years

01:02:57.960 i wanted to call the book 12 years a teacher but the publisher was against it yeah am i the managing

01:03:05.880 director of uh my publishing company said and i quote under no circumstances will we be releasing

01:03:12.700 that book with that title shit yeah if you don't know 12 years of sliding yeah but i think that's 0.68

01:03:19.360 funny yeah the uh what was you taught in london yeah i taught in london i taught in east london in 0.95

01:03:27.700 south london is that like inner city yeah inner city so i taught in a primary school you know kids

01:03:33.720 whose elder brothers were in prison for murder oh uh you know they come from like you know gangs and

01:03:40.120 i i you know i've got some really like wild stories i remember one time before we had an exam

01:03:47.160 which was the end of uh year exams which were a big deal for primary schools because i taught the

01:03:52.960 last year of primary school and in the last year of primary school you that's where the school is

01:03:57.980 judged as to how well it's doing and i had a mom come in break into the classroom and try and beat up

01:04:05.020 one of the kids wow like a different kid yeah not her kid her kid had got beaten up by this kid

01:04:11.900 so we literally had to kind of drag her out while she was trying to be arrested uh i'm not sure i mean

01:04:20.800 to be fair the kid kind of deserved to get beaten so there was part of me like going just one punch

01:04:25.560 yeah exactly no the um my mom used to teach at a kind of high school like that kids one kid put

01:04:33.300 like a banana to a teacher's head and was like boom but like everybody knew that that kid like also

01:04:38.460 killed and then like two weeks later that kid went to jail for like shooting somebody with a sawed-off 0.99

01:04:42.560 shotgun in a bus crazy shit i thought canada was nice no i mean it's it's dude there's there's hoods 0.99

01:04:50.740 everywhere yeah canada has tons of weapons the only difference is that none of the like there's 0.99

01:04:56.080 way more guns in canada than probably than the uk because of america and they're all illegal yeah

01:05:02.420 mostly you can legally own a firearm in canada but you can't bring it with you anywhere it has to

01:05:08.580 be in locked up at all times you're in a registry they'll come check on you yeah um if you own a

01:05:14.520 firearm in canada and you tweet something then it becomes like the british law yeah so like if 0.82

01:05:19.520 you're like i fucking hate immigrants and you're they know you own firearms they'll like come in 0.99

01:05:24.260 they'll like swat your house yeah so but canada is dangerous a lot of somalis with with weapons and 1.00

01:05:31.300 they have huge indian car uh theft ring canada has like one of the worst car thefts right now 0.95

01:05:37.960 and home invasions yeah it's a big problem in canada home invasions car theft what are home invasions

01:05:45.820 home invasion yeah like when they break in your house wow yeah what do they call that in the uk

01:05:53.120 burglary or break and enter break and entering but burglary burglary okay breaking and entering

01:05:58.360 just means that you enter a property illegally break burglary means you then break and enter and steal

01:06:03.840 people's goods yeah whatever belongings yeah so that burglary and not as much straight up like

01:06:11.740 stabbing people on the street more which is like it's scarier to think that people are just breaking

01:06:17.180 into people's houses taking their car the toronto police told people in toronto to leave their car

01:06:23.460 keys at the front of the house and leave their doors open wow let because they're like they'll just want

01:06:27.700 their car they're gonna break in and get your car keys so just leave it at the front that was the

01:06:32.240 police chief's advice and he got in a lot of shit for that obviously wow but that's toronto is not 0.69

01:06:39.300 what it used to be it's not as safe texas feels safe or in some way i mean it's not depending where 0.96

01:06:47.480 you go but i mean austin's pretty sweet austin's a special place yeah and what joe has brought here is

01:06:55.700 special for comedians yeah and especially comedians who have a bit going on it's a place where they can
