Summary

The Debt Ceiling is a disaster. It's bad on its own terms, but it's still a disaster, and it's a disaster on many other terms, and that's what we're going to talk about in this episode.

00:00:00.000 this is the primal scream of a dying regime pray for our enemies because we're going medieval on
00:00:10.880 these people here's not got a free shot all these networks lying about the people the people have
00:00:17.480 had a belly full of it i know you don't like hearing that i know you try to do everything
00:00:21.240 in the world to stop that but you're not going to stop it it's going to happen and where do people
00:00:24.820 like that go to share the big line mega media i wish in my soul i wish that any of these people
00:00:32.640 had a conscience ask yourself what is my task and what is my purpose if that answer is to save my
00:00:40.580 country this country will be saved war room here's your host stephen k band
00:00:47.800 and joe on the debt ceiling you said they'd get there but how'd they finally do it they had no
00:00:59.680 choice they got there and you know we live in this world that's designed uh this political world that's
00:01:06.360 designed to promote this discord division hatred where our political opponents are actually our
00:01:12.700 sworn enemy and i do know that there are far too many people who want to want to set aside
00:01:19.240 democratic elections we saw it happen on january the 6th there there is much to to mourn about the
00:01:26.000 direction that some have decided to take this country in but but you look willie and and you see
00:01:32.200 that you actually have in joe biden and here kevin mccarthy but you have a democratic president and
00:01:41.100 republican senate and now uh house that have worked together in pretty historic ways over the past
00:01:47.900 year and a half getting bipartisan legislation uh and let's look at kevin mccarthy really quickly here
00:01:54.620 this is kevin mccarthy who many many said for quite some time for good reason were concerned that he
00:02:00.080 was going to go sideways on supporting freedom fighters in ukraine uh we heard him shut down uh that
00:02:06.480 russian uh reporter said get out of their country stop killing their children stop committing war
00:02:12.640 crimes and here you know the nation's economy was on the line and you know he he behaved responsibly
00:02:20.520 biden behaved responsibly uh they were grown-ups and so again we should worry uh about things that we
00:02:29.460 should worry about but there are days we should wait i just want to make sure we i just want to make
00:02:33.940 sure we had it on the record it's tuesday 30 may in the year of our lord 2023 you're in the war room
00:02:38.260 um needless to say uh we have to man the ramparts today because it's going to be a big fight for the
00:02:43.760 next 48 to 72 hours honored to have congressman dan bishop join us the first of many we're going to
00:02:49.880 roll out some of the big guns in this you heard right there uh about the adults in the room i mean
00:02:56.140 if this bill was at any way uh looking to save our economy and particularly save not just future
00:03:04.580 generations but to make sure we're not japan and lost decades of low and no growth they they would
00:03:10.600 be they would be on fire today about what barbarians we are all you're hearing from the mainstream media
00:03:16.160 is kevin mccarthy is an adult kevin mccarthy is a leader kevin mccarthy is responsible what does that
00:03:23.000 signal to you congressman barely concealed glee even biden said it on the clip yesterday he didn't
00:03:29.660 want to gloat because people wouldn't vote for it glee i think that was the word that i'd read in the
00:03:34.020 headline he used gloat this is this is a disaster it is a it is an entire capitulation of the dynamic
00:03:44.120 created in january that republicans could be unified around a core set of real ideas that we were going
00:03:55.300 to go to the mat to accomplish kevin mccarthy is emasculating himself and the republican majority
00:04:02.580 and the and so this is the bill's bad on its own terms and that's worth knowing yes we'll go through
00:04:08.760 that in a second but it but the significance is that it is blowing up it is reverting to norm in
00:04:14.940 terms of the way washington works and abandoning the possibility of something with a different
00:04:21.780 dynamic through this congress you've heard you've got newt gingrich you've got people out there this
00:04:25.760 is transformational i mean the here's what i think gets this audience most upset is that we had this a
00:04:31.600 big working class audience middle class audience we have a lot of people like my grandfather and father
00:04:36.580 that you know just went to high school or maybe even grade school but are plenty smart they read we
00:04:42.000 you know we got them reading the ft and the economist they hate being talked down to and they hate being
00:04:46.640 talked to like they're idiots walk us through this this bill is so brazen particularly we weren't happy
00:04:52.740 with the first thing that was passed right but we've said we'll take it principally because we get
00:04:58.320 something but particularly it's just one year and it's capped it's 1.5 trillion it's one year and we can
00:05:05.280 then have the current the bigger debate later as people see how they mismanage this correct walk
00:05:10.400 us through your your sense of this bill itself the reality of it not the happy talk that they're
00:05:14.820 spending non-stop and it's important to say at the beginning you know i would think that the the least
00:05:18.780 uh present uh virtue in washington is courage but but i think that's eclipsed by truth that is to say
00:05:27.060 what this stuff that's being you're saying that we're saying it's rarer to have truth even than
00:05:30.880 courage yeah and this is i mean so to so to have this done but then lie about it in every detail
00:05:36.580 is uh it's work is of course i started to see unbecoming that's so under i can't find the right
00:05:43.080 word but it is and can i say one other thing about your audience and about it i am always that's one
00:05:48.000 thing is i've sort of spend time up here and getting all the wrinkles and that i'll go and i'll meet
00:05:53.520 some person back home and actually it's not just one person but i mean they just see these it happens
00:06:00.920 you get this impression person by person and they've got amazing command of the details
00:06:07.200 they know it all and you do realize after what it does it's only going to take me two minutes i
00:06:12.360 think to describe it and so if someone's interested enough to watch for two minutes
00:06:15.740 or listen in fact they're going to know what i what i'm going to tell them that i guarantee you
00:06:19.760 most of your audience has already heard these things and they've already gotten it because
00:06:22.400 it's been out on twitter for a couple days we've gotten the text and yeah so the biggest thing is
00:06:27.680 whereas as you said our we extended out the debt ceiling a year put it in the middle of the
00:06:33.560 presidential election so that we in our bill and capped it 1.5 trillion or or next mark next may
00:06:40.340 whatever comes first so they go two years and they have no limit on it no cap people think they're
00:06:45.960 sort of thinking well probably four trillion could be much more could be more much more they got these
00:06:49.640 inflation reduction act tax credits for green new deal energy stuff that goldman said no the the
00:06:57.700 estimate of 297 or 279 billion uh the cost of that is wrong it's going to be more than 1.2 trillion
00:07:05.000 all that's going to be rolling the permitting improvements which is the only thing in this bill
00:07:10.620 you could i think well you could argue is a is a is a get will actually be available to make all of
00:07:15.880 that happen faster now that's as good as it gets right so they kevin comes out and says well we've we've
00:07:22.620 uh nixed the irs agent expansion for fiscal year 23 that's just not true it's not just a misleading
00:07:31.060 that's false it's it's factually false which they the bill takes one point he said 1.9 billion that's
00:07:38.200 wrong it's 1.4 billion off of the 80 billion 80 billion uh appropriation has a 10-year life that we
00:07:46.380 that they gave the irs in a lump the democrats did so he took a billion four off leaving 78 point
00:07:51.960 that's the 80 yeah take 78.6 billion dollars available and it's not like the language in the
00:07:58.040 bill doesn't do anything to hold them off staffing it just takes a billion yes uh four off they can
00:08:04.860 they can mass up immediately and spend all they want to it's and and then he goes so he does that
00:08:10.880 and then tries to tell the conference and the american public that he's that we've nixed the the increase
00:08:17.440 at least for one year we can fight again next year he said well that's false um let's see what's next
00:08:24.220 you got the other thing they're really proud of is what they call pago uh the pago uh administrative
00:08:30.540 rule a total lie total lie when you read the footnote and and again what what the analogy
00:08:35.260 tell people what it is how important yeah yeah the analogy it moves from is in our bill we wanted to
00:08:39.580 get the reins act that's that's the thing that says congress would have to approve all major
00:08:43.220 regulations and a lot of people say well that's a shiny object can't get it you know but it's got
00:08:47.060 merit interesting it could fundamentally change how regulatory burdens are borne by the economy
00:08:52.000 the administrative state right but instead they say well this is a handy substitute pago
00:08:55.860 uh the in the administration they've got they would they had a rule in your in the trump
00:09:00.100 administration and it was enforced by the omb that said the agency wants to bring out a you know
00:09:05.820 additional costs in a form of regulation they got to take some take it back in some other cancellation
00:09:10.680 of a rule well in this the language of this provision says it is it can be waived by the biden
00:09:18.580 administration uh and they say for program uh effectiveness and things which is anything
00:09:23.940 and it actually goes beyond that and says and no such determination can be challenged in court yes
00:09:29.500 so it's a ball face line it is a i mean that that's you could say theoretically look it uh leadership
00:09:37.140 is going around and point out uh rules that have been come out in the last couple years and a trillion
00:09:42.160 or whatever that have cost it's been incurred that way that they say this is all going to be changed
00:09:46.440 it's it's it's you know huge change it's a lie also what about the caps years after it's a two-year
00:09:54.320 deal but they say oh no you got to include the one percent budget caps because cbo included as one of
00:10:00.160 their theoretical no it's a two-year deal scored this at 2.1 trillion dollar reduction in the baseline
00:10:06.120 over the you know over over six years because there are two years of caps and let me come back to that
00:10:12.480 a minute and four years of targets yes well the caps are of the kind that were put in in 2011
00:10:19.160 and that were breached in every single fiscal year except the first yes over 2013 to 2021
00:10:27.120 those kinds of caps are in for two years so think about whether you think that'll play out right and
00:10:32.520 then the other ones for four years are targets that don't even have the the force of the caps
00:10:38.160 and and they tell and they and then they go get that scored by cbo and the process is so screwed
00:10:43.960 up here that cbo says oh that's going to save 2.1 trillion or yeah that's what they're saying 2.1
00:10:48.780 trillion dollars yeah so they lie that's the and that's the look that's to me as an observer i've
00:10:55.040 only been up here since 2019 uh so what you guys did what donald trump's emergence and everything but
00:11:00.980 to me that's what donald trump is about is people are fed up with the lies and the cosmetics yes
00:11:07.800 and they've been seeing it you know we're going to repeal obamacare however many times in the house
00:11:12.440 votes and then when the time comes you won't do it that's what this is about we tried to re-inject
00:11:17.800 in terms of the speakers contest a dynamic where we said okay the house people house can get together
00:11:23.080 we'll hold kevin mccarthy to account i know when i say that boy i'm not unaware that your listeners
00:11:29.800 are saying boy he sounds naive just in that statement but if you you know you got to take the situation
00:11:35.060 if you find it figure out what the dynamic approach is to make something better so you take kevin
00:11:39.540 mccarthy you'll wet him to specific very precise obligations and he wants to be speaker more than
00:11:45.960 he wants life itself he will find a way to get the thing done and rhetorically he did a pretty good job
00:11:51.520 over two or three you know three four months and we put this actually put a freedom caucus bill on the
00:11:57.280 floor and passed it with 218 votes they said we couldn't do that and then he went in and just
00:12:00.940 just completely gave it all after after selling saying i'm taking a hard line here and then gave
00:12:07.420 it away the the key is the two years this deal as much as we hated the first you know the freedom
00:12:13.040 caucus and you guys realize you wanted much deeper cuts and more meaningful cuts to save basically save
00:12:18.580 the country's economy but people are prepared to live with it as a compromise but not one step not one
00:12:24.380 step back uh and the key was it's 1.5 trillion we're giving you a debt relief 1.5 trillion and or
00:12:31.760 one year from today whatever comes first and that would probably be back here in october or november
00:12:36.660 having another argument saying you we gave you the debt ceiling leave you saw what happened you're
00:12:41.640 going to blow through it now the first thing they gave away and this is the old washington inside game
00:12:46.500 was the two years take the cap off because they know if you have a cap on this thing we're going to be
00:12:51.000 back here and then take it make it two years kick it right after the election take it we we won't
00:12:56.560 have a national conversation during the 2024 and quite frankly it takes trump's i think biggest
00:13:02.400 weapon cnn said this morning they had a story it takes his biggest weapon uh out of there how uh one
00:13:07.940 other thing they talk about even the cuts they talk about are ephemeral yeah so that's and even that's
00:13:12.640 right give me a minute on that before we go to break that's ephemeral mccarthy likes to say
00:13:15.700 it was first time we've cut spending might cut 12 billion dollars somebody said at the outside you
00:13:20.860 could see it could be 20 billion dollars it is it is laughable it's laughable but even that is
00:13:26.400 probably not correct because there's some pre pre uh you're saying even the 12 to 20 billion which
00:13:32.380 is the only hard number we can come up with you're saying that may not be correct correct tell me why
00:13:36.120 you got there because you got these specific appropriations that go the other direction the
00:13:39.800 latest side for the pact act that's the for for the soldier veterans that was they say it's going to be
00:13:44.740 spent anyway so it probably doesn't make any difference but and then there's 22 trillion 22 billion of the
00:13:50.380 covid money that hadn't been spent they don't actually say rescind that and just keep it they
00:13:54.760 set it aside in these two funds at commerce and it can be redeployed redeployed what um and people
00:14:02.000 also we're getting to this minute the one thing you hear a lot of these a lot of quote-unquote
00:14:05.740 conservatives trying to push oh we'll get another by the app the appropriations process they're putting
00:14:09.240 way too much pressure on appropriation it's not going to happen that's another we'll get we got
00:14:13.660 congressman bishop here we're gonna take a short commercial break we're gonna be back also today the
00:14:18.400 rules fight we have many people you would not think be coming forward today are hard nose uh
00:14:23.580 nancy mason we can get her uh twitter her she had one of the best tweet uh tweet uh streams out there
00:14:29.360 threads yes out there explaining this we're gonna get to all of it we got uh congressman dan bishop
00:14:34.140 we're on matt rosendale we got russ vote we're gonna be into this deep i think we're gonna get wesley
00:14:39.260 hunt tonight uh we've this is we're gonna be packed for the next two days rules committee
00:14:43.780 this afternoon at three for inside baseball you're going to get it next here in the world be back
00:14:49.220 in a moment we will fight till they're all gone we rejoice when there's no more let's take down the
00:14:56.840 ccb president trump recently issued a warning from his home at mar-a-lago and i want to quote this
00:15:05.960 our currency is crashing and will soon no longer be the world standard which will be the greatest defeat
00:15:12.280 frankly in 200 years end quote he did that in the interview that i had with him a couple weeks
00:15:17.900 ago at his home now there are three reasons the central banks are dumping the u.s dollar
00:15:24.960 inflation deficit spending in our insurmountable national debt the fact is there's one asset that
00:15:33.960 has withstood famine wars and political and economic upheaval dating back to biblical times that would be

00:17:01.520 and start the process do it today take action here's your host stephen k bannon
00:17:07.100 it comes as house conservatives are criticizing the bill calling it quote the fiscal irresponsibility act
00:17:19.520 and not a win for republicans on the senate side republicans lindsey graham and mike lee have
00:17:25.780 vowed to impede the bill's passage over their own concerns and texas senator ted cruz called the
00:17:32.740 legislation a quote blank check for democrats however the chair of the main street republicans caucus
00:17:39.000 congressman dusty johnson of south dakota says he believes the bill will pass in the end
00:17:44.960 given the enormity of the economic projected calamity you feel confident today that this
00:17:52.480 will get to president biden's desk i am absolutely confident i've talked to dozens of members
00:17:57.580 the strongest argument against this thing is that it isn't perfect i don't know game welcome to
00:18:03.420 humanity right in any negotiation nobody gets everything they want we cannot let perfect be
00:18:08.580 the enemy of the good and i guarantee you the majority of the house is gonna is gonna agree
00:18:12.780 jonathan omir i've seen you've got mail so many times that when she's alive norah efron even made
00:18:21.360 fun of me for watching it so much and always tearing up at the end when tom hanks comes around with the
00:18:27.000 dog i mean come on i'm sorry you got to tear up but they even did that on total assop i've seen this
00:18:32.880 movie before i just it this is the consequences of not got a congressman the and by the way they're all
00:18:41.820 it's all the fear it was so catastrophic they had to move it away from one june we told you it was a
00:18:47.380 lie the sun is going to rise up on the second of june we told you a lie and they kicked it so biden
00:18:53.080 could have a free weekend in uh under adult supervision up in delaware um congressman the dusty johnson's of
00:19:00.140 the world and for by the way the number is 202-225-3121 that's the house make sure you you're
00:19:08.660 bombing in calls uh today this thing is still in the uh there's no guarantees and it looks like he's
00:19:14.740 going to need a hundred uh democratic votes we'll get to that in a second but the dusty johnson's of
00:19:19.380 the world and quite frankly even the jim jordan jim jordan we have a lot of fans of jim jordan here
00:19:24.200 comes out well it looks like it cuts spending and you know this year is going to be better than last year
00:19:28.540 how dumb and i don't understand how people in south dakota have a guy like dusty johnson that is
00:19:34.100 literally mr establishment how do these people think they can sell this to folks that get into
00:19:40.060 the details that's a great question i think they believe and there's maybe some justification what
00:19:47.280 we know with the people we're talking about i encounter out there that know the people that are
00:19:50.620 in your audience they're a huge number but they probably aren't a majority and so they're they
00:19:58.900 maybe they think you can sell the rest of the people are asleep the rest of people just not yeah and i
00:20:03.220 and i don't blame them do you really blame them i mean it's because this is exhausting to to but
00:20:08.100 you're fighting i don't i blame them because we're fighting for our country exactly yes it is a full time
00:20:12.660 and i know people our activist audience they've given up golf they've given up tennis they've given up so
00:20:17.940 much of their hobbies in their personal life to do this because they see what's at stake they see
00:20:22.380 there's a stake they say is there any way that the u.s economy can by the way this whole phony thing
00:20:28.940 you see she had 120 billion dollars a couple of weeks ago they've mismanaged this on purpose to try
00:20:34.820 to create a phony crisis that would make us respond to it there's plenty of cash coming in i think after
00:20:40.320 the 15th or later part of the month we're talking about a bridge we're literally talking about a bridge
00:20:44.360 loan for and and not even and no default no default on a security no default on an interest payment
00:20:49.980 nothing on medicare nothing on social security you may have some government you may have raytheon get
00:20:54.780 a contract uh paid a week late you that's right that's exactly right first we get and that's what
00:21:00.820 they get you know the panic in fact joe scarborough is the one to use the word catastrophizing
00:21:06.160 uh the thing it's just the date on which there may be some insufficiency that would grow over time
00:21:11.360 but you as you say you could do it bridge that you could say uh i mean andy biggs would say
00:21:17.580 well actually pull back covet money and something else and you could some of the money you just
00:21:22.760 talked about right there raking the 20 carry it out two weeks carry it out a month until we can get
00:21:27.180 this we send the covet very quickly overnight you get 20 or 40 billion dollars you get plenty of it's
00:21:33.620 a bridge it's basically bridge money to get you but if they say hell no you could give them a clean
00:21:38.980 one for two for a month i wouldn't want to do that understand me but you could why would you
00:21:44.760 let her sell the 700 billion in government security she wants to she says i'm waiting i've got 700
00:21:50.560 billion dollars of t-bills i can sell in a week you're saying even lifted besides besides taking a
00:21:56.060 terrible deal that locks the nation into a death spiral which which this will you give up you give
00:22:01.700 them two weeks yeah anything would be better than what we're what we're doing can you repeat that a
00:22:06.740 clean debt ceiling for a trillion five would be far better than what we're agreeing to because at
00:22:13.300 least it would put the issue before the american people through the presidential election as it is
00:22:18.200 that's going to be taken away and we get nothing if you if you could take the view that kevin mccarthy
00:22:25.180 tries to articulate and say well we're bending the car curve down and spending that's this the bend
00:22:30.540 is coming post-covid it doesn't even look even though as you say your people what your point is
00:22:37.660 the government's grown 40 percent so we're locking it in you're locking it in permanently right that was
00:22:44.320 the argument behind our bill in addition to 1.5 trillion being coming up in the middle of the
00:22:48.660 presidential election is there was at least an argument russ vote can make it better than i do
00:22:52.740 about why it is the first step in a in a path yes and this can never be this the only way he says is
00:22:59.280 well it's the first time government's going to spend less first no that's not true it's not going
00:23:03.320 to spend less number one but number two it is not the first step on any kind of a logically or
00:23:08.480 rationally articulated path and um back to back to sanity and and in fact it but it legitimates
00:23:17.480 the second big growth beyond the new deal era in terms of permanence of massive spending big
00:23:25.020 okay come on 202-225-3121 by the way you you have cory mills you have wesley hunt we're gonna get all
00:23:31.940 these folks on the show coming at us hard nose uh anna polina luna hard no nancy mace put out one of
00:23:37.720 the most um detailed uh twitter threads and we ought to make sure we get that up and grace and moe to be
00:23:44.120 pushing that out to everybody people can say we're trying to get her on the show you're having many
00:23:48.080 people that you wouldn't think uh people in the mccarthy camp you wouldn't think would be coming
00:23:52.360 ford there are they are because this thing is indefensible at noon congressman bishop in the
00:23:59.380 house freedom caucus going to be doing a live press conference that's correct at at the capitol in the
00:24:04.080 sticks outside yeah weather permitting i think it's going to i think it'll hold off until then uh we
00:24:08.980 are going to stream that grace and moe are going to stream that on getter on war room and my personal
00:24:13.700 getter live so we'll have a huge audience for that what's going to happen at that press conference
00:24:17.600 okay i think we're hoping to expand the the uh the americans are aware of this you know my hope
00:24:24.480 or well i wouldn't say as hope because that indicates there's some basis for it i think the
00:24:29.740 only possibility that i see right now to turn this thing around is sort of a going viral of these
00:24:36.580 members that you talked about that maybe unexpectedly are saying hell no and explaining what this thing
00:24:42.420 actually does that might and the fact that it's going to be a defining vote for every republican
00:24:48.380 it will you will live you'll live with this for the rest of your career yes if you do this yes and
00:24:53.620 that that's got it that point of this congress this will be the defining vote and one that will
00:24:58.280 resonate down for years because you're kicking this down to 2025 what president trump and the team
00:25:03.540 got to realize that not only are they taking the biggest weapon he will have the single biggest weapon
00:25:07.140 a national conversation on debt on the debt ceiling on spending on all how bad biden's economy is
00:25:13.220 as importantly when he takes office in january 2020 the economy you're going to have 36 or 37
00:25:19.540 trillion dollars in debt you're going to have interest payments over a trillion dollars you're
00:25:24.040 going to be handcuffed we're going to have one percent growth you're going to be absolutely handcuffed
00:25:28.460 on your ability to you're not going to be able to cut taxes because they're going to drive deficit
00:25:31.860 more interest rates going to go sky high it is the republicans that vote for this have to understand
00:25:37.760 they are setting they are permanently putting in place the massive expansion that took place because
00:25:42.960 of the ccp virus and you're saying the nation on a path to a death spiral financially and economically
00:25:49.500 and it gets worse because you are surrendering the dynamic that you would say we created in january
00:25:55.460 with the speakers contest and because people are kind of on the other side going we don't know
00:25:59.080 what this republican majority in the house will do that that unpredictability is almost trump-esque
00:26:03.840 in a way that that might actually cause something new to happen and and so as i said because now
00:26:11.240 they're just they're they're reverting to norm which is the establishment which is which is they've
00:26:15.840 gone this time already controls everything and they and here you got to vote for this or or you're
00:26:20.780 going to lose the majority and and we're going to everybody knows even as you vote for it you're
00:26:24.640 going to lose the majority anyway we're going to ask you to stay through the next segment but hang
00:26:28.160 for a second two things happen today house freedom firstly got war room everybody's going
00:26:32.340 to be calling and given your what for of tell people what you think about this the truth of
00:26:37.500 what this is and don't let them spin you house freedom caucus press conference at noon at the
00:26:42.580 capitol we'll stream it live on on getter uh then you've got at three o'clock the rules meeting now
00:26:49.260 one of the things we fought for so hard because everybody say you take the policy i'll take the
00:26:54.360 rules of procedure i'll win every time the first time in history we got three hardcore conservatives
00:27:01.220 libertarians on the rules committee tell us what you your what what is your remember how do you
00:27:06.460 remember that deal right because aren't they trying to rewrite the deal right now uh well there's a
00:27:11.460 there's a fine point there about how many republicans have to vote for something for it to go to
00:27:16.360 the floor whether it's unanimous or whether it's seven of the nine and uh at the deal actually is
00:27:25.220 it had to be unanimous but i but chip rory remembers is that right that's right chip rory led the
00:27:30.500 negotiation and i was there the whole time i remember the conversation you were that you were in the
00:27:34.020 negotiation yeah yeah because it was essentially seated i mean that was offered by the no we've always
00:27:38.900 just republicans had to be unanimous oh well that that actually would be make sense but uh in terms of
00:27:45.600 the memoranda that exists i think it got noted both ways it is there's a confusion in there in the
00:27:51.160 but everybody knows what it doesn't really matter what's on that because this is power policy that's
00:27:55.400 right that's right because they'll do they'll do if they want to but but the the real trouble there is
00:28:00.240 uh uh chip rory and ralph norman uh the freedom caucus designees that got put there are ready to resist
00:28:09.160 the rule uh thomas massey has a different view do we know which way his vote is right now
00:28:15.360 i think he's uh i think he's a yes you think he's a yes yeah for the bill what do you think
00:28:20.260 he's pretty idiosyncratic we're gonna go to break here what's it take to get brother massey to change
00:28:24.740 his mind he's a he's a hard guy to get to change he's a hard guy we got to work on that can the bill
00:28:30.960 can the rule be changed can the bill be changed if not thwarted can it be changed in rules uh could
00:28:36.740 could theoretically be we could put amendments on the floor that make very hard for republicans to vote
00:28:40.740 you know where all that goes exactly is not i'm not clear i'd love to see an instant like uh the gang
00:28:45.740 of eight immigration bill where the american people said don't do this okay that's where we got to get
00:28:49.780 a tidal wave here tsunami short commercial break congressman dan bishop from north carolina
00:28:55.100 the tar hill state joins us after a short break dave bratt uh barris rust vote all next

00:30:39.260 okay welcome back uh we got the congressman burst i'm gonna bring in dave bratt in a second uh look
00:30:47.080 this is all about the economy the direction of this country and i'm telling you we're not only locking in
00:30:51.920 the biggest government expansion since fdr and bigger than the great society bigger as big as
00:30:57.980 fdr in the 1930s permanently this is going to lead to a death spiral we're going to have two decades
00:31:04.180 like japan had in the 90s and japan hasn't gotten out of it one percent growth always coming back for
00:31:09.660 more stimulus everybody under 40 everybody under 40 years old i don't care if you're a progressive
00:31:15.180 democrat if you allow people to vote for this bill you're done financially there'll be a couple of
00:31:20.060 superstars that break out but overall the population you think you got a tough time buying a house now
00:31:24.900 you think you got a tough time serving some mortgage now you think you got a tough time
00:31:27.940 servicing 19 trillion dollars of consumer debt you ain't seen nothing yet i'm gonna get bratt in here
00:31:32.640 in a second make sure you go to birchgold.com the end of the dollar empire the free series that we
00:31:38.020 have the last is the debt trap make sure you get it because you're in the thick of things now in this
00:31:42.560 fight and remember this fight is going to go on this fight is going to continue because we're not
00:31:46.680 going to let them steal our country let's bring it so and make sure you'll find out now by this bill
00:31:52.660 do you understand why the bricks why that why the uh countries in the south that control all the
00:31:57.100 resources brazil russia india china south africa all the sub-saharan african countries uh latin america
00:32:03.400 why are their central banks buying gold at all-time records uh just go to birchgold and check it out
00:32:09.620 talk to philip patrick and the team you'll understand why they're buying it at uh at all-time records it makes
00:32:14.580 total sense that's why they're doing it and back up their resources they bratt economically professor
00:32:20.120 bratt uh to walk me through the economics of this bill not the politics i want to know what what what
00:32:25.140 would this bill condemn the american people to sir yeah well like dan just got done saying uh back in
00:32:32.860 2019 uh or prior we had about a five trillion dollar economy then with covid we locked into 7.5 trillion
00:32:42.200 7.5 trillion and 22 we had 6.5 trillion so this budget is locking in a permanent crisis economy a permanent
00:32:52.260 covid economy and of course that four trillion is going to be debt financed by the federal reserve bank
00:32:59.840 who accommodates everything the congress does and so we just locked in another fake bull market for a while
00:33:07.380 we're not going to see the real carcass right the real economy we always talk about is going to be
00:33:12.660 absent because we just juiced the economy by an additional four trillion dollars over two years
00:33:19.380 and that's just what we see so far hang on hang on hang on i want to make sure people got the
00:33:24.460 nomenclature right the economy is 18 to 20 so it's not the economy what you're locking in is federal
00:33:29.400 spending at levels unheard of and you can't sell enough bonds to the chinese the japanese and the
00:33:35.840 insurance companies you can't they refuse to raise you can't raise there's not enough taxes you can
00:33:40.100 raise but hey i'm all for if you want to raise it on the top one percent because they're all progressive
00:33:44.880 democrats baby let's go for it mccarthy have to sign that and dare schumer to pass and dare buy and
00:33:50.140 they won't do it and say it's all their class all their guys exactly okay but that's not going to
00:33:54.800 happen so economic growth with the tax rates you have and at 1.1 percent which is where we are now
00:34:01.340 1.5 percent you're you're going to have a gap and what you're saying is since covid these massive
00:34:06.860 gaps you have and now we see it's trading and a half dollars it'll be two on since there's no cap
00:34:12.820 on this for the two years this could be four the word out is four i actually been saying it's five
00:34:18.700 it may be six three or more and here it is what it is because there's no cap to this you've basically
00:34:23.960 given them a credit card that's a free credit card with literally no cuts 20 billion the max real cut
00:34:30.240 we've got is 12 billion to 20 billion maybe right maybe trillions always always people not your
00:34:35.920 audience but a lot of people in danger of not knowing what a trillion is right that's when
00:34:39.000 somebody said don't ever talk about a trillion unless you mention to people that it's an eight
00:34:42.080 thousand dollars for every man woman and child in the united states so if you take the 31 four that
00:34:48.180 we've already got in debt that's 250 grand for every person and then you add another uh four that's
00:34:56.060 another uh 32 uh thousand to each person and you can say okay well that's an interesting measure but
00:35:02.440 i'm not responsible for that i'm not obligate certainly the kids aren't going to pay that no
00:35:07.100 it is going to affect your life as you summarize the effect it has slow growth economy slow growth
00:35:13.320 economy and the interest payments remember the interest payments in this deal are going to go over
00:35:17.600 so you're going to have a defense budget at a trillion you get medicare at a trillion you get social
00:35:21.920 security over a trillion you're going to have medicaid closer train you're going to interest
00:35:25.500 payments for the trillion you're going to they're going to you're going they're going to have to
00:35:28.680 keep increasing the death ceiling for the simple reason all discretionary is going to go to zero and
00:35:33.740 all of us old guys aren't going to pay off our two 282 yes so it means the kids actually are the
00:35:38.340 one under 40 if you're under 40 if you back this bill you're signing your your economic you're signing
00:35:43.600 your economic financial death warrant brad uh how is there any way if this thing gets passed is there
00:35:51.520 any way out of this given the fact that the next two years are going to add four to five trillion
00:35:55.360 dollars onto the onto the balance sheet of the of the country and the federal reserve is just going
00:36:00.360 to print money to pay for it sir uh no no way out uh this this is uh in addition to the debt right
00:36:08.580 we're going to have less productivity because all the money goes to the government which crowds out
00:36:13.000 the private sector this really juices up inflation right no one's mentioned that yet that keeps going
00:36:19.280 and a bigger government sector and i'll just i'll just put up one chart because i think you're going
00:36:23.240 to want to use this uh from zero hedge if denver has that first chart if you just look at the top chart
00:36:29.500 the light blue line is uh you know just the cbo baseline the black dotted line is the uh white house uh
00:36:37.940 you know executive budget the dark red line is the budget that was just passed it is the white house
00:36:44.400 budget it it it cuts 50 billion out of 50 trillion in debt over the 10-year window that's one one
00:36:53.060 thousand one one thousand of what you need to do right picture you're in a weight room with a thousand
00:36:58.700 pounds you just picked up a one pound barbell dumbbell emphasis on don't hang on i'm okay because
00:37:07.320 i'm gonna lose congressman bishop i'm gonna keep you that is when you see people on fox these other
00:37:13.860 places trying to sell this that shows you what an idiot they think you are i want you to be mad in
00:37:19.180 this audience if nothing more than they think you're morons that they can they can shovel this
00:37:24.660 to same people attacked us in january fox news up and down uh uh newt gingrich god bless him i mean
00:37:31.380 he just fused the talking points that leadership sends over god bless him because he's a smart guy
00:37:35.900 uh he uh you know it's just uh but but that's okay i'm convinced the american people know that
00:37:42.740 people know and knowledge is a powerful thing and so i believe there's a path we just got to
00:37:48.020 discover it and get creative enough to to uh keep moving forward the first path is as many no votes
00:37:55.300 as possible tomorrow by the way we now know from from punch bowl uh from jake sherman's telling us the
00:38:00.560 voting is going to start late in the afternoon uh and it will go all the way through looks like
00:38:05.580 8 30 or midnight i'm probably a long one um intense make them pass it with democrat votes
00:38:10.660 make them do that it and so you might say well that sounds kind of like it doesn't really help
00:38:15.960 no every republican you can pull off of that gives life to the promise or the possibility that we can
00:38:23.460 reinstitute somehow the dynamic we started with if we take mccarthy out whatever the path is
00:38:28.500 but those republicans have to avoid being destroyed themselves by voting for this if they do they're
00:38:34.620 gone and if we don't and if we leave a majority of republicans in support of this that they're going
00:38:40.700 to be laughing all the way to your your your position is that even people that you admire and like that
00:38:46.180 are conservatives if they vote for this that's crossing a red line and they should be primary they
00:38:50.900 shouldn't be in this city i 100 believe that give me tell me about that i i never see i honestly that's
00:38:56.840 been a dynamic that i haven't understood in the five four years i've been here four and a half years
00:39:00.620 these people who come from deep red districts they vote like crap year in and year out and nobody ever
00:39:07.140 does anything to them in my own state it happens in fact i'm the i'm the lunatic i guess except
00:39:13.960 everybody i don't know let's so so let me debate you i want to you and they'll never go head to head
00:39:19.820 with you in a fair uh forum because they know that there's nothing to it it doesn't make any
00:39:25.100 damn sense i'm so fed up with that but still you got to get past being fed up you got to get past
00:39:31.120 the defeats you got to figure out north carolina central because it's not just a swing state it's
00:39:35.900 a state that they're putting a ton of money into turn blue and to turn radical um but the folks in
00:39:41.020 north carolina are kind of that common sense nice people but common sense but they understand when
00:39:46.640 they're being sold a bill of goods where do you think people not just in your district but throughout
00:39:49.940 the state where where would they be on this i think they'll they'll they'll look you don't have
00:39:55.700 to tell anything more than they just open the door to four trillion dollars more debt and it's like
00:39:59.320 you said our first proposal with a lot of your viewers would say well one and a half trillion that's
00:40:03.580 unacceptable but you got to hear the rest and it's got to be real but when you're talking about
00:40:07.740 doing four trillion for some you know minor rounding error that's it's fifty billion dollars fifty
00:40:13.900 billion dollars are real cuts over 10 years fifty billion at best they won't materialize you're not
00:40:20.120 even buying that no it won't the 12 billion won't materialize in the first year it won't it's such an
00:40:25.440 insult to even bring this up and spin it all i mean it's just it's so ridiculous that's why i'm so
00:40:29.140 proud of this audience now you're seeing people who are politically ambitious come forward and say no
00:40:37.800 way on this i mean and even the even when they defend it it's quite half-hearted and they want
00:40:43.060 to move that they want to change the topic oh we had to do this because the country was in a crisis
00:40:47.220 your recommendation today is every vote you get to 60 70 80 100 republican votes force mccarthy
00:40:55.760 to depend upon hakeem jeffries and by the way if the democrats weren't gloating and loving it they
00:41:01.000 would never vote for this in a million years correct oh that's that's for sure no they would they uh
00:41:05.920 they would be spewing anger and so forth they're they're they're for it this is for them this we
00:41:12.020 need 112 114 republicans to say no to this at least a majority of the conference you think he would even
00:41:19.160 go if he had a majority of the conference against us he would still go forward with this i think so
00:41:22.820 i think so you think he would take that many democratic votes uh i the thing i actually fear is
00:41:28.100 he'll have he'll have the majority of the conference which is always it's like we said these guys need to
00:41:33.200 be primary and you're saying they're coming from deep red districts this is ridiculous over and over
00:41:36.800 this happens what's you got we got about two minutes here let your your floor you take it um
00:41:41.980 look i we've we've covered it pretty well uh i i think the thing you know then a lot of guys in
00:41:47.920 this audience and others at it will say well you said you'd vacate the chair move to vacate the chair
00:41:52.500 but now that it's a very tough calculation to figure out what what you know and again sort of like
00:41:58.780 what you said about nancy mace nancy hasn't been with us on anything she occasionally pops out with
00:42:03.980 some conservative fiscal sort of stuff but we've got it moved to her if she's if she's somebody
00:42:09.600 that's kind of got a new idea for whatever reason let's see it let's let it play out
00:42:13.220 expand the influence make these people go viral talk about vacate we'll do that today but when we
00:42:18.020 talk about vacate the chair can he possibly govern with a hundred democrats that would if you vacate the
00:42:23.620 chair a hundred democrats you think he could still govern well he'll do what they want it'll be it'll
00:42:29.000 be and he'll they'll try to maintain and he's look if there's one thing he can do it's maintain the
00:42:33.340 cosmetic and keep the lies common he doesn't have any any hesitancy about that and so he'll keep that
00:42:39.200 going and he'll do exactly what they want and at the and at the core i mean there's not that much
00:42:44.040 difference they the the radicals over there uh and and the and the lindsey grayham frankly not that far
00:42:51.260 part tell us about that the establishment republic it is a unit party and you've been here long enough
00:42:55.640 to see it oh and i didn't need to come up here to see it but when i've been here i've got it in ways
00:43:00.420 they're just amazing and as i say the thing that's always astonishing is very disheartening to sit in
00:43:04.380 those rooms and and they and they have them lined up to get to the mic right in our conference closed
00:43:08.540 conference and and they'll give the line from leadership and four of them or whatever say exactly
00:43:12.600 the same thing and then they'll get it at the mics and they'll all laud it and just like they hammer
00:43:17.060 the message and it's like you're being tortured by big brother and uh you know fine it i've so i'm
00:43:22.360 accustomed to it now but they but i know that they know they're lying i know they know it and i know
00:43:27.680 they know that i know we know it right uh how do people get you on social media uh it's uh rep dan
00:43:34.660 bishop uh then go to my website uh in congress danbishop.house.gov and uh that's about it okay

00:46:40.980 where the middle class pays more 90 percent of families would get a tax hike if desantis replaced
00:46:46.560 the current system president trump cut taxes a lot lowering tax rates for everyone trump cut taxes
00:46:54.560 desantis tried to raise them ron desantis wrong on tax hikes just not ready make america great again
00:47:02.040 is responsible for the content of this advertising okay welcome back uh make sure you go to birchgold.com
00:47:09.580 the end of the dollar empire slash bannon end of the dollar empire get all three up get all three
00:47:15.880 installments you're going to need that more than ever this is going to put in additional four trillion
00:47:21.600 dollars of debt minimum i think the number could be five train maybe even six train um because the
00:47:27.520 economy's starting to slow and you're going to see lower tax revenues less cash in the treasury
00:47:32.100 you're going to make up for it somehow dave brett i want you to go back for this audience go back and
00:47:37.020 give me that first chart you got a zero hedge i want people i want you to explain to people because
00:47:41.440 this is the heart of the matter what they are selling and remember in the audience we got to fight
00:47:47.800 hard no time to be quitting and no time to be sucking thumb and oh my god oh this is so terrible what's
00:47:52.820 happening here you think what do you think that happened in the revolution what do you think
00:47:56.380 happened in world war ii you think every day was a sunny day uh no they were not okay if you want
00:48:01.560 to honor the uh the individuals we honored over this weekend okay the way you do it is by manning up
00:48:10.420 right now okay i don't want to hear any i don't hear any whining okay and i realize oh you gotta do
00:48:14.740 this hey no whining no tears in the war room brad go back to that first uh go back to that chart
00:48:20.600 and explain exactly what it is yeah so uh in summary what it is is locking two trillion additional
00:48:29.800 dollars into our budget per year which is just another debt-driven sugar high that's the bottom
00:48:37.660 line now where do you see it on this thing uh on the on the top left graph on the left you see all
00:48:42.820 those numbers starting at uh 1600 that's 1.6 trillion dollars that's one fourth of the budget
00:48:50.500 the budget's 6.4 trillion so this is just the discretionary part uh that is divided into two
00:48:57.340 roughly between defense and non-defense uh so what you see is cbo baseline uh which is just gobbledygook
00:49:04.060 intended to make politicians look good the black dotted line is the white house proposal uh whatever
00:49:10.320 that was because they never had one right they never showed us their receipts uh but when you go
00:49:15.480 to negotiate uh basically the white house position means the status quo just keeping exactly what we
00:49:21.960 have in place a 6.5 trillion dollar budget and the red line is the budget we just passed that is well
00:49:30.000 we didn't pass it yet but that that is the debt ceiling negotiation between mccarthy and the white house
00:49:35.600 so it looks like he just assumed the white house position and then the green line uh is the uh
00:49:42.720 conservative house position it's not that conservative it trims only 4 trillion off of the 50 trillion uh
00:49:49.400 debt window over 10 years so that green line looks like it's a great improvement uh but it's nowhere near
00:49:56.360 russ vote's original position uh which is way below that which carved 17 trillion off of the 50 trillion
00:50:04.480 uh debt window over 10 years and that is the position we should have been negotiating from
00:50:10.260 either you negotiate from votes position so you get a real win or you tell everyone in the congress that
00:50:17.040 green line uh you lock in ahead of time uh and sign your name in a blood oath six months ahead of time so
00:50:24.020 we don't run into this uh total catastrophe that we just run in and all these views are just my own
00:50:29.420 uh and zero hedge uh who just does great charts yeah understand your own personal opinion just hang
00:50:35.900 on for a second let's get barris in here for a second barris this is all about maga all about
00:50:40.300 america first these are the these are the principles and the policies we stand by and that's where we're in
00:50:45.080 this this running gunfight right now with the uh republican establishment uh walk me through you've got
00:50:51.120 some math you want to show to people about where we are right now you know steve i should preface this
00:50:57.980 uh if you're going to put the crosstabs of the chart um but i should preface this with this being a
00:51:02.620 district it's texas's 12th fort worth area it's very educated for a republican area right so if there
00:51:10.040 are going to be more traditional republicans here booming right and there's going to be this like
00:51:14.940 anti-maga revolt you would see it in this district and we pulled the primary first we also asked people
00:51:20.720 this was for uh ken paxton's uh friend in texas 12 john o'shea um so we pulled and we asked a little
00:51:27.380 too early for head to head but where are you on with the primary those are the results right there
00:51:31.820 and trump is above 50 even in this district and then also we asked people what they identified as
00:51:38.180 texas is open so there are independents there are going to be some democrats but if you are a republican
00:51:43.920 self-identified we ask people do you identify more with america first republicanism or traditional
00:51:51.100 republicanism this district even here steve it's a majority america first and one of the big
00:51:58.560 one of the big findings is that yeah a majority of white republican voters are america first but
00:52:04.880 the hispanics which will make up at least seven percent of the primary vote in this district this year
00:52:09.940 83 percent we spoke to 40 of them 83 percent of them said they're america first there is no support
00:52:17.680 for traditional republicanism among non-white republican leaning voters so the old wing of
00:52:24.740 the party has no appeal to non-white growing sectors of the population which republicans are going to
00:52:31.100 need as the years go on to to earn their support in order to have a prayer by the way this is
00:52:36.360 illuminating because this tells you why republicans just did not perform in texas the way that we saw
00:52:42.380 trump perform in some areas around texas zapata county star county right all down in south texas
00:52:49.120 this is the fort worth area but i'm willing to bet it really doesn't matter everywhere we ask this
00:52:54.660 question hispanics are overwhelmingly america first and by the way uh looking at education in the primary
00:53:01.900 uh polling we're polling this district other districts on this debt ceiling it is not popular
00:53:07.400 with republicans this deal they don't like it uh and moving forward when you're looking at those
00:53:12.500 education demographics they are almost uh completely decided so the only way we're going to see the
00:53:19.400 numbers move with the nomination is if they undecide somehow steve i don't think that's likely and uh if
00:53:25.900 the four-year college grads which are still backing trump now again uh you know that were somehow to swing
00:53:31.640 you know wildly but bears hang on a second and and and brad we're going to get russ vote up here
00:53:38.260 raheem's going to join us here's the point what what the congressman just said you have bright red
00:53:42.960 districts that have these squishes in there that are voting against your interests and here's the
00:53:48.280 thing the this is a new this movement now the hispanics 83 percent are america first just think
00:53:56.460 about that for a second short break back in 90 seconds in the war room for war room veterans you
