Impeachment Resolution passed the House of Representatives and now heads to the Senate where it will be voted on for the first time on a sitting cabinet member since 1876. Why is a Congressman so worked up about this?
00:01:44.200Despite the fact that Republicans refused to give him the tools needed to do what they are asking him to do.
00:01:49.580He's an honorable public servant who respects law enforcement and takes seriously his oath of office and his obligation to uphold and enforce the law.
00:02:00.780And in smearing his good name, Republicans are only impeaching themselves and showing what all their rhetoric about the border has been nothing more than a bunch of BS.
00:02:13.340And with that, Mr. Speaker, I reserve my time.
00:02:15.580This is the primal scream of a dying regime.
00:03:44.740In fact, the Democrats, instead of a defense of Mayorkas, they really, in this debate that took place this afternoon, really went after you harder than defending Mayorkas.
00:04:00.140Well, it's kind of been that way since I became a member of Congress, but especially through our debates in impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas.
00:04:07.320They would rather defend the man that has caused our country to be invaded by over 10 million illegal aliens with nearly 2 million gotaways.
00:04:16.160Among them, we don't know how many are terrorists that could actually carry out a terrorist attack here in the interior of our United States.
00:05:37.840I didn't control the timing there, Steve.
00:05:40.460I just forced impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas and started that process back in November when I brought my impeachment into a privileged resolution on the House floor, forcing the House to make this vote.
00:05:52.820Thankfully, Chairman Mark Green of the Homeland Committee took up my articles of impeachment after they were moved into Homeland Security Committee, and we actually moved them through.
00:06:02.860And it's because on Homeland, we know the stories.
00:06:06.860We've had witness after witness, parent after parent grieving over losing a child, grieving over another family member.
00:06:13.480We've had Border Patrol agents come and tell us how horribly they've been treated.
00:06:18.100We've had ranchers, property owners along the border come and tell us about the daily invasion and how they're not safe on their own land and their own homes.
00:06:26.340And we've had Secretary Mayorkas himself come and lie to our faces and lie to Congress as he claims the border is safe and the border is secure.
00:06:36.380But yet we have the proof that he has broken federal immigration law over and over and over with the mass parole of illegal aliens by the millions in the United States.
00:06:46.920The timing is perfect, Steve, and you called it exactly correctly.
00:06:50.680That Senate border surrender bill would make Mayorkas the emperor.
00:06:54.900It would give him the full power of a legalized invasion.
00:06:59.340And that's why we have to impeach Secretary Mayorkas and totally put a stake in the heart of the Senate border bill that is nothing but a surrender and that we can never allow to happen.
00:07:10.580And that's why it's dead on arrival in the House.
00:07:14.500Just so people understand this, when they go to the floor for this historic vote that has not happened since 1876, what are actually the two elements that you're bringing up?
00:07:23.760I want to give you a chance for a couple of minutes.
00:07:26.300Just explain what you are impeaching Mayorkas about.
00:07:29.940We are impeaching him for violating his oath of office.
00:07:33.980All of us swear an oath of office to uphold the laws of the United States.
00:07:38.700Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has totally broken his promise to the American people and violated his oath of office because through his office, he has actually broken federal immigration laws.
00:07:51.900And that's the other part of our articles of impeachment.
00:07:55.460Secretary Mayorkas has mass paroled millions of people into the interior of the United States.
00:08:02.900He's not using ICE detention facilities.
00:08:05.620He's not filling the beds in the ICE detention facilities.
00:08:09.240As a matter of fact, I'll give you an example.
00:08:11.060There's one facility in California that has 2,000 beds available for him to fill with these illegal aliens that are claiming and awaiting amnesty.
00:08:22.900But yet he's releasing them into the United States.
00:08:26.080Only six out of 2,000 beds is actually being used right now.
00:08:32.400While all of these illegal aliens are being mass released and they're filling up hotel rooms in New York City, they're filling up schools here in our country where children can't even go to school.
00:08:44.180And Americans are being forced to pay for it.
00:09:57.080He can wash his hands of it and say he refuses to participate, instead of actually joining and holding hands with the Democrats and voting no.
00:10:05.420That's absolutely the wrong thing for him to do.
00:10:07.860It's the wrong thing for him to do to the country.
00:10:10.480Another member of the House who's come out and said that he may be a no vote is Tom McClintock.
00:10:16.480Tom McClintock from California has a red Republican district.
00:10:20.040And the state of California has had the invasion, perhaps maybe the worst of all 50 of our states.
00:10:46.380Impeachment is firing and removal of a secretary, cabinet, of a vice president or a president, officeholder.
00:10:54.540When these people are violating their oath of office or actually breaking federal law.
00:11:00.020We know that Secretary Mayorkas has broken federal law.
00:11:03.260We know that he has violated his oath of office.
00:11:05.920And anyone that calls himself a constitutionalist should actually use the power of impeachment that the people, the American people, are urging them to do and actually vote yes to impeach Secretary Mayorkas.
00:11:38.060And I'll just pray for God's mercy on any Republican that becomes a third no vote.
00:11:42.900Do you believe that your impeachment hearings have been put in this front and center about Mayorkas and not implementing the laws that are on the books had a big impact in the complete crater in the Senate?
00:11:58.420We now know that the Republicans are not going to vote tomorrow to move it forward.
00:12:01.440Do you believe this helped take down the invasion authorization bill?
00:12:07.060I believe it was a part of the major momentum that has caused the Senate border surrender bill to come to a crashing halt.
00:12:14.940I would also say it was members like myself that were strong-nosed coming out in the very beginning.
00:12:20.500I even threatened Speaker Johnson that I would vacate the chair if he brought this bill to the floor.
00:12:25.900I made that threat weeks ago because I was so serious about it and had heard how horrific that Senate border bill would be.
00:12:33.000But I'm thrilled with Speaker Johnson today and I'm thrilled with our entire leadership here in the House because they stood so strong together and said that this bill was absolutely dead on arrival in the House.
00:12:49.480That's the kind of Republican conference I want to be in.
00:12:52.060We passed H.R. 2, Steve, the strongest border security bill filled with all of President Trump's strong border security policies that we know worked in the Trump administration.
00:13:46.520Where should people go on your website to follow this historic event today?
00:13:50.240Well, people can follow on any of my social media at RepMTG or at MTGreenE with two E's on the end.
00:13:58.980We'll keep everyone posted, but I think you'll see it best right here on War Room because I know, Steve, you'll be showing everyone what's happening.
00:14:08.280Congressman Green, thank you for joining us.
00:14:24.080The historic impeachment of Secretary of DHS, Department of Homeland Security, that was in charge of the border made the Senate bill a complete laughingstock because the bill made him the emperor.
00:14:36.180And, of course, he hadn't really implemented or executed the laws in the books.
00:16:29.580I'm going to actually borrow a page from my colleague, former Senator Claire McCaskill, because I think we all understood that this decision was going to come out this way.
00:16:44.340As you said, Ali, the argument was so outlandish that we knew that this would be a decision against Donald Trump.
00:16:54.900But I do think that this is a place where the legal ruling is so sweeping and so resounding and unanimous and clear in its upholding.
00:17:08.000And what it means to be a country governed by the rule of law that there really, I think, is an important political aspect to how this should be used.
00:17:20.680Because you have somebody who is running for the presidency as to whom a unanimous court of judges made up of people appointed by both Republicans and Democrats, where the court said the following.
00:17:35.320At bottom, former President Trump's stance would collapse our system of separated powers by placing the president beyond the reach of all three branches.
00:17:47.340He would be beyond the reach of Congress.
00:17:51.420He would be on the reach of the executive branch and the judiciary.
00:17:57.080So to there, I think that the message to the American public is, yes, he is not immune from criminal prosecution.
00:18:05.320But are you really going to say that this is somebody who you want to see in the White House again,
00:18:14.120who is taking this position where the judiciary has made it absolutely clear that his position has no place in our constitutional democracy, no place at all.
00:18:27.540This is really a resounding victory, not just for the prosecution team, not just for Judge Chutkin, the trial judge.
00:18:37.320But I think for all Americans of whatever political persuasions in terms of what it means to be a citizen in this country.
00:18:46.400Okay, we're going to have the two of the smartest guys about this.
00:18:51.840Mike Davis is going to join us in the next hour.
00:22:01.640And the Supreme Court already nine to nothing once ruled that they are not going to short circuit the process for reviewing this issue.
00:22:08.700And they've already granted certiorari on the Fisher case, the other January 6th case regarding obstruction and intent.
00:22:14.680So the Supreme Court is looking at this strongly.
00:22:17.880They've approached it correctly so far in not allowing Jack Smith, crooked Joe Biden, others to short circuit the process, the short circuit, the Constitution, due process, etc.
00:22:29.400And, you know, we are confident that they will continue to do that here because, again, as President Trump has stated time and time again,
00:22:37.400if you don't have immunity, you don't have a presidency because without immunity, every president is going to be looking over their shoulder
00:22:43.520and you will materially destroy the United States and thus destroy the country and our Constitution at its very base.
00:22:54.680Is this going to go – it's kind of confusing.
00:22:56.480I've got Mike Davis who's going to be able to spend a little more time with us in the next hour to go through it.
00:23:00.300But I'm confused about – did they limit the ability to you guys to go en banc, to go to the entire panel of the appellate court?
00:23:09.400Or do you have to go directly to the Supreme Court?
00:23:11.960Are they forcing you to go directly to the Supreme Court because they want to quick march this?
00:23:15.680They are trying to quick march it, no doubt about it, as was expected.
00:23:18.880But what they're stating is that we have to go to the Supreme Court in the next six days for a stay of the mandate,
00:23:26.480meaning for the mandate not to return down to Judge Chuckkin down in the D.C. district court.
00:23:35.940We knew that we were going to try to do that.
00:23:37.520And it's just another gambit, just like the one that Jack Smith attempted where he was defeated nine to nothing about a month and a half ago.
00:23:45.780So we are confident that the right process is going to be followed, the fair process is going to be followed.
00:23:51.460So we'll go to the Supreme Court, and then from there seek to go en banc first,
00:23:57.160and then if need be go back up to the Supreme Court on the actual substance of the issue.
00:24:02.420And again, the issue is the very survival of the presidency and of the republic.
00:24:07.520Last thing, Boris, I know it's a historic week for the president and you, what the legal team is going through.
00:24:13.380Did you ever think when you were at Georgetown Law School and one week you would have a D.C. appellate court
00:24:18.800talking about immunity that you're overseeing and then at the same time, a couple days later,
00:24:24.560actually have a historic hearing and argument about the 14th Amendment,
00:24:28.560but actually taking someone off a ballot so that people can't have the opportunity to vote for him?
00:24:34.480Steve, unfortunately, all I can tell you is that I, in some ways, did foresee it because this is what my family ran away from in the former Soviet Union.
00:24:41.920It could be a breakdown of all guardrails, a breakdown of all systems, a breakdown of lawfulness, a breakdown of systems of justice.
00:24:53.700Right now, we do not have a fair system of justice in this country.
00:24:57.100You saw in this opinion they're trying to talk, but just this only applies to President Trump
00:25:01.160because they are obsessed on doing anything they can to prevent President Trump from running and winning office,
00:25:09.040which is exactly what he's going to do.
00:25:10.920He's going to continue to run. He's going to win.
00:25:13.120He's going to be back in the Oval Office on Jan 20, 2025, to save our country and to make America great again,
00:25:19.580which is not a slogan. It is an action item.
00:25:22.060So what is happening right now is reminiscent of, obviously, the Soviet Union, Germany, Venezuela.
00:25:27.360Now, which, of course, Joe Biden is fighting for ballot rights for opponents in Venezuela,
00:25:33.400but while opposing ballot rights here, complete hypocrisy from somebody who has been a lifelong hypocrite in Joe Biden and his crime family.
00:25:41.340What President Trump is doing is fighting for our Constitution, fighting for the presidency, fighting for America.
00:25:47.380It's a righteous fight, a one that he will absolutely win.
00:25:52.680Boris, make sure we talk to the president a little bit later.
00:25:54.980I know he hasn't had the opportunity to follow it all day, and I know you have, and you've been too busy,
00:25:59.120but we've been monitoring CNN and MSNBC.
00:26:01.340I can tell you, I've never seen MSNBC in such a fury, such a tizzy.
00:26:08.600They're all over. This is all they're covering right now, the immunity case, because of the ruling.
00:26:12.960So the Trump derangement syndrome is up in high dungeon there right now
00:26:18.360because they understand the only way they're going to beat President Trump is through lawfare.
00:33:05.560Mr. Speaker, I will vote no today on the $17 billion aid package, which provides a blank check to Netanyahu, Ben Gavir, and the extreme right-wing government in Israel.
00:33:15.520How dare Ben Gavir, Israel's national security minister, have the goal to criticize America while calling for the mass expulsion of Palestinians?
00:33:25.780I will vote no because this bill includes zero humanitarian aid while children are dying and 400,000 Gazans face famine.
00:33:34.440I will vote no because this bill undermines human rights and international law, ignoring the recent ICJ decision calling on Israel to do more to protect Palestinian civilians.
00:33:47.420I will vote no because it is painfully obvious to the entire world that what is needed today is a permanent ceasefire and a release of all hostages.
00:33:59.060There come moments in the nation's history when our actions reveal our values.
00:34:06.200We must stand for stopping the bombing, for ending this brutal war, and for justice in the Middle East with a Palestinian state with equal rights living side-by-side with Israel.
00:35:04.760And yet, after all this destruction and devastation, the Netanyahu government is still nowhere close to their stated objective of destroying Hamas.
00:35:15.140Moreover, the United States has our own requirements outlawing the transfer of weapons to forces engaged in gross human rights violations.
00:35:24.040We have a responsibility to honor those laws, to facilitate a bilateral ceasefire, to move to end this campaign of mass casualty and loss of life that risk bringing the entire region closer to a wider, deadlier conflict.
00:35:40.100This bill contains $17 billion on top of the billions we already transfer.
00:35:45.020Every year, with no conditions and no humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable, everyday Americans should not tolerate this squandering of our resources
00:35:53.580without oversight on such an inhumane and ineffective operation, especially when we are living paycheck to paycheck,
00:36:00.380and they cannot see their Congress address their most basic material concerns.
00:36:21.080Sending $17.6 billion U.S. tax dollars with no conditions attached to Netanyahu's extremist government to drop more bombs on innocent Palestinians.
00:36:33.240The Israeli government has already killed 27,000 people.
00:36:57.500Then send money that conditions for a two-state solution because Netanyahu has over and over again told us he never wants to see a Palestinian state.
00:37:39.060Gentle lady from Connecticut, Reserves, gentleman from California is recognized.
00:37:44.220I would say the folks that believe in genocide is Hamas.
00:37:48.340I yield to the gentleman from Florida, the chairman of the state and foreign operations subcommittee, Mr. Diaz-Bollard, two and a half minutes.
00:51:07.820It should have been a phenomenal Republican election year.
00:51:11.260Republicans should have won the Senate.
00:51:12.900We should have won a big majority in the House.
00:51:15.260Instead, we lost a seat in the Senate, and we barely got a majority in the House.
00:51:19.940And I stood up and said, look, in any ordinary organization, when you are faced with failure, if you're running a business and you lose $50 million, you don't just say, hey, everything's great.
00:51:32.760No, you sit down and say, what are we doing wrong?
00:51:34.800And at that meeting, I turned to Mitch McConnell then and I said, look, we spent the last two years with a group, a handful of Republicans joining with Democrats to pass the Democrat agenda.
00:51:56.820In 2017 and 2018, when we had a Republican president, Republican Senate, Republican House, not one single time did a group of Democrats join with the Republicans to pass the Republican agenda.
00:53:25.920You're actually an active participant.
00:53:27.280The collapse of the the collapse of the of the invasion bill and also, quite frankly, getting people's minds right about we can't add things to the deficit.
