Stephen K. Kamb is a writer, comedian, and host of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher. He's also a regular on HBO's Hard Knocks and hosts the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And he's a frequent guest on the Bill Maher Show.
00:03:35.920Well, I'm very, very grateful to Bill for having me because even though I am on the left, I can't get onto liberal shows because it's kind of like that scene in Monty Python where they're like, hey, we want to join you.
00:03:50.080And they were like, well, how much do you hate the Romans?
00:03:55.900If you don't hate Trump, they will not let you on, even if you want to tell them, hey, here's how the Democrats could get the working class back.
00:04:04.360And I just find it undeniable at this point that, thanks to you, Mr. Bannon, Donald Trump became the voice of the working class and the voice of saving the working class from the handshake agreement between both parties to sell them out and sell out their futures.
00:04:19.080If you have arrived at that conclusion, which I think is the only true conclusion, you cannot get into liberal spaces.
00:04:25.300So I'm very grateful to Bill for having me, although the audience definitely didn't like me.
00:04:31.800You say you're a liberal or progressive, yet your books, this book is – and I know you're going to come out with a bigger media campaign later.
00:04:40.240But Second Class is one of the definitive works out there.
00:06:25.520The Democrats are the party of the college-credentialed elites and the dependent poor.
00:06:30.040So all of their policies are either about flattering the vanity of the rich or sustaining the poor that won't work.
00:06:37.960And meanwhile, everybody in the middle, the hardworking people who listen to your show, who you know about and who you respect, they were not represented by either party until Trump came along.
00:06:47.440And Trump showed up and said, wait a minute.
00:06:48.860Why is no one standing up for the hardworking American?
00:06:51.900And what I did for this book is I traveled around the country and interviewed working class Americans.
00:06:56.320And let me tell you something, Steve, and you know this.
00:06:58.620Working class Americans, whether they vote for Democrat or Republican, whether they're liberal or conservatives, they all have the same views.
00:07:04.540Like, neither party is really speaking to them.
00:07:06.700They all agree by and large about the most important issues.
00:07:10.340Polarization is a totally elite phenomenon.
00:07:15.680So the elites are very, very polarized.
00:07:18.520If you talk to somebody who's been to college, conservative or liberal, somebody who works in the media elites, somebody who works in the political elites, they look at the party platform, whether it's the GOP platform or the Democratic platform, and they're like, check, check, check, check, check.
00:07:34.540Whatever the party tells them is the good and the right, they agree with.
00:07:37.380So there's no natural connection between supporting abortion on demand and believing in climate change and supporting an open border.
00:07:45.460Those things were cobbled together because they are all in the interests of the leftist elites.
00:07:49.980And so if you're in those leftist elites, you're like, oh, these are all my priorities.
00:07:53.360If you are a hardworking American, those are not your priorities.
00:07:56.460You go issue by issue and say, well, you know, I'm a Christian, so I would never get an abortion.
00:08:01.560But I know somebody who was raped, so I don't want it to be banned.
00:08:04.620You say, well, I have a family member who's gay and I want them to be treated with dignity, but I have a child in school and I'm terrified of the trans agenda.
00:08:11.520Right. You have this much because the American working class is deeply tolerant.
00:08:15.740And so that is how they approach the world.
00:08:25.380And I think because this book is getting so much your book and you're a progressive or a liberal Democrat, your book is the antidote to the book of the moment.
00:08:34.980And I think when you come out, you're going to see that this book is what they're all talking about.
00:08:39.780White rural rage, the threat to American democracy.
00:08:43.600Now, they've just taken the same group that you've looked at in the same statistics.
00:08:47.400And do we have that clip I sent you earlier about him being on the on the morning show?
00:08:54.040They take the same group that you've studied and travel the country to do in the same statistical analysis you've looked at.
00:09:00.120They have come to the exact opposite conclusion that white working class, particularly white working class are not in cities or not in suburbs, but the rural working class are the most xenophobic, nativist, racist.
00:09:13.900And they say now dangerous group in American history since since the Confederates and the Civil War.
00:09:19.680In fact, they make direct analysis analogies to the Confederates, to the to the southern states in the Civil War.
00:09:25.720What do they see? What are they what do you see that they've missed or misinterpreting?
00:09:31.760It's such a slander on this great nation.
00:09:34.700And I say that as a Jewish person, I cannot sit here and allow this kind of slander of the American people to go unopposed.
00:09:44.960This book, this is the wishful thinking of over credentialed college elites who have turned their back on the working class and who hate America.
00:09:56.720And this is their wishful thinking as their justification.
00:09:59.780Oh, we don't have to care about the working class because they're racist.
00:10:03.500You know what, Steve, something that you have taught me first, probably before anybody else, the working class in MAGA is multiracial.
00:10:11.200Guess what? Donald Trump was polling at eight percent of black men in 2020.
00:10:16.360He got 18 percent. He's now polling 20 to 30 percent of black men.
00:10:20.640You can imagine what he's going to get.
00:10:22.240The majority of Hispanics, who, by the way, the majority of that community's working class, they're also part of the MAGA movement.
00:10:29.240This is absolute cope by a left that has abandoned labor to cater to their vanity morals and masquerade as the good guys while hating this country.
00:10:39.560How did the Democratic Party, because I come from a Democratic Union family and we split over the Vietnam War, right?
00:10:46.280My family left and they were huge Reagan.
00:10:48.140I mean, when Reagan came and they I remember in the 60s saying, well, Reagan's just a was just a small time actor when they were kids in the 30s.
00:11:10.300Then the Tea Party talked a little bit about it, but left it open for Donald Trump to kind of run the tables.
00:11:15.020What how did they abandon the working class of this country?
00:11:18.160They decided decided to start catering to the college credentialed elites.
00:11:22.820They created an economy that was extremely rewarding to people in the in the knowledge industry and extremely punishing to people who work with their hands for a living.
00:11:33.300And the way they did that was first they shipped the good paying manufacturing jobs overseas to China and Mexico to build up their middle class.
00:11:39.880Then they opened the border and imported an entirely new slave cast to undercut service industry jobs that remained here.
00:11:48.460And they with all of this signal to the working class, you're nothing.
00:12:40.640Ninety seven percent of donations coming out of Silicon Valley go to Democrats.
00:12:45.600The majority of Americans making over five hundred thousand dollars a year are Democrats.
00:12:50.280Nine of the ten richest counties in this country now vote for Democrats.
00:12:54.580And the majority of donations coming out of Wall Street went to Joe Biden and not to Donald Trump because these elites hate Trump because he represents the return of the middle class,
00:13:05.600the rise of the working class and the pride of the working class.
00:13:08.880That's what they hate and why they write this stuff, this drivel.
00:13:11.920They cannot stand the idea that people who work with their hands for a living should have dignity.
00:22:30.900A study came out from Yale, and the study found that there's a difference in how white liberals and white conservatives talk to people of color.
00:22:41.260And all of your listeners who are people of color know this, but I didn't know this, although I did know it about myself, if I'm being honest.
00:22:57.100And white conservatives don't do this.
00:22:59.800And I looked at that, and it was, like, the most terrifying thing I'd ever seen because it was such an indictment of my own worldview.
00:23:06.940I was like, what kind of a worldview produces this kind of patronizing, insulting, racist behavior in the name of being on the side of justice and in the—and they call the other side racist?
00:23:19.000I think that was the first step in my deprogramming and my getting rid of my Trump derangement syndrome.
00:23:23.660Now I'm like, oh, yeah, obviously, if you care about the working class, there's only one movement in this country that's representing them.
00:23:31.500In that transition from Trump derangement syndrome and living in the heart of it, in that journey, aren't you ostracized?
00:24:51.120There's a—I don't think it's a big faction, but it's sizable and it's vocal.
00:24:55.560But you've just got to go with your beliefs, right?
00:24:57.880I mean, I'm a Catholic, and I keep telling guys.
00:25:00.840I said, hey, last time I looked, St. Elizabeth, St. Anne, St. John the Baptist, all these people were Jews, right?
00:25:06.660I don't know—well, I don't understand that Old Testament is inextricably linked to our religion and not just that, to our culture.
00:25:14.960It's the Judeo—you know, it's the Judeo-Christian West, and this is what's under attack.
00:25:19.780This is what this red-green merger—and it's very powerful, right?
00:25:24.260It's very agnostic and very powerful, and right now is the battle for it.
00:25:27.780This is what the higher-level spiritual fight we have going on right today is about there.
00:25:33.500I do have to point out, Trump got 35 percent of Muslim Americans, and to me, this whole Gaza thing is a bit of an excuse because I think even more of them want to vote for him.
00:25:42.520And so they're using this as, oh, this is why we're leaving Biden.
00:26:02.940People just see it, and they go, hey, I'm going to be other.
00:26:05.120This is what they try to do to the—think about, you know, when Trump got to Mar-a-Lago on January 20th, 2021.
00:26:12.860Everybody abandoned him, and they had billboards up for our followers.
00:26:16.200It was like the lives of others in East Germany, right?
00:26:19.020If you see something, if you see these domestic terrorists, that's where this book right here—can I have that?
00:26:23.960This white rural rage is just—this book is—I mean, it demonizes working-class Americans, and it's a vicious book.
00:26:33.240In that, though, they have given us a blueprint, which I'll talk about later.
00:26:37.240The book comes out, and thank you so much for bringing a—
00:26:39.800The book comes out April 2nd, and I just wanted to read to you the inscription that I wrote because I hold you in very high esteem, Mr. Band.
00:26:47.540I wrote, Dear Mr. Band, as an American and as a Jew, I must give you my thanks.
00:26:53.180On the American front, you have turned the tide for our people in a way that cannot be overstated.
00:26:58.520And as a Jew, you stood up for truth and justice at a time when so many were cowards.
00:27:04.020God bless you and everyone you hold dear.
00:41:21.380Talk to me about – I don't know if we've got to have a bigger tell of the rats leaving the ship and people getting very nervous of how they're going to be held accountable than Victoria Nuland leaving.
00:41:36.080This is like Collins, Dr. Collins leaving before the 2022 midterm when Collins left as Fauci's boss and then Fauci left.
00:41:44.280Talk to us about why is this a big deal that Victoria Nuland, of all days, with Ukraine hanging in the balance and Zelensky under tremendous pressure, she would bail.
00:41:55.140What's really interesting is that according to my sources at the Foggy Bottom right now at the State Department, that there was actually a voicemail left at Vicky Nuland's office this morning, a raspy voice going,
00:42:15.300Yeah, this is really bad for anybody who hooked their cart to the horse, the war horse of Victoria Nuland.
00:42:24.620People need to understand that this is 100%, as you say, the rats fleeing the ship, to use the naval term because, hey, we're a bunch of naval guys around here,
00:42:33.280that she is leaving the Biden administration.
00:42:47.600She's running to her bunker because she doesn't want to be associated with the fallout that ensues from the Biden administration's slow slide into the grave.
00:42:59.760Anyone else and all these other Obama holdovers that stayed behind and are now running essentially the third term of the Obama administration,
00:43:08.760you're going to see them slowly all start to abandon him as we get closer and closer to November.
00:43:19.220I want to drill down on this, particularly what's going on in this German, the leak of the German, about going in and going on offense with missiles and dragging us into a shooting war.
00:43:30.000Make sure Jack knows about the supply chains.
00:43:31.840He knows about unrestricted warfare of the Chinese Communist Party.
00:43:50.800DoneWithDebt.com published a brilliant strategy designed to let you keep your hard-earned tax refund and reduce or eliminate credit card debt.
00:44:00.300Most Americans owe thousands in credit card debt.
00:44:02.960In fact, Daily Mail's got a story that 56 million Americans carry credit card debt.
00:44:08.580And that debt will take years to pay off if you pay it off at all.
00:44:13.000DoneWithDebt found that filing bankruptcy is usually not the answer.
00:44:17.540And taking out loans to pay off credit cards usually increases the debt.
00:44:22.140When you engage DoneWithDebt, their legal experts and skilled negotiators take on the credit card companies for you.
00:44:28.740Their winning strategies are designed with one goal.
00:44:31.620Solve your debt situation quickly and permanently.
00:45:13.760We'll be up and down throughout the evening.
00:45:15.520Also, we're going to give hopefully a lot of coverage if we can get the feed to Todd Bensman, who's going to join me at 6 o'clock.
00:45:20.900Todd's going into West Roxbury to give this talk and really make sure the folks in Roxbury understand how the Great Replacement Theory is actually working on them.
00:45:32.460The African-Americans have been in Roxbury forever, had their community center taken to give turnover to illegal alien invaders.
00:46:51.620And she'll eventually, I think, for war crimes go to prison.
00:46:53.980But is that her husband should go, should be on the Secret Service watch list right now for writing that piece about Red Caesar and trying to assassinate President Trump, giving the moral justification.
00:47:04.220Or is it she's just bailing on Zelensky and the oligarchs when they need her most to get the $80 billion from the from the Americans?
00:47:11.880Well, Steve, there's there's a lot there.
00:47:15.220So these these types, these neoconservative neoliberals from this devoutly and it is religious.
00:47:23.900That's why you use the word devoutly, because this is a spiritual war for them.
00:47:27.580The religion is anti-Russia, but only because, remember, they want to take over Russia.
00:47:35.980Victoria Nuland's family hails from Bessarabia.
00:47:38.480This is right next to Odessa. This was part of the Russian Empire.
00:47:42.800They fled when Stalin took power and started putting out throwing out all the Trotskyites.
00:47:48.800This was not a situation where where they were anti-communist.
00:47:53.780It's just they're a different flavor of communism.
00:47:56.700And that's what people need to understand.
00:47:58.420That flavor, they've decided to come to the United States and use the U.S. and use the U.S. infrastructure and U.S. working class and the U.S. the U.S. war power to be able to take over what they believe is rightfully theirs.
00:48:11.680Again, Robert Kagan had argued before that.
00:48:41.000And of course, she's been working hand in glove to prop up the military establishment, not only in the United States, but all across the capitals of Europe.
00:48:50.480So you've got these people in there in the German in the German high command now in the German military talking on unsecured phone lines that are easily hackable by the Russians in apparently a Singaporean hotel.
00:49:03.440If you listen to some of this stuff, dials into a conference and these people are talking loosey goosey about how we're not going to be able to move into what they say.
00:49:13.300And this what's the biggest thing lately?
00:49:14.740And Macron even said it, you know, kind of said the quiet part out loud.
00:49:17.700NATO troops in Ukraine coming in to stabilize what they call Ukraine's western flank, potentially moving the regime from Kiev all the way to Lviv, setting up a quote unquote green zone.
00:49:52.180And then you had the Finnish prime minister yesterday saying, oh, if we are going to go into war, it looks like we are going to go to war with Russia.
00:49:59.320Of course, the Finns, the Finns hate the Russians and the Russians don't have any love lost back for back for them from the winter war.
00:50:10.700I would not be surprised if she turns her head up somewhere in Europe while all of this is going to crap around her because she doesn't care about Zelensky.
00:50:20.400She doesn't care about the Ukrainian people or how many of them have died on her watch.
00:50:25.480She cares about regime change in Russia.
00:51:12.400Huge lineup today throughout the rest of the week.
00:51:14.800And then tonight, Steve, and you're more than welcome, myself and Charlie Kirk, we're going to be doing a super stream for the Super Tuesday lineup as it comes in.
00:51:23.100I don't think there'll be any surprises when it comes to the results.
00:51:25.980But what we are going to be looking at is potentialities for some of these for some of these swing states that are going to be up today and looking at turnout numbers as tracks to the general election.
00:51:40.740They had a big article about them the other day, massive about this, the same with Catherine Engelbrecht, Cleta Mitchell, Mike Lindell, all of it.
