00:05:39.320 and hear Joe Biden really address more the state of Ukraine than he did the state of our union.

00:25:15.220 June. And so we do still have primaries that we need to win and make sure we get strong
00:25:20.400 conservatives elected because I don't have enough reinforcements here in Washington, D.C.
00:25:25.340 to help me leverage the Speaker of the House, apparently, because we did a great job last
00:25:31.800 January with Kevin McCarthy and that leverage. But Kevin wanted that position so badly that he
00:25:37.240 was willing to go along with our concessions eventually. And now, Mike Johnson, he's not in
00:25:43.540 the same position. We suspend all the rules that we fought so hard to get. And we are spending money
00:25:50.500 on suspension. We're not supposed to be doing that. We're giving in to all of the leverage we have
00:25:54.900 to secure the southern border. And it's very frustrating and unjustifiable. The debt is
00:25:59.620 unjustifiable. The minibus that we just passed is unjustifiable. We suspended the rules to pass
00:26:04.800 that. That should not have happened. We fought for 72 hours to read a bill. We fought to be able
00:26:10.000 to add amendments to bills. We fought to have single subject appropriations.
00:26:14.000 What is he afraid of? What is he afraid of? We have his back. We have his back. We are pushing
00:26:21.640 him. And those who are weak in the conference will go along with his position.

00:30:49.360 The markets are not buying it. What they heard is just an incredible amount of spending. So look,
00:30:54.040 you're one of the smartest hedge fund guys on Wall Street. Just walk us through, you know,
00:30:58.000 not partisan, not political. We know you're a big Trump guy. But just objectively, as you're,
00:31:03.460 because you're a fiduciary, as you look at it for where you put money, what you heard last night as
00:31:09.100 a fiduciary, just walk us through, what's reality? Well, Steve, let's just look at history, which
00:31:16.500 is what we do at our firm. As you said, I have political views, but I also have financial views.
00:31:23.980 And Joe Biden's problem is he's having to run from his record. And his record is that the millionaire
00:31:34.640 class, the billionaire class, the top 15 percent, has never done so well, never done so well as under
00:31:41.940 Joe Biden. And, you know, the working class, the bottom 15 percent economically, have fared poorly.
00:31:50.740 And, you know, it's because what I call the three I's, inflation, interest rates and immigration.
00:31:58.140 And, you know, is we've got Paul Krugman in The New York Times, Alan Blinder, former Fed vice chair,
00:32:04.280 Princeton professor in The Wall Street Journal, the excoriating the American people that they don't
00:32:10.880 understand how good they've got it. Well, they do know that their purchasing power is down,
00:32:15.600 that there was a huge amount of government spending. And the government spending led to
00:32:21.800 inflation. The inflation leads to high interest rates. And the Biden administration's strategy
00:32:28.100 to keep wage inflation down was to open the border. So, like, the bottom 50 percent,
00:32:34.760 their wages have been suppressed by immigration. And that's not coming from me. That's coming from
00:32:41.760 Jerome Powell, Fed chair, who said it on 60 Minutes three weeks ago.
00:32:49.020 So, when you look at this as a professional and as a macro guy looking to make big bets and
00:32:54.820 with capital, right now you've got, we just had Boebert here, you know, he said, I cut a trillion
00:33:02.960 dollars, but that was, it was three and he took it down to two. But the three was going to go away
00:33:07.520 anyway because of the post-pandemic. When you see a two trillion dollar deficit right now,
00:33:13.920 and the one they're going to work on is going to have another two trillion, we're running at a
00:33:17.320 trillion dollars every hundred days. Just walk me through the mentality. They're financing this
00:33:23.240 short term. She can't sell tens and thirties. She can't go out long. They're financing this short
00:33:27.860 term. So, this is kind of even out of Powell's jurisdiction now. Are we getting to a place
00:33:32.720 that we've embedded inflation and dropping the purchasing power of the dollar that we're just
00:33:39.880 in the vicious cycle? And he's just going to continue to try to press on spending and use
00:33:44.400 treasury and the Fed to prop this thing up? Well, look, I think that all they care about it is getting
00:33:51.520 to November 5th, getting him across the line somehow. And again, from an observational and
00:34:00.220 financial markets point of view, I think that they are engaging in, I've made up a term for it,
00:34:07.520 I call it the maximalist point of no return, is you run big enough deficits, you pile up
00:34:13.740 enough national debt, you keep the size of the government or keep growing the size of the
00:34:20.800 government in the economy, you make the private sector depend on government subsidies, as we're
00:34:26.840 doing with this, or well-named the Inflation Reduction Act. So, you get to a point where it's
00:34:38.500 unfixable. And I think that that's why I've come out from behind my desk and am taking a strong stance
00:34:47.700 here, is if this keeps going the way it is, and if 2024 and beyond is run like this, we will be at
00:34:56.980 the point of no return, where we cannot grow our way out, is there is still a chance for us to be able
00:35:04.360 to freeze, not cut spending, and they put in supply-side solutions, deregulate, push oil prices down to
00:35:17.080 $40, as with President Trump in Greenville a couple weeks ago. He said he wants $40 energy, and he wants
00:35:24.740 that from U.S. producers, the crude and net gas supplying the world. So, you know, there, we can
00:35:33.740 salvage this, but time is running out.
00:35:38.660 So, I want to go back over this. You're saying, I love it, the maximalist point of no return,
00:35:45.580 they've just doubled and tripled down, and they're not going to stop because they can't stop.
00:35:49.540 In your, I guess, theory of the case, you go like that, you're going to have a crash. It's
00:35:55.200 eventually going to crash. You're going to have a depression. But even if you try to do something
00:36:01.000 here, you're risking having a recession, right? It's just reality. So, your point is, hey, Bandit,
00:36:06.140 I hear you. I hear the war room. You're talking about massive cuts. We want to get to a balanced
00:36:09.260 budget. Yeah, maybe. That's great. But you haven't seen any of that happening close in Congress. So,
00:36:14.780 let's put a pin in that. Your point is, let's just stop the increase in spending. Let's just
00:36:19.380 freeze spending where it is. Freeze it where it is. And then you think there is a plan there
00:36:24.960 with lowering energy costs and other deregulation or deconstruction of the administrative state
00:36:31.420 policies that you can start growing the economy and eventually, and it'll take years, but work our
00:36:37.380 way out of this. Is that your general theory of how we have to do this?
00:36:40.500 Yes. I think that President Trump should come out with a three-arrow strategy, just like Prime
00:36:51.000 Minister Abe had in Japan. And he reinvigorated the Japanese economy. And 10 years later,
00:36:59.580 Japan is—they've come out of deflation, stock markets back to the all-time high.
00:37:05.860 So, you know, I think if President Trump were to adopt a policy of 3 percent real economic growth
00:37:14.620 through deregulation, 3 percent that he would commit to the deficit being at 3 percent instead
00:37:22.440 of 6 percent when he leaves office. So, a gradual decline. And 3 million more barrel equivalents
00:37:32.340 of energy being pumped by U.S. producers that we could stabilize this thing and be on a decade-long
00:37:41.600 glide path to get out. But, you know, I am saying that if it's not done, if that's not started next year,
00:37:51.740 then it is going to be Lael Brainard's view of the world. Now, who is Lael Brainard?
00:37:58.460 Lael Brainard is someone who has never had a job in the private sector. As far as I can tell,
00:38:03.440 the only thing she's ever run is her mouth. And she is the National Economic Council Chair
00:38:10.340 for President Biden. And she gave a very telling speech at the Economic Club of New York last summer.
00:38:17.980 And she basically said, we are going to continue spending. And when we win in 2025,
00:38:26.540 all the Trump tax cuts are going to expire. And we are going to raise taxes just as President Biden
00:38:33.180 said last night. We're going to raise it on people making more than $400,000 a year and on corporations.
00:38:40.280 Well, I can tell you that is a lie. There is not enough money there to fund the spending that they
00:38:51.220 are talking about on a sustainable basis.
00:38:56.500 Just for clarification, you're saying right now the deficit is at 6% of GDP. That's unsustainable.
00:39:03.100 Yeah. Mathematically, just in case it's sustainable. You're saying with President, you would argue,
00:39:06.880 let's get it with freezing spending and growth. Let's get it to 3%. Let's get the deficit to 3% of GDP.
00:39:14.800 Yeah. And look, you know, is the households, businesses and markets will react to signals.
00:39:21.760 So if you commit to that, if President Trump were to form something like a bipartisan committee to review
00:39:33.800 the problem that we've got and get some kind of bipartisan buy-in, then the markets will respond to
00:39:40.780 that, that interest rates, you know, interest rates don't have to go down because the economy is bad.
00:39:46.660 But interest rates can go down because you're fiscally prudent. So, you know, if markets could
00:39:53.400 anchor to a, you know, a politician, a leader who actually comes out and commits to cutting the
00:40:03.300 deficits rather than blowing them out, freezing spending rather than, you know, the host of
00:40:08.940 new programs we saw last night, then the, you know, it, it, it could work. But it's like I said,
00:40:17.220 I have come out from behind my desk. I've taken a more public role because of my concern.
00:40:24.740 And, and just to, and we talk about narratives and building up, this is signal, not noise.
00:40:29.200 Your point is on, uh, 20 January, 2025. It, it, there couldn't be a more, a bigger dichotomy or
00:40:38.820 spread between what the two alternatives are. Trump's economic policy that you saw at least
00:40:43.440 part of it in those three years, uh, before the bioweapon hit us of kind of growth, low inflation,
00:40:49.480 low interest rates, or Biden, which the maximalist point of no return, they're all in. And you saw the
00:40:56.060 speech last night, they're all in, and they're not going to back off. I mean, they're going to put
00:40:59.880 the pedal down. And your point is that just not sustainable in the system we have currently?
00:41:06.440 Not at all. It is look, and I think this is intentional. They, they want to get the government
00:41:16.940 bigger in the economy. And, um, it, it was a, a list of handouts last night. And I think what we're
00:41:26.840 seeing in the U S is the American people don't want handouts. American people want the, to be
00:41:32.720 responsible for themselves, but they can't do it if they can't get real wage gains, if inflation is
00:41:39.320 killing them, the, uh, if interest rates are up, the, uh, and, you know, immigration is suppressing
00:41:45.840 their wages. So, you know, what we've got now is a terrible policy mix. And, you know, not only is
00:41:53.360 it blowing out the deficit, you know, I, I think it's the, uh, you know, it's soul crushing for ordinary
00:42:00.200 Americans and it's showing up in the numbers. You know, I, I think it's fascinating. There was a
00:42:05.680 Washington post article this week that said that Bernie Sanders, you know, Senator Sanders,
00:42:12.040 the, uh, avowed socialist was telling Joe Biden that his policies aren't working. Now, you know,
00:42:18.600 I think he has a different worldview than I do. I think his worldview is, well, you know, let's double
00:42:24.260 down when they try to win the election and they go from there. But, you know, I can tell you that
00:42:32.320 Senator Sanders has a more humane view for middle-class and working Americans than the Biden
00:42:37.500 administration does. That, you know, the, that this has been a toxic combo over the past couple
00:42:44.500 of years. And now the chickens are coming home to roost. It is, uh, you know, impossible for
00:42:51.180 millennials to buy homes. The credit card defaults are ticking up amongst the lowest income cohorts
00:43:01.060 and among young people and among young people. And I can tell you, this is why Joe Biden is the,
00:43:08.340 in a fever pitch to cut the student debt because the credit card and auto defaults are ticking up
00:43:15.920 in the 18 to 25 year old category, as well as the lower 50% of the economic cohort. So,
00:43:27.140 uh, you know, there, there, there's a world of pain out there. They've created an asset
00:43:33.620 low palooza. You know, it's like stocks are flying. Interest rates are high. If you've got
00:43:39.040 a lot of money in the bank, you're getting 5% on.

00:47:21.420 his pre-bottle, I thought President Trump's pre-bottle was obviously better than Biden's
00:47:27.420 harangue. But on Biden's harangue, my theory of the case there is he did what he had to do
00:47:35.300 politically for himself. He was essentially in free fall among Democrats. He had to convince
00:47:41.500 them, try to convince them that he could stand up against President Trump, mano a mano.
00:47:46.400 Now, we know that can't happen. I'm a huge advocate of anywhere, any place, any time that
00:47:51.480 he just goes in and throws down hard. And the debate will be at a time and place of Trump's
00:47:58.560 choosing. Let's just get a couple of microphones and go hit it. But you're, you know, last night
00:48:05.680 you saw it. That was his best shot. That's his shot right there to say, hey, I can do this.
00:48:09.940 I think it tamped down the Whitmer, Newsom, Michelle Obama. So now it's game on. And when
00:48:16.360 it's game on, you got to draw a strong contrast. The strongest contrast President Trump can
00:48:22.460 do, can make, is that he had this job before and you had three years of peace and prosperity
00:48:28.760 before we hit with a bioweapon. And it wasn't actually that bad during the bioweapon hit in
00:48:34.820 2020. They threw everything at him. But if you look at the math and what he did, which was a
00:48:40.280 reasonable, remember back in the old days when we were in pandemic, we talk about the massive drop in
00:48:44.200 aggregate demand. As economies were shutting down, as the supply chain got tied up in China,
00:48:51.240 aggregate demand, this is kind of a Keynesian term, aggregate demand, it was a free fall.
00:48:55.080 We talked about that bridge. You've got the Trump economy of 19 on one side and you got
00:48:59.720 the sunlit uplands on the other. You have to get through that when you have a massive drop in
00:49:04.300 aggregate demand. And President Trump did that in a very reasonable, I think it was $1.1 trillion
00:49:09.160 bill to, and it was not perfect, but at the time you had to make those decisions, but it was pretty
00:49:14.780 damn good. And it got it going. Biden then comes in and as reasonable people like Larry Summers and
00:49:22.900 War Room and Peter Navarro and Dave Bratt and others, we said, no, these bills you're putting
00:49:28.520 through, the inflation reduction at these Orwellian, as Scott Besson says, these Orwellian named
00:49:34.000 bills, it's just adding trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars. And right now with the
00:49:41.700 economy coming back full, what's it going to do? It's going to make, it's going to drive
00:49:45.380 prices up. And that hasn't changed. Remember, inflation is accumulative. And the purchasing power
00:49:52.080 of the dollar is kind of the reverse of it. So you've had a 17 or 18%, 19% drop in purchasing
00:49:57.640 power of the dollar. The BRICS nations are, this is why we did the birch gold over the last three
00:50:03.720 years on the prime reserve currency. The BRICS nations are not idiots. The people that, a staff
00:50:11.260 that around their finance ministers, you know, all went to Sloan School at MIT, all went to the
00:50:18.220 University of Chicago, Harvard Business School, Stanford. They know how to work in HP 12C.
00:50:22.080 They can do the numbers. They can do discounted cash flow and say, hey, you know what we should

00:51:11.200 time, given information, markets will tend towards efficiency. And that will mean, you
00:51:16.540 know, price discovery, you know, appropriate price discovery. Right. So markets are efficient
00:51:22.720 over time. The world is an efficient market over time. This is why you saw the pop in
00:51:27.960 gold this morning at 2190. The first trades hit it. Why? Because they saw last night the
00:51:33.000 happy talk. They saw, as Congressman Bovard said, even a more Christmas tree of spending.
00:51:37.860 Did you see anything there? They hide it by calling it investments. They do that because
00:51:43.740 that's a political operatives term. They've test marketed that people, the working class
00:51:48.380 people, middle class people. Yes. Investments are good. You know, I want to invest. I should
00:51:52.720 invest. Investments are good. If the government's investing, maybe that's a good thing. So they
00:51:56.680 take spending, which is enslaving you, and they turn it to a word investment. So, well, that's
00:52:01.820 not just talking about investment. That just means, you know, we're at seven trillion dollars
00:52:05.400 in this budget now. It's going, and the point is, and by his economy is not working, why
00:52:09.680 do we get these bigger gaps? Why is war room always right on what the deficit is? And the
00:52:14.800 Biden regime's projections are wrong. It gets down to, one, the supplementals they throw in
00:52:20.860 there, but number two, they always miss on the tax revenue. Last year, their projections
