Former Vice President Joe Biden has been charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and conspiracy to commit perjury. Former Vice President and former presidential candidate Peter Navarro is also facing criminal charges related to his involvement in the Watergate scandal and the cover-up surrounding it.
00:00:00.000Neither Nixon nor Agnew went to jail for even a day.
00:00:06.440Now, though, we are learning the consequences of, you know, in our history,
00:00:11.640letting presidents evade personal punishment when they have committed crimes.
00:00:15.400Because now we've got a former president who isn't leaving office like Nixon did, like Agnew did.
00:00:20.820Now we've got one who isn't eliminating the ongoing danger to the public by getting out of public life.
00:00:26.560Right. So maybe that could have been what he traded his freedom for.
00:00:29.380No, for our sins, what we've got now is one of these guys who's staying in public life and therefore the threat is alive.
00:00:37.180Right. He's running to get back into the presidency with four different criminal trials stacked up like taxiing planes on a runway.
00:00:44.600And so, no, none of us having any idea what it will mean for us as a country for him to be sent to jail as part of these criminal proceedings is part of what is new for us in this moment,
00:00:56.240which means we are about to find out what it's like to be a country that has a presidential candidate and former president in jail because he refuses to follow court orders.
00:01:05.800It's not a thought experiment anymore. It's not the future. It is here. Are we ready?
00:01:09.880And the rule of law and the democratic system go together. Right.
00:01:17.420As the rule of law has bent and been broken by Trump and his movement, we've also seen the democratic system bend and get broken by Trump and his movement.
00:01:28.700Obviously, we did not have a peaceful transfer of power the last time he competed in and lost an election.
00:01:34.020There is no commitment at all, no expectation at all by anyone that he and his followers will allow for a peaceful transfer of power this next time.
00:01:45.220If he loses this next election as well.
00:01:49.760He's not even giving lip service to the idea that they will allow for a peaceful transfer of power.
00:01:57.100And even more importantly than that, just coming out of his face in his Republican Party, accepting that his followers will not abide the results of the next election.
00:02:12.380And neither will the Republican Party in all of its power, in all of its resources, accepting that is now the price of admission to power in that party.
00:02:19.940Mr. Speaker, I rise to alert this House of the actions of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which seem to be vindicating the claim made by Peter Navarro that he is being held as a political prisoner.
00:02:32.260I've been trying for five weeks to be able to interview Mr. Navarro.
00:02:37.060And there are provisions that ought to allow this.
00:02:39.120And I was informed directly by Director Peters, who runs the bureau, that that request would be denied.
00:02:45.360And the reason it's being denied is because Peter Navarro is too notorious to be interviewed by a member of Congress.
00:02:54.340John Gotti was interviewed when he was in prison.
00:02:57.720The QAnon shaman was interviewed in prison.
00:03:00.720Director Peters herself brought NBC News through prisons to showcase the work of corrections that's being done.
00:03:07.580So I think there is something else afoot here.
00:03:10.160Mr. Navarro, I'm being told, is not being allowed to access his attorney.
00:03:14.220And it is because it is shameful what has been done to Peter Navarro based on a sham January 6th committee and a sham indictment and a sham conviction that we ought to work to remediate immediately upon President Trump's rightful and righteous return to office.
00:03:30.680Our democracy is mortal, too, just like every other democracy in history has ever been.
00:03:35.640Being real about the harm that has been done to us already, being clear-eyed about the fact that we can see some of these same dynamics that work in other countries,
00:03:44.240tuning into the fact that the right under Donald Trump is admiring of and openly emulating the way other countries have destroyed their democracies,
00:03:54.120recognizing they are willingly part of this project.
00:04:01.660I feel like that at least should put some steel in our spine.
00:04:05.640Because it should tell us the part that we have to play here, right?
00:04:11.300It should at least give us real, grounded, practical expectations of where this is all going to go next and where our efforts are most needed to stand up for who we are.
00:04:21.100It should give us a clear sense of what we're going to need to defend and protect very soon,
00:04:27.180when the leader of our country's branch of this movement sometime very soon almost inevitably is going to break that court order again
00:04:35.740and is now, we know today, going to be ordered into a jail cell.
00:04:40.600He inevitably, very soon, is going to be ordered into jail.
00:04:44.640Because we are on the precipice of that happening and all the freakout that's going to attend it is something that we should expect.
00:07:27.180Peter Navarro is in a federal prison for a misdemeanor.
00:07:32.000Peter Navarro is in a federal prison for a misdemeanor.
00:07:35.160That misdemeanor was really backing the Constitution on executive privilege and also standing up to the sham J6 committee,
00:07:45.440which we know now is a sham, and this is one of the reasons McCarthy and Johnson and everybody should have gotten to work on this right away.
00:07:52.740We are calling for – War Room calls for the immediate dismissal of the director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Colette Peters.
00:08:02.580But she should be hauled before Congress this afternoon, and this is one of my problems with Johnson, knowing that Matt Gaetz made that speech,
00:08:10.580knowing that Matt Gaetz had talked to people in the house, that Peter Navarro was not being allowed to be interviewed by people like Matt Gaetz because he's too notorious.
00:08:21.020This is – he's purely a political prisoner.
00:09:06.540Why do you think President Trump's in a trial?
00:09:09.020Pull the camera back and think about it in American history.
00:09:11.760What we have done here, what we've allowed them to do, there was no need to allow them to do this.
00:09:18.980This is what controlled opposition gets you.
00:09:23.020This is what the Murdochs and Fox and the Republican establishment and the donor class and the political operatives and the Franklin's pollsters, all of them, this is what gets you.
00:09:32.380That MAGA, which remember, they never, ever, ever anticipated in a billion years that President Trump would be leading, we would be back.
00:09:42.700That's because this audience, the rest of the audience of other shows of Real America's Voice, the MAGA movement, the America First movement, people coming together to have the back of President Trump.
00:09:53.960And now he's not just the presumptive nominee, he's going to be the nominee, he's also going to be the next President of the United States, of which I would argue would be his third term because he's actually the President of the United States now because Biden didn't win.
00:10:07.960They have Peter Navarro in a prodding in a prison in Florida for a misdemeanor.
00:10:15.100And they will not allow Matt Gaetz, who they understand is brilliant, to go see him.
00:10:30.940And this is what they're attempting to do.
00:10:36.820This is why we need an immediate, an immediate, an immediate criminal investigation of the criminal conspiracy against President Trump and all of his followers from Arizona to Michigan to Fannie Willis, all of them.
00:10:52.900And we now know Fannie Willis, if she's too good, she's not going to testify in front of the committee down in Georgia.
00:10:57.680Their arrogance, they're arrogant because we've allowed them to be arrogant.
00:11:00.980When you see what they do and you see Rachel Maddow all puffed up there and Ann Applebaum all puffed up, they're nervous, but they're all puffed up.
00:11:07.780And their unctuousness and righteousness, self-righteousness.
00:11:38.240I want to play, if I can play, Denver, if I can play once again the Matt Gaetz.
00:11:42.280Let's play the Matt Gaetz speech from the House floor.
00:11:45.900Mr. Speaker, I rise to alert this House of the actions of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, which seem to be vindicating the claim made by Peter Navarro that he is being held as a political prisoner.
00:11:58.740I've been trying for five weeks to be able to interview Mr. Navarro.
00:12:03.560And there are provisions that ought to allow this.
00:12:05.600And I was informed directly by Director Peters, who runs the Bureau, that that request would be denied.
00:12:11.840And the reason it's being denied is because Peter Navarro is too notorious to be interviewed by a member of Congress.
00:12:20.820John Gotti was interviewed when he was in prison.
00:12:24.200The QAnon shaman was interviewed in prison.
00:12:27.220Director Peters herself brought NBC News through prisons to showcase the work of corrections that's being done.
00:12:34.080So I think there is something else afoot here.
00:12:36.880Mr. Navarro, I'm being told, is not being allowed to access his attorney.
00:12:40.380And it is because it is shameful what has been done to Peter Navarro based on a sham January 6th committee and a sham indictment and a sham conviction that we ought to work to remediate immediately upon President Trump's rightful and righteous return to office.
00:13:14.260Why is Colette Peters not in front of a committee today?
00:13:18.100Why are we not demanding her resignation today?
00:13:21.200Why are we not making her get up there in front of the nation and say why she will not let Gates and others go see Peter Navarro and why he can't see his lawyer?
00:13:32.920Johnson, in your fecklessness and your weakness, why are you not calling Jim Jordan immediately to formally start an investigation into the vast criminal conspiracy against President Trump and all his followers, the MAGA movement?
00:14:01.980If the history of this movement shows us anything, if 2016 shows us anything, of the great comeback of President Trump from the doldrums in Mar-a-Lago of January of 2021, what does history show us?
00:14:20.700The only way to beat these people is to take them on.
00:14:25.580They don't believe in the rule of law.
00:14:27.080They don't believe in the Constitution.
00:14:28.700They do not believe the United States of America.
00:14:30.680Look at the scum they have on these college campuses and the faculty that have this revolt going on, the beginning of the kinetic part of the Third World War in the United States of America.
00:16:19.680He is mortal, too, just like every other democracy in history has ever been.
00:16:24.420Being real about the harm that has been done to us already.
00:16:27.660Being clear-eyed about the fact that we can see some of these same dynamics at work in other countries.
00:16:32.440Tuning into the fact that the right under Donald Trump is admiring of and openly emulating the way other countries have destroyed their democracies.
00:34:11.880And this is another piece of analysis that we put up on the Pulse yesterday.
00:34:15.240When they announced that J.G. Ballard's The Garden of Time was supposed to be the theme, and by the way, they kind of flipped on that theme in the last minute because nobody knew what the heck she was talking about, I decided to read that.
00:34:27.460But it's effectively about a horde of heaving and swearing masses that kind of descend on this Mozart-playing Palladian villa where this count and countess are living out the last days of their lives.
00:34:43.960And this was the perfect analogy, I thought.
00:34:46.100I mean, it kind of reminds you of the opening scene from The Camp of the Saints.
00:34:49.360It's the perfect analogy for mass migration, especially when the Met Gala is occurring, you know, with the barbarians just blocks away at Columbia University and the barbarians kind of tearing down the walls and the bike racks in front of the Met yesterday.
00:35:02.960I thought to myself, either this is really based from Anna Wintour or just the most monumental, you know, series of coincidences that has led us to the point where the theme of the Met Gala is effectively the barbarian hordes bearing down on the people who are trying to cling on to power and to cling on to their existence and to cling on to their civilization.
00:35:27.520You know, you know, it's falling through the through the gaps in their fingers.
00:35:31.600It was it was a horrible event, I think.
00:35:33.800And it really showed you the shallowness of the event, given the fact that most people read The Garden of Time and they just dressed up as flowers.
00:35:39.980But I think underlying it, you know, it's culture can be full of ironic moments like this is a very serious take on how.
00:37:34.060And she told me early on in the Trump administration that the parent company of her magazine prohibited them,
00:37:43.540all of the magazines under their ownership, prohibited them from putting Melania Trump on the cover or even as a feature on the inside of the magazine.
00:39:24.140So we've got to get you back on about the New York Times coming clean now about the National Guard.
00:39:31.220So in the Garden of Time, in order to rewind time and keep the hordes back from the villa, they have to snap these flowers, these time flowers.
00:39:51.800At the end, the only thing that is left are statues of the count and countess, and they're surrounded by the hordes who kind of usurp it and then move on like locusts.
00:40:05.400And isn't that just a perfect analogy for even just for what the Met Gala has become, right?
00:40:10.760The smashing of innocence, the allowing in of the Cardi Bs and the horrible dresses from once upon a time class and elegance into this horrible –
00:40:20.760Half of them were buck-necked, weren't they?
00:40:23.180I believe the Daily Mail – half of them were buck – as we say down south, were buck-necked.
00:40:28.820You know, I'm just repeating what I see in the Daily Mail.
00:40:31.820That's my level of sophistication when it comes to the high fashion.
00:40:35.280Raheem, how do people get to the National Pulse?
00:40:44.540Yeah, look, if you want to support our war against the establishment, from right here on Capitol Hill where I sit right now, it's thenationalpulse.com forward slash war room.
00:40:52.920The National Pulse dot com forward slash war room.
00:41:25.940So there were intelligence sources that were coming to me yesterday afternoon saying that there were – they believed, they had heard that there was an assassination attempt on MBS by the Persians, by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard about their support, potential support for Israel.
00:42:17.680For the government to actually dignify the rumor and deny it actually ratchets it up big time.
00:42:23.520It is – there's a lot of mystery and opaqueness swirling around this because, as you'll recall, toward the end of the Trump administration, as we had the Abraham Accords going and we were facilitating peace between Israel and so many Sunni Arab states, Bahrain, the UAE, peace was breaking out across the Middle East.
00:42:46.200And the region was much more stable thanks to President Trump's leadership and those around him like Secretary Mnuchin on the economic part of it and Secretary Pompeo working on the security part of it.
00:42:57.160But it was President Trump's vision to sideline the Palestinian issue, compartmentalize that, silo it, deal with that separately, but start making peace elsewhere between Israel and her traditional enemies.
00:43:10.780And knit together commercial relationships, business relationships, let prosperity overwhelm the naysayers.
00:43:18.580And a thousand flowers bloom throughout the region because economic integration then would lead to greater stability and more peace.
00:43:34.540Have you heard of cancer-fighting foods?
00:43:36.720Sometimes the American Cancer Society discovered diets rich in fruits and veggies may actually lower, let me repeat that, lower your risk of cancer.
00:43:47.320Now hopefully you're motivated enough to run out to the store and get five full servings of fruits and veggies.
