Transcript

New polling finds President Joe Biden and Donald Trump battling in every swing state,
00:00:07.260
but Biden making up significant ground from just last month.
00:00:10.960
In the latest Bloomberg Morning Consult poll, Trump leads in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina,
00:00:17.700
Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while Biden leads in Michigan.
00:00:22.080
But after the survey showed Trump up by eight points in Nevada last month,
00:00:28.980
Biden has also cut Trump's six-point lead in Georgia to three points
00:00:34.460
and his four-point lead in Wisconsin to just one point,
00:00:38.940
while making similar gains in Arizona and North Carolina.
00:00:42.600
All of these results, Joe, are within the margin of error.
00:00:47.620
Hi, Mika. I'm sorry. I feel like I'm not going to cheer you up
00:00:50.400
after those rather gloomy poll numbers that were getting you down earlier.
00:00:55.380
I mean, there are a couple of ways to look at this.
00:00:58.500
There's one way, which is to look at Donald Trump and this whole debate,
00:01:02.500
which, frankly, he started when he made those remarks, I think it was last year,
00:01:08.800
And we all go around in circles trying to figure out, you know,
00:01:12.560
look at what he actually did when he was in office last time around,
00:01:17.040
There are debates, good debates about what he'd really do.
00:01:20.180
But there's another way to look at that question, which is to depersonalize it
00:01:23.000
and to take Trump out of the picture and say, OK, if America were to elect somebody
00:01:28.460
who were both malign and competent, and I have real questions over whether Donald Trump
00:01:37.500
But were that to happen, how strong are the checks and balances?
00:01:39.780
And there, there's mixed news, I've got to say.
00:01:46.080
I mean, there are some really substantial checks on presidential authority.
00:01:50.860
If you look at how dictatorships have functioned elsewhere,
00:01:54.840
often a military coup is involved, that's impossible in America, I think.
00:01:58.520
You know, America's military is one of the strongest institutions in the country
00:02:05.140
But then I think it's also the case, you look at some of the formal checks on the presidency,
00:02:09.380
and one of the things we've learned since 2016 is that they just don't work.
00:02:13.380
You know, impeachment is one of the biggest checks written into the Constitution
00:02:19.380
And we've had ample proof over the past few years that that just doesn't work.
00:02:22.940
And then, if you look down the list, there are a whole bunch of emergency powers
00:02:26.560
that the president has, which somebody who is really determined, I think,
00:02:31.880
could exercise to subvert important democratic norms in quite a worrying way.
00:02:38.720
So, I'm not saying that Trump is going to do this, but I think somebody could.
00:02:44.440
Yeah, John, I think one of the things that Trump taught all of us
00:02:46.660
is that democracy is partly laws, and it's partly norms and traditions.
00:02:50.340
And if you have a candidate who's willing to ignore those norms and traditions,
00:02:54.960
One of the things that people talk about, and that Trump campaign talks about,
00:02:58.420
openly wanting to do, is under this provision of Schedule F, it's called,
00:03:02.980
taking a whole group of civil servants who are non-political
00:03:06.220
and making them effectively political appointees,
00:03:08.980
which could change America's democracy, not just for this presidency,
00:03:13.140
the next presidency, but presumably for years and years and years to come.
00:03:16.760
Do you think he, we hear that the Trump campaign is sort of more organized
00:03:24.140
Do you think it is up to the task of doing something like that,
00:03:27.760
and how much of a threat would that be to democracy?
00:03:30.420
It's definitely more organized than was the case prior to 2016.
00:03:36.100
I mean, I'm sure you've spoken to lots of the people I've spoken to,
00:03:38.500
Katie, in MAGA-aligned think tanks, and, you know,
00:03:43.400
But that said, the federal bureaucracy is a huge beast.
00:03:47.680
And, you know, you talk to people who've served in the White House,
00:03:51.580
served in the administration, getting it to do anything is quite tough.
00:03:55.660
There are, you know, 25,000-odd lawyers in the federal government.
00:04:00.020
And so a Trump administration could come in really well organized
00:04:04.560
with a really good, well, not good, but, you know, a determined, thorough plan.
00:04:08.800
And I think it would struggle to get all of these things done.
00:04:15.880
I don't think you can kind of wave a wand and make this stuff happen.
00:04:18.640
That said, you can undermine some really important norms,
00:04:24.400
So I guess, you know, you need to sort of calibrate your degree of alarmism.
00:04:30.740
I think George Washington had a staff of four when he was president.
00:04:35.040
The federal bureaucracy has obviously grown a huge amount
00:04:40.020
It was interesting, the clips of FDR that we were watching a little earlier, Mika.
00:04:47.660
Which is something that Donald Trump was sort of teasing us about the other day.
00:04:52.020
But the existence of that federal bureaucracy now,
00:05:10.320
And with many members of the Republican Party who do not adhere to norms
00:05:22.540
Do not respect, do not respect, do not respect.
00:05:40.880
Because we're going to medieval on these people.
00:05:44.680
Here's the reason I got a free shot at all these networks lying about the people.
00:05:52.540
I know you try to do everything in the world to stop that.
00:05:56.260
And where do people like that go to share the big lie?
00:06:01.220
I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
00:06:06.660
Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose?
00:06:10.420
If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved.
00:06:20.040
It's Wednesday, 22 May, Year of Our Lord, 2024.
00:06:28.760
We are absolutely packed today, as we know you like it.
00:06:34.460
Okay, just to do a slight reset here so you understand the field of battle.
00:06:43.660
You don't like it, baby, because you're losing.
00:06:45.580
Again, in your defense of the—and they're going to more and more extremes.
00:06:51.040
Why do we play—why do we make you eat your spinach first thing in the morning on a shrub?
00:06:56.980
Most shrubs would say, well, let's do something fun.
00:07:01.660
We either got Morning Mika or Rachel Maddow every day.
00:07:05.800
You have to understand where the leaders of the information war, where their generals are pointing.
00:07:14.420
And this is why Judge Cannon is really being such a hero here.
00:07:19.300
The documents she let out yesterday and Trump's team let out yesterday and Julie Kelly went through about this raid of Mar-a-Lago, which I don't care what people say, it was not a normal raid.
00:07:35.440
They had a plan of how to get to a trauma center.
00:07:39.900
All of it for a president of the United States on some archives issue, which will all come out, I think, June 27, 28, 29, in a federal court in Miami when they put Jack Smith on trial.
00:07:52.880
Robert Kagan, Victoria Nuland's husband, is the one that wrote the three or four or five thousand word piece back in January, February about Donald Trump as the new Caesar.
00:08:10.900
And that he made the moral justification about Brutus and how he set the moral justification for the assassination of Donald Trump because he is going to be the American Caesar.
00:08:24.460
Right there, you see, you know, all those folks, the deep, that's the deep state's propaganda department.
00:08:40.780
We're ahead of the game no matter what they try to do.
00:08:44.140
Nikki Haley trying to take over the delegates to the Republican National Convention.
00:08:50.660
But this Radio Mar-a-Lago coupled with this morning, this is now the, this is the cover, the Economist.
00:08:57.480
Remember, the Economist is the news magazines, the people magazine of the party of Davos, of the World Economic Forum, of Globalism, the Financial Times of London.
00:09:09.400
Good old Financial Times right here, always at the top of the stack, right?
00:09:16.180
Because that's the, that's, those are the big news sources for the globalists.
00:09:23.120
I mean, they think the New York Times is some provincial newspaper, right?
00:09:36.120
They are teeing up, understanding their defenses are crashing around them.
00:09:43.560
The federal cases, the state cases, they got to round up more people.
00:09:53.900
They're, they're putting it out into the public, the danger of Trump and the danger of the Trump movement.
00:10:01.320
Oh, by the way, that would be you, this audience.
00:10:04.980
They're, they're, they're putting this out there so they can justify what action they take later.
00:10:14.740
We don't care if you got the sad eyes and you're, you know, it's not working.
00:10:32.780
We're going to destroy the deep state and we're going to hold everybody responsible that put this republic in the situation it's in today.
00:10:46.680
The authority of Donald John Trump as the 47th president of the United States.
00:11:01.420
It's self-organizing at every level because people are disgusted.
00:11:08.060
They're repulsed by what you try to do this country.
00:11:20.760
This thing of Caesar and Trump, you're teeing up to have a moral justification for his assassination.
00:11:30.980
Oh, I was an FBI guy and this is just normal process.
00:11:33.340
He's a president of the United States and it's an archives issue.
00:11:50.500
I want if Grace and Moe could be so kind and Carly Bonet over at The Midnight Rider.
00:11:59.100
Liz Harrington, you've written a piece about this very topic, ma'am.
00:12:05.900
You know, one thing I have to disagree with is this actually is standard operating procedure for the FBI.
00:12:14.980
And they admitted in their statement and reaction to this that this is the normal operating procedure for all of our raids.
00:12:30.960
They've done it to countless people in this country.
00:12:34.300
And it takes President Trump to shine a light on all of this once again.
00:12:50.300
They come set this in motion, try to do it in secret.
00:12:56.220
But if I remember correctly, he was not supposed to be in New York that day.
00:13:05.460
So I think they were planning for President Trump to be there.
00:13:08.820
And they wanted something to happen because this is what they do.
00:13:17.380
They put trade advisers and leg irons at the airport in public and then throw them in prison.
00:13:23.800
They do pre-dawn raids and tip off CNN so you can watch it live.
00:13:28.500
How many associates, aides, lawyers have been raided by the FBI?
00:13:38.500
Yeah, you better believe it can happen because it's happening right now.
00:13:44.300
No matter how much they try to dress it up in suits, these are thugs.
00:13:51.860
And it's happening right here in the United States of America.
00:13:55.300
Thank God we still have some freedom and freedom of the press, and we're getting this information out.
00:14:02.600
And if you're just going to try to deny it, you're putting your head in the sand at this point.
00:14:11.300
We're dealing with a dictatorship right now, and we're going to overthrow it.
00:14:16.300
Dictatorship, deep state, administrative state.
00:14:19.820
Mika, your face is going to be a lot sadder on the morning you take to do the show on the 6th of November.
00:14:48.800
We have Major Bob is with us from her arraignment in Arizona.
00:15:02.340
Think about what you've put away for the future.
00:15:11.860
Economies built on a mountain of debt can fall like a house of cards.
00:15:15.540
There are very few physical assets you can invest in that can stand the test of time.
00:15:21.920
Gold has withstood this as a valued form of money for millennia.
00:15:26.760
I actually think for 8,000 years of man's recorded history.
00:15:35.000
Through a little known tax loophole, Birch Gold lets you convert a retirement account into a tax sheltered IRA in physical gold.
00:15:43.640
And the best part, it doesn't cost you a penny out of pocket.
00:15:50.240
To learn more about this, to immerse yourself in information, text Bannon, B-A-N-N-O-N, to 989898 and claim your free info kit on gold.
00:16:03.360
Can your IRA or 401k weather an economic storm because a storm's coming?
00:16:21.540
You've had no defections from the Republican right to trouble you.
00:16:39.740
You evaded my request for a denial that there is a Confederate peace offer
00:16:46.280
We are absolutely guaranteed to lose the whole thing.
00:16:55.780
The peace commissioners appear today or worse on the morning.
00:17:06.100
I can't accomplish a goddamn thing of any human meaning or worth
00:17:12.260
until we cure ourselves of slavery and end this pestilential war.
00:17:18.760
And whether any of you or anyone else knows it,
00:18:51.660
I am the president of the United States of America,
00:19:30.360
they call it the inherent powers of the constitution,
00:20:00.660
we're going to crease the numbers in the House.
