00:02:55.120Well, listen, I think a lot of these far-left loonies up here in the Assembly and the City Council, you know, they're scared.
00:03:01.880You know, these guys are, you know, they have their little fiefdoms.
00:03:04.400They never had any real political competition.
00:03:06.420And now you've got the big guy coming to town to step on their turf, and they're freaking out because they know if he gets a good showing today, which he will,
00:03:13.600it'll completely shatter their narrative about the Democrat Party, about urban politics, about this election, the trend line.
00:03:20.780So I think it speaks volumes that they're trying to shut down the event, that they're trying to shut down subways,
00:03:26.360which, based on the state of New York City infrastructure and this rain, I don't think they're going to have to do much to do that.
00:03:31.500But with that said, the fact that they're trying to shut things down shows that they're scared.
00:03:35.940I know they're trying to do another protest.
00:03:37.680I heard they were trying to do another protest yesterday.
00:04:15.320Put it in perspective of what's going to happen today.
00:04:17.460Oh, listen, I think, you know, today it just goes to show that President Trump is willing to expand the coalition, expand the tent, go to areas that Republicans have never dreamed of visiting.
00:04:29.140The last time a Republican visited here was Reagan in the 80s, and it was a disaster.
00:04:34.860But President Trump is showing that he's the only Republican, his populist, America First-style Republicanism is the only type of Republican politics that can expand the tent, reach new voters, reach new communities.
00:04:47.160And he's showing with his own actions that the Make America Great Again agenda applies to all Americans.
00:04:52.620It applies to Americans here in the South Bronx.
00:04:55.080It applies to Americans in Detroit, in the Rust Belt, big cities, small cities, urban, rural, blue, red, it doesn't matter.
00:05:05.360He wants to get more money in our pockets.
00:05:07.500He wants to bring down inflation and bring world peace back to the world stage.
00:05:12.800All of these things are in support of everyday Americans, all Americans, because it's not, you know, necessarily, you know, Bronx versus, you know, Red America, Blue America versus Red America.
00:06:58.780So, the Appeal to Heaven flag recently gained some notoriety because it also hangs out the office of the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson.
00:07:06.740Now, it's been around since revolutionary times, but over the past decade or so specifically, it has grown closely associated with the Christian nationalist movement, including the title of a book by a guy named Dutch Sheets.
00:07:20.480He's a Trump supporter, an election denier, one of the most influential Christian nationalists in the country.
00:07:25.940As one former Christian nationalist told PBS early this year, he helped turn the flag into a rallying symbol among right-wing groups in this country.
00:07:34.620The Appeal to Heaven flag goes back to the Revolutionary War, George Washington.
00:08:11.100And while I don't think it is quite as vile a symbol as the inverted flag flying over the wreckage of the sacked Capitol,
00:08:18.180still, I think it's fair to say an explicitly political statement, right?
00:08:22.980And unlike the first case where one can take a normal American flag and turn it upside down because you, I don't know, got into a fight with the neighbors, still working on that.
00:08:32.500In this case, Alito has to first acquire the Christian nationalist Appeal to Heaven flag and then take the action to fly it at his vacation home.
00:08:40.300Not so easy to explain away because you got into a tiff with another set of neighbors or to blame on your wife.
00:08:49.280This on its own would be cause for sanction for any federal judge who flew it.
00:08:53.580To be clear, if you're not in the Supreme Court and you did this, you'd get in a lot of trouble.
00:08:58.120Now, this time, Alito did not offer a statement to The New York Times.
00:09:01.040He clearly thinks he can get away with this and anything else, much like the ex-president who he seems to want to bail out of trouble.
00:09:07.700Alito believes he can act with total impunity.
00:09:11.740He thinks of himself as covered beneath the veneer of nonpartisan jurisprudence and protected by lifetime tenure and who's going to find enough Republican senators to impeach him.
00:09:23.180What this story reveals is what we've already known about Alito.
00:09:26.320He is indeed an ideological zealot and a flagrant partisan who puts his own personal politics before the law.
00:09:33.160And apparently he thinks so little of us, the American people, he does not even have the decency to pretend to hide it.
00:11:13.240This flimsy leftist stuff is actually setting up a recoil and they're scared of that recoil.
00:11:20.020They don't want the Judeo Christian West reasserting itself because the Judeo Christian West is a fair system.
00:11:29.160James Madison, who went to Princeton Seminary, set up the entire construction of our Constitution with minority rights for everyone.
00:11:37.080Every minority right ought to be protected.
00:11:39.160That does not get to mean, though, that a small minority, the 1 percent of the MSNBC news desk gets to determine reality for the majority of Americans.
00:13:07.380But they want to, but the interim, but the interim, they want to, they want, they want to force him to recuse himself from the Fisher decision and particularly from the immunity decision.
00:13:17.780Is that that their tactical play now is to try to get him off of those decisions.
00:13:34.400And it's funny, right, because so to stay with that.
00:13:37.560They want him to recuse right now to shrink the court, right, so that they get more liberals kind of on a, if it's an eight-person court, it's a seven-person court, they've been going after Justice Thomas.
00:13:46.360They get a better chance of winning in their mind of whatever these issues that are coming up are, right?
00:13:51.080The longer term is as they continue to raise questions about the court.
00:13:55.000Now, I just saw a poll that showed the court at 52 percent approval rating, okay, far above Congress, right?
00:14:00.120It's gone up, I think, 10 points in the past few months.
00:14:03.160But they want to then sort of say we need to pack the court and have a number of liberal justices that Biden would appoint if he wins a second term so that they get to, again, control the court.
00:16:25.940She had very negative opinions about Donald Trump and voiced them, right?
00:16:29.940And yet she did not recuse herself in Trump v. Mazur's or Trump v. Vance, the two 2020 cases in which the high court ruled against Trump both times.
00:16:40.060On the other hand, she was an ardent feminist and spoke before women's groups, women's rights groups often.
00:16:46.160But she did not recuse herself from United States v. Virginia.
00:16:51.180In fact, she wrote the ruling opinion in that case, striking down Virginia's law that restricted access to Virginia Military Academy Institute just to men.
00:17:01.780So we have a recent example to show that having political opinions, even about very current issues, does not disqualify a judge.
00:17:12.380And we can, contrary to what Congressman Cohen said just a minute ago, I was shocked when he said it, that Supreme Court has demonstrated that it can be very fair in deciding the law, even to Donald Trump.
00:17:28.140The court has already heard four cases involving Donald Trump and has ruled against Trump in the first three of those four.
00:17:37.540The fourth, of course, they ruled unanimously in Trump's favor because of the preposterous notion that he was disqualified by the 14th Amendment.
00:17:44.920But in the first three cases, he lost. And so the justices that have been appointed by Trump, Alito wasn't. Of course, he was appointed by Bush.
00:17:54.840These justices are doing their best to decide what the law is, regardless of their political opinions.
00:18:00.640One of the big distinctions here between Ruth Bader Ginsburg and what Justice Alito is dealing with is that in the case of the cases that are before the court now, that has to do with the very heart of the United States Constitution, the peaceful transfer of power and accountability for flouting that.
00:18:17.160We'll take a look at the two cases in 2020 regarding Trump. They did, too.
00:18:32.580Well, it is the same thing because, in fact, Ruth Bader Ginsburg had expressed as early as 2016 that she did not think Donald Trump should ever be president.
00:18:41.360She was very outspoken about it. And if we were to take the same standard of repusal and apply it to her, she would have flunked.
00:18:49.240The fact is the left is trying to jigger.
00:18:53.460In information warfare, that's a master class.
00:19:57.280And, you know, I've been writing on this stuff, Steve, for several years now, ever since he started going after Justice Thomas and the insane unhinged attack on him forever.
00:20:05.640But particularly kind of after the 2020 election and going after his wife, Ginny.
00:20:10.240So, yes, and I direct your viewers to markpaoletta.com, where I have about 50 op-eds, about with all of these examples.
00:20:18.680Ruth Bader Ginsburg, you know, people say, oh, she's off the court.
00:20:29.400She not only, as she said, appeared before women's groups.
00:20:33.320She had a lecture named after her that she spoke at, the NARAL Women's Conference.
00:20:39.480She donated, right, that VMI opinion that Betsy was talking about.
00:20:44.920She donated that signed opinion for an auction to raise money for now.
00:20:52.660A Supreme Court justice donating an opinion to raise money for a pro-abortion group.
00:20:58.720And guess what? Nobody, nobody says, I think you should recuse from these cases going forward on abortion or when now or NARAL appear before you.
00:21:07.320So, you know, I also uncovered that she had received an award from the Women's Democrat National Party, the Eleanor Roosevelt Award.
00:21:15.660And guess who emceed the event? Nina Totenberg.
00:21:19.420OK, never reported on until I came upon a website of this group and showing her receiving this Democrat award.
00:21:27.200So if you look at the Democrat platform, abortion on demand.
00:22:48.880And, in fact, the Mazar case, which is on the Trump taxes, the district court judge ruled against, against President Trump in 20, I think it was 2019.
00:24:59.780So to lob fascism at the feet of the Judeo-Christian West and attack us for being the bad guys,
00:25:06.540when we preserved the Constitution, minority rights, and fought against Hitler, a great Judeo-Christian accomplishment against the fascist forces.
00:26:24.600Yeah, Steve, you and I went through the process of interviewing justices, and, you know, it's interesting, right, that she stayed until 2020,
00:26:36.840and then President Trump got to appoint Amy Barrett to the court.
00:26:43.700I also found, I look back at this Adam Liptak story on Ginsburg in 2016,
00:26:50.220and one of the things she talked about was there was a case called Fisher that had come down that term in 2016
00:26:56.020that upheld race-based affirmative action in colleges, and she said, quote,
00:27:01.380that's a decision built to last, and, you know, a couple short years later, because of President Trump's appointments,
00:27:09.460and led by Justice Thomas, who's been doing this for 30, 32 years, they wiped out Fisher in the Harvard case,
00:27:16.800so her prediction was spectacularly wrong about it.
00:27:20.680So, yeah, she's a little farmer there, trashing President Trump, really going out of her way,
00:27:25.480just really, I think it's the most unethical act in modern times of a Supreme Court justice,
00:27:30.280and there were articles praising her for using her political capital to go after Trump
00:27:36.980and try and stop him from being in the White House.
00:52:36.160Just go to the site and look at what your compadres are saying for the endorsement, how it's changed their life with the boom, energy boost.
