Rasmussen Polling s founder Mark Mitchell explains why polls are not as accurate as they appear to be, and why the Democratic primary race is not as close as they seem to think it is. Plus, why did the aggregate polling numbers for the Democratic presidential candidates start to rise in mid-August?

00:02:11.000And give us a sense of how we detect the truth in the polling industry.
00:02:19.000I think nobody should be surprised to hear right now that Trump is up.
00:02:23.000And looking at polls, you know, I think polls are important all the time.
00:02:27.000But it's true that January, February, March leading up to a presidential cycle, the polls aren't going to be as dialed in as they are in election season because voters aren't paying attention.
00:02:37.000A different mix of people answer the polls.
00:02:39.000That entire time we had Trump up five or ten.
00:02:42.000And in that period, some of the other pollsters agreed with us.
00:02:46.000We had CNN and Bloomberg and New York Times having similar huge Trump leads.
00:02:51.000But then when the debate happened, everybody got jerked into political reality all at once.
00:02:57.000And there's a little period in the beginning of July where I think we saw what the race was going to be.
00:03:04.000We had a major national poll that had Trump up three.
00:03:08.000The RealClearPolitics aggregate had Trump up three.
00:03:12.000Everybody has said for years that Kamala Harris doesn't have substance.
00:03:19.000And now we still have Trump up the new numbers this morning, four.
00:03:25.000But Kamala Harris in the RealClearPolitics aggregate is now up by almost one point.
00:03:31.000So why did the aggregate jerk left in the last month?
00:03:35.000It really is a question everybody should be asking because, in my opinion, it doesn't fit the fundamentals of a race where the issue set favors Trump, where the Democrat candidate is perceived to be incompetent or whatever you want to mentally incompetent or just professionally incompetent.
00:03:54.000And so where's the theory, the strategy of why Kamala Harris is winning now?
00:04:00.000The only thing I can come up with is either a mix of very unscrupulous polling or even more underhanded tactics in my opinion, which is that I think the industry is carrying water for the Democrats by ducking and running.
00:04:15.000I will say Kamala Harris did have a little bit of a bounce in our numbers.
00:04:19.000There were a couple of nights where she was actually beating Donald Trump back when she was anointed, when everybody was considering her, when Obama came out and endorsed her.
00:04:28.000But in our numbers, that bounce is gone and the race is right back to where it was with Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
00:04:35.000Now, what you've seen in the mainstream media and the polling organizations that are extensions of those corporations is an utter lack of curiosity.
00:04:47.000In the first 13 days of August, there were only 28 state polls put out in the last 13 days of July.
00:04:54.000There were 73 in the last week and a half.
00:04:57.000There were more there were less national general election polls in the real clear politics aggregate than there were in any equivalent time in April, May or June.
00:05:07.000So a lot of these pollsters really looked like they went into the field, got a positive Kamala Harris bounce and then said, hey, why why do we need a poll again?
00:05:18.000In fact, the news cycle seemed so starved of material that it allowed things like New York Times Siena to drop a very selected and limited set of three swing states happened to be Donald Trump's worst swing states into last Sunday's news cycle.
00:05:36.000And of course, everybody was running around with their hair on fire about that.
00:05:39.000Now, all of a sudden, we're starting to see new polling and even the polling I'm seeing is starting to raise questions.
00:05:46.000Like there were problems a week or two ago when Reuters Ipsos went into the field and showed Trump beating Biden by a point.
00:05:53.000But then the following week showed Kamala Harris beating Trump by two or three points.
00:05:58.000But it turns out that there was a major shift internally in their Democrat weightings.
00:06:02.000There's been stuff like that going on.
00:06:04.000Then there's all this attention that Cook got in the big poll, the swing state poll they released yesterday.
00:06:31.000And in my numbers, they look pretty much like they did a month ago, which makes sense because most Trump people are voting for Trump or against the Democrats.
00:06:40.000And most Democrats are voting to save democracy from Trump.
00:08:27.000But where are the American people on some of these hot button issues, the economy, the never ending wars, the assassination, the border invasion?
00:08:38.000I think Americans are pretty dialed in on the election and not much else.
00:08:42.000And because of that, I think on the right there's a lot of questions about what's happening in the mainstream media.
00:08:47.000But as far as the issues go, these numbers are from after Kamala got anointed, Kamala, whatever.
00:08:53.000Will her economic policies be better or worse than Biden's?
00:08:56.000Only 22 percent said better, 38 percent said worse.
00:08:59.000But Trump, 51 percent said his policies would be better than Biden's, 38 percent said worse.
00:09:05.000So a massive advantage that Donald Trump has on the economy, which is the number one issue.
00:09:10.000Also, we hear her getting incredibly bad marks on her job as the borders are.
00:09:15.000She's not going to be able to run from those kind of things.
00:09:18.000But also the new issue that we have developing is there's problems in the Middle East, potential Iran attack.
00:09:24.000New numbers this week also that showed that Donald Trump has a lower double digit lead on the issue of the Middle East, which is tough for her because Joe Biden's always done better on national security and foreign policy than it looks like she's going to do.
00:09:38.000So that's their problem is there's very little substance to this campaign.
00:09:42.000They haven't even put out agenda points yet.
00:09:45.000They are not going to be able to carry out this media sugar high all the way to November.
00:09:49.000But it looks like they're going to try and it looks like the polling industry is going to help them.
00:09:54.000Yeah, no, it's it's very clear the the mainstream media establishment is now part of the state apparatus, at least when it comes to the when you just see everybody using the same quotes.
00:10:06.000I mean, that is the receipts, right? That is the evidence.
00:10:09.000That's what's going on. Anything out there yet?
00:10:12.000I mean, I'm fascinated. Right. This Judeo Christian piece, the the leftist shows.
00:10:19.000Joy Reid had the evangelicals now are coming toward the left. Right.
00:10:24.000This is fascinating to me. Catholics, et cetera.
00:10:29.000It's fascinating for a few reasons. Right. One, we have receipts coming from, you know, Foreign Relations Committee, Congressman Scott Perry, China receipts to the Biden bank accounts.
00:10:40.000Right. So this this is not, you know, theory anymore. These are facts.
00:10:44.000And then underneath that, Kamala's dad was a Marxist economic professor. That's a fact.
00:10:51.000Walt's made 30 trips to China. And now Congress is holding hearings and asking the, you know, joint chief staff generals, how did he do 30 trips to China when he's in the armed forces?
00:11:04.000He was supposed to ask for permission at a minimum and didn't. Is any of this stuff starting to show up in the polling?
00:11:12.000Yeah, that's that's a lot to look at. I will say we've known for a long time that everybody thinks that Joe Biden, you know, numbers in the low 60s.
00:11:20.000It was at least somewhat likely that he profited from companies in overseas China and knew about his son's deals.
00:11:26.000The problem is, is the laser pointer works. The media laser pointer absolutely 100 percent works about the religion numbers.
00:11:35.000Now, these numbers are from back in July, but we we've been interested in that.
00:11:39.000And Trump does a heck of a lot better among evangelical Christians.
00:11:43.000And this one particular poll, which was pretty pro Trump, evangelicals went Trump 66 percent to 30 percent, which is absolutely incredible.
00:11:53.000You know, the mainline Protestant numbers were a lot closer, but Trump still won.
00:11:59.000And it's every everything else. Right. Atheist, Jewish, Muslim, which went to Biden 51 to 35 percent.
00:13:57.000But Jenny Beth goes way back in the conservative Tea Party movement.

00:19:39.200So I can't say all this is happening exactly where the campaign laws prohibit that.
00:19:44.220But we are taking action, and we're all working to win the White House for Trump, to hold the House, and to win the Senate.
00:22:06.180The vice president, Harris, is going to give a speech in Raleigh this week, and she's going to talk about price controls, price controls on grocery stores.
00:23:11.140I've adopted a more public persona because I believe this is our last chance to grow our way out of this and not become a European-style social democracy.

00:23:46.940And so, you know, you might be able to excuse that off-the-cuff remark, but, Scott, and any economist knows there's only one cause of inflation, and that's the Federal Reserve printing too much money.

00:24:01.200And so, as Royce White said so eloquently, they're lying.
00:24:43.160In a strong economy, you know, 0.2 percent, okay, you know, it's not great, but it shouldn't bring the stock market and the world economy to its knees.

00:24:54.800But if you stripped out, you know, the $7 trillion that's still on the Federal Reserve balance sheet, and if you stripped out the $2 trillion in deficit spending, how strong is our economy for real?
00:25:06.040And how do you really make our economy great again if you're in charge of the Treasury or you're giving counsel to the president?

00:38:14.480You know, a lot of you know my story of service, and a lot of you don't, so just talk a little bit about my service in the United States Marine Corps, what it meant to me, and how it transformed me.

00:38:25.200Of course, we're the loudest and the most obnoxious, of course.
00:38:28.620That's what we bring to the United States military.
00:38:30.340I've been traveling around with four soldiers and a sailor, and, you know, that's like the beginning of a bad joke, I think.
00:38:38.620Four soldiers, a sailor, and a Marine walking to VFW post-92.
00:38:42.600Well, let me just say a few things about that service.
00:38:46.100So I was so fortunate to have the Marine Corps play a transformative role on my entire life.
00:38:52.400I was in a lot of ways a troubled kid, a directionless kid, and the Marine Corps really changed who I was.
00:38:57.480Now, the mamaw, the grandmother who raised me, was not excited about me joining the United States Marine Corps, enlisting right out of high school.
00:39:05.260She loved the Marines, and she was proud of this country and proud of what the Marines fought for.
00:39:09.780But like a lot of parents and grandparents of a lot of young people, remember, this was April of 2003 when I enlisted.
00:39:17.260We had just invaded Iraq a month before, and she was worried about my safety.
00:39:22.460And I remember when the Marine Corps recruiter, I believe his name was Staff Sergeant Crafton, he was from the south because he had that real deep southern accent.
00:39:29.640Staff Sergeant Crafton came to our house, and my mamaw said, if you step one foot on my porch, I will blow it off.
00:39:36.280And as nervous as I was about going to boot camp, I went to boot camp in September of 2003 in Parris Island.
00:39:41.880And my recruiter said, listen, as tough as those Marine Corps drill instructors are, they've got nothing on that grandma of yours.
00:39:48.500So I was prepared in many ways for Marine Corps boot camp.
00:39:51.800But it really did have a transformative effect on my life.
00:39:55.780And I know that all of us who serve share this common bond of this is our home.
00:40:19.500So I think that, you know, the Marines have a lot going for them.
00:40:24.600And I honor every member of every branch of our armed forces.
00:40:28.560But the one thing that I think the Marines really do well is we have the best motto.
00:40:32.000I have a favorite motto of the U.S. military.
00:40:35.240And, of course, I'm biased with Semper Fidelis, always faithful, right?
00:40:38.540You hear Marines say it all the time, Semper Fi.
00:40:40.900And to me, what it means is that Marines are always faithful to our country and to our brothers and sisters in arms.
00:40:46.680But it also has another meaning, which is that we always have to be faithful to all of the members of our military who serve this country and did so honorably.
00:40:55.800And you heard Jim Banks talk about this a little bit.
00:40:58.220And I want to expound upon it because I really do think that Donald Trump exemplifies that motto because his government and under his leadership, the United States, was always faithful to the veterans of this country.
00:41:10.940And that's something for us to be proud of.
00:41:12.900His record and his vision is a vision of always being faithful to those who put on the uniform.
00:41:33.960I received a lot of health care at the VA, especially in the few years after I got out of the Marine Corps.
00:41:39.480But we also know that sometimes the VA has those long backlogs, right?
00:41:43.700You spend a little bit too long on the phone.
00:41:45.720Maybe if you're trying to get a disability claim, it takes a little bit longer.
00:41:49.240Well, Donald Trump's leadership cut down on those disability backlogs.
00:41:54.880And when you had veterans who were unable to get health care because sometimes things were just a little too backed up, he promoted veteran choice, especially for our veterans living in rural areas.
00:42:05.500I happen to think that those who put on a uniform and serve those country, we've got to be always faithful to them.
00:42:11.240And if they need to see a doctor, we've got to promote veterans' choice to give them that ability to see a doctor.
00:42:19.240And I think this administration that we have now, Kamala Harris, and now Tim Walz has joined the ticket.
00:42:28.740And by the way, I want to say we've got a great Congressman Walz here with a T who has not lied about his service.
00:42:36.020And so everybody who's calling him, complaining about Tim Walz, this is the good Walz with a T.
00:42:41.620It's Walz with a Z that we're going to criticize later today.
00:42:45.040But I want to talk not about Tim Walz right now.
00:42:47.940I want to talk about what the Harris administration has done to fail these veterans.
00:42:53.960They've actually tried to cut back on veterans' choice in health care.
00:42:59.240The disability backlog has gotten worse.
00:43:02.180Wait times at our VA have gotten worse.
00:43:05.000The veteran suicide problem is still terrible.
00:43:07.460And Kamala Harris wants to give Medicare and health benefits to illegal aliens.
00:43:13.120She wants to give first-class hotel accommodations to our illegal aliens.
00:43:17.120We've got 300,000 veterans who are homeless in this country right now.
00:43:22.160Let's take care of them first and leave the illegal aliens to their home countries.
00:43:26.460Always faithful is not allowing your veterans to sleep on park benches and under bridges while you bring in millions of illegal aliens and put them in the front of the line on health care and lodging and our veterans.
00:43:44.460And that's exactly what this administration has done.
00:43:46.700So I just want to make a simple pitch to veterans and to everybody who loves veterans or cares for veterans in this country, but especially here in Western PA.
00:43:56.280We have got to get back to a presidency that looks after veterans.
00:44:00.480We've got to get back to a presidency that is always faithful to the service of our veterans.
00:44:05.060We have got to get back to the presidency of Donald J. Trump.
00:44:08.920He did it already, and he's going to do it again if we give him another opportunity.
00:44:12.120Let's take care of our veterans and not leave them.
00:44:52.860And, of course, my dear friend, who I believe, Jim, correct me if I'm wrong, a lot of your family came from Breath of County, Kentucky, too.

00:47:26.820But to those who haven't served and are watching this now, I can appreciate that you might not understand why America's veterans across the political spectrum are standing up to sound the alarm about Tim Walz.
00:47:43.380I can appreciate how you might look fondly on his 20-plus years of service in the National Guard.
00:47:49.420And I understand why it can seem like nitpicking when our veteran community reads his words and we scream stolen valor.
00:48:04.020Without serving and deploying, I might not get it either.
00:48:08.260But I'm hoping that at the very least, by the time that I sit down here today, you'll understand why we are so passionate in our united voice that Tim Walz is a coward who betrayed his men at their greatest time of need
00:48:25.760and is not fit to serve the United States of America as vice president and is not fit to serve the United States of America as vice president.
00:48:36.760I want to start by sharing a story from my time in service about leadership.
00:48:41.760As a young lieutenant, I was called into a senior leader's office, and everybody here knows that's a place you don't want to be.
00:48:48.760But as he addressed me for the first time, I looked around and took stock of all the hard-earned mementos and memorabilia that were hanging on his wall of his office of a man that had served 20-plus years in the Army.
00:49:03.760And as he asked me questions, something that was on his desk caught my eye.
