Bannon's War Room - Episode 4664： Trump Throws Down On Putin; Trump Opens Trade Deal With China

00:00:00.000 this is the primal scream of a dying regime pray for our enemies because we're going medieval on

00:00:10.640 these people here's not got a free shot all these networks lying about the people the people have

00:00:17.240 had a belly full of it i know you don't like hearing that i know you try to do everything

00:00:21.000 the world to stop that but you're not going to stop it it's going to happen and where do people

00:00:24.580 like that go to share the big line mega media i wish in my soul i wish that any of these people

00:00:32.400 had a conscience ask yourself what is my task and what is my purpose if that answer is to save my

00:00:40.340 country this country will be saved war room here's your host stephen k band

00:00:47.560 monday 28 july europe our lord 2025 man was that a quick first hour

00:00:54.600 this is so much so much going on president trump in europe um in scotland at turnberry heading now up

00:01:04.840 to northern scotland we're gonna get josh pettit not this morning because we're too slammed but

00:01:09.120 hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow morning to talk about president trump's other developments

00:01:12.520 his great love not just for the game but also for um also for uh scotland uh i do believe you're

00:01:21.160 going to hear an announcement about turnberry going back in the open championship roto which is quite

00:01:25.800 close to president trump's heart um josh pettit kind of broke that on saturday on the show saturday yeah

00:01:32.140 saturday um birch got two things number one jim records you like uh national security intelligence

00:01:40.520 capital markets geopolitics and also financial talks about the markets actually they also talk

00:01:48.280 about individual stocks give you an idea jim records records war room dot com strategic

00:01:54.760 intelligence is the newsletter kind of what i call a c-suite read chairman and ceos get the inside

00:02:02.280 baseball they get strategic intelligence by going to records war room dot com he also throws in a free

00:02:07.560 book money gpt which is about artificial intelligence and currency jim records great

00:02:15.480 guy also take your phone out if you haven't gotten the ultimate guide for investing gold and silver

00:02:20.280 from birch gold uh get it it's quite uh succinct gives you an idea also puts you in contact with

00:02:26.040 philip patrick team and that's really what you need to do you need to build a relationship with the

00:02:30.120 birch gold guys it's not the price of gold it's the process of how it gets there find out what's been

00:02:34.440 a hedge for five thousand years a man's recorded history birch gold dot com slash warm the end of

00:02:40.600 the dollar empire also take your phone out bannon nine eight nine eight nine eight to get the uh

00:02:46.120 free guide uh text that the latter ben harnwell thank you for hanging around uh in that uh and so

00:02:53.640 the breitbart interview i think will start to come up tonight matt always does a great job with that

00:02:57.160 president trump for two hours took him took all comers on the from the press starmer sitting there

00:03:04.680 going because you just never see world figures do this obviously the eu deal and i think lutnik was

00:03:10.840 on tv the letters are going out they've got 60 percent of the gdp right now uh besant's in stockholm

00:03:17.640 for two days monday tuesday he's coming back they're going to the breitbart uh event on wednesday we're

00:03:23.560 going to stream that uh that's a one-on-one with matt in the secretary of treasury uh but that would

00:03:29.320 be i don't know pretty near the the rest of it you still got a couple of countries out there i don't

00:03:34.600 think we've announced the india deal yet but president trump is making far greater progress

00:03:39.320 than anybody ever thought in reorganizing the world's commercial relationships particularly

00:03:44.600 with the united states and hey as we said back in the beginning he's charging a premium to get through

00:03:49.000 the golden door you got two choices to bring manufacturing here or if you're going to ship

00:03:53.640 it in here you're going to pay a premium and so um you got a choice and a lot of people are taking

00:04:00.360 parts of both but he did drop a bomb today and this is about the ukraine situation we have two things

00:04:06.360 heating up that we kind of warned about the netanyahu situation in gaza i think finally they've

00:04:12.440 come to a conclusion because they've been doing these massive kind of you know they have a strategy

00:04:17.240 then they go another strategy i think there's a consensus at least with netanyahu they got to

00:04:21.400 take care of the muslim brotherhood and they have to do it now regardless of the hostages uh and i

00:04:27.080 think you're hearing that they're going to rev that up but over in the ukraine and this for all these

00:04:32.200 guys running around all these panicans they don't you know they keep wondering about the third world

00:04:35.880 third world war is here the killing fields of the third world war are here and uh bloodier than they

00:04:42.200 were at the beginning of the second world war because that built her crescendo we're kind of starting

00:04:47.000 with the crescendo uh ben harnwell uh he basically told putin there was a strike last night by ukraine

00:04:56.200 deep into russian territory and russia's been pounding a kiev every day uh zelinski is under a

00:05:03.960 ton of pressure uh as we have been doing everything we can to support those folks in ukraine that want

00:05:09.880 to have an accounting for the money and the corruption and the grift and all of it uh but president trump

00:05:15.160 dropped a bomb that putin's got i don't know 10 or 12 days to make his mind up here uh which is kind

00:05:21.480 of scary right uh but the the eu deal really guts a lot of russia's ability to uh to sell cheap energy

00:05:30.440 because the deal has almost a trillion dollars i think of energy purchases from the united states

00:05:35.800 your assessment from rome sir i think it's 750 um a billion dollars over the course of the the rest of

00:05:45.320 this um administration um which is a huge look just i'm not going to talk about the tariff trade deal

00:05:50.840 but what donald trump has done is absolutely fantastic and amazing um and it hasn't really

00:05:55.960 cost the united states very much at all um macron uh has been hit hardest where with regards to the

00:06:04.920 french agricultural um export industry um but basically the europeans just wanted to fold and

00:06:10.520 give in they didn't want a trade war and they haven't particularly been required to um to demand

00:06:17.480 of america that much it was a pretty one-sided negotiation and i have to say president trump

00:06:23.240 handled it absolutely amazingly i will just draw this point because nigel farage mentioned it at the

00:06:27.720 beginning of the show that when donald trump uh went out the protests were hardly uh negligent

00:06:33.560 this time around in this administration compared to um to 10 years ago um and he's all and nigel 0.83

00:06:40.440 farage also said that there's been a turnaround in how the brits view donald trump i just want to

00:06:46.120 point out these trade concessions obviously the uk is no longer part of the eu so we'll have a

00:06:52.040 different um hopefully more beneficial arrangement but however that works out it's actually it will hit us

00:06:57.560 um in continental europe and the uk what donald trump is doing and yet people here like donald trump

00:07:05.720 even though he's objectively making our lives much more difficult and i'd like just to throw the reason

00:07:11.560 out is that they see in donald trump a leader that is putting here the interest of his people first

00:07:18.440 that's what they want to see from their own governments they're not really seeing it uh but

00:07:22.440 they respect that even to their own detriment um just just to close brackets on that there is

00:07:29.880 something coming out of ukraine and it is interesting hang on hang on hang on ho ho slow down i can't

00:07:36.360 this is what i was talking about uh nigel they they're pulling at 34 which is is really what the tories

00:07:42.360 the two parties have been around for one for 200 years the other for 100 uh combined barely with nigel 1.00

00:07:50.520 because they look at his constancy and his strength of putting his country first this is what i mean

00:07:57.480 chris chris matthews said the smartest thing over the weekend of everybody he said hey i don't care

00:08:01.720 about some of these polling seeds losing independence on some of these topics they said people are attracted

00:08:06.040 to strength particularly today in in a world in chaos and in trump is a tower of strength you may not

00:08:12.440 like everything you get but you realize he's always putting the country's interests first is that what

00:08:17.800 the nigel's drafting off of is that what people are looking for even in europe sir yeah it is it is it 0.99

00:08:24.120 absolutely is that um and just to give chris matthews credit for once um on his analysis here you can see

00:08:31.320 the pivot that the mainstream media is belatedly making because this idea of a strong man was pejorative

00:08:40.680 in the mouths of the liberal progressive elites for the last 20 years that is how they really wanted

00:08:46.200 to signal um in addition to the descriptor far right but they really wanted to indicate to people

00:08:53.320 that they're not allowed to like someone they called them a strong man and here you have chris

00:08:57.960 matthews coming out saying that they are attractive people are attracted to donald trump because he

00:09:02.440 represents strength and what's not said but of course you can back project is that is the comparison with

00:09:08.920 the with the guy um with the guy that donald trump replaced joe biden who i don't think did i mean

00:09:15.480 donald trump did two hours worth of interviews with matt boyle earlier i don't think joe biden did

00:09:20.920 two hours worth of interviews added together over the whole four years and that's just like

00:09:27.080 no no he took no he took two no he took two hours of questions in a press avail today with starmer there

00:09:33.720 he had another hour with matt boyle beforehand so three hours an hour with boyle then he took two

00:09:39.000 hours of just a press avail taking every question you know every question they can ask him the cheap

00:09:44.120 shot questions and the tough ones you don't see anybody i mean forget biden you you don't see anybody

00:09:49.960 in the world that can do that um ben on and and handle all the topics in in fairly you know fairly in

00:09:56.680 in depth and give a sophisticated and nuanced approach to it sir well look i tell you this when

00:10:03.320 i come on this show and i speak for five or ten minutes i spend all morning and i'm obviously six

00:10:08.680 hours ahead of you guys in america i spend all morning preparing my notes just to be able to speak

00:10:12.920 for five minutes it's an it's an indication of donald trump's the command that he has of the detail

00:10:19.160 to be able to hold basically three hours worth back to back of in-depth questions um so freely

00:10:26.760 folks that's a very difficult thing to do and people say his detractors say that donald trump

00:10:31.000 doesn't read briefing notes not interested in the detail anyone who wants to make that argument i defy

00:10:36.360 you to go in into a press pool and take three hours worth of questions back to back uh without notes

00:10:43.240 without sort of tip-offs of what the question you know that's the difference the the democrats biden was

00:10:48.680 always tipped off what the questions were going to be um donald trump sits there and he'll take all

00:10:53.160 questions and he'll respond um and i think that just shows an incredible command of the situation

00:10:59.640 command of detail and that you know having that sense of command is why he's able when he puts his

00:11:05.560 mind to it to determine and dictate the agenda let's go to this uh the quite controversial throw

00:11:14.920 down with putin and say hey look upon further review it ain't 40 days left of the 50 it's going

00:11:20.600 to be 10 to 12. your thoughts well having having spoken so generously um 30 seconds ago look i'm

00:11:30.200 against this i have to say um and one of the reasons i'm against this in addition to the motives i say

00:11:35.960 every time i come on this show steve is this you know when i was reading this this statement like 10 20

00:11:42.200 minutes or so ago because it's literally come out since we've been on air donald trump is now more

00:11:50.600 invested you know we said for months he's got to be careful he's going to get dragged in he's going

00:11:55.160 to become associated with this war in ukraine he's going to take but it's going to be his war people 0.79

00:12:00.440 are going to stop and even though he continues to say it's biden's war people are going to start

00:12:04.680 considering it to be trump's war it's gone beyond that now he is more invested personally with his name

00:12:11.800 his reputation in the outcome of this war than joe biden was at any point um in the two years when

00:12:18.760 he was still in the white house it's very dangerous what's taking place now and all the signals coming

00:12:25.240 out of the kremlin when donald trump first came out with his 50-day throwdown all the signals are is

00:12:31.000 that they basically just blew him off publicly said we don't care you know he can do what he wants

00:12:35.240 we're not going to try and escalate the situation but obviously america president trump can do

00:12:39.480 do what he wants he's continuing to to escalate this i don't see i could be wrong i i'm i'm wrong

00:12:45.400 all the time but i don't see any indication that from the russians that they're going to

00:12:51.720 crumple here on this and in terms of threats of secondary tariffs which is good which are going to

00:12:57.400 hit the very people that i think that donald trump is actually trying to cultivate india for example and

00:13:03.240 in the european union who is the country that trades most with russia it's victor all bands

00:13:09.160 at hungary these are guys that donald trump needs to to continue to build very strong relationship with

00:13:15.640 especially india with regards to the the bricks dynamic we'll see how it take how it rolls out but

00:13:21.400 there is you know after the break see if i do have something coming up here on ukraine which i will

00:13:25.800 highlight because it is an indication of how donald trump is being and america is being dragged further

00:13:32.840 into this war in ukraine perfect stick around we got ben harnell orrin cass you talk about uh the

00:13:41.720 part of the world's economy that we still have to kind of wrangle that's the chinese communist party of

00:13:47.240 course our favorite scott besant our former contributor here is in stockholm even as we speak

00:13:53.160 trying to hammer out uh move the ball downfield on that orrin cass from compass has put together a

00:14:00.760 letter to let the president and people in capitol hill know that there's certain situations going on

00:14:07.560 with these advanced chips that may not be to the advantage of the united states of america and it may

00:14:12.600 be a good time to think about it as we negotiate this deal orrin cass will join us i would get ben

00:17:02.680 compass and or is this kind of rising generation of populist nationalist thinkers public intellectuals

00:17:07.880 economist he runs compass the great magazine and website everybody should go check it out

00:17:13.720 so orrin this morning um there's a huge story in the financial times i don't think it's in the

00:17:18.440 my print edition i think it's only online from one of the smartest guys in dc that that covers the

00:17:24.040 white house for um financial times headline donald trump freezes export controls to secure trade deal

00:17:31.560 with china uh you've been kind of ahead of this because you've written this letter i want to get

00:17:37.560 to the letter get what those heavyweights you brought onto this have uh are worried about and

00:17:44.360 i want to put in the context that besant is in stockholm right now trump just announces the eu deal

00:17:51.080 matt bulls on here saying hey right now he's got 60 percent of the world's economy under some sort of

00:17:55.320 new and some of his just heads of terms or terms agree but they're hammering out the details the two

00:18:01.720 big pieces i think we got to go are um are um china and india um but you're saying hey we got a big

00:18:11.000 problem here deals with artificial intelligence the future of really the the drivers of the world economy

00:18:16.280 walk us through both the article in this letter and what your concerns are and the concerns of

00:18:22.440 people you've brought into this uh debate sir yeah thanks for having me on to talk about this i think

00:18:28.200 it's a it's a super important issue uh i want to credit americans for responsible innovation was

00:18:33.400 did a lot of the work on this bringing the letter together we were very proud to to partner with them

00:18:38.120 from american compass and and they got a lot of leading national security guys and gals folks folks

00:18:43.480 from the first trump administration in a lot of cases to call attention to this this really

00:18:48.280 important problem we're having uh with china in particular i i think you just described things

00:18:53.320 well trump administration is making just huge progress on these trade deals with with countries

00:18:58.680 that should be our allies with countries we do want to be trading with the question is what to do

00:19:03.080 about china and and i think you know the end game here is we don't need to deal with china china 1.00

00:19:08.600 china is our adversary china china is not a country we want to be you know trading with and and trying 1.00

00:19:15.000 to support uh but what the trump administration has done very recently is attempt to uh essentially

00:19:23.320 give the green light to selling very advanced ai chips to china um there it's interesting question

00:19:30.520 why they're doing this i think it's because there are a lot of folks in the administration who do want

00:19:34.760 to get a deal with china but as we lay out in this letter it's it's a huge mistake it is it is a mistake

00:19:41.720 to think that we can make a deal with china it is a mistake to think hey if we get our chips into china 0.94

00:19:46.920 we'll you know then then that's great they'll start using our technology that is that is the game china has 0.94

00:19:52.440 played with america over and over again and we always lose and the other reality is there's just

00:19:57.560 there's a shortage of ai chips every ai chip we sell to china is one less ai chip that we have

00:20:03.400 here in america so we're going to be simultaneously speeding up china's progress we're going to be

00:20:08.360 slowing our progress and frankly the the winner here is nvidia you know nvidia is a multinational

00:20:14.600 corporation they they make great chips but they've made it very clear that uh they are much more

00:20:19.560 interested in making profit in china than they are in the american national interest and and so i think

00:20:24.680 this is a perfect example where where president trump where the administration need to stand up and say

00:20:29.160 no we aren't going to do this to send our technology to china thing anymore we're we're

00:20:34.680 going to focus on america just for full disclosure uh of course in the war room myself personally in

00:20:41.960 the war room and american compass and yourselves and i think some of the other there's two schools of

00:20:46.840 thought coupling and decoupling i i would say charitably we're in the decoupling school of thought

00:20:55.000 here about the about the two economies is that correct absolutely i decoupling is too friendly

00:21:00.360 i've i've moved on to hard break i i think is what we need so how do you so the people in wall street

00:21:09.000 silicon valley in the white house and maybe even the president of the united states will say guys

00:21:13.480 i i love that in theory but it's not practical the these two economies are indestructibly linked

00:21:19.320 with capital technology uh and what you're what you guys are calling for is a is a global depression

00:21:26.040 that takes the the the economies down by 10 or 20 percent and and so to be some bridging network

00:21:33.320 we're not going to let them do all the uh chips in fact there's a huge article i think in the saturday

00:21:39.000 ft before this came out about the black market and even taking nvidia chips and trying to upscale

00:21:45.000 them so oren cass and steve bannon and others are great guys in the in their in their patriots but

00:21:52.920 they're not practical you you can't you know you can't have a decoupling much less oren cass's uh

00:21:59.160 hard hard break or bannon's let's have lao baijing overthrow the ccp what is your what is your response to 0.71

00:22:06.280 that well i think it's entirely practical to to disentangle our economies uh it's certainly practical

00:22:13.240 to do it in in these areas where we haven't even sold something before it's not like we've been

00:22:17.320 selling advanced ai chips to china for the last 30 years this is something new and the question is

00:22:23.640 are we going to allow it or not and and the answer should obviously be no and and a good way to see

00:22:28.920 this is just flip it around let's imagine that china had some advanced technology that was giving

00:22:33.640 it a huge leg up do we think for a moment that that companies in china controlled by the ccp would be 0.62

00:22:40.200 saying oh but please let us sell these chips to the united states so we can make a little bit more

00:22:44.680 profit obviously not that that's already not the relationship we have in in one direction because

00:22:50.520 the chinese get it the the question is what is the relationship going to be in the other direction

00:22:55.960 and you know look it's not going to happen overnight we we've spent a couple of decades now

00:23:00.680 making the wrong choice getting our our economies entangled oh always always doing the same thing

00:23:06.040 always giving them tech not always giving them technology or letting them steal let me go to let

00:23:09.800 me take this this this also cuts to the heart of a bigger debate and that is this whole debate about uh

00:23:17.640 we're now in an arms race that that ai can't have any regulation it can't the four frontier labs

00:23:23.880 and and and you know people like uh elon musk uh and and and and the guys at uh open ai and these

00:23:31.400 people can't have any controls on them because we're in an arms race for the most important

00:23:35.160 technology mankind's ever seen uh and it's a national security issue my point is if we didn't

00:23:41.160 sell them the technology or let them know the processes or techniques or give them the capital

00:23:46.360 there wouldn't be a race am i wrong in that and is this issue right here about these nvidia chips

00:23:51.880 which by the way has a market cap of four trillion dollars and a guy that runs it and i understand

00:23:56.680 president trump's quite enamored with him but he has a a history of having a relationship with the

00:24:01.320 chinese chemist party if we took your direction oran we wouldn't have there would be no race for 0.96

00:24:08.520 artificial intelligence would there well i think in the long run there will be a race but to your

00:24:14.760 point we we are ahead on these critical technologies and and if we commit to staying ahead if if we commit

00:24:21.160 to keeping these advanced chips for ourselves that's that's a huge step along the way to say we have to

00:24:26.840 win the race and also we're selling a bunch of these advanced chips to china it doesn't make any

00:24:32.120 sense and by the way if you're concerned about ai safety if you're thinking gosh let's think about

00:24:37.160 the ways that ai you know could be misused i mean guess who's not worried about that guess who's not

00:24:42.280 going to put on those controls the chinese so it makes no sense from that angle either to be saying 1.00

00:24:48.760 well let's you know let's get these chips in there again unless your top priority is the profit of a

00:24:54.680 couple of these companies and like you said you know jensen wong who's who's the head of nvidia uh

00:25:00.520 he has not been a good actor in this he has he has been frankly not telling the truth he's been

00:25:04.840 claiming his chips aren't getting into china when he knows they are uh he just went and opened a research

00:25:10.760 center in china uh this is the mistake we've been playing over and over again and and this is where

00:25:16.600 president trump needs to be changing the game the idea that well we got to back off because this is what

00:25:20.760 the corporations want that was never the right strategy and and if there's ever going to be an

00:25:25.560 administration that's going to fix this it it really has to be this one talk to me about the

00:25:31.080 letter the letter you it's a joint effort with you and another organization you got some pretty

00:25:36.920 important signatures what do you have what is it what's the heart of what the letter says

00:25:41.160 to president trump and what do you hope to accomplish well the heart of the letter is to emphasize

00:25:46.840 that that this is fundamentally a national security issue that you know there are plenty of different

00:25:51.800 views on trade policy and and what deals we should make where but this is this is about more than trade

00:25:58.040 this is a a fundamental question of national security and and it is it is doing two things at once if if we

00:26:04.520 license these chips it's it's not just a question of whether we want china to have the chips or not

00:26:10.280 and obviously we should not want that it's also a question of whether we're going to have enough chips

00:26:14.840 for us and so it's this it's this double effect both speeding china up and slowing us down and the 0.70

00:26:21.720 last point i think that makes it that's really important is you know we actually did restrict

00:26:26.200 these chips just a few months ago and and now it looks like you know secretary lutnik in the commerce

00:26:30.920 department has said no we're changing our mind and that kind of changing our mind going back and

00:26:35.320 forth it makes it very hard to to enforce any export controls if people think well maybe they're not

00:26:40.920 serious you know maybe we shake some hands maybe we say some nice things and and it all change again

00:26:46.760 it's really important to be consistent uh if we are going to be credible in ourselves and in asking

00:26:52.840 our partners in other countries to all hold hands and stop selling this stuff to the chinese so having a 1.00

00:26:58.920 broad set of of really senior national security folks a lot of folks who have worked in the trump

00:27:04.200 administration the the first time around you know this is not an anti-trump letter these are people

00:27:10.120 who very much believe in and support what the trump administration is trying to do and the right way

00:27:15.640 to do that is not to keep is not to sell these chips it's it's to do what we have been doing and

00:27:20.440 say no we we need to prevent their sale to china uh real quick i only got a minute um if we abide by

00:27:28.760 your letter if the president took it under advisement and said yeah we're going to do this i'm

00:27:31.960 gonna go along with or in the guys would that could that be possibly the same equivalent of in the

00:27:36.840 summer of 1941 um uh curtailing oil shipments to uh to japan that expedited uh pearl harbor sir

00:27:46.280 i don't think so i i think decoupling is really the way to to step things down with china here 1.00

00:27:52.200 if you look when when we had world wars break out it was within between countries that were doing an

00:27:57.000 enormous amount of trade when did we actually have a staple situation it was between the u.s

00:28:01.800 and the soviet union when we said we have two different systems we're going to stay apart

00:28:05.720 from each other we're going to respect each other's spheres and i think that is a best much

00:28:10.440 better model for us to be heading toward or hang on for one second i just want to hold you through

00:28:14.520 the break just for a couple of minutes brian harrison from austin texas about this debacle in texas ben

00:28:19.880 harnwell still from rome we're gonna get it all done in the war room on a monday morning in july

00:28:25.080 there's a lot of talk about government debt but after four years of inflation the real crisis is

00:28:32.200 personal debt seriously you're working harder than ever and you're still drowning in credit card debt

00:28:38.680 and overdue bills you need done with debt and here's why you need it the credit system is rigged

00:28:45.560 to keep you trapped done with debt has unique and frankly brilliant escape strategies to help

00:28:52.520 end your debt fast so you keep more of your hard-earned money done with debt doesn't try to

00:28:58.920 sell you a loan and they don't try to sell you a bankruptcy they're tough negotiators that go one

00:29:04.920 on one with your credit card and loan companies with one goal to drastically reduce your bills and

00:29:09.960 eliminate interest and erase penalties most clients end up with more money in their pocket month one and

00:29:17.640 they don't stop until they break you free from debt permanently look take a couple of minutes and

00:29:25.960 visit donewithdebt.com talk with one of their strategists it's free but listen up some of their

00:29:32.200 solutions are time sensitive so you'll need to move quickly go to donewithdebt.com that's donewithdebt.com

00:29:39.560 stop the anxiety stop the angst go to donewithdebt.com and do it today here's your host stephen k man

00:29:49.640 or real quickly do you think also that this situation that we're going to try to have to

00:29:54.120 bleed some of these chips out is because the ccp has this over the barrel on the processing of rare

00:30:00.600 earths we've started a plant but it's going to be a couple of years to get up and running so the magnets

00:30:04.280 the ball bearings is is that the underlying tension in this deal that we got to give them some chips

00:30:09.560 are they going to cut us off from rare earths and they cut us off from rare earths the process ones 0.99

00:30:14.580 like the magnets production lines and automotive and other will be shutting down in a couple weeks

00:30:19.120 sir i definitely think that could be part of it i think the reality is we have other options if if we

00:30:26.300 need those rare earths sooner and and if it is that critical we we should be doing a lot more than

00:30:31.420 seeing what we can bring online in a couple of years but ultimately we should be taking this as a

00:30:36.560 lesson everybody who said oh it doesn't matter if if stuff goes to china if we're dependent on china

00:30:41.260 to now turn around and say oh well actually we are dependent on china so now you have to also let

00:30:46.140 us sell our advanced ai chips to china uh i'm i'm not persuaded it sounds like making a bigger mess than

00:30:53.340 before or an american compass where do people go to get your social media where they go to get the

00:30:58.920 magazine the website all this because you guys are at the cutting edge of populist economic and

00:31:05.440 cultural thinking sir well thank you we're i'm at orrin underscore cass on x uh all of our policy work

00:31:13.100 is americancompass.org our magazine is commonplace.org and our new book covering all of this is the new

00:31:20.120 conservatives orin thank you so much great letter uh great article in today's financial times and a

00:31:28.320 huge issue thank you sir for being yeah a bold leader with some guts well thanks for thanks

00:31:34.020 for helping us highlight it thank you very easy to roll over in this this is everything quite frankly

00:31:39.560 these chips um brian harrison joins us from texas brian this this mess gets worse now now that the the

00:31:48.280 redistricting is so big president trump's getting involved uh de santa steps up and says we're going to do

00:31:54.420 uh we're going to do at least five in in florida now there's talk over the weekend i spent a lot of

00:31:59.040 time with people about actually doing a mid decade census to get this mess sorted but in texas this

00:32:05.740 thing is getting worse are the democrats running the entire process down there sir in this redistricting

00:32:09.880 uh it certainly uh it certainly looks like that i mean i'll tell you the quick update so the governor

00:32:15.680 called us back for a special session our special sessions in texas last four weeks uh so we are over

00:32:21.940 25 percent over a quarter of the way uh through uh completely wasted by the way the texas house has

00:32:28.060 been on the floor i think three or four times for a total of 20 minutes so i was able to do this for

00:32:33.160 my office today because we gaveled in at 10 o'clock and at 10 oh four our rhino speaker declared quote

00:32:39.320 the speaker's desk is clear we haven't referred a single bill to any committees uh we've had no bills

00:32:45.140 come out of committee to the floor and on the redistricting front um total train wreck i mean once

00:32:51.100 our democrats elected the republican nominally speaker of the texas house he rewarded them by

00:32:57.160 rewriting the house rules to give them unprecedented power in the history of the texas house to

00:33:01.500 effectively control all of our committees that includes the redistricting committee so we've

00:33:05.220 had now between the house and senate four redistricting hearings hundreds of witnesses have

00:33:11.320 testified zero were brought in to support the redistricting this has been a full-on dnc scripted

00:33:18.600 infomercial against uh the president trump's uh request to redistrict down here against uh the

00:33:24.120 texas legislature taking action that would be beneficial to not just the people of texas but

00:33:28.940 the people of america and it's a complete outrage we've had i think three four or five members

00:33:33.080 of congress come down here of course in coordination with the dnc including you know um people like

00:33:38.960 jasmine crockett uh and castro and others these are the people that the texas legislature are bringing

00:33:45.440 in to come down and testify so hundreds of witnesses against full dnc scripting infomercial

00:33:51.220 against the redistricting effort zero republican witnesses testifying that we should do it and so

00:33:58.720 what we've effectively allowed to have happen here is hours and hours and hours of testimony into the

00:34:03.060 record with the democrats pretending that this effort would be unconstitutional illegal that would

00:34:08.020 be explicitly racist all completely preposterous in their efforts coordinated the highest levels of

00:34:14.260 the dnc to undermine the redistricting effort and they've already succeeded in burning over a quarter

00:34:19.940 of our special session so like who's in charge is lieutenant governor patrick going to get involved

00:34:26.940 is abbott are they are they hoping the senate saves you guys you've had hundreds of witnesses

00:34:32.020 against and smearing everybody with the worst charges possible with and people like jasmine crockett 0.99

00:34:37.900 who's you know such a piece of work right yeah um kind of leading this is the woman who tried to take 1.00

00:34:44.500 away president trump's secret service protection a week before he was shot these are the people we're

00:34:48.720 highlighting down here so but is somebody when is the adult supervision going to start i mean you've

00:34:55.100 only got three weeks left how are we going to turn this thing around this is a huge priority for

00:35:00.780 everyone in the republican party in the conservative movement and it's particularly high priority for a guy

00:35:06.580 named donald j trump so when is this going to start getting turned around and how is it going to get

00:35:10.960 turned around well i hope it should i mean it should have already been turned around i mean there should

00:35:14.820 have been a clear message that we're not going to tolerate the nonsense but the problem is for close

00:35:18.640 to two decades democrats even though they get routed at the ballot box by the voters of texas who

00:35:23.900 re-elected president donald j trump in a 14-point landslide there's almost two decades of precedence

00:35:29.360 for turning around and giving the democrats the power to control the legislative branch that they did not

00:35:35.320 earn at the ballot box and we saw this just uh four years ago in 2021 when the democrats uh broke

00:35:40.620 quorum and ran off to uh to washington to hang out with nancy pelosi to to keep the state of texas 1.00

00:35:45.960 from passing election integrity bills and we're already seeing this i think 15 democrats uh fled the

00:35:51.060 state many went to california they were meeting with gavin newsom with holding press conferences

00:35:55.040 with gavin newsom over the weekend democrats in texas uh by the way 11 of the 15 of these radical

00:36:01.440 leftist democrats are part of the coalition that elected our supposedly republican speaker

00:36:06.680 and they do it with complete impunity because they know that for years and years and years

00:36:11.060 they have been allowed to thwart uh president trump texas conservatives and republican priorities

00:36:17.760 without any fear of retribution so i'm sorry if the state of texas had the type of bold conservative

00:36:23.700 leadership that people and voters demanded that they deserve they would never try such things because

00:36:28.660 they know they wouldn't be allowed to get away with it no there should be swift consequences for

00:36:31.980 any democrats uh thwarting this process but not only are there not consequences for that

00:36:36.520 they're basically being given the reins that we're turning the texas capital channel into the dnc

00:36:42.360 network programming you know almost wall to wall every minute of these hearings and i hate to say this

00:36:47.320 that goes for both chambers the texas house nor the texas senate has brought in one single republican

00:36:53.780 to uh testify on the reasons that the state of texas should uh undergo this redistricting uh

00:37:00.720 redistricting uh initiative something that i think we we should do something president trump

00:37:05.060 thinks we should do and something that i believe millions and millions and millions of the voters of

00:37:08.620 texas believe and know that we should do brian where can people go on your social media to keep

00:37:15.040 up with this we're going to have you back on tomorrow but this is something that uh i can tell you from

00:37:19.500 the absolute top uh people want to be on top of so where do um where do people go to keep in touch

00:37:26.000 with you yeah if you want to see the the only i hate to say it but it's the only uh medium providing

00:37:31.580 other than shows like you the real truth coming out of the swamp here in austin it's my social media

00:37:36.080 at brian e harrison on x uh brian e harrison on x please go like follow share amplify because the austin

00:37:44.100 the texas and of course the national media are not telling the truth of what's going on down here

00:37:48.660 they're kind of sweeping this under the rug because everybody just just assumes that republicans

00:37:52.440 control texas but what they don't know is that it's just people with the word republican by their

00:37:57.280 name that are in control but they've handed the keys to the castle to joe biden kamala harris nancy

00:38:02.280 pelosi and the party of barack obama i mean for crying out loud barack obama's former white house

00:38:06.640 lawyer is our house parliamentarian making sure that conservative legislation dies here in the texas

00:38:11.780 legislature so at brian e harrison on x and i appreciate everything you steve and the posse you're doing to

00:38:17.260 keep the people not just of texas but america updating on what's going on down here you know

00:38:21.880 brian if it was biden kamala harris and pelosi as bad as that would be it wouldn't be as bad as who

00:38:28.640 they they've really turned it over to crockett and castro and they've turned it over to uh the mondami

00:38:34.540 the mondami element of new york right that really the the working people's party the dsa

00:38:41.000 uh etc this is as radical as you can get and it's running the tables down in austin texas sir so

00:38:47.160 thank you no why do we have socialist marxists being given airtime courtesy of the republican

00:38:51.640 controlled government of texas it's lunacy lunacy thank you sir great to be with you

00:38:57.420 this texas thing is out of control folks we're going to spend some time this week

00:39:01.720 on getting to the bottom of it uh more on reporting on that we'll report out on that in the next couple

00:39:06.680 days uh ben harnwell back to ukraine uh because we quite quickly could slide into a bigger shooting

00:39:16.360 war over there sir well look i think about six weeks ago when ukraine launched its drone attack

00:39:24.260 on uh russia's air force part of its its nuclear triad it did so largely from drones which had been

00:39:31.000 smuggled from ukraine into russia what happened over the last 24 hours is different it was an attack

00:39:38.760 deep inside russia but from long-range drones launched from ukraine itself now this is an

00:39:45.000 attack on stavropol which is about 335 miles from the border from the ukraine russia border deep in

00:39:54.280 into russia long-range drones um so obviously the first thing i did when i read about this was i just

00:39:59.480 wanted to check what the distance was between the border and moscow itself and the distance there is

00:40:07.160 again in miles 280 miles well within the range then that being the case the you know inquiring minds would

00:40:16.200 ask if ukraine already has the capacity to strike with long-range drones deep inside russia

00:40:25.320 why does it need american produced long-range missiles and i don't mean to be cynical but i would

00:40:33.640 suggest that the answer is because ukraine's only possibility of winning this war is by dragging the

00:40:40.760 united states in to the inter-kinetic engagement against russia something we've warned about

00:40:46.040 uh for three years um and my query my hesitation is that being the case

00:40:54.280 why are again to ask a question that the whole war impossible will know the answer before i've even

00:40:59.400 finished the question why are elements inside the united states actively trying to pressure the

00:41:05.880 administration successfully into providing these long-range missiles to ukraine people like lindsey

00:41:13.000 graham right it is this is the reason it is because there is an attempt no strategic necessity

00:41:20.200 whatsoever from the ukrainian point of view but there is an attempt to get america into this war and

00:41:27.160 that steve is the backdrop between the uh what we're saying earlier on the show why everyone should be

00:41:32.840 very concerned that president trump has brought forward his deadline his 50 day deadline uh to to 10 to 12 days

00:41:41.640 i guess that was going to be made more precise okay we got a minute left for you we got a minute left

00:41:48.200 for you how do you how do you think this thing plays out over the next 10 to 12 days because

00:41:52.680 this is an audible that's going to have some ramifications sir

00:41:57.480 steve i can only guess president trump is doing this because he has intel that's not publicly available

00:42:04.360 that suggests that russia is going to climb down in a humiliating fashion

00:42:09.400 uh i don't see any of any evidence of that but you know he had 50 days to play with you know that

00:42:16.280 was a bit ambiguous he could have just kicked it you know he had just kicked it in somewhat into the

00:42:21.240 long grass um the fact that he's actively bringing this forward seems to me that he's playing a game

00:42:28.440 of chicken with russia that he thinks he can win um but as i say he must be acting on intel that he has and

00:42:35.640 that i don't to have that conclusion because that's not the what what i'm reading on my analysis of the

00:42:41.320 facts no what i the deal with the eu is a big blow to them on energy but i got to tell you um

00:42:48.120 the secondary maybe he's ready to put secondary sanctions on china i mean you're negotiating in

00:42:53.080 right now in sweden with china and uh you may put secondary sanctions on them which is about the oil 0.68

00:42:58.280 that russia sells to them right now all i know is i think russia's got a 600 000 man army that's

00:43:02.840 ready to roll for the summer and i think their target may be odessa ben harnwell where do people

00:43:07.880 keep up with you sir and your social media thanks steve on getter should be tapping my surname at

00:43:14.600 harnwell uh where as always i have some pretty provocative posts at the top of my feed

00:43:20.520 waiting your attention thanks steve god bless catch you tomorrow putting your putting your cynical

00:43:25.880 beady eyes on ben harnwell thank you brother appreciate you wow what a day

00:43:34.840 boil from scotland president trump's there two hours taking questions from the media

00:43:39.480 who can do that nobody only trump short break

00:43:45.160 if you're a homeowner you need to listen to this in today's ai and cyber world scammers are stealing

00:45:12.680 a couple things number one and when the senate leaves i think they're going to leave here momentarily

00:45:19.720 i believe senator lee tells us we have 135 to 150 um appointments ready to go for confirmations

00:45:26.600 um right now i think thune and johnson are working it out that they you know do this

00:45:34.520 novelty act where they keep they keep in session by having somebody walk up and do it for like 30

00:45:39.240 seconds a day bottom line they wouldn't actually go into recess and president trump wouldn't get his

00:45:43.480 recent appointments they're getting all this done and he's got very few people confirmed yet of that

00:45:49.480 1 000 confirmations means u.s attorneys um the judge is getting done emil bovi should be done tuesday

00:45:57.560 or wednesday judge janine is getting done but the democrats and this is a democrat this is what democrats

00:46:04.920 are doing they're essentially filibustering every every one of his nominations you got all these second

00:46:11.080 and third level people under the cabinet heads and at these agencies and these are folks who get the work

00:46:17.000 done not that the the head guys don't the head men and women don't do work they do but a lot of

00:46:21.960 others is in meetings in the white house cabinet meetings coordinating and also media and explaining

00:46:27.320 what the president and his administration is trying to do this is just not this is much worse now than

00:46:33.640 the first term particularly confirmation it's got to end so either do what mike lee does and you stick

00:46:38.680 around and get them done and grind through it more you just do recess appointments number one also

00:46:44.360 just looking down range we're about to start august we're at the end of july

00:46:51.000 in 60 days the appropriations bills are not going to get done the house is gone they're not coming

00:46:56.280 back they only got a couple of days and they come back same with uh the senate i can tag and see where

00:47:02.920 the senate i can tell you right now because they're using this word bipartisan appropriations we

00:47:07.560 don't want bipartisan appropriations that's not what set up dude when you win an election we don't want 1.00

00:47:12.360 bipartisan we want quite partisan appropriations we want to cut spending dramatically

00:47:18.040 and reapport and realign others so it's going in the right place the senate i can tell you right

00:47:24.040 now is working on a omnibus bill what they're going to try to do is jam you president trump

00:47:28.440 doesn't want his administration shut down obviously you have to have something done

00:47:32.520 on the 30th best case now you're going to get a 90-day cr that's the best case

00:47:36.520 but i can tell you the senate's going to come with an omnibus a nasty old omnibus

00:47:43.160 the rescissions the pocket rescissions and the impoundments can go both for

00:47:47.720 2025 which ends on september 30th and for 2026 if the appropriators don't get it done

00:47:54.200 and now more than ever we need rust vote and the guys over at OMB to come for it let's see the pocket

00:47:58.280 rescissions hundreds of billions of dollars and have them squeal and let's go to the courts 1.00

00:48:03.640 otherwise i'm telling you on september 30th you're going to have a deficit that's going to be i

00:48:09.240 don't know over two trillion dollars and you're going to get hammered for that with a 26 deficit

00:48:15.720 that's going to be two trillion dollars the way to stop that and ron johnson everybody's talked about

00:48:21.080 it the deal was hey we'd come in with rescissions pot and the rescission the 9.4

00:48:25.720 bayon which was symbolic drew so much blood the piece of well i don't want to go through that again

00:48:31.720 well then hey you don't have to go through it again pocket rescissions do that or just impound

00:48:36.120 the freaking money let's look we're winning now we're winning much more than we're losing as you

00:48:42.120 go up the the food chain in the courts let's roll the impoundment control act of what 73 when 0.94

00:48:49.240 nixon had his back against wall is totally unconstitutional let's go let's hit it that's

00:48:54.440 as bad as the as the 14th amendment situation so let's just hit it let's go you got war powers

00:49:02.280 act you got that you got a couple three just let's go challenge them otherwise i'm telling

00:49:06.680 you right now you see what the deficits are the way to get the capital markets even more responsive

00:49:12.760 they're liking what they see so far but you got to have some some cuts uh so much going on in this

00:49:19.960 texas situation i'm gonna spend the rest of the afternoon on this we'll be back for the evening

00:49:23.480 show eric prince is going to join us the national security situation there are some dark clouds

00:49:28.920 forming on the horizon both in gaza and ukraine as we've warned you and south china sea

00:49:36.440 uh and also places around venezuela the caribbean there's a lot of a lot of dark clouds forming and

00:49:42.120 eric prince is going to help us make it all understandable so you are empowered and understand what's

00:49:48.360 happening in this kind of the geopolitics of it all also eric's got a lot to say about the tulsi

00:49:53.720 gabbard situation we got to get on with it let's stick the landing how about a couple of perp walks in

00:49:59.640 the next couple weeks i think people feel a lot better if they saw somebody cuffed and uh and you

00:50:05.000 know a grand jury a grand jury indictment so a lot on that charlie kirk's going to follow us poso after
