00:02:30.500 Jackie, I wrote the Atlantic article several weeks ago, and it was actually scheduled to run, I think, on November 3rd.
00:02:40.500 And the Atlantic pushed that data up in response to the president's comment, first, that he would love to be president for a third term, and Steve Bannon's comments that Donald Trump is going to be the next president, succeeding himself.
00:03:03.680 And then that's to say that the article ran at 7 a.m. the morning that the president, by the end of the day, from Air Force One on his way to Korea, had seemed to back away, saying that from what he reads, the 22nd Amendment prohibits him from running again.

00:03:35.700 There's no reason, and he has given the American people no reason to believe that he will not run again and be the next president of the United States by whatever means are necessary.

00:07:49.660 Well, Ali, as you know, up until the day that The Atlantic released my article, there had never been any suggestion, to my knowledge,
00:08:03.480 by either the president or Mr. Bannon, that the 22nd Amendment limited the president to the two terms or to the two elections to the office of president that he's been elected to.
00:08:20.720 It was only within 12 or 15 hours after my article ran at 7 a.m. that day that the president of the United States on his way to Korea and aboard Air Force One lamented what he reads that the 22nd Amendment prevents him from running for election again.

00:08:53.380 No, not at all.
00:08:56.300 As between the president of the United States and Steve Bannon on this issue, I would believe Steve Bannon in an instant.
00:09:08.320 Steve Bannon knows, as does the president, that the Constitution prevents him from running again.

00:09:16.740 And all along, for eight months, they've been hinting that the president would run for election again.
00:09:25.740 So I believe today that there's a likelihood that Donald Trump will run for election for the president again.
00:09:36.400 And as I say in the Atlantic article, he has amassed near absolute unchecked power in the United States, power that would enable him to run for election, be defeated for the presidency.
00:09:57.140 Right. And nonetheless, be the next president of the United States of America.
00:10:03.140 I mean, the common denominator here is Donald Trump and Democrats are on the precipice of delivering a huge blow to Donald Trump in his second term.
00:10:12.140 What are we talking about here? Well, why don't we just look? Democrats lead all the key races.
00:10:17.140 You go to New Jersey governor. That's really the only close one.
00:10:19.140 Mikey Sherrill, the Democrat, up by six points.
00:10:21.140 Abigail Spanberger in Virginia, up by Talens.
00:10:23.140 Ramondani up by 16 points in New York City. The bottom line is this.
00:10:29.140 Yes, there are ideological differences between the Democrats.
00:10:32.140 But the key common component is they are all going after Donald Trump and all the Democrats lead from New Jersey to Virginia to New York City.
00:10:41.140 They all lead the Republican and independent opponents.
00:10:44.140 How much is he impacting the cases? Never mind that they want to beat him in their minds.
00:10:48.140 It's sort of like, hey, this is to show you that we can beat you. But but how much is he affecting these?
00:10:53.140 I mean, look, Donald Trump is a huge, huge drag in all of these races.
00:10:58.140 Look at his net popularity ratings in New Jersey. He's 11 points underwater. Virginia, 14 points underwater.
00:11:03.140 Not much of a big surprise in New York. He's 35 points underwater.
00:11:06.140 And I will note nationally in my aggregate of polls, he's about 13 points underwater in our CNN poll.
00:11:11.140 He's way below that, which looks a lot like New Jersey, a lot like Virginia.
00:11:15.140 So these races, in my mind, could be huge bellwethers going into next year to understanding how Donald Trump is impacting these races.
00:11:23.140 He is a huge, huge drag and across the board, New Jersey, Virginia and New York City.
00:11:28.140 Do these races tell us anything about the midterm as to what happens here and what might happen in the midterm?
00:11:33.140 Yeah. OK, so, you know, I was mentioning, of course, Donald Trump being a huge drag, right?
00:11:38.140 He's at his second term lows, not just in our CNN poll, but across the different polls that we were looking at this weekend.
00:11:43.140 And why is it that these races are so important?
00:11:46.140 Well, go back through history. Jump in that DeLorean.
00:11:49.140 Look at what has happened when Democrats sweep New York City, New Jersey and Virginia governor.
00:11:54.140 They won the U.S. House the next year five out of five times in the last 90 years.
00:12:00.140 You go all the way back to the FDR administration.
00:12:02.140 So the bottom line is this. When Democrats do well in these off year elections, when they sweep New Jersey, Virginia and New York City,
00:12:08.140 historically speaking, that means they go on to win the U.S. House of Representatives the next time around.
00:12:14.140 And when we're in this national polarized environment and Donald Trump is as unpopular as he is,
00:12:19.140 I think that history is likely to hold if, in fact, Democrats do sweep tomorrow, which at this point looks more likely than not.
00:12:26.140 We will have to see. We also have some new polling numbers also that makes Democrats not look so good.
00:12:30.140 So it's kind of like wondering whether this historic norm will stay as per usual.
00:12:35.140 And that, my friend, is why we go 365 years to find out what happens next year.
00:12:40.140 Monday, 3, November, in the year of our Lord, 2025 was the fifth anniversary of the stolen election.

00:13:10.140 Oh, they forgot to add the launch of Newsom's 2028 campaign in California with what looks to be a blowout win on the one of the most important, the redistricting wars where they're going to pick up five seats illegally.
00:13:28.140 They're going to turn tomorrow night into a thumping of President Trump.
00:13:33.140 If President Trump, if they had, if the campaigns in Jersey, which still could be one, by the way, both of them would be one if you have massive, and I mean massive, game day turnout.

00:13:45.140 If they don't win by huge spreads, and I mean in the number of, you know, 175,000, 200,000 votes plus, which is a huge, huge ask, then you're going to have a sweep.
00:13:58.140 And President Trump was not engaged.
00:13:59.140 I know he's doing a teletown hall, I think, tonight in New Jersey and in the Commonwealth.
00:14:04.140 But that's not like having Trump intimately involved.
00:14:07.140 Remember, President Trump, because of the MAGA turnout in 21, won for Yunkin, who's been a total and complete disaster since then.
00:14:15.140 Abandoned everything on the parents move, you still got boys and girls back, the whole thing's a disaster.
00:14:21.140 Because he spent all his time in Iowa running for 28, which I think will be put to bed tomorrow night after they lose across the board in Virginia.
