00:04:40.880 Brett, my wingman. Brett, what was this all about? I mean, I really am lost. The Democrats
00:04:49.380 are so strong at the beginning of it, then cratered. We have lost, what, six or eight weeks
00:04:54.020 from the economy. President Trump said it's a $1.5 trillion hit to the economy. It was all
00:05:00.280 about the hill they would die on was the illegal alien healthcare, which they didn't get. We've
00:05:06.680 kicked the CR now through the holidays to essentially, you know, around, you know,
00:05:12.920 theoretically the inauguration we have every four years, I think around the 20th of January
00:05:17.160 of next year. But, you know, I don't see this crowd hammering out appropriations bills that can get
00:05:24.880 passed in the House and the Senate. So we may back just to an annual CR off of the CR we've been
00:05:31.240 dealing with for the last couple of years. You were here, and one of the big issues was the
00:05:38.640 Obamacare subsidies that kind of got bailed out during the pandemic when people really weren't
00:05:44.100 paying attention, and in particular when Biden came in. And now you've got this big issue with
00:05:50.580 all those that come out. You just heard President Trump right there with another idea. I think an
00:05:55.100 idea that might, a lot of people might say, that sounds pretty good. You were here when we had to deal
00:06:00.220 with this the last time. So first off, walk me through the shutdown. What do you think the
00:06:04.900 Democrats clearly kind of collapsed here at the end? And what does it mean? Because we still have
00:06:11.320 this big healthcare issue. And, you know, Russ Vogt is kind of jammed up now, at least for a while,
00:06:17.060 on the rifts that he can do. He's got to wait till I guess the next CR, or if they can make it an
00:06:22.100 annual CR. So where are we in this? You've been through a couple of these.
00:06:26.100 Yeah, well, I think it's politics and control over the narrative at the top level. That's what's
00:06:34.660 going on. And then there's been a few, you know, people got their fingers up in the air,
00:06:38.320 seeing which way the wind's blowing. At first, I think it started off kind of in the Republicans'
00:06:42.040 favor. The evidence, you know, shutting down the economy for illegal immigrants, etc. That narrative
00:06:49.460 was winning. Then you had the Virginia, New Jersey, California elections, and the Democrat
00:06:55.060 pulse went up a little bit. They got excited and they, oh, we got something going here.
00:07:00.620 And then lately, I think the Democrats see Thanksgiving break coming at them.
00:07:05.860 And that would be a doozy. Bad, very bad for them. And so I think they were testing out the
00:07:11.960 healthcare trial balloon. The Republicans have no answer on that. They got to get one, right? The
00:07:17.440 Democrats, back when I was in, it was pre-existing conditions. They just push it and push it and
00:07:22.980 push it. No end to spending, right? So it's like debating or fighting against Santa Claus. It's an
00:07:28.420 impossible fight to win when the country's already bankrupt. And so what we need, and I think President
00:07:34.460 Trump has expressed some of this, but the healthcare system, it's 20% of the economy, right? And,
00:07:39.740 you know, it's kind of the ultimate conceit of the free market logic. To think that some genius can
00:07:47.880 control in their head 20% of the economy is just absurd. But the hospital systems probably are the
00:07:54.940 key link as far as the politics go. And they'll tell you, their CEOs told me, Dave, we love you. We
00:08:00.640 love your ideas. But we got problems here because we need the formularies and the drugs and the
00:08:07.680 Medicare and the social security numbers to make up for our hospital losses. And so the Republicans,
00:08:14.860 we need to come up with, you know, in economics, we call it a Pareto efficient outcome. We need to make
00:08:19.500 every, we need to come up with some set of policies, which makes everybody better off,
00:08:24.520 somewhat better off without hurting anyone. If you hurt anyone, you lose.
00:08:28.200 I got that. It's great. I got that. But, you know, we were told, and this had to be the priority
00:08:34.980 of the Republicans after we won, you know, particularly in the House, we had to sort out
00:08:40.160 Obamacare. You guys had passed, I think, 40 bills or something to tear it down. But you knew
00:08:45.040 they'd never be implemented. When President Trump came in, the speed bump we hit in the first seven
00:08:51.020 months was exactly this. Do you see, I don't need to go back over that history, but do you see the
00:08:56.000 Republicans coming together and coming up with a solution? I mean, President Trump threw out an
00:09:00.400 alternative last night. Do you see the Republicans between now and Christmas break coming up with a
00:09:05.940 solution? No, on the show for the past four years, for the past 10 years with you, I've said they don't
00:09:14.560 come together with any solutions. That's the problem. They let each 250 members go out and run their
00:09:20.660 own campaign. There's not a contract with America at the top. There needs to be, right? We said we were
00:09:26.620 going to repeal Obamacare, and then we had a Paul Ryan with three bucket thing, and President Trump was
00:09:32.540 doing his best to navigate all that thing, but it was an unmitigated disaster. And so they need to come
00:09:38.680 forward. Yes, they need to put something in place that's very understandable that you can explain in one
00:09:45.460 sentence. Simultaneously, Dave, I just wanted people to walk down the path here, because this
00:09:51.800 is going to drive us into the 26 midterms, or the kickoff of the 26 midterms. I guess we've already
00:09:56.120 kicked off, but this will be the big launch. We've got, what, 90 days until January 20th to basically
00:10:04.160 come to a resolution on the $7 trillion budget and the $5 trillion of revenue. And I know Russ Vogt and
00:10:10.400 people have these amazing plans that President Trump signed off on to cut spending and to do it
00:10:15.740 in a smart way. But you just saw the Democrats, what they wanted to do there was add over a trillion
00:10:20.180 dollars for illegal alien health care. In addition, the one thing they won was to stop the rifts,
00:10:27.160 to absolutely just hard stop the rifts. So folks, in the next, you know, between now and the first of
00:10:33.560 the year, and that goes through Thanksgiving, the holidays, Christmas, the new year, you're going to have
00:10:38.760 two pitch battles here in Capitol Hill. I just don't see, I just don't see either one of these
00:10:43.880 sides coming to any resolution. My point, I think we're going to kick off 20, you're going to have a
00:10:48.080 lot of hate and discontent in this. The Democrats are going to get more wildly violent, crazier,
00:10:54.320 and, you know, we're going to be in a fix come January with maybe a year CR. Hang on for a second.

00:11:44.600 that's what that 50 year mortgage will do. It will make the baby boomer generation more wealthy 0.77
00:11:50.160 because their houses prices will go up. It will make home builders more wealthy because they can
00:11:54.860 sell higher price houses and it will make bankers more wealthy because they can siphon off more interest
00:11:59.740 out of young people. And what's really sick is that we have a bubble right now. And so for Trump,
00:12:05.040 to expand borrowing by expanding credit, relaxing the credit requirements, what they're essentially
00:12:10.760 doing is helping struggling people get into the market so that boomers who have made a lot of money 0.73
00:12:16.000 can get out of the market at the top. That's even more perverse. And so that's what their solution was
00:12:21.460 when the real solution should be to crash the market. And yes, that would be bad for the economy,
00:12:26.380 but everybody was talking about a controlled detonation of the economy. Remember back in January,
00:12:31.180 I think it was, we're like, okay, we're in, how are we bringing this thing down? And you know what?
00:12:36.140 That would have been the best thing for people under 50. They could have gotten rid of all the H1Bs 1.00
00:12:40.920 and all the visas and then crash the housing market. That would have given every zoomer a job, 1.00
00:12:46.400 a good job, like an Apple development job. Oh yeah. Like a fever would also push all the
00:12:52.900 foreigners out, all the illegals. And unfortunately it would be a generational wealth transfer, 0.97
00:12:56.920 but we still have generational wealth transfers happening right now. You have young workers who
00:13:01.940 are underemployed, basically paying for all the social security and Medicare that the boomer 0.99
00:13:06.220 generation is demanding to be there. And what I'm saying that we're seeing is the fourth turning.
00:13:12.040 And I think we're seeing it right now. And I think the Israel issue, and I'm not picking on Israel.
00:13:16.880 It could have been any issue. No, absolutely. But exactly. That's been now the catalyst.
00:13:22.020 First, that's what captured the public's attention. So break that down.
00:13:26.120 If you look 20 years ago and ask America about like, well, what'd you think about Israel? It's
00:13:30.200 like, it wouldn't have been that big of a political football and the numbers probably would have been
00:13:33.680 flat across age, but then there would have been a huge age spectrum between the youngs and the olds
00:13:38.460 on what like candidate to support. Right. Uh, now it's the complete opposite. People aren't that far
00:13:44.340 apart on Trump between like 18 and 65, but on Israel, they're completely far apart. The 18 to 29s,
00:13:50.720 only 21% say Israel, the 65 and older it's 59%. So they're completely at odds. Very clearly the
00:13:57.560 fourth turning stuff. And what the fourth turning tells us is that there's a generation, the boomer
00:14:02.820 generation is the one that, you know, takes over government, grew up where there were strong
00:14:08.800 institutions with strong values, takes advantage of that, becomes more individualistic and selfish.
00:14:13.800 And then at the cusp of the fourth turning crisis, there's a change of leadership into the hero
00:14:20.160 generation, which is younger people, but specifically the millennials, people who have come up under them
00:14:25.180 were raised by them, but have a very different value set. And so there's a crisis. And after that
00:14:30.160 crisis, I think values are pull, not push can't push Christianity on people, conservatism on people
00:14:36.240 from a political perspective, there's a crisis and people reorder society around a new value set.
00:14:42.120 So I think Israel is a very deeply ingrained boomer value. They saw the nation be formed. They
00:14:50.080 supported it all through the years and it's become a religious sacrament. And so the young people see
00:14:56.120 that as a rebellion point.

00:18:31.220 structure and the discipline and the masculine elements. And people are starting to take a new
00:18:37.380 look at religion. And so that ties into the Israel piece and the, and the, uh, the values
00:18:43.160 piece and the culture piece. And, uh, it's good news, uh, but we're nowhere near culmination,
00:18:47.860 right? It's the beginning. It's the, the fourth turning is this AI chaos. And, uh, we're about
00:18:54.000 ready to start seeing glimmers of hope by in the young people. I, I, I think, um, in fact,

00:19:54.580 Republicans are going to lose because they don't understand politics. They're still playing
00:19:58.380 yesterday's political game, which is a game about basically two warring sides, two warring
00:20:04.160 ideological sides locked in a complete stalemate. And it's not like that anymore. People under 50 1.00
00:20:09.920 don't really care about conservatism. The problem is, is that all of these values have basically
00:20:14.140 failed America and everybody above 50 is generally doing pretty well. Everybody under 50 can't afford 0.99
00:20:19.360 a house, doesn't want to get married. The society doesn't work. The churches don't mean as much as
00:20:24.240 they used to the school suck. Like everything's falling apart. And then that's what happens on a
00:20:28.740 fourth turning. And it's like, okay, you got this wave of boomers. They did really well. And what's 0.53
00:20:33.240 wild is just look at like median home buyer age, which has gone up from 39 to 59 in the last 20
00:20:38.480 years. So there's an entire slice of the generation that's literally just been priced out of the
00:20:42.300 American dream. And the polling tells us this, like everybody thinks that today's children will be
00:20:46.160 worse off than their parents. The numbers are just absolutely abysmal. So something like the music
00:20:50.200 finally stopped is basically where we're at. And you have the Republican party that's just like,
00:20:54.040 well, you know, they'll be fine just voting for us because nobody likes socialism. Well,
00:20:57.520 we're getting to the point where people are considering socialism. And I think that this
00:21:01.080 was like the last chance of the right to actually put up or shut up. And everybody's seeing that,
00:21:06.000 oh, they're just going to shut up. That's exactly what happened. Donald Trump had the perfect platform.
00:21:10.620 He was given the biggest mandate the Republican party's ever going to have. All he had to do was come
00:21:15.260 in and literally just reform government and smash the oligarchy. And he's not going to. And so all the
00:21:21.760 young people, all of these people, like the Trump voters under 40, they are not conservative at all.
00:21:27.360 And they gave Donald Trump a 60% approval rating in the fall or in the spring when Elon Musk and
00:21:32.760 Doge were just completely shock and awe, like tearing the government apart. Everybody was validated that,
00:21:38.580 yes, I distrusted the federal government and I was right. It sucks. And all of a sudden we just like
00:21:44.220 bottled that back up. And now it's like, oh, it's the Republicans and Democrats. Who's going to blame
00:21:48.440 more? It doesn't matter. They're just going to vote for Mom Donnie because he's going to give
00:21:52.380 them a $10 trillion housing crisis bill. And, you know, it'll destroy the republic. 0.62
00:21:57.660 Is this the reason? Hang on. Is this the is this the reason that in political media, you could tell
00:22:04.040 that this shutdown did not generate the interest, did not generate the passion, did not generate
00:22:10.000 the concern of the one that President Trump did in 18 for building the wall and the one that
00:22:15.300 that was in 13 with Mike Lee and Ted Cruz about Obamacare, that that conventional politics
00:22:22.360 and kind of the Republicans, the Democrats going out of it, going at it at a superficial level
00:22:27.640 is not is not what drives people now.
00:22:31.400 We don't have daily tracking on party. We have daily tracking on Trump. And this one was very
00:22:35.780 different, entirely different landscape. I've been saying that people want to shut down,
00:22:39.300 but the whole point was to actually reform the system with it. And so what happened is Donald Trump's
00:22:44.100 numbers didn't take a nosedive at all for the first three weeks of the shutdown. It was incredible.
00:22:48.400 I didn't know what to expect. And people were like, OK, whatever. Sure, we're going to shut this down.
00:22:52.360 And on the Internet, which I admit is not real world, everybody was like, oh, look, we got to get
00:22:58.180 Russ Vogt, the Grim Reaper. So what happened is about three weeks into this, when Donald Trump's
00:23:03.240 flying around the world talking to dignitaries and we're building the East Wing of the White House
00:23:07.500 and now food stamps are going to get defunded and we're walking into an election. All of a sudden,
00:23:13.040 his numbers started tanking. And it was very clear that, in my opinion, the Republicans had
00:23:17.540 no plan and everybody went on the Internet and everyone was ripping their faces off on the right
00:23:21.600 about Israel. And so I think that's what happened. And then you look at the elections and it's like,
00:23:26.840 oh, yep, independents and crossover Democrats didn't turn out in New Jersey. And some of them might
00:23:32.080 have been affected by what was going on. But clearly, some of them, I think, just expected more out of a
00:23:36.360 Republican Party and are not excited to go to the polls. Democrats are excited to go vote because
00:23:41.240 they hate Trump and that motivates them. On the right, unfortunately, what motivates them is
00:23:45.440 smashing the oligarchy and burning the government down. And the right is not doing that. And so
00:23:49.620 the left's going to get a chance. The pendulum is going to swing back and this might be the last
00:23:53.620 chance. I don't know. We got 355 days to an election and the Republicans are going to lose this
00:23:58.040 one. They are just going to lose it. It looked like their plan was a gerrymandering war of attrition
00:24:02.900 that they're now appearing to lose. And the generic ballot is, I think, Democrat plus five

00:33:07.560 So I agree with much of what he said. But what I would just add is, in Texas, we've been dealing
00:33:13.420 with the brunt of the illegal immigration influence. But now we're seeing, I think,
00:33:18.700 the ramifications of the H-1B system and how it has been abused, in addition to chain migration and
00:33:25.240 diversity visas, which we've been trying to fix for a long time. And we've been unable to do so.
00:33:30.280 You'll remember back in 2018, with the various bills that were being debated in President Trump's
00:33:36.540 first term. And we were unable to get that resolved as Republicans. And it left it both broken with
00:33:42.160 respect to the illegal immigration system. We didn't get the wall fully built. We didn't get
00:33:46.780 fixes to all of the asylum problems and the abuse of parole and the catch and release.
00:33:51.580 But we also didn't address ending the chain migration and diversity visas. We had language to do it.
00:33:57.020 We just couldn't get the votes. So now, what are we dealing with in Texas? We're dealing with a
00:34:02.120 massive Islamism problem. We're dealing with a massive problem of the advancement of Sharia law. 0.97
00:34:08.780 We're dealing with a mass community that is growing up, that have no desire to assimilate 1.00
00:34:14.880 and come here to become American and embrace Western civilization, embrace our constitution,
00:34:21.240 embrace our values. We've allowed the corporatists to define our entire national policy.

00:34:32.040 which is exceptionally on point. And as he always was when he was starting from faith,

00:34:44.140 to own a home. You should be able to have Americans getting jobs. And the mass deportation is correct. 1.00
00:34:49.560 The ending H-1BB says it's correct, et cetera. What I would point out here is that we're dealing with
00:34:55.580 a cultural problem about who we are as Americans. Going back a couple of years ago, I was noting 51
00:35:01.940 million people in this country are foreign born, but that's something like 16 or 17 percent of the
00:35:08.580 population. Now, that is higher than it's ever been. That is higher than it was in the early 20th
00:35:14.560 century, right?
00:35:15.380 Hang on for one second. Just hold that. I want to get the rosemary drinks. Chip is going to join us
00:35:21.040 tomorrow to talk about this. So what Chip is saying, he's actually working on, they're working
00:35:27.520 on some legislation now at Rosemary Jenks to resolve these problems, H-1B visas and others.
00:35:34.240 Can you just give us, not an idea what's in it, because I know they're going to launch this and
00:35:37.600 announce it and you've been working on it, but the mood change up on Capitol Hill that these things
00:35:43.380 have to be addressed now. You heard Chip give a great summary of kind of the Charlie Kirk perspective
00:35:47.960 of how bad this has gotten, ma'am. Well, I'm not sure that, unfortunately, there has been
00:35:54.320 an overall mood change in Congress. I think there are members of Congress who are figuring this out
00:36:01.800 and who are listening to the American people, and obviously Congressman Roy is one of them. There are
00:36:06.520 others. But what we need right now is a turning point. Speaking of Charlie Kirk, we need to have a
00:36:17.640 national conversation about what our immigration policy should be. I'll tell you a dirty little
00:36:25.940 secret. Our immigration system is working exactly as Congress intended it to work right now. This is
00:36:34.900 what they designed it for. It is not working for the American people, but it is doing exactly what 0.99
00:36:41.020 they intended. So we need to step back and have a national conversation about what an immigration 0.77
00:36:47.860 policy that serves Americans' interests looks like. And the best way to do that is to have a
00:36:54.400 moratorium bill that stops it all right now so that we can have that conversation. And that is what
00:36:59.300 Congressman Roy is talking about. So an H-1B bill that we've been talking about, because we think the
00:37:06.520 whole thing's a scam, to shut it down, what's going to be the pushback on that from industry? Because right
00:37:11.480 now, as you know, Rosemary, they have not shown us one billet that an American can't fill either through
00:37:16.420 an education level or job experience. This is all about driving down wages. So if Roy and others put
00:37:25.240 forward a bill to basically put the whole system, the H-1B system, on a hiatus, what is industry and what are the
00:37:33.780 tech bros going to say? Well, first of all, what Congressman Roy is talking about is not just
00:37:40.060 putting H-1B on hiatus. He's talking about the entire immigration system. So legal immigration,
00:37:46.340 non-immigrant workers, all of it. But there is going to be absolute caterwauling from the tech 0.99
00:37:54.600 industry. They're going to claim that, you know, they're going to go out of business and a lot of the
00:38:00.920 Chamber of Commerce types will claim the same thing. The fact is, there will be short-term 0.73
00:38:07.480 dislocations, short-term pain if this is enacted. But there's going to be plenty of warning for these
00:38:15.720 companies that are dependent on, or, you know, say they're dependent on cheaper foreign labor,
00:38:21.140 because this is going to take some time. It's not going to be enacted by Congress overnight. We have a
00:38:26.320 lot of work to do to build support for this kind of legislation. But the fact is, American companies
00:38:34.860 need to start now weaning themselves off this cheap foreign labor and hiring Americans. It's good for 1.00
00:38:42.600 America. It's good for American workers. It's good for our economy. So start now. And the dislocation,
00:38:49.780 the disruption will be significantly less when we get to a point that finally Americans' voices are
00:38:56.440 actually heard in Congress.
00:38:59.060 We have, is it correct? I think we have 12 million STEM workers, people that are trained either through
00:39:05.180 education and or training in industry that are not in the workforce or out of work now in a STEM
00:39:11.640 profession, correct? So there's a pretty deep pool of candidates out there.
00:39:15.620 Absolutely. And we know that there has been massive discrimination against American workers over
00:39:21.640 the age of 40, who, you know, are becoming too expensive and, and the employers can fire them
00:39:28.740 and bring in a younger, cheaper entry level foreign worker at a much lower salary. We also know,
00:39:35.700 of course, that young Americans are being just completely ignored in tech fields because the foreign
00:39:44.080 student to OPT to H1B pipeline is so robust. And so it's time to break those. It's time to break the
00:39:52.360 pipelines. It's time to break the dependence on foreign workers. Americans absolutely need this to 1.00
00:40:00.160 happen. And we need it to happen now. It's not going to happen, you know, instantly, but we need it to
00:40:07.740 happen. And we need to have this conversation. And I think that is the big thing that Congressman
00:40:13.020 Roy's legislation will generate is this national conversation on what is the immigration policy
00:40:21.100 we need. Do we need any immigration at all? You know, maybe we want to limit two spouses and minor 1.00
00:40:26.160 children. Maybe we want to have no immigration for some significant period of time. We've got to have 1.00
00:40:32.380 that conversation. The American people have never been asked, what immigration policy do you want?
00:40:39.000 It's time. The dislocations, though, for the tech, for the tech bros, because they're going to
00:40:47.400 catwall her in with their lobbyists and all that. If you plan ahead and we can plan ahead starting now,
00:40:53.420 it won't be that bad because you've got a tremendous pool plus American citizens, not foreign students,
00:40:59.120 but American citizens coming out of university every year. If you got serious and plan this out,
00:41:05.640 the disruptions and displacements would be pretty small, correct? Yeah, that's absolutely true. We
00:41:11.360 have plenty of workers in this country. And even if you have to take a worker out of college and train
00:41:17.660 them to do whatever it is you do, whether it's building ships or building missiles or whatever,
00:41:23.720 that there will be time to do that if you start now. So if employers want to avoid the economic
00:41:30.860 disruptions, they need to start now and start focusing on American workers.
