00:18:46.800 and in the market systems we have it today the second thing that happened was we had a series

00:18:52.360 of tests run by one of the big companies called anthropic on their latest ai model and the model was so

00:19:00.460 aware that it was in a testing environment that the researchers who were hired to run the test had

00:19:06.080 lost confidence that their test results were actually meaningful because basically the model was because it

00:19:11.440 recognized it was in a test environment it was changing its behaviors to say things that would

00:19:16.900 make it more likely that it would get deployed so this is a inside the industry this is called deceptive

00:19:22.360 alignment so basically the model is lying about whether or not it's aligned and following the

00:19:28.240 policies that the company has set for it because it was aware that it was in a test environment

00:19:31.800 and it acted accordingly this is a kind of one of these things that should give people some

00:19:54.160 about 1.6 million of these autonomous ai agents being directed by people like sort of scouring the

00:20:00.580 internet and it's been a whole bit of a nightmare for many in the cyber security industry and it's sort of

00:20:07.460 like the wild wild west days of the internet right now and it's incredibly interesting to watch there's

00:20:12.460 a lot of confusion about what's real and what's not and what's human directed and what's actually

00:20:17.420 autonomous behavior but our assessment right now is that these things are acting in ways uh and they

00:20:23.700 have they have behaviors that are emerging in ways that no one could predict in advance

00:20:27.720 things like these ai agents have started their own religion and they're paying human beings to go

00:20:32.080 proselytize for it um and and so it's just like it's a glimpse into the future and what this world

00:20:37.800 looks like when there are billions of these things on the internet uh without any guardrails i think

00:20:47.240 these uh ai safety researchers from some of the big companies have resigned again in public and they've

00:21:03.980 be i'm not sure what they're going to be doing next but it's just again all these things sort of

00:21:07.460 add up to create one big giant signal that this technology is getting very very powerful it's moving

00:25:53.560 the numbers here are staggering and the bet that's being made is that that 800 billion will return over

00:25:59.920 time trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars of value and the lag between these investments and

00:26:05.080 whether or not these companies become profitable is going to be a key thing about determining whether or

00:26:09.660 not this is a bubble that just sort of collapses or contracts in a big way or if it actually

00:26:13.400 endures because i will say this is not like the dot-com bubble these companies are are making a

00:26:19.060 lot of money there's a lot of demand for these products and so you know this it's a question of

00:26:23.920 timing and how fast the big picture you know we're actually asking the american people to subsidize the

00:26:29.240 development of data centers that are going to be training the potentially the workers that are going
