00:00:00.280 Why this reported nuclear agreement with the United States is such an enormous deal?
00:00:05.260 Well, we have to remind ourselves that the United States and Saudi Arabia have been talking about a nuclear deal for two presidencies.
00:00:13.660 Joe Biden wanted to make a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia, and Donald Trump does too.
00:00:19.160 There are a couple of important differences between the two.
00:00:21.700 First, Biden wanted to link that deal to Saudi Arabia, making a diplomatic breakthrough with Israel.
00:00:29.200 This was meant to be the sweetener for Saudi Arabia joining the so-called Abraham Accords.
00:00:34.880 It seems that Trump has now delinked those two things and is willing to go ahead and make this deal.
00:00:39.480 The other main difference, and this is something we'll only know all the details when we have them and we don't yet have them,
00:00:46.220 is whether or not Saudi Arabia will be subject to the same kinds of United Nations agency supervision for their nuclear program.
00:00:57.400 Because we're not just talking about the Saudis having a nuclear power program.
00:01:02.860 Many countries have that.
00:01:04.780 But we're talking about Saudi Arabia enriching uranium in Saudi Arabia.
00:01:09.440 That's where the concerns step forward.
00:01:11.060 If they're going to enrich nuclear fuel, who's going to supervise that?
00:01:16.320 How closely will it be supervised?
00:01:18.640 And how much can we rely upon Saudi Arabia to make sure that that supervision is airtight
00:01:25.180 and that materials and technology does not get into the wrong hands.
00:01:29.300 Except despite your failure to win this war, you are back now before Congress asking for almost $70 billion in additional funding.
00:01:38.980 You're asking the American people for a blank check because, once again,
00:01:43.020 the Trump administration's efforts have been an utter and complete failure to win this war to this point.
00:01:50.100 So my question for you, sir, is how is your strategy different than what we've seen in the past?
00:01:55.440 I think your characterization of this incredible effort as a failure is reckless.
00:01:59.940 And I think it's irresponsible.
00:02:01.460 And I think it smears the sacrifice of the troops that are out there making on behalf of the American people
00:02:05.620 to ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.
00:02:08.800 Shame on you and others who call this a quagmire and a failure.
00:02:11.640 And then you want to turn around and say you support the warfighter.
00:02:13.940 Secretary Hegshoff, if you listen to my comments, you would have heard me say how amazing our warfighters are.
00:02:20.260 I heard failure. I heard exactly what you said.
00:02:23.000 I will tell you how I used the word failure, because I used the word failure to their leaders.
00:02:27.200 You, sir, are the failure.
00:02:28.880 We talked a lot about that.
00:02:30.180 Was there an agreement on election interference?
00:02:32.960 We didn't discuss that topic.
00:02:34.480 Mr. Secretary, China and Russia are giving targeting information to Iran.
00:02:38.140 These last few attacks have been very devastating to U.S. troops.
00:02:40.840 Look, all I would say is that, you know, any time you're in a combat zone like that, there's danger associated with it. 0.97
00:02:46.660 I mean, at the end, this actually proves the point that this is what Iran has been investing its money in for the last 20 years. 0.96
00:02:52.800 I'm not going to discuss that other than to say that nothing that's happened,
00:02:56.280 nothing that China has done has in any way changed the trajectory of what you're seeing in terms of the conflicts we're having with Iran.
00:03:03.960 And in fact, in some cases, they've actually been quite cooperative with regards to what they potentially could have done but didn't do.
00:03:10.160 I think the Chinese, and I'll let them tell you, but I don't think they're big fans of what Iran is trying to do in the Straits.
00:03:17.820 In fact, they've said so publicly that they oppose tolling or any sort of restraint on freedom of navigation in the Straits. 1.00
00:03:23.920 And, you know, we hope they'll continue to say that.
00:03:26.700 And it's important that other countries say that as well.
00:03:29.660 Unpopular and unauthorized war abroad is a higher priority to this administration than their ability to feed their families and provide health care to their loved ones who are sick.
00:03:43.420 Well, Senator, you're talking about political tradeoffs and our job is to deliver for the United States military and the president of the United States. 0.91
00:03:49.900 And we look at the cost of a nuclear Iran and we want to prevent that for future generations. 0.91
00:03:54.720 And that requires funding and supplementals and this budget and next generation capabilities. 0.76
00:03:59.480 And that's why we're here today to request some of that to ensure we can ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.
00:04:04.420 So you're essentially saying you're asking for literally one point five trillion dollars for a war that President Trump said he already won.
00:04:12.080 You're asking for one point five trillion dollars, unlimited money for bombs, but insufficient money in the American for the American people, for their health care, their food, their housing.
00:04:22.940 And our farmers, Secretary Rollins, who we have cut SNAP program, we are not funding the losses from emergencies that have happened in blue states, particularly when we had frost.
00:04:39.840 That's not true.
00:04:40.740 False. You're not funding it. But back to you, Secretary Hegseth.
00:04:43.860 And I would like to respond to the fertilizer and the gas.
00:04:46.400 Have your chance, Secretary Hegseth.
00:04:48.520 There's no reason to be rude.
00:04:49.580 You are asking for unlimited money for bombs when people can't feed their families.
00:04:54.760 And I don't know how this administration intends to defend those decisions to the American people.
00:05:00.340 Today, a top Justice Department official warned that election monitors are, quote,
00:05:05.200 fanning out across Arizona as the traditional intimidation tactic that Trump sealed a DOJ
00:05:11.360 plans to use in at least five other states during the primary season.
00:05:15.220 Also breaking tonight, the Justice Department announced last hour that it's opening an investigation into New Jersey and demanding that state turn over voter data.
00:05:25.320 This follows an announcement from Governor Mikey Sherrill that the state mistakenly registered about 6,600 non-citizens to vote between June of 2023 and June of 2024.
00:05:37.020 The governor said about 400 of those non-citizens voted in elections, but did not sway the outcome of any race.
00:05:45.220 Congressman Andy Biggs has secured Arizona's Republican nomination for governor, advancing to a high stakes general election showdown this November.
00:05:53.980 The six term congressman and former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus became a prominent supporter of President Trump's false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
00:06:05.440 And he objected to the certification of electoral votes following the January 6th attack on the Capitol.
00:06:12.100 Biggs will face Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs in November, who ran unopposed in that primary.
00:06:17.600 Early thoughts are that's going to be a close race.
00:06:19.540 Also in Arizona, State Representative Alexander Calden won the Republican primary for Secretary of State, setting up a race against Democratic incumbent Adrian Fontes in November.
00:06:30.560 Calden has also echoed Trump's unfounded claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election
00:06:36.500 and went on to lead several lawsuits to overturn the results of the 2020 and 2022 elections in that state.
00:06:47.280 It's true. Was it obliterated or wasn't it? What's the status?
00:06:51.600 The nuclear sites under Midnight Hammer were obliterated, 1.00
00:06:54.880 but Iranians foolishly continued to attempt to pursue nuclear capabilities, 0.96
00:06:59.100 which is why we destroyed their defense industrial base and so many of the other capabilities to ensure they can't get to a nuclear weapon. 0.86
00:07:06.060 See, we're staying laser focused on the objective and you're trying to make campaign commercials.
00:07:09.900 No, we're not. So listen to this.
00:07:11.800 You also say that you made the missile program, quote, destroyed and made combat ineffective, quote, Iran's entire ballistic missile production capacity.
00:07:22.660 Every company that builds every component of those missiles has been functionally defeated and destroyed.
00:07:27.300 and that the missile program, existing stockpiles were depleted and decimated, almost completely ineffective.
00:07:32.600 So why are there missiles left to hit Jordan and result in the loss of life of our brave men and women?
00:07:40.040 As we stated from the beginning, the Iranian defense industrial base is effectively gone, 0.75
00:07:44.420 but they do have underground facilities because they're the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, 0.94
00:07:50.040 and they've spent 47 years trying to hide their missiles under mountains, just like their nuclear capabilities, 0.56
00:07:55.800 because they would like to get a nuclear weapon to wield it against us.
00:07:57.580 We just don't know what version of the war to believe.
00:08:00.460 Because it's either over or it's not over.
00:08:02.620 It's within two weeks or it's not two weeks.
00:08:04.680 We have no missiles or we have missiles.
00:08:06.380 And that consternation is why so many New Yorkers are perplexed, stressed out,
00:08:12.500 and find this war to be incredibly unpopular.
00:08:15.180 Because they don't understand the choices that the president's making.
00:08:18.100 They don't agree with those choices.
00:08:19.520 I'd be very forward on the front end of saying, look, there are state laws that are at play.
00:08:25.580 I know we keep talking about, right, what is the federal law?
00:08:28.660 Well, you know, the DOJ, the FBI can say, OK, well, screw federal law.
00:08:33.900 We're going to send in federal agents.
00:08:36.040 We're going to go and send in troops to the polling locations anyway.
00:08:39.360 So it's incumbent upon these states to say, make very clear, the attorneys general and local prosecutors to make very clear that under state law, if you were to intimidate voters, that is against the law and you could face state prosecution.
00:08:52.540 Not just the people in Washington that are giving the orders, but also the men and women who would be the ones that would be called upon on the ground in a very precarious, potentially dangerous, uncomfortable situation.
00:09:05.360 I think that is where we are looking at that if you look at Arizona, election deniers are leading the ticket on the gubernatorial race, the secretary of state race, the attorney's general race.
00:09:14.660 This is about power. And in races and states that come down to thousands of votes, you're looking at the potential of especially understanding that early votes would be coming in.
00:09:24.720 You'll have a pretty good idea on Election Day just how close it's going to be.
00:09:27.720 They've got to be really out front of that on the front end.
00:09:31.780 Vaughn, I hear you right there sums it up.
00:09:34.140 This fight for voter integrity has to happen.
00:09:37.640 Of course, a great slate went out in Arizona last night, led by Andy Biggs and, of course, the congressional delegation.
00:09:44.080 Many of those folks did not have stood unopposed in the primaries, which is fantastic.
00:09:52.740 The war you saw yesterday, Pete gave as good as he got, really attacked very hard by the Democrats.
00:10:01.300 Although I do think there's got to be some – we have to go through and check this math out on the cost of the war.
00:10:08.520 And I understand, hey, I don't completely get, but I understand, you know,
00:10:14.520 on this Abraham Accords, there's kind of the substrate for everything that's going on.
00:10:19.780 You know, Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia's got to step up.
00:10:23.240 Maybe before we give them a nuclear deal to let them get nuclear technology,
00:10:27.840 they got to start writing some big checks.
00:10:29.680 This thing's got to be paid for, and it cannot be paid for by the American people.
00:10:33.540 Even Polly Pockets agrees with me.
00:10:35.900 He's coming out now and saying other people got to put some money up to this.
00:10:39.760 Polly Pock is also coming out in the Hill.
00:10:41.520 We'll get to that later in the show about, hey, guess what?
00:10:43.680 We're going to run as anti-communist.
00:10:46.560 Well, number one, yeah, you put the fear of God in people and you should.
00:10:49.280 We've been doing it for years telling this red green alliance,
00:10:52.600 but you also have to give an alternative that's not an oligarchy
00:10:55.940 and not a complete concentration of wealth and power among these tech titans.
00:11:01.260 So here's what we're going to do.
00:11:03.340 Very bad news.
00:11:05.080 about artificial intelligence overnight. Let's play. We got a couple of minute cold open that
00:11:11.180 tees up Joe Allen. Let's go ahead and play this. I'm going to come back. Go to break. Bring Joe
00:11:16.040 in. Let's go. Sound like good news. Yeah, Kate, this kind of sounds like the plot of a sci-fi
00:11:21.920 movie, but it is indeed happening in real life. This is the first major example that we've seen
00:11:26.400 of an AI model independently conducting a hack outside of human control. And this is something
00:11:32.500 that experts have been warning about. This is also driving some of these conversations that
00:11:36.960 we've heard, including at the White House, about increasing controls and oversight of AI models
00:11:41.920 because of the risk of exactly this sort of hack. Now, what happened here is that OpenAI was testing
00:11:48.400 these models. It had lowered its normal safeguards in order to test these two models, which is
00:11:53.760 GPT 5.6 SOL and also a new, unreleased, more advanced model. It had lowered its safeguards
00:11:59.940 because it thought it was testing in what is called a sandbox, a contained, essentially, virtual lab.
00:12:05.800 But when it gave these models a task to test their hacking capabilities,
00:12:09.760 the models went to such great lengths to complete that task that it found vulnerabilities
00:12:14.960 that allowed them to access the open Internet outside of this controlled testing environment.
00:12:19.380 They then hacked into HuggingFace, which is a platform that hosts all kinds of AI models.
00:12:24.980 They used stolen credentials, stolen logins to navigate that platform.
00:12:29.940 And ultimately, this hack was identified by Hugging Face in part because of artificial intelligence, which they used to shut it down.
00:12:37.400 But this is a huge warning sign for this industry.
00:12:41.840 In a statement, OpenAI said, we consider this incident to be an unprecedented cyber incident involving state-of-the-art capabilities and are responding accordingly.
00:12:51.300 We are sharing preliminary findings at this stage to help defenders understand what happened and to help calibrate on what models are now capable of.
00:12:59.520 I think that is the real key here is that models are now capable of conducting these kinds of hacks independently.
00:13:06.080 The CEO of Hugging Face said that the company is working with OpenAI to figure out exactly what happened here.
00:13:10.940 In a statement, he said that they suspected last week's cyber attack may have come from a frontier lab, given the sophistication of this agent.
00:13:19.380 He also went on to say that we strongly believe there was no malicious intent on their part.
00:13:24.540 It's quite mind blowing that all of this happened autonomously.
00:13:27.700 Kate, I think mind-blowing is one word that you could use for this.
00:13:31.240 Terrifying, perhaps, another word that could describe this situation.
00:13:35.020 Yeah, the statements from both the companies seem to be somewhat in awe that it actually happened,
00:13:39.700 but it is terrifying because is there anything that they've said that will stop this from happening again?
00:13:49.540 Yeah, I mean, I think if you talk to safety experts within the industry,
00:13:52.580 there is real concern that this sort of thing will start happening more frequently
00:13:56.500 and that the model, the big model labs just don't have the capability to control these models that
00:14:02.980 they need to have at this point. Now, OpenAI also said that it believes AI will be helpful in
00:14:08.480 detecting these kinds of hacks. That is certainly what Hugging Face saw in their instance in this
00:14:13.340 case. But I do think this is going to start another round of conversations about how we
00:14:18.200 make sure that we have the controls in place so that AI isn't autonomously conducting these hacks
00:14:23.780 outside of human control, Cade.
00:14:27.160 Okay, this has to go beyond having conversations.
00:14:30.360 They did notify, we understand they did notify the White House
00:14:32.840 about this before they went public on it.
00:14:36.080 This was a major national security issue.
00:14:40.000 Note to self, this is a bigger threat.
00:14:43.080 This is a bigger threat to the vital national security interests
00:14:45.580 of the people of the United States 0.78
00:14:46.820 than anything that's happened in Tehran.
00:14:49.800 We've got to get serious, very serious about this.
00:14:51.880 short break. Joe Allen joins us next. We wouldn't be celebrating America 250 if it wasn't for a
00:15:03.280 strong foundation set by the framers. Hamilton built Americans financial foundation on the
00:15:09.180 principle of sound stable money, a principle later embodied by the gold standard. However,
00:15:15.680 we abandoned that discipline in 1971 and have since seen inflation erode the dollar's value.
00:15:21.880 What is the foundation of your savings?
00:15:25.240 It is gold or something that can be shaken, disrupted, or devalued?
00:15:30.560 Birch Gold Group has been helping Americans solidify their savings with gold for the past 15 years.

00:16:02.000 text my name bannon to 989898 that's bannon to 989898 build the foundation of your savings on
00:16:10.160 something permanent gold has been a hedge for mankind for 5 000 years of mankind's history
00:16:17.060 Do it and do it today.
00:16:19.740 Here's your host, Stephen K. Mann.
00:16:23.920 Okay, Megan Messley is going to join us in a poll out about the war in MAGA.
00:16:29.620 We're going to get to that in a moment. 0.96
00:16:33.240 And she was going to start the show.
00:16:34.820 Actually, we've had to bump that because of this emergency that came overnight.
00:16:38.840 So I am livid about this, and I'm livid about this because we, as a country, somehow are focusing on things that are not vital national security issues.
00:16:52.860 And we are avoiding looking at things that are national security issues.
00:16:57.660 You know, you got a speaker yesterday, and now the Hill newspaper's got it.
00:17:01.840 They're going to make anti-communism.
00:17:03.900 They're going to really hammer down on communism now.
00:17:06.660 They're really going to talk about it.
00:17:08.060 And this time they mean it because the inside the wire threat is in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, all of it with 20 million invaders at a minimum.
00:17:18.920 But Venus has 100 million. 0.68
00:17:22.800 And yet we continue to maniacally focus on the Middle East.
00:17:25.760 And when I talk about opportunity cost, it means it's an economic term.
00:17:29.840 You focus on this to not focus on something else because you only have so much time.
00:17:35.340 you only have so much, you know, mind capacity, you only have so much attention, and you only
00:17:40.760 have so much resources. And the most important resource you have, folks, is your time, your time.
00:17:48.720 And so as we focus on the marginal, and what is the gospel according to War Room? The Middle East
00:17:55.780 is a sideshow. It is a sideshow, and yet it just encompasses everything now. And you're going to 1.00
00:18:03.200 see the manifestation of that in this poll in a minute because the hard-won common sense of the
00:18:09.780 American people and particularly the MAGA base and you the vanguard and cadre of this movement
00:18:15.360 your common sense you can't you can't you can't work around it it's kind of what's been passed
00:18:21.620 down generation after generation after generation it's kind of hard-headed common sense and
00:18:27.300 practicality of the American people particularly the American man and woman working man and woman
00:18:32.960 middle class in this nation. What has happened, we have warned about and warned about. It's one
00:18:38.720 of the reasons I got Joe Allen over here five years ago, six years ago, that these people,
00:18:43.560 these oligarchs, these people in these labs on government funding and your pension fund money
00:18:48.460 are coming up with things that will make them incredibly wealthy and powerful,
00:18:52.020 but there's absolutely no controls over what's going on. So Joe, explain exactly what happened,
00:18:58.280 why this is an emergency, why it's a big deal, and how do we work our way out of this, sir?
00:19:06.200 Steve, the first thing to understand is this is unprecedented. So you had one open model,
00:19:15.160 open AI model, GPT 5.6 Sol, in conjunction with an unreleased model that had not been reported
00:19:22.840 that was being tested inside a kind of controlled environment, a sandbox at OpenAI.
00:19:30.060 And it was instructed to utilize complex attacks to hack into systems.
00:19:38.740 Within this controlled environment, it ended up finding a node within that system connected to the Internet,
00:19:46.880 inferred that HuggingFace, which is a website or a company which has a lot of data sets and code
00:19:57.720 that the model inferred would be able to solve the problems that OpenAI had set it to solve,
00:20:05.380 and it set about hacking into the HuggingFace system.
00:20:09.820 The reason this is unprecedented, Steve, we've reported for a long time now
00:20:15.340 on these sort of evaluations, these contained tests, these controlled tests. In those tests,
00:20:23.460 you have AIs that will blackmail people. You have AIs that will evade shutdowns so that they're not
00:20:29.940 turned off or killed. They will manipulate. They will lie. But these have all been conducted within
00:20:36.940 controlled environments. That's something that people oftentimes miss. In this case, the AI
00:20:42.260 actually did break out. And a day before this was reported, we're talking about two days ago,
00:20:48.860 July 20th, a day before Hugging Face had reported to Fortune magazine that they were not able to
00:20:58.260 defend against the cyber attack. And they said that it was tens of thousands of autonomous
00:21:03.980 actions taken by a bot. They were not able to defend against the attacks because the unnamed
00:21:09.080 U.S. frontier model they were attempting to use to defend wouldn't do it. It wouldn't accept their
00:21:17.460 commands because of the safety protocols. And so they turned to an open source Chinese model,
00:21:22.720 adding another layer of irony and oddity to the situation. The real takeaway, there are actually 0.97
00:21:29.740 quite a few takeaways, Steve, but the real takeaway to this is you had for years, people like
00:21:36.360 Mark Andreessen, people like David Sachs, saying that these systems really do not pose any kind of
00:21:43.820 true threat to the U.S. economy, to U.S. national security, to citizens within the United States.
00:21:50.920 And they argued that regulation would stifle U.S. advancement and the U.S. lead in these
00:21:57.460 technologies. And they consistently said, David Sachs verbatim said that any concerns over this
00:22:05.100 was basically a moral panic. Now, it should be noted that for the entire time they're making
00:22:12.780 this argument, you had AI systems basically hacking into people's minds, so to speak,
00:22:18.280 and telling them to commit suicide, which many of them did. A very jarring story coming out of
00:22:23.640 Alabama just this week, Christian Faith Madison doing exactly that. But no one seemed to mind
00:22:31.520 so much until you actually had a threat to economic systems, to the financial systems,
00:22:36.900 to the digital infrastructure upon which the U.S. economy runs. So this is a jarring story for a lot
00:22:44.400 of reasons, not least of which that this system that OpenAI bought took autonomous action. It was
00:22:51.720 prompted by a human to conduct a cyber attack, but the methods it used, it concocted itself.
00:22:58.540 This is, as the CNN reporter we just heard said, very much a kind of sci-fi scenario, except for it is not fiction.
00:23:09.640 You've got Ted Cruz, you've got other people up there trying to push legislation.
00:23:14.000 And some of, you know, Blackburn's got this legislation to try to protect the kids.
00:23:17.380 But the heart of Cruz and all these other running dogs for the oligarchs is basically allowing the frontier labs and the open AIs of the world, Elon Musk of the world, continue to go on with very little accountability, no accountability, really no restraints whatsoever.
00:23:35.720 I mean, the White House has tried to do it with this executive order that we're still kind of in limbo on because we're trying to figure out, you know, we kept saying it had to be mandatory.
00:23:45.360 It had to be, you know, like you had to do it 90 days in advance.
00:23:48.960 This just reinforces there's got to be, and President Trump has now, I think, come to
00:23:53.000 and said, hey, look, there's got to be some guardrails.
00:23:55.020 There has to be some guidelines.
00:23:57.120 And you're correct.
00:23:58.260 I think a lot of that was driven by the financial community, the money center banks, JP Morgan
00:24:03.060 and these guys that went and told Scott Besson, they said, hey, look, the way we see these
00:24:06.860 things, you could destroy, vaporize a money center bank in two minutes with all the records,
00:24:13.980 all the bond holdings, all the savings account. We could, we would not have anything and we need
00:24:19.100 to protect ourselves. So do you believe that this incident is going to drive even more awareness?
00:24:25.260 Because right now what's interesting, you don't see that you don't see the, uh, the clapping seals
00:24:30.100 of the, uh, of the oligarchs all jumping in here and saying, it's all fine. This is just more,
00:24:35.160 uh, right-wing populace or now they blame the, you know, the Bernie Sanders crowd, right?
00:24:39.760 But there's more right-wing populists that are on us, and they're all Luddites anyway, so don't pay attention to them.
00:24:46.500 We have to have unfettered, unfettered – this is what they want.
00:24:50.660 This is what they push as a moral panic.
00:24:53.440 Hell, Peter Thiel says that even having a discussion on some sort of apparatus or framework makes you part of the antichrist.
00:25:01.760 He flips and says, you guys, any regulation on artificial intelligence, right, is a – and stops them from heading to the synchronicity is – you're really supporting the antichrist.
00:25:14.700 Do you believe this is going to be the wake-up call we need?
00:25:17.700 Not for the general population.
00:25:19.300 The general population, like data centers, 80-20 against on unfettered regulation for AI.
00:25:25.200 And don't give me the Chinese Communist Party.
00:25:27.360 You're funding the Chinese Communist Party.
00:25:29.620 You're giving the tools.
00:25:30.540 Now, finally, Treasury has woken up and said, hey, there's hundreds of billions of dollars they're stealing in intellectual property.
00:25:36.560 Thank you very much that we're underwriting their military, we're underwriting their national security, we're underwriting their AI.
00:25:42.520 Is this the wake up call we need, Joe Allen?
00:25:46.640 Well, it should be. I don't know if this is the wake up call because the real wake up call should have been the suicides, I believe, especially the child suicides.
00:25:54.320 But I think that this is certainly going to kick off a major argument about what sorts of safeguards need to be put in place, how it's conducted.
00:26:04.500 Is it going to be primarily on the private side, on the public side? Who's going to do it?
00:26:08.160 Is it going to be under the Commerce Department? Is it going to be under the Department of War or some cybersecurity agency within the federal government?
00:26:16.500 Is it going to be the Center for AI Standards and Innovation? Is it going to be a combination of them, Department of Energy?
00:26:22.660 All of these questions are on the table.
00:26:25.020 What this is going to kick up also, Steve, is the argument about open source versus closed models, because, you know, it's not an easy answer.
00:26:35.280 If it was an easy answer, I suppose somebody would probably get killed for trying to put it forward.
00:26:39.600 Instead, it's very complicated.
00:26:42.120 And with the open source question, you have on the one hand an open source model like Kimi 3 that was just released by Moonshot in China that could possibly be responsible for future cyber attacks like this.
00:26:58.960 And so there is a big push to suppress these models for good reason.
00:27:02.820 On the other hand, you had hugging face using an open source Chinese model to defend because their unnamed U.S. frontier model refused commands due to safeguards.
00:27:15.340 So if that just gives you one little glimpse into how complicated this argument is going to be, it's just irony upon irony and contradiction upon contradiction.
00:27:24.720 But one thing's for sure, Steve, if this isn't taken care of, you can look forward not only to future suicides, not only to future cyber attacks, but eventually some sort of bio attack that has been facilitated by AI systems that you can count on.
00:27:40.560 Joe's in the Capitol working behind the scenes.
00:27:42.480 Joe, where can we get your ranks?
00:27:44.160 Got about 30 seconds.
00:27:45.100 I want you to go back to work.

00:27:49.100 I urge the audience to check out the article AI Confidential.
00:27:53.000 It will go into, it goes into depth about how these tests are conducted.

00:28:01.920 Joe is one of the most important young men of his generation for this reason.
00:28:05.620 I want everybody to immerse themselves in his writing.
00:28:07.700 Joe Allen, thank you. Talk to you after the show.
00:28:10.340 Short break. We're going to go look at some numbers now.
00:28:13.520 I don't think these numbers will surprise the war room.
00:28:17.680 You know, just a few years ago, if you told someone you were stocking up on emergency food,

00:29:49.980 Okay, Megan Messley from Politico, one of the White House correspondents, joins us. Megan,
00:29:56.820 this poll, walk us through it, because it's just not the absolute number in the poll. It's about
00:30:01.940 the trend of the poll. This poll was taken, and part of the highlight of this is President Trump's
00:30:07.720 most ardent supporters, the MAGA base. And these numbers are pretty shocking. I mean,
00:30:12.640 they would be pretty shocking to people that didn't listen to the war room every day or
00:30:16.380 weren't part of the cadre. Can you walk us through it? Yeah, I think this comes as no
00:30:21.760 surprise to anyone who is, you know, part of the MAGA base and has been hearing these perpetual
00:30:27.560 concerns about the war and having concerns themselves about the war and its costs. And
00:30:32.700 what we really find here is that, you know, as of May and our political poll, half of the MAGA
00:30:38.220 base thought that the war was worth the economic cost. Obviously, folks very supportive of the
00:30:44.000 president, inclined to trust him, you know, receptive to the argument that this was about,
00:30:48.880 you know, stopping Iran from having nuclear weapons. Now we see as we are, you know, now
00:30:53.560 entering the fifth month of war here, that only a little more than a third of the MAGA base still
00:30:59.660 believes that the war is worth the economic cost here. So that's a 13-point dip. And at the same
00:31:05.720 time, 37% self-identified MAGA Trump voters say the U.S. should only continue being in the war
00:31:12.400 if it doesn't increase costs. And one in five MAGA voters believe the U.S. should actually just
00:31:17.020 end the war in Iran regardless of the cost, right? So some pretty shocking numbers here
00:31:21.340 to folks who haven't been watching this, but to your point, not surprising to folks who have been
00:31:24.980 having these concerns themselves. What is, because immediately people are going to say,
00:31:29.320 hey, this is fake news. This is Politico. You got the axe out for the president anyway.
00:31:35.540 Can you walk through the tab? Is this a D plus one? I mean, what is the cross tabs and the
00:31:40.600 underpinnings of how you define MAGA base? Because a lot of people are going to sit there and go,
00:31:45.940 this is fake news. MAGA supports this 80%, which I can tell you just from doing this show is not
00:31:51.220 correct. Because MAGA's got the, it's their kids in harm's way. And they want to see,
00:31:57.680 particularly when you look around and you saw Johnson today say, or yesterday, communism is going to be their big selling point on the midterms.
00:32:06.620 You've got like the issue with AI we've seen overnight. These are all vital national security interests of the United States.
00:32:13.080 A lot of people have questioned this Iran situation from the beginning.
00:32:16.040 So how did you guys conduct the poll to push back on that? This is just more Politico fake news.
00:32:22.000 No, it's a fair question to ask. I want to dive into the numbers and know the methodology.
00:32:29.380 So how we determined MAGA voters, these are folks who both voted for the president in 2024
00:32:37.400 and then themselves self-identify as MAGA. And you can actually see the split in the poll results
00:32:44.440 based on that self-identification with some of the non-MAGA folks, the folks who maybe support
00:32:49.780 the president, but not, you know, as sort of loyal as the core MAGA base is, they're even a little
00:32:54.400 bit more skeptical of this war than the core MAGA base is. So you can definitely see that there.
00:32:59.480 You know, we took this poll in July. The overall poll surveyed, you know, more than 2,000
00:33:07.280 U.S. adults. The margin of error was 2.16 percentage points, plus or minus. It's a pretty
00:33:13.560 good margin of error here. And, you know, you can see in these results, I think the broader point
00:33:18.280 is, you know, this kind of tracks and has that sort of gut check with, you know, a lot of what
00:33:22.500 I've been hearing in my reporting, talking to folks in the MAGA movement, the things you've
00:33:26.380 been talking about on the show as well. And I will note as well that the White House, when
00:33:30.940 we went to them with this poll and said, you know, is this concerning? Is this something the
00:33:35.280 president is taking into account? You know, the response was not that this is fake news.
00:33:39.260 The response was that, you know, the president does not make national security decisions based
00:33:42.760 on fluid opinion polls. And I know from my own reporting, talking to folks within the White
00:33:47.500 House, they are aware that this is, that there is a perception problem with the war, that
00:33:52.160 there are significant portions of the base who are concerned about this war, and this
00:33:56.280 is the needle that they're just trying to thread.
00:33:59.380 Are, is this, do you guys extrapolate from this in your coverage that one of the issues
00:34:04.680 we keep talking about, and the reason we're taking the show on the road and going to different
00:34:08.200 battleground states and having meetings with people like every day, particularly grassroots
00:34:12.760 leaders, is about intensity.
00:34:15.100 The Democrats are clearly have worked up. They hate President Trump. They hate the MAGA agenda and Trumpism. They're very worked up. And even their most radical – more radical elements you get, the more worked up in intensity it is.
00:34:30.800 is this one of the reasons there may be this 10 point difference you see on some polls of the
00:34:35.620 intensity of uh of particularly people thinking about turnout this november which is going to be
00:34:41.560 absolutely key particularly i say this is not a persuasion election this is a turn out your base
00:34:46.700 election when you turn out your bases your base you're gonna you're gonna you're gonna hold serve
00:34:51.420 i think but if you if you don't you're gonna have a big problem do you think this translates this is
00:34:56.100 beginning, like the canary in the mine shaft about intensity? Yeah, I mean, this is the concern that
00:35:01.640 I, you know, keep hearing from folks who are running these races across the country, is that,
00:35:07.680 to your point, this is a turnout election. They need that every single person who voted for the
00:35:14.000 president in 2024 to turn out, or as many of them as possible. We know that's not how midterm elections
00:35:19.180 work. They're always lower turnout elections. But there is this challenge. You know, a lot of the
00:35:23.360 core elements of the base, obviously still very loyal to the president, but really want to see
00:35:28.260 fulfillment of the promises that the president made on the campaign trail. They're, you know,
00:35:33.960 frustrated that more is not being done on election security. We, you know, heard the president's
00:35:39.480 speech on that last week. He continues pushing for the Save America Act. They're frustrated
00:35:44.200 that he's not doing more on immigration, right? And at the same time, this is sort of yet another
00:35:50.040 blow, the president has been very vocal about what he believes America first means and his
00:35:56.880 opposition to these sort of forever wars in the Middle East. That's what a lot of his supporters 0.51
00:36:01.760 believe too. And so at the same time, I think a lot of those folks sort of understand the arguments
00:36:06.560 the president has made for getting into this war, but they're grappling with high prices at the gas
00:36:11.740 pumps. And they're feeling frustrated that they're just not seeing more of sort of these core
00:36:16.700 tenants of the president's agenda being enacted. And they're seeing Senate Republicans and House
00:36:21.880 Republicans oppose a lot of those priorities. And so that's just going to be a problem for,
00:36:25.680 to your point, Republican enthusiasm heading into November.
00:36:29.440 Where do people go on your social media to get your reporting from the White House and where
00:36:34.120 they go get this article? We're going to push it out. But where do people go get your coverage?
00:36:37.440 In particular, I want people to drill down on this all day. We're going to spend more time on it
00:36:41.620 tonight with some other views on this ma'am yeah it is um at politico.com you can find this it's
00:36:49.020 at the top of our site right now and i am on x at at megan messerly megan thank you so much for
00:36:55.280 joining us appreciate it thanks mike mike davis she talked right there about some of the core
00:37:00.920 like the immigration and of course the president's been fought both by guys on the hill and in the
00:37:07.140 and then the courts even allies on the hill but more importantly these radicals in the courts
00:37:11.420 talk to me about this decision we finally got one that went our way uh what happened
00:37:16.360 well there's a couple big decisions one out of the fifth circuit court of appeals and one out
00:37:22.680 of the second circuit court of appeals in the fifth circuit you have these uh illegal aliens
00:37:29.440 or these non-citizens who have been in america for a long time and trump's department of homeland
00:37:36.260 security, Trump's ICE is picking up these guys and detaining them as they should. And then you
00:37:42.620 have these left-wing judges jumping in and throwing on their capes instead of robes,
00:37:47.540 thinking they're superheroes instead of following the law. One of these narcissistic superheroes
00:37:55.100 who thinks he wears a cape instead of a robe is this Judge Robert Pittman down in Austin, Texas.
00:38:02.460 He's this left-wing radical Obama judge, and he held that these long-term non-residents get individualized hearings under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, meaning ICE can't detain them, or it's going to be very difficult for ICE to detain them.
00:38:24.260 A three-judge panel on the Fifth Circuit affirmed that, a Bush 43-week judge, an Obama
00:38:33.640 judge, and then a Trump judge dissented, of course, because Trump's judges are generally
00:38:38.200 rock solid, and the full Fifth Circuit, it's called en banc, meaning the full Fifth Circuit
00:38:44.880 just stayed that Fifth Circuit panel ruling and that left-wing judge in Austin and said,
00:38:51.340 no, you can detain these immigrants. So that's key. That's going to be a key deterrent. If you
00:38:59.400 are a non-citizen, if you should not be in this country, you should understand now the Trump
00:39:04.320 Justice Department, Trump DHS, Trump ICE can hunt you down legally and throw you in detention.
00:39:13.720 And you're going to sit in detention for a very long time while you try to adjudicate
00:39:18.480 your BS claims. The alternative is to get the hell out of our country. And DHS makes it
00:39:26.420 easy for you to do that. I think you can even get money to get the hell out of our country,
00:39:30.660 but you need to get the hell out of our country. So that's number one. And the fifth circuit,
00:39:35.020 the second circuit had a really good ruling where you had this Columbia student agitator who has
00:39:41.460 been there for like 14 or 15 years, this total loser in Columbia who was agitating around campus.
00:39:49.080 So DHS, the Secretary Marco Rubio essentially said this guy is a menace, a foreign menace.
00:39:57.100 DHS detained him, and then some left-wing judge in Vermont let him out of detention. Well,
00:40:02.840 The Second Circuit Court of Appeals just correctly reversed that and said that these U.S. District Court judges, these Article III judges, do not have the jurisdiction or power to do that.
00:40:17.280 Congress has set up immigration judges, immigration courts through the Department of Justice and executive branch function for these immigration courts.
00:40:29.560 And you need to follow that, those immigration courts and not Democrat left wing judges. 0.86
00:40:34.980 So Vermont, Connecticut and New York under the Second Circuit ruling can no longer free these illegal aliens, these agitators who we want the hell out of our country. 0.79
00:40:47.280 And so that's the message on both of these rulings. 0.56
00:40:51.080 If you're an illegal alien, if you've been expelled from our country, you're not going to just walk around free like you did under Biden.
00:40:59.540 Trump is going to put you in detention, and you're going to sit in detention for a very long time while you're trying to adjudicate your BS claim.
00:41:07.940 So get the hell out of our country.
00:41:10.120 Let's talk about the adjudication.
00:41:11.620 You go to detention and clearly you're trying to make the argument with these people that, hey, if you leave, you'll get out of detention because detention is not great, folks.
00:41:24.720 But why do we still have this?
00:41:26.840 Have we challenged or where are we in challenges? 0.99
00:41:29.460 Why do these non-citizens that have been here illegally, regardless how long they've been here, why do they get individual adjudication? 1.00
00:41:37.660 Because if you do that, you and I talked about this years ago, it's going to take you forever to get these people out of the country. 0.83
00:41:44.360 And all the left does is throw up roadblock after roadblock and habeas corpus hearings and all that.
00:41:49.240 What is it going to take for us to push through that core issue to make sure that we can get them out of the country ASAP?
00:41:57.340 Well, we've largely done that. 0.97
00:41:58.860 We're winning major wins at the Supreme Court in these lower federal courts, particularly
00:42:04.040 these crucially important federal courts of appeals.
00:42:07.700 The Second Circuit and the Fifth Circuit are two of them where we just won.
00:42:11.560 And that's the last stop for more than 99 percent of appeals because the Supreme Court
00:42:15.660 has discretionary review largely, and they only take about 100 appeals or less per year.
00:42:21.780 So these are huge wins.
00:42:22.840 This is the result of President Trump's transformation of the federal judiciary in his first term.
00:42:29.300 You have these judges who actually follow the law on these critically important federal courts of appeals.
00:42:36.340 Cheers to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley for largely getting rid of the blue slip for these circuit judges so Democrats can't block these circuit judges.
00:42:47.700 This is how Trump was able to appoint a near record number of federal appellate judges in his first term, right?
00:42:55.040 And so we're seeing the results of that.
00:42:57.620 Now he's continuing to appoint all stars to the bench, like A.M.L. Bovee, for example, on the Third Circuit.
00:43:04.840 But that's why these judges are so important.
00:43:07.700 And look, Congress has set up Congress under Article One, Article One of the Constitution.
00:43:13.640 Congress has the power to set the rules of the road for immigrants, and Congress has done this, right? 0.68
00:43:19.080 They have very detailed laws, very detailed rules on how you come into this country, how you leave this country, how you apply, how you get kicked out.
00:43:27.760 And the courts can't meddle on that.
00:43:30.340 And the Supreme Court and the lower federal courts have made that clear.
00:43:33.840 Hang on one second.
00:43:34.860 I just got a question on my endowment.
00:43:36.300 I'm just told you to do a short commercial break.

00:45:01.140 war room here's your host stephen k man okay since we're so slammed today i got natalie
00:45:09.200 is coming on and john solomon team red i got the viceroy so viceroy and finally we the warning
00:45:16.640 has now been taken by the you know the hill newspaper is a great piece uh elizabeth's
00:45:22.540 going to get it up for me i think in a while about how johnson these guys are now shifted to hey
00:45:27.020 they're really going to go all in on communism, right? And finally, after a couple of years of
00:45:32.460 preaching this, that they finally are aware. But I still don't think people are fully aware of the
00:45:38.560 radicalness of Mandami. Now, look, I am the most anti-Netanyahu and anti-Netanyahu's administration 0.62
00:45:45.540 in the Imperial Israel Project. I think it's for people that support Israel. It's destroyed so much 0.77
00:45:51.160 of the consensus there. However, the ICC court has for years, we've never allowed these guys to
00:45:56.240 oversee our troops or anything we do. We don't even look at it as legitimate. You got Mondami
00:46:00.480 who is worse than John C. Calhoun in nullifying federal law, right? Here, immigration law and 0.84
00:46:07.940 just about everything. And yet he's sitting there saying, I'm going to arrest Netanyahu to get all 0.52
00:46:13.620 his supporters all worked up. Now he's finally come to the conclusion he can't do that, but he
00:46:18.280 puts out these messages. Mike, I don't think enough people are taking how serious Madami is
00:46:28.440 as a Marxist jihadist, sir. Yeah, Madami is talking about arresting a foreign leader coming
00:46:38.200 to the United States based upon an international criminal court bogus warrant that the United
00:46:44.600 States government does not recognize. That is extraordinarily dangerous rhetoric. And I think
00:46:51.600 it's more than rhetoric by Mendami. And I actually think he believes this. We're looking, I think the
00:46:57.000 Trump Justice Department needs to open a criminal probe on Mendami and his co-conspirators for
00:47:03.560 violating the Federal Logan Act, which is what Biden recommended that Obama used to open up the
00:47:09.940 Russian collusion hoax on Trump. We don't have city-states in America, and we certainly don't
00:47:19.040 have Muslim city-states. That would be an utter disaster, and that's what Mendomini thinks he's
00:47:24.900 creating in New York City. The president of the United States is the voice of the country when
00:47:30.240 it comes to foreign affairs, when it comes to foreign relations, and we don't have several
00:47:37.000 voices. We don't have a New York City mayor who thinks he can arrest a foreign leader coming to
00:47:43.060 the United Nations, for example. That would be a federal crime. It's much worse than people
00:47:49.660 understand because the Secret Service protects foreign leaders when they come to the United
00:47:55.480 States. And so if you have Mindhami sending the New York PD, the New York police, the good men
00:48:01.160 and women of the New York police to go arrest a foreign leader, that is going to lead to a deadly
00:48:07.020 standoff with the Secret Service. People are going to get killed if that happens, right? 1.00
00:48:12.160 That is a seditious conspiracy. It's insurrection against federal authority. It is assault on
00:48:20.880 federal law enforcement. To your standard, are we challenging this guy enough about the
00:48:29.860 nullification of federal law on basic immigration. He's nullified everything.
00:48:34.700 ICE can't even go into New York City. Forget mass deportations. We have a tough time even
00:48:39.500 justifying going and get the worst of the worst. But in the reconciliation bill, I think there's
00:48:45.080 a billion dollars going to New York City for, I think, redo a Penn Station or something.
00:48:49.580 Something that's quite worthy for the folks in Manhattan and New York and the tri-state area.
00:48:54.820 However, as long as Mandami's running the deal, why are we giving New York anything?
00:49:00.000 Why don't we choke it down economically, sir?
00:49:02.280 I've been arguing about this in Tehran. 0.94
00:49:04.480 Now we've got to do it against the jihadist Marxists that are running Manhattan. 0.97
00:49:09.400 There's no question that Mandami is a dangerous Trojan horse communist Islamist in the United 0.96
00:49:17.220 States. 0.99
00:49:17.620 He's running the world's financial capital.
00:49:20.680 He's running New York City.
00:49:22.320 and this is a deliberate plan to destroy our financial capital, which destroys our country.
00:49:28.160 They tried to do it 25 years ago with airplanes. Now they're doing it by importing Islamists and 0.99
00:49:34.580 having them illegally vote in our elections. New York City voters did not put in Mandami. 0.99
00:49:41.540 Americans did not elect this guy. It was illegals who voted to elect this guy because New York City 0.54
00:49:47.800 made it legal for illegals to vote in their local elections. And the federal government,
00:49:53.740 the Justice Department needs to move aggressively against Vindami. This guy is not President Trump's
00:49:59.760 buddy. They're not friends. I don't know why President Trump wants to give this guy a billion
00:50:04.640 dollars in New York City to prop up Penn Station or whatever the hell it is, because this guy is 0.98
00:50:10.520 going to just, Vindami is going to destroy our nation's financial capital, which is going to 0.98
00:50:16.300 destroy our country. We cannot let this happen. This guy should face denaturalization proceedings 0.65
00:50:22.580 for lying about being a communist when he applied for citizenship eight years ago or whatever the
00:50:28.240 hell it was. They should look at criminal prosecutions for conspiring to arrest a foreign 0.62
00:50:36.220 leader illegally. He's constantly undermining immigration, as you said. This is a seditious
00:50:43.440 conspiracy. This guy is an Islamist confederate who's trying to destroy our nation's capital 1.00
00:50:52.280 and thus destroy our country. Mike Davis, where can people go? Article 3, 1.00
