00:08:37.340on election day was an existential threat. It was an existential threat to the Democratic Party,
00:08:43.560perhaps. But I thought that was revealing. And then, of course, there was so much else going on.
00:08:49.920You know, we didn't even get into some of the other stuff. But I thought that Director Patel
00:08:55.560was strong. He was prepared. He was articulate. And he had a complete understanding of what was
00:09:03.620going on on the field in front of him. And he was that's how he was able to handle all comers, Steve.

00:18:11.800he organized it. But actually, he made his name years earlier in the 1950s, writing about the
00:18:20.080nuclear threat and arms control. And in fact, he was arguing at the time that the US should move
00:18:30.020towards, and the Soviet Union should move towards smaller weapons, battlefield weapons,
00:18:35.020to avoid this total annihilation. It was a controversial idea then. It's still controversial
00:18:39.720today. In his later years, just before he died, he died in 2023 at the age of 100,
00:18:47.440he became an AI doomer. And he became convinced that AI was far more powerful, far more destructive.
00:18:55.640And he was incredibly prescient about this way before ChatGPT, way before Silicon Valley had
00:19:02.060woken up to this threat. Kissinger got it. And he said, look, AI is far more powerful than nuclear.
00:19:08.280It can destroy anything, anybody, anywhere with any form of destruction, not just nuclear, biological pestilence.
00:19:20.460He thought it could actually destroy human thought.
00:19:22.760He thought actually it could destroy the human mind.
00:19:25.180It could destroy human beings as human beings.
