00:31:30.180 did from the get go was very strategic on the part of the president. We understood that what

00:31:38.420 we're going to try with the IEPA tariffs had a 50 50 chance of succeeding. And I do think the

00:31:45.420 Supreme Court made a wrong decision. But but they left the door open. But no, they did better than

00:31:51.740 that. But we did a dual track approach where the IEPA reciprocal tariffs allowed us to immediately

00:32:03.440 put pressure on every single country that was screwing us. And through that pressure,

00:32:10.220 negotiating leverage. And that set in motion a series of negotiations where we began almost

00:32:17.860 immediately to bargain down tariffs and non-tariff barriers against us. So it was very

00:32:23.940 successful. They were lined up at the USTR's door begging for things. And at the same time,

00:32:32.400 the contingency part of the strategy was to develop the 232s, Section 232s. Those are the

00:32:41.340 commodities, not just steel, aluminum, copper, critical minerals, all sorts of things through

00:32:49.460 commerce and Howard Lutnick leading that. And then you had the 301s with Jamison Greer at the USTR,

00:32:58.240 which are country-specific. So 301s, country, 232s, commodities, IEPA as a way of initially

00:33:05.420 generating pressure. And so we knew that even if the Supreme Court were to reject the IEPAs,

00:33:13.220 by the time that would happen, we would have advanced the football way down the field on the

00:33:21.180 232s and the 301s and some of the other actions we were taking. And that's how it unfolded. And

00:33:28.060 what the Supreme Court did, it wasn't the best outcome, but it was damn near the best outcome

00:33:34.000 in the sense of even though it struck down wrongly, I believe, the IEPA tariffs, it explicitly said,

00:33:41.080 hey, President Trump can use other authorities like 232 and 301. And so the field is clear now,

00:33:50.640 and because the news cycle really doesn't cover this much, there isn't knowledge of the fact that

00:33:58.560 we've got 232s fully deployed. We've got 301s fully deployed and growing. And we're also doing

00:34:08.200 things with export controls, which are very interesting. And I personally, Steve, have been

00:34:13.560 working on the critical mineral rare earth issue. And I have, there's one partnership I'm working

00:34:21.000 with, which is, I think, going to be the model for how we beat China, because what we've done, 0.95

00:34:26.040 We've taken an industry where China uses its cheap labor, toxic environmental regulations in developing oxides for rare earth, and we figured out a way to do it cleaner and cheaper and thereby do an end run around their dominance. 0.88
