00:01:48.940Brian, I hate to say for a lot of the folks down the Carl Rose of the world,
00:01:57.240and Jordan Boyd, who's a native of Lubbock, Texas, she's going to join us.
00:02:02.600She's done the analysis about how the political class down there sold out their voters.
00:02:07.020But you have been hammering that for years on this very show.
00:02:10.060I want to quickly just give a because I know you've got a bolt here in halfway through this through this first hour.
00:02:19.080I want to your assessment of what happened the other day.
00:02:23.420And and then I want to talk about this tweet that you put up that's gone mega viral about the action that needs to be taken by Abbott, Governor Abbott and his team today, sir.
00:02:34.420Yeah, absolutely. Great to be with you. And look, there's no way to sugarcoat what happened on Tuesday.
00:02:39.280It was an absolute bloodbath for Republicans broadly.
00:02:43.620But look, I think it was especially more so than the Democrats winning.
00:02:48.040I actually think this was a stunning rebuke of the establishment so-called Republican class
00:02:54.560that has controlled the Austin Uniparty for far too long.
00:02:58.420I mean, I think that's much more what happened.
00:02:59.920It's not that the Democrat candidates were that much better.
00:03:02.240I know all of them. I serve all of them. They're not compelling.
00:03:04.440You know, it's not like the message of socialism was that much more attractive to Texans.
00:06:32.900Even in hindsight of defeat here, call us back for a special session.
00:06:37.140Let's protect the separation of powers in the Constitution.
00:06:40.520And something I've been calling for for years.
00:06:41.560no governor of either party should have total unchecked executive power to govern by executive
00:06:49.220fiat or by edict. I mean, and this isn't just academic. Gina Hinojosa has said she's going to
00:06:54.240use the governor's emergency powers on the first day she's elected in office. And people forget0.97
00:06:59.000that in Texas, many people are shocked to learn that in the state of Texas, the governor, anytime
00:07:03.640there's an emergency and it's the governor who decides when there's an emergency, has all the
00:07:08.200powers of a dictator. A governor of the state of Texas can write any law, they can edit any law,
00:07:12.560they can ignore, they can effectively delete laws, including border security laws, including
00:07:19.000pro-life laws, okay, including laws to protect our oil and gas industry here in the state of Texas,
00:07:25.680all right, including our laws to keep violent, repeat criminals from ending up on the streets.1.00
00:07:31.200Gina Hinojosa will have the power to waive or edit almost all of those laws, and if we don't1.00
00:07:35.940do something to stop that and protect separation of powers over the next 10 weeks, there won't be1.00
00:07:40.440a thing the legislature could do about it. Because even if she wants to do something, even if somehow
00:07:44.920the House and Senate passed a bill to stop her, guess what? She's got the veto authority. So the0.99
00:07:50.140Texas legislature, the governor of the state of Texas, the lieutenant governor, and the Texas
00:07:54.260House and Senate, we have got still the constitutional prerogative and responsibility
00:08:00.140to govern for the next 10 weeks. And we have got to do the right thing and protect separation of
00:08:05.220powers and make sure that Gina Hinoosa does not impact all of the power of a dictator. And quite0.97
00:08:10.520frankly, I need to make this point too. This isn't a new thing for me. I filed this exact piece of
00:08:15.300legislation exactly four years ago when a guy named Greg Abbott was just reelected because no
00:08:20.240governor of either party should have these powers. But the mainstream media doesn't want to pay that
00:08:24.940heart of attention. They want to make this some point of hypocrisy that I was happy for Abbott
00:08:29.940to have these powers, but now that the Democrats win, I want to strip the Democrats of these powers.
00:08:33.520No, I've been fighting for this for years, but with the Democrats now inheriting the governor's mansion, it is more imperative than ever.
00:08:41.600And I'm sorry, as far as I'm concerned, any delay is nothing more than acquiescence to the leftists who wants to destroy freedom in the state of Texas.
00:08:51.300Brian, also in his use of it, I mean, when he actually used this, when Abbott used it, like on the border security, it became totally performative.
00:09:00.300Now, there are some assets down there. We're going to get Todd Benzman.
00:09:03.520but the radical Democrat that's coming in, I mean, her plan, I think, is to turn Texas into0.99
00:09:10.220a sanctuary state immediately, sir. Well, and if we do not repeal, I mean, I cannot,
00:09:15.980this isn't hyperbole. This isn't rhetoric. This isn't exaggerative, you know, speech or whatever.
00:09:22.460This is true. And the governor of the state of Texas needs to hear me. He has not responded to
00:09:27.460my letter, but listen to me. If we do not act, Governor Gina Hinojosa will have all the power
00:09:34.260she needs to undo effectively every single border security law, okay, that we have here in the state
00:09:41.100of Texas and make it very easy for not just our state as a whole, but liberal, you know, blue1.00
00:09:47.840cities within our state to, with impunity, pursue sanctuary city policies within our borders. We
00:09:55.440have got to take away gina hinojosa's unchecked executive emergency because think about this all0.91
00:10:01.960she would have to do is say you know what i'm going to declare an emergency you know you say
00:10:05.120the border is a problem i agree i'm going to declare an emergency for the border but what0.97
00:10:08.380am i going to do with it this is gina hinojosa talking she's going to strike down by fiat by
00:10:13.420executive action all of the the actual things that we did we didn't do enough on border security in
00:10:18.020our legislation but we did some things nothing would stop her from undoing it nothing uh all
00:10:22.540of our pro-life laws. No, our laws to protect the oil and gas industry. She could undo those. She0.99
00:10:27.660could waive them by executive fiat. But Republicans, Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, the leadership of the
00:10:33.100House and Senate, we have 10 weeks where we could stop her. Quite frankly, it's outrageous that this
00:10:37.460wasn't ended many, many years ago. And people forget, we've seen this happen during COVID
00:10:42.060under Greg Abbott. People went to jail in Texas, in COVID, for violating laws that no member of
00:10:48.140legislature ever voted on. We cannot give Gina Hinojosa and the radical Democrats that kind of
00:10:55.300power. We have 10 weeks to stop it. It's imperative that we act and we need to act now.
00:11:00.100To some of your critics, particularly on the left, I just want to reemphasize or have you
00:11:03.780reemphasize at one point. This is Brian Harrison, just didn't think this up the other day and write
00:11:07.980this letter. You, when Greg Abbott won his third term, walk me through it. You came out as a,
00:11:14.460It's one of the reasons we said, whoa, this guy used to be in the Trump administration.
00:11:19.180He's on fire because he's going after the political class of the Republican Party, the Bush political order down there.
00:11:26.940Walk me through what you did four years ago on this very topic.
00:11:31.320I mean, CNN personality and Keith Olbermann.
00:11:33.680I mean, my demands here was effectively my demands to adhere to the Constitution.
00:11:40.300Last I checked, we all took an oath of the Constitution.
00:11:42.360Well, the Constitution requires separation of powers.
00:11:45.320But my post that we do this has made low IQ leftists all across the country absolutely apoplectic because they're trying to lie to people and say, oh, this is some point of hypocrisy.
00:11:58.500The Democrats win and, you know, Brian wants to take away the power that he's enjoyed.0.79
00:23:32.540So I think it's fair to conclude that when they get into office, they're going to issue orders that even what I was watching them do here in Texas, I'm in Austin, that they'll stop even that, which is effectively making Texas a sanctuary jurisdiction.
00:23:54.680I mean, if you're not allowing that to happen, ICE is going to be out there operating just like it does in other sanctuary jurisdictions like New York, California.
00:24:22.620They can go into blue jurisdictions whose police departments are not into this and they can they have, you know, broad reach and they're smart.
00:24:32.800They understand how to spot them and how to how to, you know, collaborate with ICE in a way that produces a lot of arrests.
00:24:44.220When you say this, I want to go back to something and I want you to stay through the break.
00:24:48.640We've got a lot more to drill down on this on Texas as a potential sanctuary state that could happen very quickly.
00:24:55.580When you said mass deportations, you know, we've had Mike Howell and others, these great warriors on the immigration front,
00:25:03.000have formed this thing called the Mass Deportation Coalition.
00:25:06.620And I was fortunate enough to speak at the Young Republicans of Texas convention they had a couple of weeks ago,
00:25:16.080which had all these young folks there and they were fired up about mass
00:25:20.700deportations. And, uh, and Mike Howell gave a barn burner speech.
00:25:24.760Are there really mass deportations? Have there been mass deportations?
00:25:29.340The operant word there mass deportations going on in Texas to date,
00:25:33.300or is it just a series of onesies Tuesdays?
00:25:36.720I mean, first of all, I'm involved in that. I'm, I know all those guys,
00:25:40.760mike and appreciate what they're doing uh i am down with their goals uh mass deportation is a
00:25:49.040very subjective term uh i will say that uh the numbers of arrests are ramping up hugely right
00:25:58.180now 50 60 000 a month uh that is not as many as we're coming over the border but remember the
00:26:05.040people coming over the border were all turning themselves in. They were give ups. These guys are
00:26:11.280all on the run. So you got to just hunt them down. They're going to be less that you're catching than
00:26:16.420were coming in initially. My understanding is that there's maybe 50,000 to 60,000 arrests a month
00:26:25.420and about 10,000 a month less deportations,
00:26:29.740actual asses in airplane seats flying out to other countries.
00:26:47.620I don't know if they're going to do it.
00:26:49.040I don't know why they're not going to do it, probably for political reasons.
00:26:51.980they're not going to please the mass deportation quote-unquote people and they're not going to
00:26:58.040they're definitely not going to please the democrats on that but the numbers are climbing
00:27:03.340i know that for a fact the numbers are climbing the big beautiful uh budget money uh is is being
00:27:12.940spent the ice officers are being hired uh eight ten twelve thousand hired and detention space
00:27:22.640is being built out and we needed to have that infrastructure paid for and built before we
00:27:28.540could really get to good numbers it took a long time i mean there was an opposition in congress
00:27:34.280remember all the big fight about the big beautiful budget bill ice had to have that money before it
00:27:39.840get it underway i'm not so sure they're going to get it all because there's going to be another
00:27:43.420fight anyway todd stick with us texas is a sanctuary state things that have to happen
00:27:47.680we're going to ask todd to draft off of what brian harrison is saying we need this petition
00:27:54.280can we make sure mo and grace we get it out there um jordan boyd's going to join us about what
00:28:00.200happened and why in the great state of texas todd benson of heritage is going to stick with us
00:28:04.420Jordan's from the Federalist. Stick around. It's about Texas in the first hour.
00:28:11.500It's going to be about the lame duck in the second.
00:28:16.660As President Trump continues to fight for this great country, one of his most important actions could soon impact the wealth of millions of hardworking Americans like you.
00:28:26.780Of course, you won't hear about this in the mainstream media or on the nightly news.
00:28:31.540They'll never admit Trump was right about anything.
00:28:35.560But according to my dear friend and frequent war room guest, Jim Rickards, President Trump has a plan that could unlock an estimated $2.7 trillion in American resources, creating opportunities that many investors may not even realize exist.
00:28:51.260Jim recently put together a new presentation explaining what he believes is happening, why it matters and what Americans should be watching right now.
00:28:59.620To get the full story, go to RickardsWarRoom.com.
00:29:03.860That's RickardsWarRoom.com and watch Jim's free presentation.
00:32:58.880In fact, I think Beau French ran even better than Abbott and his ticket.
00:33:02.420So walk through your analysis today, which I think is a great counterpunch to how Karl
00:33:07.980Rove and that team are trying to spin it in Texas. Because Texas, I'm telling people, unless you get
00:33:13.240on top of this thing like now, and we turn this Texas situation around, you lose Texas, you're
00:33:18.400going to lose this country. Ma'am, the floor is yours. Yeah, things look really dire after Tuesday,
00:33:24.300right? But the idea that this had something to do with candidate quality is ludicrous. And all it
00:33:29.520takes is one look at the data to suggest that that's insane. Beau French at one point was
00:33:34.780outperforming Abbott. And there were people out there, political analysts or people in the press,
00:33:39.820the corporate media, finger wagging Texans saying, oh, you know, Beau French's Twitter is the reason
00:33:45.780that you guys lost the entire state. And that couldn't be further from the truth. This didn't
00:33:49.800have anything to do with Paxton's history, personal history or allegations or the impeachment
00:33:55.540shenanigans that happened. This had everything to do with Texans are frustrated with elitism.
00:34:01.400They're frustrated with the administrations and the people that they elect to go to Washington immediately turning their backs on them and betraying them.
00:34:10.400And that's why we saw Cornyn lose so badly in the primary runoff.
00:34:15.080And here he is this morning in The Wall Street Journal, finger wagging his state and finger wagging his party, the party that he is exiting, because he got voted out and saying, well, you guys just need to be more likable and you lost an opportunity at progress.
00:34:28.780This man is still sitting in the Senate and has an opportunity to do something before the new Democrats are sworn in.
00:34:35.660And he's telling Texans, well, you betrayed me by, you know, voting me out of office.
00:34:41.000And it couldn't be further from the truth. It's the complete opposite.
00:34:45.300Why did the Bush, Junta, why did the Bush, Abbott and these guys, plus running for a fourth term, I think a lot of people are just saying, hey, maybe you've been there too long.
00:34:52.800But they govern. We have Brian Harrison and all these grassroots leaders on all the time saying how they essentially are partnered with the Democrats.
00:35:03.740This is how you have a guy like Tallarico in the Texas House can say he co-sponsored 60 bills because they've given him a position of authority where it should be totally run by conservatives and MAGA and Texas Republicans.
00:35:18.880to walk us through how is the political class down there not served their voters i mean it's
00:35:24.920pretty obvious if you spend time down there you realize the the republican political class in the
00:35:30.400great state of texas has contempt for their voter base this is why avid and these guys were always
00:35:36.480so late to the most basic issues like border security deportations except everything that
00:35:42.500everything that they do there it's a really the tip of a political bayonet to force them to do
00:35:48.120But where did this contempt for the great citizens of Texas? Because, you know, it's a second largest state. It's got an amazing economy, amazing people.
00:35:57.640And the base down there is the most powerful base, even more so than Florida and Ohio. It is the railhead of the MAGA movement.
00:36:05.460What is where is the contempt come from? Yeah, I always tell people Texans are conservatives.
00:36:11.380The people they elect, they're not. And it's true. I mean, we've seen a lot of shenanigans in the Texas ledge, even where Republicans partner with Democrats, and we now have seen it on a national level with John Cornyn and other people.1.00
00:36:23.060So this contempt is not unique to Texas, right? We see this throughout the Republican Party on a national level.
00:36:29.920I mean, just look at the GOP-controlled Senate right now. They had a Republican trifecta, an opportunity to pass key legislation that Americans wanted, like the Save America Act.
00:36:40.500And they turned their backs on these people. So this is just a reflection of that. Unfortunately, in Texas, there's like a specific group of people that continue to fund this elitism, that continue to fund this contempt.
00:36:51.520And a lot of that has to do with how Cornyn got in office, the Bush family, you know, kind of siding with Tallarico in this election, going against Trump the last 10 years.
00:37:02.620It's horrible. It's horrific. It's horrific for Texans who are living here to now see that their state has turned blue under their very eyes.
00:37:10.860And like you said, the time to act is now. This is a dire situation. This is not something that we can sit on our hands about.
00:37:16.900People need to recognize the moment. And this doesn't happen just, you know, overnight. Democrats have been working for a long time to turn Texas blue. And they were helped by Abbott importing hundreds of thousands of foreigners or, you know, building incentives for people to move from Democrat states like California to move their corporations for tax breaks here and then import all of these, you know, completely ideologically different people into our state.
00:37:42.220this was not, this did not happen in a vacuum. This was something that was happening years after
00:37:46.960years. People were canary in the coal mine about it and, uh, our elected leaders ignored it.
00:37:53.020No, I mean, Abbott was the biggest sponsor of, uh, not simply data centers, but data centers paid
00:37:58.480for, paid for by working people by the property taxes to give these huge tax breaks. And only
00:38:04.000after it became evident that data centers were going to become a, or a manifestation of people's
00:38:09.400contempt for the tech oligarchs that did he shift but it was way too late jordan you say this a dire
00:38:15.080moment you've got to recognize this situation what do you think being a native texan and a
00:38:19.740conservative describe the moment and what do you think has to happen because before anything else
00:38:25.800needs to be dealt with i think the mega movement and conservatives need to deal with texas
00:38:31.060immediately they have all kinds of plans this is what harrison harrison on here about about this
00:38:36.520emergency powers of the government which he has fought uh from a few years ago when abbott won
00:38:41.780his fourth term because they're going to very rapidly try to turn texas into a sanctuary state
00:38:46.600once you turn texas into sanctuary state it's katie bar the door so ma'am the moment we're in
00:38:52.140the recognition of that moment and how do you see a path forward well like you said at the top of
00:38:58.320this segment you have to identify what went wrong before you can fix it and blaming it on candidate
00:39:03.800quality isn't going to cut it. We've got the Iran war. We've got affordability. I mean, I went to
00:39:08.680the Trump rally in Lubbock one week before Election Day. Lubbock is a Republican stronghold. There was
00:39:13.340no reason Trump should have been there unless they knew things were going to be bad. And the people
00:39:17.740I talk to, especially the young people, are so concerned about their ability to afford a home
00:39:22.420or find a job when they're competing with people coming in on H-1B visas. These are the real issues
00:39:27.760that are facing Americans on a daily basis. And what we've seen over and over and over and what
00:39:32.380we're seeing now, even in this election postmortem, is that people don't want to deal with those
00:39:36.920issues. You know, they want to avoid saying the Iran war played a big role in this. They want to
00:39:40.620avoid saying affordability and gas prices was one of the reasons that some people flipped or just
00:39:44.640didn't show up at all. So identifying that J.D. Vance's tweet yesterday was a great start of
00:39:50.420saying, hey, yeah, you know, the war did play a big role here. Not blaming candidate quality. It's
00:39:54.880not candidate quality if the ballot up and down goes Democrat, you know, and speaking of candidate
00:39:59.400quality. Democrats didn't exactly have the most quality candidates in terms of what their party
00:40:03.760wants. Right. So it wasn't candidate quality. It had everything to do with the war, with
00:40:08.200affordability, with people being fed up with elitism. They wanted America first. That's why
00:40:13.240they voted for Trump in 2024. And they need to see that out of more people than Trump. And they
00:40:17.660need to see that out of him, too, with this war. Jordan, where do we get you over the Federalist
00:40:46.540and we get more into these specific policies
00:40:49.240that will avoid us having Texas as a sanctuary state.
00:40:52.600Texas becomes a sanctuary state. You've got even a bigger mountain to climb. Todd Benzman.
00:40:59.580Well, first of all, as a Texas resident, I know exactly what she's talking about with the
00:41:05.460Californians being imported in here. I think that that whole thing needs to be deconstructed here1.00
00:41:11.500as well, because I live in Austin and, you know, I've watched Austin just get congested and crowded
00:41:20.360with Californians. Every other guy around here is a Californian and also an H-1B visa holder.
00:41:26.820We've got lots of H-1Bs where I live. Now, they're not supposed to be voting,1.00
00:41:32.500Wink, but the Californians certainly are. And Elon Musk is here. And I don't know how many he
00:41:38.660brought in from where, but the point is, is I'm not even sure you can control that, right? I mean,
00:41:43.880that's growth. So there's an argument on the other side, but certainly politically,
00:41:50.360uh republicans could be working on that issue maybe you can flip them maybe you can you know
00:41:56.120build a counter movement against that sort of importation a lot of people um as for harrison
00:42:03.960this morning i gotta admit i had not heard about that i'd been covering i'd not covered the
00:42:09.320legislature as a reporter uh before so i was not aware that that existed and it's pretty shocking
00:42:16.680If that's the case, I would agree that something has to be done in an emergency, immediate way to fix that because these people that are coming in now are very, very ideologically progressive left, and they are going to take a scythe.
00:42:37.820If they have that power, they're going to use that like a scythe to just cut through everything that is near and dear to conservative voters in Texas.
00:43:01.460That is why what he's saying is really important because it's a workaround.
00:43:07.820It's emergency power. Todd, hang on for one second. We're going to take a short commercial break. We're going to return to the war room in just a moment.

00:47:12.860By the way, that reads better than mine.
00:47:15.420I don't want to say anything in competition.
00:47:38.200We talk about the performative nature of much of what he was doing.
00:47:40.780But when President Trump came in, they did they did allocate assets and quite a bit of assets up to billions of dollars a year.
00:47:48.620This is what I'm saying. I wouldn't on the money side.
00:47:51.900I wouldn't take anything for granted what these Democrats are going to do.
00:47:54.780I understand. And the reconciliation last time is supposed to be fully funded through January twenty twenty nine.
00:48:00.020But you're talking about you're talking about you're talking about radicals.
00:48:03.800How does that fit with what you just became aware of with Brian Harrison?
00:48:07.780You should understand, Brian Harrison did the exact same thing when Abbott won the third term because he thought it was just, first off, he says Abbott and these guys basically govern like Democrats.
00:48:18.580He just thought it was too much power.
00:48:19.940But given what you heard from Harrison this morning and what you told us yesterday about the assets they're doing, what kind of situation are we in Texas?
00:48:28.380Because we must do everything now immediately to make sure Texas cannot become a sanctuary state.
00:48:34.840If it's a sanctuary state like California, Illinois, New York and New York City in Minnesota, we're going to have problems that may be insurmountable, sir.
00:48:45.860Make no mistake that this is a federal operation.
00:48:50.680The feds have taken over the Texas border, DOW, CBP, and they've got it under control.
00:48:58.200But Texas, the Texas-Mexico border is really sophisticated, complex terrain with a winding river that's twisting and lots of brush and a lot of urban area where people can run and hide and disappear.
00:49:52.740Really, they have boats, air, marine, and land.
00:49:55.960And they are using those. And they're very, somebody told me at CBP in a high ranking position that, you know, we have direct tactical collaboration with the Texas forces and we need them.
00:50:10.620So if Hinojosa comes in there and Goodwin come in there and they already we already know that they hate this whole thing.
00:50:20.860They're going to they have the power to withdraw from the operations.
00:50:27.380So, you know, I already had one high ranking CBP person tell me that they are worried about this in Texas and have ordered up a worst case scenario plan for when it happens or if it happens, how are they going to compensate?
00:50:43.700So they're already worried about losing Texas as a partner down there.
00:50:49.360Now, Texas also has some unique authorities.
00:50:52.320For example, they use Texas all the time for unaccompanied minors who are smugglers.
00:50:58.700There's a lot of the cartels use underage smugglers because they know the feds can't arrest them and prosecute them for age.
00:51:06.900But the Texans can. So they turn them over to Texas and they're busting those underage, you know, child smugglers.
00:51:15.480I've met them. I mean, these are tough kids. Don't feel too sorry for them.
00:51:19.060um but uh anyway that's just one of the many things that they rely on yeah texas also has a
00:51:26.580law they passed laws we can bust people for illegal entry uh that's a unique authority
00:51:34.900that texas have and harrison if he's right they could just scythe that thing down cut that thing
00:51:41.200down uh as well as a bunch of other laws hey todd just hang on one second i just want to keep you
00:51:47.280just for a few minutes on the other side uh there's a couple more questions i think have
00:51:51.720for the answer the audience needs to understand todd bensman from heritage was in the trump
00:51:56.440administration has been a contributor to the show for i don't know five or six years just
00:52:01.180incredible has put his life on the line many times very dangerous locations on the border
00:52:07.680and south of the border um a dire situation the state of texas can't say anything else about it
00:52:14.600Also, what's happening in Washington, D.C., even as we speak.
