We had last week on the show, we had an AFD, an Alternative for Deutschland member of the European Parliament, Peter Bystron, who made the claim that he did not think that the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, was even going to be able to stay in office for the remainder of his term.

00:02:10.500 He actually said that the elections coming up, he said that the CDU, the Christian Democratic Union, is a dead man walking.

00:02:19.480 And the elections this September, certainly in some of the eastern German states, are going to be the funeral.

00:02:29.880 And, you know, some people said, well, that's a strong, bold, confident claim for the AFD to be making.

00:02:37.280 But as we see this week, events really seem to be confirming the AFD's optimism and in his desperation because of his imploding statistics in the polls, Friedrich Mertz, the Chancellor, has had a very hasty reshuffle of his cabinet,

00:03:02.740 forced by the resignation in disgrace of his parliamentary leader who'd been caught

00:03:10.100 basically buying a baby from the United States for him and his husband.

00:03:17.860 And Friedrich Merz thought, obviously, a reshuffle might be the opportunity to bring some vigor back in.

00:03:24.680 Now, as a strong voice in MAGA in Germany, George Weinberg,

00:03:32.620 I'd like to ask you, what is your reading of these events in Germany right now?

00:03:38.220 How are Germans reacting to this reshuffle?

00:03:41.900 And will it be enough to stop the inevitable wave happening of the AFD's ascent to power?

00:03:48.800 well you know i was actually visiting sipek just several months ago in dallas and basically my

00:04:00.560 statement and i'm still more and more uh persuade to in my opinion that um this uh firewall you

00:04:12.000 We have the situation right now that, you know, CDU and CSU,

00:04:18.660 what used to be the old Conservative Party,

00:04:23.340 is now very, very weak,

00:04:25.980 especially to the coalition with the socialists.

00:04:29.980 The socialists are really pushing the Conservative Party

00:04:34.520 in very, very leftist direction.

00:04:38.360 And what does it mean that even right now in Germany, if you take to the consideration, you know, the votes and basically the spirit,

00:04:58.780 We have an absolutely conservative majority politically, and still people are very frustrating

00:05:10.680 with the current government.

00:05:15.360 And this firewall, what is basically have been creating from CDU, meaning we don't want

00:05:27.300 to cooperate with AFD. And, you know, just a year ago, two years ago, even the tendency

00:05:37.000 from what they call democratic center, what this, in my opinion, democratic center as

00:05:47.400 kind of new created world is a BS, and they are trying, they've been trying to prohibit

00:06:00.560 even the AFD by legal sense.

00:06:07.040 They didn't succeed with this since the arguments and the legal position, they had a very, very

00:06:16.000 weak position. So right now is really the situation that in the three eastern states

00:06:27.180 in September, we're going to have local elections. And local elections, in this local elections

00:06:35.800 is the AFD very, very strong. They have over 40 percent right now, is the prognosis, that

00:06:45.720 they're going to win at least in the two states.

00:06:48.900 The one state is Berlin, they are by 20%.

00:06:53.540 And the question will be really what's happened, you know.

00:06:59.900 If the AFD is going to have the majority,

00:07:04.040 they're supposed to create the government by this particular state

00:07:09.700 and the CDU will be gone.

00:07:12.840 especially they have about 20 only let's let's talk about the elections let's talk about the

00:07:21.860 elections in a moment i want to dig down on what you were saying in the first part of your answer

00:07:26.380 because this is very important and i say this for a largely american audience we do have an

00:07:31.160 international audience but it's largely u.s based um and you started off talking about exactly the

00:07:37.680 thing that is the most, when talking about the ascent of the AFD, which is the firewall,

00:07:45.860 the Brandtmauer, I think is the German term for this. And the fact that you have said that

00:07:55.800 the firewall is failing, I think is the first illustration that the German political establishment

00:08:02.980 realises now to itself that it's confronted with a problem,

00:08:09.720 that its combined collective efforts have not been able to deal with.

00:08:15.700 And in fact, some commentators, and I am one of them,

00:08:19.220 actually think one of the reasons why the AFD is so strong now

00:08:24.720 is because the establishments created this firewall

00:08:27.460 and they've basically divided German politics into a binary form.

00:08:32.980 It's the AFD and the non-AFD parties.

00:08:37.540 Now, just a quick word when we're talking about this firewall,

00:08:41.080 because Germany is a proportional representation system,

00:08:44.780 it is the usage of German politics that one party can't really govern by itself

00:08:52.060 and therefore needs to have a coalition.

00:08:54.140 And the point about the firewall is all of the other political parties

00:09:00.580 have basically said, we will form a coalition amongst ourselves, we will never bring the AFD

00:09:07.700 into that coalition in order to govern. And that's not only at the federal level,

00:09:12.680 it's also at the state and local level as well. It was an attempt by the political establishment

00:09:18.320 to isolate the AFD, and by isolating the AFD, indicate their unelectability, their unviability,

00:09:27.080 The fact that the AFD was considered by the political establishment to be so beyond the pale, none of the other political parties would go into coalition with them.

00:09:38.900 So you ask yourself, one asks oneself, well, what was it about the AFD fundamentally that makes them so untouchable politically?

00:09:47.580 It's their opposition to the invasion.

00:09:50.140 And when George Weinberg here comes on the war room and says that the firewall is failing, this is an indication that that strategy of the German political establishment has failed, basically.

00:10:05.740 And one of the ways that you can see that it's failed, of course, is because the AFD is now on like 40 percent in some of the eastern states in Berlin, which is never traditionally its stronghold.

00:10:19.100 I think it's sort of now slightly ahead of the CDU itself.

00:10:24.040 So just bring that together once again, George Weinberg, for me and indicate for our audience just the difficulty that the CDU and again, I suppose, by extension, the socialists, the liberals and all this that they now have because they formed having formed this binary politics.

00:10:43.040 So if it's us versus the AFD, that's now rebounded because Germans in increasing numbers don't want their country to be overrun by third world illegal invasions.

00:10:54.860 So they have one choice if they want to do something about it, and that's vote for the AFD. 0.95

00:10:59.660 And that's why the AFD is moving so far ahead.

00:11:02.780 So just say that again for the audience what this means when you say that the firewall is failing.

00:11:08.640 Well, basically, the firewall is something very artificial, and the AFD basically, in

00:11:23.400 my opinion, is a conservative party, as used to be CDU.

00:11:29.580 points that CDU used to have on the other agenda right now have been tagged by IFD.

00:11:44.260 You know, it's not only the immigration, you know, to stop the immigration, you know, to

00:11:49.520 get the criminals, they came to the country illegally, get them out. 0.68

00:11:55.900 But there are some other issues, issues of energy, of nuclear power, of, you know, cars.

00:12:04.580 They are basically still running on gasolines and this whole walk issues, you know, about

00:12:19.660 gender, you know, that what basically the socialists and the Greens are creating, there

00:12:26.140 are 70-plus gender, and the AFD basically, but CDU actually as well, are in opinion what

00:12:36.860 is absolutely the only one way, there are two sexes, that's it.

00:12:43.500 And so basically the point is, you know, Merz, before he got elected, he promised to do many 0.68

00:12:54.920 things that he actually didn't kept after the election.

00:13:01.380 And so the voters in Germany are very disappointed about his movement to the left and look like

00:13:11.180 He really liked to have the job, but he is not the job.

00:13:18.840 And even in the CDU and CSU, there are some already movements against Merz.

00:13:30.400 And before he got elected, he said that he's going to make the electoral power of AFD to put them to the health of what they have been before.

00:13:48.480 And it's really opposite happens that the FDU was growing and growing and the CDU basically is now a half of percentage that was before he got as a councillor.

00:14:06.480 So that's currently the situation, and, you know, I was actually trying to bring SIPAC to Germany, and I was talking to some conservative people in Germany to organize SIPAC in Germany,

00:14:31.820 And they told me, we have to wait. We have to wait till elections in September. And by the way, AFD is not only 40 plus percent in the eastern part of Germany, but as well in the west part of Germany, the percentage that AFD has is about 20 plus percent.

00:15:00.840 So they're pretty, pretty strong.

00:15:05.380 And we will see what's really happened, especially that the CDU in one of the states in the eastern part, they said they're not going to move.

00:15:15.660 Even if they're going to lose the election, they might try to stay in power, even with the voices of support of the lefts, Greens, and the very, very old left, the party that used to be by the old DDR party.

00:15:45.080 Exactly. Exactly. So we will see really what's happened, you know. I would say, you know, in the US you have these two parties and if somebody, you know, might have tried to cheat or do something that the voters don't want to accept, at least Americans, they are carrying weapons.

00:16:15.080 So there are some discussions, unfortunately, you know, it's a different tradition in Europe and in Germany.

00:16:22.500 If this really came to a very, very controversial political situation, we really don't know what's happened.

00:18:01.240 George, let me ask you this. Two things I want to quickly mention to you, and we only have like

00:18:07.040 five minutes left here. First of all, in your analysis, you mentioned just a few moments ago

00:18:12.680 that you actually think that AFD is a conservative party. I want to ask you what you mean by that,

00:18:19.100 Because if you based your analysis, if one were to base one's analysis only on the mainstream media, one would think that AFD was some far-right, crypto-fascist, crypto-Nazi political party.

00:18:33.940 And yet here you are saying, actually, it's a conservative political party that I presume your argument is that it simply entered the space that's been vacated by the CDU.

00:18:49.540 That is to say, the party of Friedrich Merz isn't the party of Helmut Kohl, who was obviously the landmark chancellor of 30 years ago who united Germany.

00:18:59.460 Things have changed since the days, those days.

00:19:02.040 Tell me more, if you wouldn't mind, about why you think the AFD is broadly a regular conservative political party, apart from on the one issue which defines politics these days, and that is their opposition to the third world illegal invasion.

00:19:27.600 they are basically very

00:19:29.640 simple and

00:19:31.920 they are based

00:20:16.860 50% taxation. So if you're

00:20:18.940 working, you know, all year, five, six months, you are working for nothing without any salary.

00:20:27.120 So the IFT program has basically to reduce the taxation in Germany very significantly,

00:20:40.180 and then basically to move the retirements for the people.

00:20:46.440 You know, the CDO now is talking about people have to work till the age of 70.

00:20:53.540 And we have in Europe, like in Greece or in France, people that are getting retirement already with 62 or 60 years.

00:21:06.240 And so basically, the average German, of course, is very upset.

00:21:13.120 that they want to subsidize other countries.

00:21:18.280 And so there are many, many issues why the AFD is now so popular in Germany, based on

00:21:31.740 this common sense.

00:21:33.500 And you just got with the news what's happened now in Spain, you know.

00:21:39.880 There was the invasion from Morocco, 60,000 people. 0.78

00:21:50.400 And if you see who is coming, they are not families or people.

00:21:55.020 They are well-educated or whatever, whatever.

00:21:59.580 They're not doctors and lawyers who are coming in.

00:22:03.060 You saw the footage today of the last 40 hours, as has basically anyone with a social media account in the world.

00:22:11.460 Just very quickly, what is the reaction being to that in Germany?

00:22:14.840 Here in Italy, for example, Georgia Maloney has said that she will ask for Spain's suspension from the Schengen zone of free movement of people within the European Union.

00:22:29.800 I think that's a somewhat performative response, and I don't think she'll actually achieve that.

00:22:34.780 But at least she has said that to indicate to the Italian people that she takes this very seriously.

00:22:40.820 What has the government in Germany said in response to this alarming footage of what's basically an invasion? 0.78

00:22:47.880 I mean, that's why we call it an invasion. 0.96

00:22:49.360 You see tens of thousands of North Africans storming the border controls in the Spanish sovereign enclave of Thueta up on the North African coast, and the border control effectively unable or unwilling to stop that taking place. 0.90

00:23:13.520 What has been the response from the German government right now, George Weinberg?

00:23:19.360 I didn't, you know, I was listening to the news maybe an hour before we had this conversation.

00:23:25.400 There was no any public statement from anybody from the current government.

00:23:32.040 So I don't know what will be the reaction.

00:23:34.660 The fact is that Germans' border are not really well protected.

00:23:40.380 Then the Greens and the leftists and part of the SPD are welcoming these people.

00:23:49.360 They think there's some treasury for the German public and German government.

00:24:00.040 And the problem is that the German social security is very high

00:24:09.700 comparing to other EU countries like Bulgaria or even Italy and so on. 0.73

00:24:17.820 So we can assume that the invasion or the illegal people that came to the EU, they will definitely land one day in Germany and be entitled for the Social Security, German Social Security, which is, you know, very high.

00:24:43.940 These people have free health insurance, they have cash on hand, they are protected in terms 0.98

00:24:52.180 of housing and many privileges that in other EU are not available for illegal people that 1.00
