00:00:28.780I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
00:00:34.660Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose?
00:00:38.420If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved.
00:00:44.740War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
00:00:48.040Friday, 28th of August, Anno Domini, 2026.
00:00:59.080Harnwell here at the helm on Steve Bannon's War Room.
00:01:02.680Well, folks, it's increasingly sort of turning out that on Wednesdays we do the show,
00:01:09.060which is really an analysis on a lot of the developments in traditional Catholicism,
00:01:17.020especially the traditional Catholicism that rejects either implicitly or explicitly much of what is coming out of the Vatican.
00:01:26.940On Fridays, however, we seem to be gravitating with each passing week ever so slightly towards the Christian nationalism amongst our Protestant friends.
00:01:43.120Specifically, I have to give a name check here to Pastor Doug Wilson and Canon Press.
00:01:50.420And they are pushing out some blinders right now.
00:10:33.300the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk specifically,
00:10:37.980do you think that part of the hatred there was because he made present Jesus Christ
00:10:46.540so visibly and so unambiguously in the world?
00:10:52.000Absolutely. Charlie Kirk was hated for a number of reasons,
00:10:55.340but I think among the chief reasons why he was hated,
00:10:58.820One is because he was very effective, very intelligent, articulate.
00:11:02.700You could not defeat this man in debate.
00:11:05.400Two, he always brought the receipts so he could not only assert something, but he could
00:11:09.620give you, recite from memory, evidence of his case.
00:11:14.240Three, and even most importantly, he was asserting Jesus Christ.
00:11:18.280And so he was not merely a Christian who was a political activist.
00:11:21.640He was an evangelist who would go onto college campuses and elsewhere, and he would proclaim
00:11:26.640the good news of the gospel, that Christ died for our sins, and we can have hope and eternal life
00:11:31.140through faith in Christ. And I would say, fourthly, is that he was politically involved,
00:11:38.000so it wasn't limited to his Christian testimony. Lots of people do that. Ray Comfort and others
00:11:44.100are very effective at proclaiming the gospel. But Charlie Kirk explicitly applied it in areas
00:11:49.700where Christians typically want to be quiet, which is, this is the implications for public
00:11:55.860policy for our christian faith and he was he was an incredible organizer and so he not only said it
00:12:03.980he believed it he applied it and then he organized to get out the vote and you know through his
00:12:10.060influence i mean he certainly was a major factor in helping donald trump get elected for all of
00:12:14.760those reasons he is hated and not least among which is his explicit christian testimony
00:12:19.160so there's like a first chapter of john there about the doctrine the darkness not recognizing
00:12:26.760not grasping um the light stand by one moment past i'll be back with you to to dig into some
00:12:34.200things that you mentioned in the in the book you have quite um an astounding insight um from luke
00:12:44.00015 the the parable of the um the prodigal son i'm going to ask you about that in just
00:12:50.460a few moments first of all over time in the show for the shout out
00:12:56.200of uh our sponsor birch gold um as we've been pointing out and the press by the way today i've
00:13:06.580seen a number of articles on this about the fact that the united states now has passed the four
00:13:13.70040 trillion dollar national debt mark the the consequences of having debt and most people will
00:13:21.840be familiar with this is that it's not simply the debt one has to shoulder but the the interest
00:13:28.060payments on that debt and in america's case it's 1.2 trillion dollars per year which is a figure
00:13:38.100It's simply in servicing the debt, which is so high, it's larger even than what America spends on defense, brackets warfare.
00:13:50.680And that is quite some achievement, given the fact that America is the largest and most substantial military industrial complex the world has ever known to be spending more money on servicing the national debt than on the military.
00:14:08.660how is america going to continue this well one of the elements is inevitably going to have is to try
00:14:16.560simply inflating away the debt and that means if you have cash reserves cash savings those are
00:14:27.680going to be whittled away as well to the same degree as the debt so therefore get your cash
00:14:34.580holdings out of cash into an asset that will be able to resist and the number one asset for that
00:14:42.340is gold that's why philip patrick and his team at birch gold group are standing by waiting to field
00:14:52.180your calls and to offer whatever advice necessary to you on converting over an ira into an ira in
00:15:02.000physical gold and if you haven't done it before if you don't know what's involved if it all sounds
00:15:06.320too complicated but you are interested and if perhaps you have a little bit of fomo reading
00:15:12.640the financial press in the morning the fear of missing out because you can see the price of gold
00:15:18.000starting to escalate from four thousand dollars per ounce earlier on this year up to about forty
00:15:24.660five hundred dollars per ounce and you want in on that action speak to philip patrick and his team
00:15:30.780at birch gold group text bannon b-a-n-n-o-n to nine eight nine eight nine eight and they will
00:15:40.460talk you through the process that's what they're there for um and then you can sigh
00:15:45.080relief because you will have done something to protect your savings from being eaten eaten away
00:15:54.220Once again, text Bannon, B-A-N-N-O-N to 989898 back now to discuss this quite subtle book, quite intelligent book, The Loser Theology.
00:16:10.940So, Pastor Michael, just tell me then, you're talking about the parable of the prodigal son, or as some people call it, the parable of the forgiving father.
00:16:24.220You make this argument in there that in some senses the conventional interpretation of that parable sets us up for defeat.
00:16:32.460I think the Catholic interpretation somewhat is to suggest that all of us at some time can be cast either as the prodigal son or as the elder brother or with the grace of God as God the Father in bestowing forgiveness.
00:16:50.340But the rather more conventional day-to-day interpretation that one hears on this is that the repentant son has a greater access into the gospel, and the orthodox observant son, the elder son, is, say, more of a conservative disposition by inclination.
00:17:18.260And you make this quite amazing argument that in doing that, you're basically framing it to suggest that the prodigal son, you can imagine him with the piercings and the tattoos and what have you.
00:17:29.860And that's, you know, to move forward as you do in your analogy, saying that's the kind of poster boy that churches will use for their converts.
00:17:37.940So I'll say that that guy's sort of the progressive, even left wing son, the conservative son, the elder son, who basically never did a step wrong.
00:18:43.720that I'd never really sort of seen it pitched before.
00:18:46.080In your own words, recast that in an authentic way,
00:18:50.780if you wouldn't mind, as you do in your book.
00:18:56.360Evangelical Christians, there is sort of this fascination and strong desire to reach the lost.
00:19:04.860And so if you think about, you know, what is the holy grail of reaching a lost person?0.99
00:19:09.600It is reaching somebody who is perceivably so far away from God, and they're into sex,
00:19:15.920drugs, rock and roll, the biker gang guy, the hardened lifestyle, doing drugs and prostitutes0.62
00:19:22.060and that sort of thing. And the prodigal son story is a big reason why we desire that. And so in the
00:19:28.480traditional telling of the story, you have the father with two sons. The younger son takes the
00:19:34.320inheritance of the father and he goes off and squanders it with prostitutes and wild living.0.60
00:19:38.280And then he reaches the end of himself. He returns home to the father and he says, I have sinned and
00:19:44.720I'm not worthy to be called your son. Give me a place to stay and some food to eat and I'll be a
00:19:49.780slave. And the father says, no, of course not. You're my son. And he welcomes him back, puts a
00:19:54.640robe on him, a ring on his finger, slaughters the fattened calf to celebrate. And so that's a
00:19:59.600wonderful story of conversion. And it gives Christians hope that God will save anyone who
00:20:05.560comes to faith in Jesus Christ. And so that's the encouraging part of the story. And that is often
00:20:10.380the way the story is told. In the last 30 years or so, there's been another way of telling the
00:20:16.460story, which I don't, I don't say that, I don't think that that's wrong. I think the way it's
00:20:20.940applied is the error. And so the way that it has often been recast is more of focus on the elder
00:20:26.120brother. And so the story is told by Jesus against the Pharisees to say, you begrudge the father for
00:20:33.080his mercy towards these prodigal types. And so the Pharisees are the ones who are the elder brothers0.76
00:20:38.420who are legalistic and rigid and kind of hard-hearted towards the father.
00:20:44.940Now, the way this is told in churches, oftentimes evangelical churches,
00:20:48.600under the influence of Pastor Tim Keller in particular, who popularized this,
00:20:53.600is the idea that it kind of maps these two brothers onto political orientations.
00:21:00.640So the prodigal son types are the left of center, progressive type people,
00:21:05.780and the elder brother, they're more of the conservative, straight-laced type of people.
00:21:11.940And so the heart of God is for, you know, the prodigal son. And so the church should orient
00:21:17.720its ministry and outreach towards the prodigal son types. We really need to reach these leftist,0.72
00:21:22.620progressive, hard to reach type of people. But the people that are getting in the way of that effort
00:21:27.300are these rigid, legalistic elder brother types that are more worried about keeping the rules,
00:21:32.700but their hearts are far from God. And so conservative Christians have been blasted0.79
00:21:37.760in churches and sort of told that they are, you are impeding the mission of God through your
00:21:44.180desire to obey God and keep the rules and follow scripture. And so our very desire to honor God
00:21:50.340with all of our lives is pathologized as an obstacle to the mission of the church. And the
00:21:57.260target of our mission is these leftist sort of progressive type people. And in so doing,
00:22:03.320so the conservatives, they get beat up on, they get made fun of and put down, you guys are in the
00:22:08.320way. And church leaders say, let us focus on these really hard to reach types that we're after.
00:22:14.160And it's a lot of Christians think like, well, I guess I need to stop being concerned about
00:22:18.500mission and evangelism and obeying God and that kind of thing. And just kind of keep my head down
00:22:22.520to be quiet because i've been shamed into into compliance and being silent let me take then um
00:22:31.320in in the final couple of minutes that we have allotted in the show because i think it's in the
00:22:37.840back of the book you you quote the um a leading evangelical and you don't name the guy until the
00:22:46.320book itself until the first chapter itself but you um you quote um someone is saying as an example
00:22:53.060of loser theology a prime example you say the bible you quote this this guy the bible belt is
00:22:59.700teetering towards collapse i say let it fall we find out in the book itself in chapter one0.78
00:23:05.300that that's um russell moore himself of all people who says that um are you able to to tie
00:23:12.640For example, what you're saying here about the misapplication of the parable of the prodigal son into the fight for the Christian basis of the West, which is, I think, what you're trying to do here.
00:23:31.080That's the point of combating loser theology, isn't it?
00:23:35.900Because what you're doing is very self-consciously part of,
00:23:40.780hence the reference to Pastor Wilson earlier
00:23:43.220and at his publishing house of Canon Press.
00:23:45.760This is self-consciously part of the Christian nationalist tradition
00:23:50.400that let's not retreat and give up and say that retreat,
00:23:57.020paint that retreat and giving up with the veneer of piety.
00:24:00.820Let's fight. Let's stay here where we are and fight for this and fight for the Christian nation of our countries, of America, of Italy, where I'm based, of the UK.
00:24:11.940Can you look in the final 90 seconds? So can you do that?
00:24:15.980Can you draw that from the prodigal son and the misapplication to how you get to the loser theology there?
00:24:23.800And then, look, we'll obviously continue this because it's too profound what you said here to limit it to a single show.
00:24:30.000we'll come back and pick this up at a future point yeah so what russell moore is speaking
00:24:36.660about when he says the bible belt is teething toward collapse and i say let it fall he's
00:24:41.340talking about what he perceives to be elder brother christianity and the and the elder
00:24:45.660brother is the one in the in the prodigal son story so russell moore wants that to collapse
00:24:51.140because he sees it as hypocritical and rigid and fundamentalist and so he wants that to go away
00:24:57.920and in its place for this more left-leaning brand of Christianity to be ascendant.
00:25:04.860And so, Pastor Doug Wilson, he has, you know, a project of Christian nationalism and whatever,
00:25:11.940however one would define that, which is very difficult to define, at the very least, what I
00:25:16.640would advocate for is a Christianity that is assertive and public and courageous and wants to
00:25:22.740make the will of God applicable in society. There are those that don't want that to happen.
00:25:28.820Russell Moore types would say, well, that's legalism and we shouldn't do that. Whereas
00:25:33.640Pastor Doug Wilson, myself, we would both say, no, we have a duty before God. We're commanded by God
00:25:39.400to assert the will of God and culture. And that's not being legalistic. That's not trying to convert
00:25:45.400people by law. Rather, it is creating the conditions that orient people towards the good.
00:25:50.960So that way, whenever they hear about Christ, they can know what the good is that they're aspiring to.
00:25:57.820So a couple of weeks ago, we had the editor of Canon 212 as one of the leading traditional Catholic commentators on the show.
00:26:06.440And when I asked him to name the public figure that most to him most authentically represented confident Christianity in the public square, he said Pete Hegseth.
00:26:17.140and i think this is the opportunity that christian nationalism holds forget for now
00:26:23.780the theological differences but this is the opportunity i think for sincere and holy spirit
00:26:30.180filled protestants to work together with sincere and holy spirit filled traditional catholics to
00:26:37.200save the basis of the christian west pastor michael clary very very grateful for you to come on the
00:26:43.580show and i do hope you come back in 10 seconds where do people go to buy your book and to learn
00:26:49.300more on you on social media easiest thing to do is go losertheology.com and then dmichaelclary.com
00:26:58.600is my personal website over 15th or as we say in the war room 15 october as we head towards that
00:27:06.480date that's the extension deadline for the irs here's something most americans do not realize
00:29:50.120You should trust them, too. Text Bannon at 989898. Take action and do it today.
00:29:57.560As President Trump continues to fight for this great country, one of his most important actions could soon impact the wealth of millions of hardworking Americans like you.
00:30:07.400Of course, you won't hear about this in the mainstream media or on the nightly news.
00:30:12.140They'll never admit Trump was right about anything.
00:30:16.160But according to my dear friend and frequent war room guest, Jim Rickards, President Trump has a plan that could unlock an estimated $2.7 trillion in American resources, creating opportunities that many investors may not even realize exist.
00:30:31.860Jim recently put together a new presentation explaining what he believes is happening, why it matters and what Americans should be watching right now.
00:30:40.220To get the full story, go to RickardsWarRoom.com.
00:30:44.460That's RickardsWarRoom.com and watch Jim's free presentation.
00:38:24.160I've been in Santorini, in Herodiki, I've been, and this week I'm in Crete,
00:38:29.320where 150 small boat migrants come in this morning.
00:38:35.960And, you know, it's shocking to see what goes on.0.81
00:38:39.600But what they do here, Ben, in Greece and in Crete,
00:38:43.160is they move these people from the south of the island up to the north
00:38:49.140and then they move them into northern Greece.
00:38:51.060So then the borders are free and open to Rome into Europe.0.82
00:38:54.160So that's how they deal with the invasion that the Greeks get.
00:38:58.720And we're just covering things like that and getting flags up.
00:39:01.420And, you know, we'll deal with the ÂŁ120,000 when that bill comes,
00:39:05.320just like we'll deal with Birmingham City Council
00:39:07.220when they try and do what they're doing.
00:39:10.500But we still want to put the flags up.
00:39:13.780Ryan, on those two points, firstly, the ÂŁ120,000 in legal expenses,
00:39:20.920that's simply what oxfordshire county council are seeking um that's not that's not been approved by
00:39:27.000court yet no that's correct that's correct that's correct locally for us at the moment yes
00:39:32.000and um and i think when you were this was this was the high courts the high courts of justice right
00:39:39.340in um that case that you did uh for the royal courts of justice in in london and um my impression
00:39:46.140of that was that the court actually tried to be incredibly fair towards you and give you guys as
00:39:51.220much leeway as possible. So we'll stay, we'll keep observing that one. Regarding what you just said,
00:39:59.960I repeat, you are live in Crete, Greece right now. You just said that according to your, and I want
00:40:07.480to get this right, because I will quote you on this. You said that according to your research,
00:40:11.940there live in the field uh there are you have ascertained that there are around 200 separate
00:40:18.480individual avenues for invaders to enter europe is that correct is that is that the result the
00:40:26.360correct um synthesis of your research there yeah that's quite right there's there's um over 200
00:40:34.380routes that they that these uh people from libya can come into um the greek islands on and then
00:40:40.320they will seek refuge on a greek island um and they're they're out of the continent of africa
00:40:45.820and that's how that the journey starts from the people that are coming from libya this way in
00:40:50.940tunisia um so that's that's their journey they will they will pay the smugglers to get on the
00:40:55.880small boats and the greek guys that we've been speaking to have told me it's massive massive
00:41:01.060business for the smugglers from greece over to um over to mainland europe and and greece so so1.00
00:41:08.640that's how they do it um you know they don't want them these these people on the streets of
00:41:13.880crete and all the other islands that i've been on um and what they do is they they move them
00:41:19.280into the mainland and then i suppose they just disappear into europe and and they're you know
00:41:24.240end up on shores near us right standby um i'll be back to you in just 30 seconds quick shout out to
00:41:32.260the sponsor of tonight's show birch gold i did give the introduction to the background of the
00:41:39.060u.s national debt earlier and now 40 trillion dollars 1.2 trillion dollars per year in service
00:41:47.060simply alone servicing interest repayments um so folks probably now is the time to shift your
00:41:56.900savings from cash from dollar cash savings into the yellow metal as it is already increased from
00:42:07.300forty hundred dollars four thousand dollars per spot ounce spot price per ounce to uh to around
00:42:15.300forty five hundred dollars today uh speak to philip patrick and his team text bannon b a double n o n

00:42:46.560All right, back with Ryan the Lion. So Ryan, when you were just talking now, you mentioned that even with all the injunctions taking place. And by the way, Denver, if you wouldn't mind, would you put the screen up?
00:43:01.020um that does have you say you haven't yet heard anything that's the one perfect thank you you say
00:43:07.020you haven't yet heard anything um from your lawyers there is officially the the details
00:43:13.960um circulating that they haven't submitted them to yet of this court case so the public can find out
00:43:21.620about this before yeah the defendants themselves that that is that is britain's
00:43:27.900two-tier inverted commas justice system for you right what i wanted to ask you more specifically
00:43:33.420is you mentioned earlier on that whilst this is taking place you and your team are going to
00:43:40.380continue flagging um and that's great okay because you when you use the verb the flagging um
