00:01:12.400 manhattan district attorney's office has filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking to block the
00:01:16.800 subpoena from jim jordan's committee the house judiciary committee that they made last week to
00:01:21.860 one of the top prosecutors who worked on this investigation now jim jordan has also reached out
00:01:27.180 to the district attorney's office bragg saying they wanted him to come in and testify but this is a
00:01:31.440 significant step forward to combat this effort bragg's lawsuit is alleging that this is an
00:01:37.700 unconstitutional effort by congress to try to interfere in a state prosecution they also say
00:01:43.460 that congress has no power to supervise or to get involved in state investigations so they're asking
00:01:49.760 the judge here to block the subpoena for the former prosecutor mark pomerantz's testimony he had a
00:01:55.400 deadline of april 20th that's next week to report to congress to give his testimony they're also asking
00:02:00.580 the judge to stop any future subpoenas to bragg or to any current or former prosecutors from that
00:02:06.700 office who have worked on this investigation i mean interestingly in this lawsuit bragg's office is
00:02:11.360 also alleging that jim jordan and other republican congressmen have been involved in a campaign of
00:02:17.380 intimidation retaliation and obstruction and they cite the former president trump's own threatening
00:02:22.560 statements to bragg and you recall that bragg's office did receive a letter with suspicious white
00:02:27.560 powder and it was deemed to be non-hazardous but bragg's office saying that these threats these
00:02:31.900 statements of intimidation by trump were not denounced by these republican congressmen and instead they said
00:02:38.900 that the house republicans were participating in these threatening efforts biana

00:03:51.940 leading uh opposing presidential candidate and bragg is using federal funds to do this he admitted
00:03:58.980 to jim jordan's house judiciary committee that he's using federal funds and bragg is using a laughable
00:04:05.240 legal theory under federal election law to pursue this bogus case against trump this is a case that
00:04:13.120 was previously rejected by the prior man manhattan da at alvin bragg's urging when alvin bragg worked for
00:04:21.000 the new york attorney general's office it was rejected by the manhattan u.s attorney uh it was rejected by
00:04:27.340 the federal election commission it was rejected by bragg himself when he was first elected as the
00:04:33.400 manhattan da and then he took heat from rogue prosecutors including this mark pomerantz who
00:04:39.700 unethically went public with their political grievances and so bragg colluded with the biden
00:04:46.940 justice department including recruiting senior biden political appointee matthew colangelo to come
00:04:54.400 resuscitate this zombie case against president trump and bragg is denying president trump due process and
00:05:01.940 equal protection of the law and the bragg is also endangering new yorkers by diverting these federal
00:05:09.820 funds from real crimes like carjackings robberies assaults rapes and murderers to interfere in a
00:05:17.400 presidential election so congress has a duty under section 5 of the 14th amendment and its oversight

00:07:24.760 the power to step in is that what bragg is is arguing can can republican uh da's can republican ag's

00:13:10.660 or the supreme court of the united states because this is a major you're saying this is going to come
00:13:16.740 down to a major separation of powers issue and on this one it's clear congress has the ability to
00:13:22.100 have oversight because of funds and other other uh other means that uh support the apparatus of uh

00:14:08.020 manhattan da alvin bragg uh pursuing a felony charge against president trump for the non-felony

00:14:29.640 the legal allegation is against trump in the indictment that's a clear due process clause violation
