00:00:00.000 the the the thin boy alt-right cat girl there's a meme around this and this is where i think
00:00:07.660 that our movement this new movement was in the conservative party has in many ways become
00:00:13.580 affiliated with cat girls yeah you've got like cat girl kulag who we know that we've talked to
00:00:19.700 personally and elon talking about investing in cat girls in that one famous tweet these are people
00:00:25.080 who i consider very politically aligned with us and both of them have like weirdly talked about
00:00:30.320 cat girls so what's going on there why are they talking about cat girls would you like to know
00:00:35.760 more hello malcolm hello simone i am so excited for this topic today when we engage with uh some
00:00:45.360 other other branches of conservatives one of the things that i think we all agree on is that
00:00:52.100 sexuality isn't really handling itself well in society today that there are a ton of men and
00:01:00.220 women that are turning to self-gratification over real relationships and that this is likely to 1.00
00:01:08.040 expand in the future with ai and stuff like that one of the responses to this that many people consider
00:01:16.320 is we should ban pornography and some countries that are more conservative than us in trying to
00:01:23.360 solve fertility rates have done just that like south korea however it does not have the effects you would
00:01:29.140 think it would have and it's generally a really bad idea but let's talk about why so when we first
00:01:35.800 started writing the pragnitas guide to sexuality we were sure that we would find a lot of information
00:01:40.800 that suggested that porn and masturbation were pretty damaging because we saw on reddit at that
00:01:48.320 time like nofap the subreddit was really big people were like all about this is damaging me this is
00:01:53.220 really harmful for me so we're like wow this is people must have looked into this and this is our
00:01:57.760 ideology like self-control oh yeah yeah yeah yeah control is bad like that you need to take a prudish
00:02:04.400 approach yeah yeah yeah don't indulge like that that must be bad lo and behold we were wrong and 0.66
00:02:11.340 we totally own up to that now basically it looks like masturbation in general for both men and women 0.83
00:02:17.000 is good it seems to be correlated with like more sexual empowerment and enjoyment on women's part 0.99
00:02:22.400 it seems to reduce stress improve self-esteem improve body image there's a lot there's a lot to be said 0.66
00:02:28.180 just for masturbation with or without porn we also say in the pragmatist guide to sexuality the 0.89
00:02:32.880 masturbation may contribute to a decline in many social ills ucla researchers found that sex 0.92
00:02:38.260 criminals on average consume less porn than the average person and started consuming it at a later
00:02:44.100 age than the average non-sex criminal take that for what it's worth but it's crazier than that in
00:02:50.180 countries that haven't allowed porn and then started allowing porn rates of ape you guys can figure out 0.66
00:02:57.420 what i mean i'm trying not to get demonetized here uh rates of ape declined precipitously upon the
00:03:04.100 legalization of pornography yeah so i can quote from our book on sexuality across nations more
00:03:09.840 pessimistic added oh sorry and i'm going to use the word grape okay okay grape yeah grape across nations
00:03:16.900 more permissive attitudes toward pornography are correlated with lower rates of grape and less violence
00:03:23.360 against women a great case study of this can be seen with the czech republic where porn was illegal
00:03:28.020 under communism then legalized when the party fell this decriminalization of pornography caused in one
00:03:34.400 year grapes to decline over 37 percent in child abuse of the wrong no it's all wrong the child what abuse
00:03:44.220 fell by about 50 similar results were seen where porn laws were loosened in denmark japan china and
00:03:51.080 hong kong so talk about rates of internet expansion because that's also really interesting
00:03:57.220 yes for every 10 percent increase in internet access in the u.s there is a corresponding regional decrease
00:04:03.340 of 7.3 percent in grapes suggesting that the internet and its facilitation of masturbation
00:04:09.640 may provide an outlet for sexual energy that might otherwise cause serious damage
00:04:15.060 consider how correlational that is 10 percent to a seven percent drop a 10 percent rise in internet
00:04:20.080 access to a seven percent drop that 50 percent drop so this is one of those things right where
00:04:26.420 it's something that ideologically i can be like self-control is good this is bad etc yeah but then i engage
00:04:34.680 with the data and do i want to be one of those people like the woke where i throw out the data when it
00:04:43.060 doesn't agree with my ideological predilections or do i adapt to the data and i never want to be that
00:04:48.900 type of person especially when it leads to children to suffer like that it was hungry right a 50 percent
00:04:56.980 drop and it's one of the most horrible things a child could experience yeah okay a 50 percent drop in 0.98
00:05:03.340 that happening yeah we would prefer to live in a society in which porn is legal and masturbation is 1.00
00:05:09.960 widespread because our children on the streets are going to be safer like that just it now hold on so
00:05:16.540 it actually gets more interesting than this so we also found in the book that the negative correlates
00:05:22.680 to porn consumption are almost entirely tied to how much you believe there are going to be negative
00:05:31.280 correlates yeah back to our theme of how you contextualize things influences whether or not
00:05:37.380 so we'll try to do this after the episode we recorded where we talk really deeply about how
00:05:42.060 much contextualization matters to whether or not you experience something like trauma or something
00:05:48.300 else right which is if you see something as negative you will experience it as negative now in porn this is
00:05:54.360 really interesting because it means that porn has a much more negative effect on religious people's
00:05:58.300 psychology than it does on non-religious people's psychology or people who don't contextualize it negative
00:06:03.320 psychology that is fascinating to me but it also means that when people talk about how porn is hurting
00:06:09.700 them if they are somebody who believes porn will hurt them they are not lying it really does have a
00:06:16.460 panoply of negative effects on them it just doesn't on the people who don't think it's negative so in many
00:06:22.140 ways they're creating their own little nightmare yeah of adverse effects also a big theme that comes up
00:06:30.040 with porn that many like feminists argue is that this is hurting men's perception of women it's causing 1.00
00:06:37.080 men to objectify women it's causing men to see women especially is like less than human it's just
00:06:43.060 objects of for pleasuring oneself but as we say in the pragmatist guide to sexuality despite what we had
00:06:49.960 assumed masturbation and porn consumption do not lead people to think less of women people who watch
00:06:55.760 pornography hold views of women as more equal to men than those who do not watch pornography
00:07:00.780 consumers of porn are no less likely to describe themselves as feminists and actually express 1.00
00:07:06.280 more egalitarian ideas about both women in positions of power and working outside the home according to the
00:07:12.680 results of a study published in the journal of sex research so that also seems intuitively true
00:07:18.580 typically the hardline religious people are probably going to consume less porn yeah but yeah so along almost
00:07:24.520 every line it's worse to ban porn right but then you can say okay what about relationship structures
00:07:29.920 okay porn must negatively affect people in relationships do we have any data on that i'm
00:07:35.660 pretty sure we do one study conducted on college students found that those who masturbate more actually 0.76
00:07:40.700 have more sex than those who masturbate less another study found that people who masturbate more 0.96
00:07:45.960 often have happier marriages and more satisfying sex within those marriages masturbating while fantasizing 0.63
00:07:51.500 about one's partner has also been shown to improve the quality of relationships and reduce relationship
00:07:56.120 damaging behavior patterns wow yeah so we actually had trouble finding studies that suggested that
00:08:02.800 porn has negative effects on people who don't believe that porn has a negative effect okay so we found a
00:08:09.460 couple studies that showed it might have negative effects we couldn't find any study that showed
00:08:13.680 masturbation alone had a negative effect yeah it's more with any sort of pleasurable activity it can be
00:08:19.860 habit forming so while it's not recognized institutionally as addictive inherently you can i think fall into
00:08:27.520 patterns that are quite damaging just like you could develop a food addiction it is totally possible and many
00:08:33.040 people do have addictions to porn yeah well actually this is a but i also think let's ignore all of the
00:08:39.600 research let's pretend that wasn't there yeah i've been talking with some like catholic integralists and
00:08:43.700 they're like okay we need to enforce basically our ideology on other people and through that society can be
00:08:49.640 made better right if we remove access to porn it will fix relationship dynamics and stuff like that
00:08:55.260 and here i am being like what a sign of cultural weakness that you cannot exist as a cultural group
00:09:03.160 without at the government level banning access to certain things the way i see it is anybody who can't
00:09:10.180 motivate themselves to reproduce in an environment where porn exists probably doesn't need to be a part of 0.84
00:09:16.160 the gene pool because things like porn are going to exist within future cultural environments and they are
00:09:24.820 going to eventually seek in unless you completely wall yourself off from society and if you want to do that as a
00:09:30.400 cultural group go ahead and try i'm fairly certain you will lose because the groups that have tried that 0.95
00:09:37.920 are losing unless they keep themselves completely disconnected from the world so by that what i mean is
00:09:44.400 amish groups that have adopted cell phone use they've actually seen a precipitous fall in their
00:09:50.200 fertility rates yeah you can you'll be okay so long as you're not engaging with technology but then how
00:09:54.980 do you compete economically on a large scale how do you matter in terms of the future of our species
00:09:59.880 the future of our species will be defined by people who have overcome these challenges
00:10:04.260 not people who engaged with them by isolating themselves from them
00:10:09.000 and finally i actually imagine that a lot of the psychological benefits that people are reporting
00:10:14.620 from porn restriction is actually the psychological benefits that come from just any sort of arbitrary
00:10:20.460 desire restriction whether it's meat restriction or fish restriction or i'm not going to eat between
00:10:26.400 this in this period of the day like you would have with ramadan intermittent fasting yeah arbitrary
00:10:31.200 self-denial rituals as we always mention strengthen the inhibitory pathways in your prefrontal cortex and make
00:10:36.280 it easier to shut down our truths of thoughts which can make it easier to force yourself to work and
00:10:39.880 you'll just generally be mentally healthier great but you see this anywhere you have this you don't
00:10:46.680 need it to be porn and this is where i think that our movement this new movement was in the conservative
00:10:53.720 party that is much more open to ideas like this has in many ways become affiliated with catgirls yeah
00:11:01.960 you've got like catgirl kulag who we know we've talked to personally and elon talking about investing
00:11:08.240 in catgirls in that one famous tweet these are people who i consider very politically aligned with
00:11:13.480 us and both of them have like weirdly talked about catgirls so what's going on there why are they
00:11:19.020 talking about catgirls here is what i think is going on there and why i do think that you call it
00:11:24.340 catgirl conservatism please let this be a new political party new ownership of male sexuality 0.94
00:11:31.300 the attractive catgirl is something that is both sexually deviant and that it's not approved by 0.99
00:11:40.720 either traditional conservative society or the new progressive society because it's seen as i don't
00:11:45.320 know dehumanizing of women or fetishizing or something like that so it's frowned on by both groups
00:11:52.540 but it is also i think near universal i think there's very few guys who aren't like oh cute catgirls
00:11:59.980 right you mean who are fine cute catgirls aversive yeah i don't think that's a new or not grossed out
00:12:06.280 i think that there's a lot of weird fetishes out there and stuff like that where but sort of 50 50
00:12:11.400 yeah hot catgirls i get the off perception it's 90 to 95 percent of guys they're proud pleasers
00:12:18.380 they're not they're not like like really furry style i'm talking about anime style
00:12:23.620 you know like a tail or something right yes it's one of those things that is both subversive
00:12:30.360 and nearly universal and i think it also and i think this is really important
00:12:36.280 is a reclamation of male sexuality which is really open ground for the conservative movement right now
00:12:46.360 because traditionally the conservatives were sexually conservative and the progressives were
00:12:50.400 more sexually open but as time has gone on the progressive movement has become more and more
00:12:56.020 sex negative especially in relation to male sexuality like male desire is something to be shamed
00:13:04.560 and so you can take ownership of that right and create a movement which i think is appeals to ground
00:13:13.820 that the progressive has voluntarily ceded and that there is no reason why the conservative party
00:13:19.460 either ideologically like why are we creating a nanny state to protect people for themselves
00:13:24.320 ideologically that makes no sense and the data i think also shows that you're not really getting
00:13:29.620 a big advantage from this yeah oh that's interesting a new way of being proud of male sexuality
00:13:39.180 which progressive groups would argue how dare you ever try to be proud of that that
00:13:44.880 objectifies and ruins everyone whereas actually it has been shamed for for quite a long time
00:13:50.800 actually there was this meme that i want to say oh yeah yeah so it's it's the the the thin boy alt-right
00:13:59.920 cat girl there's a meme around this which is an increasing alt-right movement in the thin boy
00:14:08.040 movement okay but i think it's really organic when you think about it because this is a movement that
00:14:15.780 is becoming increasingly common because i think of the biological changes to males that are happening
00:14:20.520 because of environmental pollutants the study we always cite is the the tide studies that looked at
00:14:25.560 first trimester blood levels of endocrine disruptors and mothers and then things like anogenital
00:14:31.740 distance and gender play and children these are still people who have i think a lot of masculine
00:14:37.440 mindset in terms of how they approach politics and stuff like that but the way that they self-identify
00:14:43.020 and relate to their own sexuality is very much more femboy and i also think the femboy identity is to
00:14:50.100 some extent subversive these days because in a world where you are expected to transition if you don't
00:14:56.660 immediately adopt a traditional masculine sexuality proudly adopting a femboy lifestyle i can see how that would 0.69
00:15:06.120 relate to the alt-right movement to an extent interesting yeah how does what what is adjacent
00:15:14.860 to this or what i see discussed a lot in in similar circles just as okay maybe femboy cat girls are being 1.00
00:15:21.180 celebrated female promiscuity and sexuality is being demonized and i don't really understand why where i stand
00:15:28.860 now is that there are different female sexual strategies and they make sense in different contexts so 1.00
00:15:36.440 sure being really prudish or limiting number of sexual partners or maybe not even having sex until marriage
00:15:42.880 can make sense in some contexts in other contexts being promiscuous having as many sexual partners as you
00:15:50.180 would care to have is advantageous especially when you know the trade-offs coming into it why yeah walk me through
00:15:56.260 this it actually damages the non-promiscuous group for the promiscuous group to exist
00:16:01.640 so suppose i'm a part of a catholic commune or something like that right i try to go back to the way things
00:16:08.980 used to be i have built monogamous relationships we ban divorce in our communities so if you existed in like
00:16:17.180 old france or something like that right this was the way things used to be you couldn't just leave
00:16:21.560 your partner the switching costs would be incredibly high we can go to the switching costs episode on
00:16:26.720 relationships where we talk about relationship structure and stuff like that so if you were my
00:16:30.080 husband i wouldn't have to worry because who else could you possibly go to everyone else is married 0.59
00:16:34.060 right if you left me you would have this huge social stigma against you within basically anyone else you
00:16:40.980 could marry which would hurt your chances to marry someone else which artificially strengthens our
00:16:46.040 relationship and makes divorce less likely but even if you isolate your community these days a man
00:16:52.160 could still just leave and go to a completely different like community in a completely different
00:16:57.300 area every single promiscuous girl in in general society lowers the quality of every other 1.00
00:17:05.200 relationship just from them existing and by that what i mean it's a lower the quality of every other
00:17:09.680 relationship where relationship quality is defined by how much an individual values their partner
00:17:15.160 divided by how the average quality of a partner they think they could get on an open marketplace right
00:17:20.580 and as we said when somebody believes the average quality of a partner they can get on an open
00:17:24.140 marketplace is higher than the quality of their existing relationship they're going to like their
00:17:28.980 relationship so there is a reason there is a reason why somebody would be like i don't like this
00:17:35.140 right however i think it's a completely losing battle to fight right and i think it alienates potential
00:17:43.480 cultural allies that do not need to be alienated like with ayla right i always am trying to convince
00:17:49.620 her to join our side i'm like you gotta join the conservatives we've got your back or at least our
00:17:54.620 group within the party has your back and then she has these horrible experiences with these frankly
00:18:00.160 insecure quote-unquote trad guys who think they're being cool by shaming somebody for i don't know
00:18:07.860 being a deviant sexually and it's whatever whatever she's living the life that i think 0.99
00:18:14.060 most red pillars would live if they were born in a woman's body yeah but but you were just arguing 1.00
00:18:18.620 that someone who is willing to what i'm arguing is that it does hurt those communities but no amount
00:18:23.780 of shaming is going to remove people like that from the general marketplace at this point they just
00:18:28.180 exist now there is nothing you can do to get rid of them anymore and thus by going out there and
00:18:34.880 making yourself a problem for these people all you do is chase away potential allies at this point
00:18:40.340 i'm not saying they don't hurt your relationships i'm not saying it doesn't have exogenous effects on
00:18:45.820 your community it does but no amount of shaming that you're doing is making anything better all it's
00:18:53.800 doing is chasing away potential allies that it and you could be like no because if we consolidated
00:18:59.800 power within conservative movement we could ban porn so what you ban porn who are you helping you're
00:19:06.640 helping the people who aren't in your cultural group unless you're saying that like and i was in
00:19:11.960 korea you can get porn with vpns and stuff i don't know what you people think like how good these porn
00:19:17.760 bands actually are but isn't prostitution legal in korea how does that work i don't remember but i do
00:19:23.740 remember there was a lot of it so yeah i guess what i'm saying is that porn bands just don't work
00:19:31.220 that well they they work less well what freaks me out though and as we alluded to earlier in this
00:19:36.380 podcast like the more you ban access to porn the more people are going to sort of right and then
00:19:42.940 that need elsewhere yeah 50 percent reduction in that happening to kids yeah that to me was just
00:19:50.180 like what even are you so for some sort of like aesthetic cultural victory you're willing to let 1.00
00:19:57.440 actual children suffer yeah not cool not cool buddy i don't like it when progressives pull that shit and 1.00
00:20:07.500 i don't like it when you guys pull that shit either yeah what matters is is it's the kids and 0.99
00:20:13.700 not all kids i can protect my kids i can keep my kids out of the school system not everyone can do 0.99
00:20:19.380 that yeah no i i hope that a couple of minds have been changed about the value but yeah yeah porn it's
00:20:29.960 useful don't ban it thank you very much no i guess it's useful and it may be useful to you to restrict
00:20:36.860 yourself from it but it's actually the act of the restriction which is providing you with the
00:20:42.180 benefits if you honestly like i i from the research i think if you want to restrict something and develop
00:20:49.360 your self-denial pathways your inhibitory pathways try intermittent fasting it appears to have some
00:20:56.480 pretty good benefits health-wise whereas as long as you don't have a problem uh have like a habit 0.64
00:21:05.160 form-based addiction to porn it seems to be that moderate and reasonable masturbation and porn use
00:21:11.320 has beneficial effects and increases testosterone levels i think but yeah hold on i think even
00:21:17.380 yeah one study suggests abstaining from masturbation for seven days may increase testosterone levels which
00:21:22.980 could be useful okay so i guess if you're trying to build muscle then okay yeah sure like that too
00:21:27.940 but but if you do have an addiction to porn which some people argue that it can't happen whatever
00:21:35.060 i'll say it can happen all right yeah if it does happen then use naltrexam yes just go to all day
00:21:41.320 chemist or whatever this is a site where you can order these pills from india it's an opioid agonist 0.94
00:21:45.320 take a pill and hour later masturbate to porn do this every day for a week you will never want to 0.53
00:21:52.720 masturbate to porn again i think it takes longer than a week it's in clear methods like six months 0.90
00:21:56.360 maybe a month okay but if you do this for a month you will eventually lose that addiction i mean if
00:22:02.920 others study there anything to go on 80 probably yeah so there you have it ladies and gentlemen
00:22:07.840 porn good if you are addicted porn bad but you can fix it and please don't ban porn for the children
00:22:14.600 thank you very much welcome i love you i love talking about all these crazy things with you and i'm
00:22:21.200 looking forward to our next conversation i love you too i love you too
00:22:25.700 you
