00:00:00.880 Hello, Canada. I'm Romana Didelo. I am the founder and leader of Canada First.
00:00:06.720 Today, I'm going to answer one of the questions from one of our citizens who asked,
00:00:12.880 Romana, can you please speak on your intentions with regards to the United Nations,
00:00:20.080 International Criminal Court, World Health Organizations,
00:00:23.760 and NATO, and also on our foreign aid programs? First, thank you for the question.
00:00:35.520 My answer is that as Prime Minister of Canada from day one, I will be sending an official letter to
00:00:43.280 these organizations informing them of Canada's intention to withdraw our membership effective
00:00:51.760 immediately. My reason for doing so is purely economic.
00:01:00.400 Many of you may not know that these organizations, for example NATO, takes two percent of our total
00:01:09.280 GDP on a yearly basis as a fee that we contribute year in year out to NATO.
00:01:22.000 The same with the United Nations. United Nations uses a complicated formula and using our GDP,
00:01:32.080 they take a percentage or a certain percentage of our GDP as our contribution to United Nations.
00:01:42.240 So you can imagine the amount of money that's coming out of Canada
00:01:45.680 Canada, year in year out, going to these organizations.
00:01:53.600 Next, in terms of our foreign aid programs, I will also send letters to the organizations that the
00:02:06.720 government of Canada has been funding, informing them that we are withdrawing our support
00:02:18.240 because Canada simply cannot afford to send billions and billions of dollars to any organizations or foreign
00:02:26.960 countries to help their domestic activities, to help their citizens. While our own citizens here in Canada, we have
00:02:40.800 millions and millions of unemployed Canadians and millions more underemployed Canadians.
00:02:47.040 On top of that, we have thousands of Canadians who are homeless. Not to mention we have thousands upon
00:02:56.640 thousands across the country who are suffering from fentanyl addiction and other hard drugs addictions.
00:03:06.560 All of these need money.
00:03:13.920 And so we simply cannot afford to send
00:03:19.600 billions of dollars overseas.
00:03:21.440 And for new Canadians and also not so new Canadians, you may or may not be aware
00:03:30.800 that for the last three decades, our indigenous peoples have been tremendously neglected by
00:03:38.640 the previous and current government. Our indigenous peoples have been living and continue to live
00:03:45.680 in third world condition. Many without drinking water, clean drinking water for the last three decades.
00:03:59.520 So you see, this hypocrisy, I will put an end
00:04:06.320 as soon as I am sworn in as prime minister of this country.
00:04:10.080 We have to take care of our own people before we can take care of others.
00:04:18.720 Thank you for the question.
