Classically Abby - 24 Hours. 4 Flights. 2 Cupcakes. 1 Wedding. MY BIRTHDAY! ｜｜ The Scoop #13

00:00:00.120 Hello, Classic Crew, and welcome to today's episode of The Scoop.

00:00:07.120 If you are new to my channel, The Scoop is our chance to just catch up, act like we're

00:00:12.060 grabbing a cup of coffee together, and talk about what went on over the course of the

00:00:15.440 week.

00:00:16.080 And today, I have a few different things I want to chat about.

00:00:19.280 It's going to be pretty casual, and I'm excited to just catch up with you guys, because I

00:00:23.180 don't know why, but it feels like a long time since I have.

00:00:25.940 I know it hasn't, but it sort of feels like I have.

00:00:28.520 And even though I do this every week, I always look forward to doing it, because I just

00:00:32.600 love chatting with you guys.

00:00:34.300 So just make sure you leave what you've been up to in the comments.

00:00:37.220 I love reading those, and I love responding to them, and let's get into it.

00:00:41.420 So the first thing I want to talk to you guys about and recap is the craziness of my birthday

00:00:48.420 this year.

00:00:49.840 So this Sunday, this past Sunday, was my birthday.

00:00:53.340 I just turned 27.

00:00:55.580 That's really weird to say.

00:00:56.980 27 feels like a big step to me.

00:00:59.380 I don't really think of myself as 27.

00:01:01.560 I think of myself as 24.

00:01:03.000 Maybe 24 perennially.

00:01:04.780 I feel like everyone has an age that they just think of themselves as that age.

00:01:09.680 What's yours?

00:01:10.540 Leave it in the comments.

00:01:11.380 I'm really curious.

00:01:12.200 But I think mine is 24.

00:01:13.860 Maybe that's because I got married at 24?

00:01:16.180 Not totally sure.

00:01:17.240 But 27 feels really interesting, really funny.

00:01:20.740 And so now that I am 27, I am really happy with where I'm at.

00:01:26.960 Thank God I'm married.

00:01:28.360 I'm in a beautiful home with my husband.

00:01:30.660 We live in a state that we really love, and we're doing what we care about.

00:01:35.920 And that's really cool.

00:01:36.960 So 27 should be a good year.

00:01:39.480 Although 2020 has made that weird.

00:01:42.420 And I haven't really had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday all that much,

00:01:46.680 even though I have been given beautiful gifts from my family.

00:01:49.480 But I wanted to talk to you guys about the day of my birthday.

00:01:53.100 So the day of my birthday was actually one of my best friend's weddings.

00:01:57.160 And I was really excited to celebrate with her.

00:01:59.460 I thought that was a lovely idea that it would be on my birthday,

00:02:02.820 because now I never have to remember her anniversary.

00:02:05.160 It's just my birthday.

00:02:06.400 So that makes my life easier.

00:02:09.200 And so it was actually across the country.

00:02:13.340 Her wedding was in Los Angeles.

00:02:15.660 And I needed to fly there and back on the same day.

00:02:19.780 I know it sounds crazy, but it was the least expensive flights I could find.

00:02:24.780 Plus, I needed to be back for work the next day.

00:02:27.540 So I woke up at about 5.45 on Sunday morning, took a flight at 8 a.m.,

00:02:33.040 had a layover, and got to Los Angeles at about 12.30.

00:02:37.200 Now, of course, that's really 3.30 East Coast time.

00:02:40.640 So I went straight from the airport to the wedding venue.

00:02:45.800 I got ready.

00:02:46.760 I was a bridesmaid in the wedding, so I needed to put on a dress and do my hair and my makeup,

00:02:52.560 be ready for photos.

00:02:53.800 So we did that, did the wedding.

00:02:56.060 It was an absolutely beautiful affair.

00:02:59.660 I'm so excited for my friend.

00:03:01.540 And she has been the biggest trooper.

00:03:04.260 Honestly, the biggest trooper.

00:03:06.360 Because if you're a COVID bride or you know a COVID bride, 0.96

00:03:09.160 you know how hard this whole scenario has been.

00:03:11.520 She had to switch her venue three times in the last two weeks before the wedding. 0.94

00:03:17.200 I know.

00:03:18.240 It was insane.

00:03:19.360 And she did an incredible job. 0.99

00:03:21.300 It honestly didn't feel like the venue that we ended up at wasn't the original venue.

00:03:25.520 It was a gorgeous, gorgeous wedding.

00:03:28.060 She looked stunning.

00:03:29.520 I just love weddings, you guys.

00:03:31.160 If I haven't made that clear already on my channel, I just love weddings.

00:03:37.160 So I was so excited to be there to celebrate with her on this beautiful, beautiful day.

00:03:41.340 She let all of her bridesmaids choose their dresses, and she just gave us a color. 1.00

00:03:45.360 So she said champagne.

00:03:47.160 And my dress, I actually already owned.

00:03:49.620 So I had this dress that I had gotten from the Manhattan School of Music.

00:03:53.240 They have a donation program where people can donate gowns and recital dresses to young singers and performers.

00:03:59.720 Because those things can be expensive, they donate them, and we can just get them for free, which is a wonderful initiative.

00:04:06.020 And so I had gotten this dress, but it wasn't modest enough for me.

00:04:08.720 It was a halter dress.

00:04:10.100 And so I needed to find a solution.

00:04:11.940 And I went on Amazon, and I ordered kind of this little capelet, and I put it underneath, and it looked beautiful.

00:04:18.540 So that whole dress ended up costing me $11, which I was very happy with.

00:04:23.480 And I thought it was a really interesting kind of look, and I had a great time.

00:04:27.100 So we did the wedding.

00:04:29.580 It was lovely.

00:04:30.880 My parents are super cute.

00:04:32.600 They actually had a couple of cupcakes sent to the venue just for me so that I could celebrate my birthday,

00:04:39.540 since my birthday was going to be so hectic and much more focused on the bride.

00:04:43.020 Fair enough.

00:04:43.900 My parents were really sweet, and so they sent me a couple of cupcakes.

00:04:46.960 And then I went from the wedding to the airport, where I then took a flight, had a layover,

00:04:54.140 and got back to Virginia at 11.30 a.m. the next day.

00:04:58.600 It was insane.

00:05:00.820 And I've never had a travel itinerary that was that intense.

00:05:05.000 Let me know in the comments, what's your craziest travel story?

00:05:08.020 I don't know if this is my craziest, but it's definitely one of them,

00:05:10.580 because traveling that much, taking four flights in 24 hours, is kind of insane.

00:05:17.220 And I did it.

00:05:18.280 I'm really proud of myself that I did.

00:05:20.280 And I got to celebrate with my friend, which was awesome.

00:05:22.400 So if my 27th year is as crazy as the first day of it was, this is going to be an exciting year.

00:05:29.620 I did want to mention this little sweater, sweatshirt thing.

00:05:33.320 I got this for my birthday.

00:05:35.040 My mom gave this to me, and I have been loving it.

00:05:37.720 It was so cozy and comfy.

00:05:38.960 I got it at Kohl's.

00:05:39.860 If I can find it, I will link it for you guys in the description box.

00:05:42.980 But I just have been wearing it nonstop.

00:05:45.780 It's so warm and just comfy and cozy for the season.

00:05:49.240 So next up, I wanted to talk about my new bread maker.

00:05:54.620 I know.

00:05:55.480 Actually, there's a little bit of a story about the bread maker anyway.

00:05:57.960 So I ordered the bread maker on Prime Day, because it was like $10 cheaper, I think.

00:06:02.600 And then I looked back two weeks later, and it was $40 cheaper.

00:06:06.580 So I ended up actually returning the one that I got on Prime Day,

00:06:10.000 and then buying it again for $40 cheaper and saving a bunch of money.

00:06:14.300 I think it's still around the same price.

00:06:16.640 I think it's around $60 now.

00:06:18.060 It hovers between $60 and $100.

00:06:20.500 So just check on Amazon.

00:06:22.040 I'll link it below.

00:06:23.220 And I have been obsessed.

00:06:25.100 I've made four loaves of bread in like a week.

00:06:28.720 And they are so delicious.

00:06:31.000 I have been loving this thing.

00:06:32.880 I don't know how I lived without it.

00:06:34.420 Of course, I wasn't a huge bread maker before,

00:06:36.720 but now it's just so easy for me to set it up and not even think about it.

00:06:40.460 And I know a lot of people find making bread therapeutic.

00:06:43.380 I'm someone who doesn't always have the time to just sit down and make bread.

00:06:46.860 So having a bread maker and having freshly made bread is such a nice thing.

00:06:50.940 When I don't actually have the time to knead it and let it rise and all of that,

00:06:54.600 I can just put it in the machine, turn it on,

00:06:56.080 and then three hours later, I have a loaf of beautiful bread.

00:06:59.320 I kind of love it.

00:07:00.520 And I'd love to know if you have any great bread recipes.

00:07:03.360 Let me know in the comments, because I am loving making bread at home.

00:07:06.880 And I would love to hear if you guys have some good suggestions.

00:07:10.040 Next up, I just wanted to remind you guys that my Classically Abby earrings,

00:07:14.300 which I had on pre-sale a couple of weeks ago that I made with Rachel Lynn Jewelry,

00:07:18.660 those are now retailing.

00:07:20.660 So we had them for pre-sale a couple of weeks ago.

00:07:22.820 Then we closed sales for a week, and now they're reopened.

00:07:26.300 And it's the perfect gift for friends, family, wives, girlfriends, moms.

00:07:31.460 So beautiful for the holiday season.

00:07:33.380 I think that they would make the perfect holiday gift, either for someone else or for yourself.

00:07:38.720 So feel free to purchase those.

00:07:40.900 I will link them in the description box below, and you guys can check them out.

00:07:45.140 I love these earrings.

00:07:46.540 I've worn them to two weddings this season,

00:07:48.900 and I'm hoping to wear them throughout the holiday season and going into the next year.

00:07:54.380 So I really love them, and I think you guys will love them too.

00:07:57.420 I designed them with you guys in mind, as you guys know.

00:07:59.800 So those will be linked too.

00:08:01.500 Let's talk a little bit about the election.

00:08:03.940 So the election has been called for Biden by most people,

00:08:07.760 but it is still up in the air because there are recounts, there are lawsuits.

00:08:12.320 And so I think at this point, at least for me, I have been feeling more calm about it.

00:08:17.480 Maybe because I don't know exactly what's going to happen, and I'm just not thinking about it.

00:08:21.840 I'm kind of letting it solve itself.

00:08:24.280 But I just have found a little bit more calm in the whole situation by saying,

00:08:28.220 okay, whatever happens is in God's hands, and I can't control it.

00:08:32.720 And it is very, obviously, the election was incredibly close.

00:08:36.360 I mean, we know, even if Biden does win, even if he was the winner,

00:08:41.160 that it was an incredibly close race, which is a very interesting thing.

00:08:45.980 But the fact of the matter is, we really can't call the election with all of these things up in the air.

00:08:50.760 So I'm just kind of letting the situation be.

00:08:53.680 Let me know in the comments how you guys are feeling about it.

00:08:55.820 I'd love to hear.

00:08:56.880 And that's it for today's video.

00:08:58.800 I hope you guys enjoyed it.

00:09:00.460 I know I kept it kind of short and sweet this week,

00:09:02.620 but I would say that the biggest part of this week was my travel plans.

00:09:06.740 So that was really crazy.

00:09:08.480 And since then, it's been mostly calm here at home.

00:09:11.780 And I've just been mostly focusing on work.

00:09:13.860 But I'd love to hear from you guys.
