00:01:22.980 Because then, anytime you're sick, anytime you're not feeling well, it's proof that your baby is healthy.

00:01:29.940 And after having lost our first baby, when I feel sick, I am so, so grateful.

00:01:35.400 So every part of pregnancy, I just feel grateful.

00:01:38.060 I don't think we need to downplay how difficult pregnancy can be in order to justify the life of the child.

00:01:50.240 Any struggles or anything that means the baby's doing well, I'm fine with.

00:02:12.440 hopefully some of these things give you some good perspective on why pregnancy is great.

00:02:18.980 So the first amazing part of pregnancy is feeling the baby move.

00:02:24.360 So I am 20 weeks.

00:02:26.360 And I've started feeling the baby move around 16 weeks.

00:02:30.240 Although it's been very inconsistent.

00:02:32.100 Even now, I would say it's inconsistent.

00:02:34.120 There are some days the baby moves a lot.

00:02:36.240 And there are other days that I don't feel it so much.

00:02:38.540 Which is pretty normal for 20 weeks.

00:02:40.520 The baby's still not big enough that you would be feeling it every single day.

00:02:44.340 And have like a rhythm with it.

00:02:46.120 But I do feel the baby move.

00:02:47.980 And just about 5 days ago, I felt the baby kick.

00:02:54.140 And it was the most amazing feeling in the world.

00:02:57.860 It literally took my breath away.

00:02:59.200 I was talking to Jacob and all of a sudden I gasped.

00:03:01.880 Because it felt like I was being poked from the inside.

00:03:04.820 That's what it feels like.

00:03:05.700 It feels like something is poking you in your belly from the inside.

00:03:12.020 I mean, it doesn't feel like anything else you've ever felt before.

00:03:15.380 The little movements I felt before that, they almost feel like a fluttering.

00:03:25.260 And I've felt that a little bit since then.

00:04:18.040 It's hard to figure out what your new body type is because I had to go to the store and

00:04:22.560 I was shopping and I wasn't really able to find things that worked, looked good on me

00:04:27.500 and felt comfortable and were flattering and were the right size.

00:04:32.180 But then when you kind of figure out what you need from your clothes and what you like in

00:04:36.720 your clothes, it is so much fun dressing the bump and wearing things that make you

00:04:43.880 Like this top I just recently got, it's kind of like a dress, but I think it'll

00:04:47.880 grow with me throughout the pregnancy.

00:04:50.500 And it'll be pretty after the pregnancy.

00:04:52.880 So I have bought mostly non-maternity items that just sized up because I assume after I 0.90

00:04:58.940 have the baby, I'm probably not going to be right at my pre-pregnancy weight right away.

00:05:02.840 So if that's the case, it's nice to have some clothing that I feel comfortable wearing

00:05:06.760 for the first however long until I get down to the size that I like for my body.

00:05:12.040 And so I have been enjoying kind of buying things that can be used during pregnancy and

00:05:18.340 after pregnancy, but also just really make the bump feel special.

00:05:22.640 Number three is the urge to take care of myself for the health of my baby.

00:05:28.200 So I think we all struggle a little bit with needing to take care of ourselves and actually

00:05:33.460 doing that.

00:05:34.680 So before I was pregnant, if I didn't eat that healthy, it was like, okay, whatever.

00:05:38.720 If I didn't exercise for a couple of weeks, it was like, okay, whatever.

00:05:42.460 But when you're pregnant, you realize that everything you do is affecting your baby too.

00:05:47.680 So it really encourages you to want to be better and be healthier.

00:05:52.760 So I want to exercise more.

00:05:54.920 I want to eat healthier.

00:05:56.600 I want to provide a good home for this baby and make sure that I'm taking care of myself,

00:06:02.260 not only to create a good environment for the baby, but also because I want to have,

00:06:06.500 please God, a healthy, easy labor.

00:06:09.200 And then after that, an easy recovery.

00:06:11.300 I recognize that anything can happen.

00:06:13.820 So I'm not saying that things are going to go smoothly.

00:06:16.500 I do not know, but it is good to try to do everything you can to make that a possibility.

00:06:23.240 So eating healthier, exercising, being more mindful of what products I use on my skin so

00:06:30.060 that it doesn't get through to the placenta, that kind of stuff.

00:06:33.620 It's kind of a nice thing to know that your actions have a direct influence on your baby.

00:06:41.800 So it makes you be better about taking care of yourself.

00:06:44.560 The fourth thing I love about being pregnant is loving my body for what it's doing, not

00:06:51.880 I know that pregnancy can be a big challenge for many women as they have to adjust to their 0.94

00:06:58.480 And I struggle with that a little bit, but mostly if I even go into that territory where

00:07:04.280 I start to be questioning my figure, I immediately respond with, but think about what your body

00:07:18.880 Why would I care what my body looks like when it's doing this incredible thing?

00:07:24.160 I, for the most part, don't feel any sort of vanity about my body because I'm so grateful

00:07:55.780 noticed about pregnancy and I wanted to include it, is how time moves differently now.

00:08:01.360 I said to Jacob after we got pregnant and through the first trimester that it almost feels like

00:08:08.860 Like before this time, one or two or three years, yeah, it passes and you notice it,

00:08:15.320 but it's kind of like fluid.

00:08:16.940 But when you're pregnant every week, the baby is growing so much.

00:08:21.400 And then when the baby's born, the baby's going to grow so much every year.

00:08:26.740 And all of a sudden time means something because I'm growing a person and then that person is

00:08:32.460 going to grow and be a part of our lives forever.

00:08:34.740 And it's an amazing thing to recognize that time now exists in a sense.

00:08:44.620 You recognize how short life is and that's a beautiful thing and also a sad thing.

00:08:51.580 But I'm grateful to have this feeling of, okay, I know now what it feels like when time moves.
