00:00:00.000 Hello friends and welcome to today's video where I'm going to be giving you a nursery tour.
00:00:30.000 I have been waiting so long to give you guys this tour and I cannot wait to show you everything.
00:00:37.200 We spent such a long time deciding what we wanted in this room, putting it all together,
00:00:42.160 and the thing to keep in mind is that we are not going to be in this house all that long before we move.
00:00:49.540 So this is all temporary, which is why it might feel slightly temporary when you look at it because we didn't build a crib,
00:00:56.960 we don't have a dresser, we're using a pack and play, so we have a bunch of baskets for clothes and stuff like that
00:01:02.660 and we're using a pack and play for the bassinet and for the changing table.
00:01:06.100 But we don't have that crib that you know you imagine when you think about a nursery.
00:01:12.780 But I'm really excited to share the room with you because it's really cute.
00:01:17.780 So we're going to do this vlog style, I'm going to walk around, I'm going to point things out,
00:01:21.660 I'm going to explain the history of how this room came together, and let's get into it.
00:01:26.960 I forgot to mention, before we start, if you're not already subscribed to my channel,
00:01:31.880 make sure to subscribe and hit that notification bell.
00:01:34.780 And if you'd like to become a premium subscriber of my Substack newsletter,

00:01:44.940 Now, let's get into it.
00:01:47.240 Okay, so the first thing you will notice is when we walk into this room, it is woodland themed.
00:01:54.560 That was what we decided to go with.
00:01:56.340 Jacob and I both love woodland animals, and we just thought this would be so much fun for our baby.
00:02:03.440 So that is what we went with.
00:02:06.620 Now, when I close the door, you can see we've got a little sign that says blessed.
00:02:11.640 This used to be above our bed, but I thought it would be really cute in the nursery.
00:02:16.820 Now, on this wall, you can see we have a quilt hanging, and I actually ordered this for the crib initially.
00:02:23.780 It was like a set of sheets and a little bed skirt and this quilt, but you can't actually use a quilt around a baby when they're sleeping.
00:02:32.720 It's unsafe.
00:02:33.320 So we decided to turn it into a wall hanging, and my mom was amazing.
00:02:37.280 She put a couple of hooks right on top there, and we were able to hang it, and it is so pretty.
00:02:44.300 I absolutely love it.
00:02:46.040 I love that it's just a little bit more on the neutral side.
00:02:48.820 We decided to go with just more muted tones.
00:02:51.220 We don't like the bright reds and the bright greens and the bright blues.
00:02:54.160 We like things that are just a little bit more muted.
00:02:56.140 So we went with this, which I absolutely love, and when I pan down, you can see that we have just a little bear hamper, which is so cute, and it was really funny because for my baby shower, I actually got two of these.
00:03:11.380 So I'm using one for a hamper and one for a blanket basket, which you will see in a few minutes, and this is my little cart that I'm using to hold all of my stuff.
00:03:24.400 So I've got a humidifier here, and I've also got this little Easy Top Wipes dispenser.
00:03:32.600 I've heard this is really, really useful.
00:03:34.540 I also have some butt paste there and the bum brush.
00:03:38.260 I was highly recommended both of those products.
00:03:40.700 I also have an Aquaphor cream that is currently in my hospital bag, so that'll be useful for baby, but it isn't here right now.
00:03:49.220 And down here, we've got my breast pump. 1.00
00:03:51.820 This is going to hold all of the breast pump parts, but those are currently being sterilized, so that is why they are not in there.
00:03:58.500 And then if we come all the way down here, this is the diaper caddy.
00:04:02.820 And again, some of the things have been removed because they're in my hospital bag, but we've got little burp cloths, some diapers, wipes, and the PPTVs, and waterproof changing pads for when we have to do night changes.
00:04:18.640 So this is like a really great caddy cart situation that we can use and have access to a lot of different things.
00:04:25.860 It rolls so I can bring it over to me when I need it.
00:04:28.940 P.S.
00:04:29.460 If I sound out of breath, it's because I'm 37 weeks pregnant.
00:04:32.980 That is why.
00:04:34.180 So coming over here, we have a pack and play.
00:04:36.780 Now, this isn't really the pack and play.
00:04:38.100 I think it's called the Mom's Two Breeze or Four Breeze.
00:04:41.720 I'm not totally sure what the name is, but it's like a different version of a pack and play.
00:04:46.180 And this is what we're using before we move.
00:04:48.700 So we are going to be using this for baby's naps.
00:04:52.280 We also have a bassinet in our bedroom, but that'll just be for nighttime.
00:04:56.820 And then this will be used for a changing table.
00:04:59.440 I ordered a mattress pad.
00:05:02.280 It's very, very thin to go on top of the bassinet so that the baby is just slightly more comfortable.
00:05:11.800 And then over here, we have the Diaper Genie. 0.80
00:05:14.420 I've heard great things about the Diaper Genie, and I've heard it's very useful.
00:05:17.680 So we've got that already set up to go.
00:05:20.360 And we have a basket here, which kind of matches the other one.
00:05:24.260 It's slightly smaller.
00:05:25.160 It's a little different.
00:05:26.560 A little bear basket to go with our woodland theme that has a bunch of blankets in it.
00:05:30.280 So we can grab blankets from there for a little man.
00:05:33.220 Up here, we just have a lamp.
00:05:34.460 It's just an extra lamp that we had in our house.
00:05:38.260 And I figured it would be best in the nursery because we actually don't have any overhead lighting in here.
00:05:43.840 And we have these two pictures up on the wall, which we love.
00:05:48.880 So I actually found this one right here at Goodwill.
00:05:52.360 And it is so cute.
00:05:54.340 You can see I need to remove that tag in the left corner.
00:05:57.700 But it is so much fun.
00:05:59.920 And Jacob loves bears, so I saw this and I was like, we have to have this for the nursery.
00:06:04.040 And of course, it was from Goodwill, so it wasn't expensive.
00:06:06.340 And then over here, this is from TJ Maxx.
00:06:09.200 And we love Highland Cows.
00:06:11.280 It's just like a weird obsession.
00:06:12.660 We both love them.
00:06:13.520 So I thought it would be really fun to have this in the nursery as well.
00:06:17.400 Pulling back over here, this is my glider.
00:06:21.200 And oh my gosh, do I love it.
00:06:23.480 I love this glider so much.
00:06:25.360 It is so comfortable.
00:06:26.400 I got it on Amazon.
00:06:27.400 We had initially ordered something from Bye Bye Baby.
00:06:30.340 And the delivery time was insane.
00:06:32.700 Like it wasn't even going to get here before the baby was born.
00:06:34.800 And I had ordered it back in November or December.
00:06:37.480 So that was stressing me out.
00:06:38.600 So I decided to just get this on Amazon.
00:06:40.320 I love it.
00:06:41.520 And it is so comfortable.
00:06:42.920 I have napped in here multiple times now.
00:06:45.640 And it's covered in some of my favorite things.
00:06:47.520 So this quilt was actually gifted to us by my mother-in-law.
00:06:51.600 She had it made for us.
00:06:53.620 And it is beautiful.
00:06:54.500 The other side is also gorgeous.
00:06:55.960 It's blue and white.
00:06:56.760 But I have it folded with the deer on the outside, which I love.
00:07:01.200 And then we've got this little bear, which she also got for us.
00:07:05.360 A highland cow and a little sheep, which we got when we were on a British Isles cruise.
00:07:10.920 Jacob and I got those.
00:07:12.060 This little otter.
00:07:13.580 And that is my boppy.
00:07:15.160 So the boppy is a breastfeeding pillow that apparently really helps.
00:07:19.160 And I got this really cute cover, which I love.
00:07:21.240 Now, panning down here, we have this adorable guy.
00:07:27.120 So cute.
00:07:28.500 It's like a little ottoman.
00:07:30.160 But it'll be fun for our boy when he grows up.
00:07:32.280 He can sit on it and play on it.
00:07:33.840 And it's also a nice place to rest your feet.
00:07:36.280 So it's really, really cute.
00:07:37.660 Now, this was an amazing find.
00:07:40.940 I found this incredible side table at Goodwill.
00:07:45.820 And I love it.
00:07:47.000 I think it is so absolutely gorgeous.
00:07:49.940 I'm just, I've never seen something so unique and beautiful at Goodwill before.
00:07:55.820 I was so pleased with it.
00:07:57.500 And it's in perfect condition.
00:07:59.140 So I absolutely love it in here.
00:08:01.040 It's kind of like my little corner.
00:08:02.820 This is my little space right here.
00:08:04.440 And then we have the sound machine here.
00:08:08.160 I have hatched sound machine as well.
00:08:09.900 That's in our bedroom for when the baby's sleeping at night.
00:08:12.700 And this little lamp, which was a bit of a splurge.
00:08:16.340 But I just, I loved it so much.
00:08:18.220 And I thought it brought so much character to the room.
00:08:20.620 Again, it has a bear.
00:08:21.680 So that's very much on brand for us.
00:08:23.980 And the little constellations are very, very cute.
00:08:26.860 This on here is also a coaster.
00:08:28.640 But that's just, you know, for usefulness whenever I have a drink in here.
00:08:32.060 So yeah, that's the side table situation.
00:08:35.420 And within each drawer, we have just some stuff that's useful to us right now.
00:08:38.760 So these are some laundry bags, like mesh laundry bags to wash baby socks and things like that.
00:08:44.480 In here, we just have like a cleaned little thing for a pacifier. 0.98
00:08:49.840 And then I'm keeping all of the manuals down here.
00:08:53.160 Because I'm not sure I'm going to remember how all this stuff works.
00:08:55.740 So I've just kept all the manuals here.
00:08:58.140 Now, I forgot to introduce our little bear rug.
00:09:01.880 This is the cutest thing.
00:09:03.660 I just love it so much.
00:09:05.820 And again, it goes on theme.
00:09:07.540 It's on brand.
00:09:08.460 It'll be perfect for our little boy.
00:09:10.320 And I just really love it in the rest of the room.
00:09:14.300 This bear was a beautiful decor piece at my baby shower that was given to us.
00:09:20.160 And he also fits in perfectly.
00:09:22.240 Before I move on to the bookcase, which is kind of acting as a dresser for us, this is my diaper bag.
00:09:29.660 I really like it.
00:09:31.140 It's already packed for the hospital.
00:09:33.860 And it has his outfits and some things that we need.
00:09:36.460 So that is in there already.
00:09:38.560 I'm not going to open up the closet just because it's kind of a storage space more than anything.
00:09:43.860 It has some boxes and some things that we're not using quite yet.
00:09:47.500 So there is a closet in here, but it's not really for stuff that we're using currently.
00:09:53.760 So it's not really relevant.
00:09:55.420 You know, our carriers are in there and a couple of other things.
00:09:59.560 But it's not like stuff that you guys need to see.
00:10:02.400 Okay, so let's start here.
00:10:04.540 Here we have my bookcase.
00:10:06.900 So this is the baby's bookcase.
00:10:09.200 We've got all these books.
00:10:10.740 And people wrote beautiful notes in here for us for the baby shower, which I love.
00:10:15.620 Every book we got is different, which is incredible.
00:10:19.040 This is actually my own set of Harry Potter books that I got while I was in my master's.
00:10:23.480 So I figured I would put it in here.
00:10:25.020 More appropriate in a child's room than an adult's room. 0.96
00:10:27.880 Up here we have my little Canon printer so that I can print pictures to put in the baby book.
00:10:33.340 And I just thought that would be more useful than me trying to remember to get things printed
00:10:38.120 and doing that like every six months as opposed to just doing it when I want to.
00:10:41.820 Now this is a bottle warmer, but I just thought that would be a good fit for it right now.
00:10:46.560 Probably won't stay there forever.
00:10:47.940 And these are just some albums that are of me and Jacob, of our relationship.
00:10:51.160 So that is the bookcase.
00:10:54.180 Coming down here, this basket is all of the newborn clothes as well as a couple of swaddles.
00:11:02.700 So this is just some little baby clothes wrapped up here.
00:11:06.140 This is the most relevant basket for the moment.
00:11:09.360 Then we've got this basket, this skinny little basket, which has baby socks, baby mittens, baby hats.
00:11:17.860 Then we've got some muslin swaddles here.
00:11:21.260 And this is a baby wrap.
00:11:23.840 I can't remember which one it is.
00:11:25.760 I know there's a couple ones.
00:11:27.040 It's the long one that you tie.
00:11:29.160 And then over here are extra burp cloths.
00:11:31.580 So we keep these clean and when the clean ones are in here, and then we also have some in the diaper caddy for when we need them.
00:11:39.120 Let's shed some more light over here.
00:11:41.700 I just opened the window a little bit.
00:11:44.200 If I pull this out, this is kind of things that we don't need on an everyday basis.
00:11:48.040 It's more like sick stuff, but not only that.
00:11:51.080 So it's got gripe water, we've got the nose Frida, we've got a thermometer, and a nail file.
00:11:59.260 So that's what that basket's for.
00:12:01.980 These are sheets, extra sheets for the bassinet and for the pack and play.
00:12:07.120 And then that pink thing is my nursing cover.
00:12:11.760 But because it normally will go in my diaper bag, but my diaper bag is now packed for the hospital, I'm just keeping it there for the moment.
00:12:17.300 This is all of the baby's bath time stuff.
00:12:20.420 So towels, and we've got some soap back here, stuff like that.
00:12:25.600 And then this is going to have all of the sterilized bottles in it, but for the moment, those things are being sterilized.
00:12:33.300 So that is what those are.
00:12:34.720 And then here are all of the newborn diapers.
00:12:36.800 So they're all ready for us here.
00:12:38.580 Coming down here, we've got our little baskets for zero to three. 0.99
00:12:43.220 So up here is newborn.
00:12:45.380 Down here is zero to three.
00:12:46.740 When the baby grows out of newborn, we will transfer this stuff into the big basket up here.
00:12:52.320 And then we'll put three to six in here.
00:12:55.060 Or we'll be moved so we can have a dresser.
00:12:57.920 But this has, you know, some little bibs.
00:13:00.280 This has some little outfits.
00:13:01.920 And this has sleepers for zero to three months.
00:13:05.660 And then we've got some extra stuff over there.
00:13:09.620 So we have dish soap for the baby.
00:13:11.840 We have little bags for when I'm out and about and I need to change him so I can put his diapers in.
00:13:18.000 They're little garbage bags.
00:13:19.140 And then those are pacifier and bottle wipes if he drops something and I need to clean it quickly.
00:13:24.980 And then down here is most of the extra stuff.
00:13:27.260 So we've got some extra diapers.
00:13:30.320 We have a Love Every box, which I'm excited to use with him.
00:13:33.160 We've got some extra wipes.
00:13:34.680 We've got some extra diaper genie bags.
00:13:36.380 And we have the heating pad, which we will use in the bassinet to help him kind of fall asleep easier.
00:13:43.040 It will go on first and then we will take it out and then we will put him in there.
00:13:46.160 But it just makes it warmer for him before we actually put him down.
00:13:49.480 So that is the nursery.
00:13:51.360 We love it.
00:13:52.760 Woodland themed.
00:13:54.000 Very organized.
00:13:55.640 We're ready for this little guy.
00:13:57.420 So that is my official nursery tour.
00:14:00.160 I hope you guys enjoyed it.
