00:00:16.140 to Marshall's and see if I can find any of their higher-end makeup for cheaper
00:00:20.520 prices. So what I ended up finding was the Anastasia Subculture palette which
00:00:25.440 was a big deal a few... was it even a year ago or a few months ago? But it was
00:00:30.600 just a big hullabaloo about it because people were criticizing it, saying that it
00:00:34.140 was too powdery, that the formula was muddy. I was interested in trying it and I
00:00:38.940 wasn't going to spend $45 just to get something that wasn't great so I went to
00:00:43.140 Marshall's and I found this and it was $19 which was so great and I figured that
00:00:48.120 this would be a good opportunity for me to actually try it and see for myself
00:00:51.560 whether it was good without shelling out $45.
00:00:54.160 I'm thinking about making this into a series where I go into Marshall's or TJ
00:00:57.880 Maxx and find high-end makeup for discounted prices and then trying it on
00:01:01.500 camera. I know I'm a little bit late to the game because this has been reviewed

00:01:09.520 baby open. I will say I did use this once but I haven't used all the shades so
00:01:15.160 what I did realize when I was using it is that people are kind of right the
00:01:18.540 shadows are powdery so if you go in with one brush and you like push
00:01:24.140 in really hard then it's gonna powder is gonna go everywhere. If you know that in

00:01:36.860 eyeshadows are but the packaging is really cute. I will say that this is what it
00:01:41.000 looks like. This is what the inside looks like. So you've only got two shimmer shades.

00:01:53.100 matte shades and there are a bunch of colors that aren't super normal so I know

00:02:07.300 shades. Let's get started. I zoomed you guys in and we're gonna get started with a
00:02:10.920 transition shade which means a lighter shade that you put all over the lid to
00:02:14.800 help everything else blend out. So I'm gonna start with Dawn. That's this shade
00:02:18.580 and it's it's like a little bit of a lightish brown close to my skin tone but
00:02:23.360 it's gonna be a little bit deeper. I'm gonna start with a big fluffy brush and I'm
00:02:26.740 just gonna go all over the lid with it and you can see immediately I go in and
00:02:30.880 there's just powder so it is it is powdery. Let's get these creases out of my
00:02:38.640 concealer and we're just gonna put that all over the eyelid and just kind of do
00:02:47.580 windshield wiper motions back and forth just to help that blend out. Now let's
00:02:52.380 go in with the shade Destiny which is kind of like a camo green. It's right here. I'm
00:02:57.720 gonna go in with a slightly smaller fluffy brush. Oh this yeah this is powdery. I'm gonna
00:03:04.880 tap off some of the excess and I'm just gonna put this in on the outer edge.
00:03:10.320 Wow. So this is super pigmented. You can see I immediately touched my eye and like
00:03:15.980 all of a sudden I have all of this color right just deposited right where I put
00:03:19.760 the brush. As soon as I put the brush down with the color it's a little bit
00:03:24.800 hard to blend it out from where I originally placed the color which is a
00:03:29.120 little bit hard because you don't want it to look patchy. The color is pretty and it
00:03:40.820 is unique it's not something you're gonna get in every palette so that's that's a
00:03:43.940 good thing. I'm going to now take untamed which is a little bit more of a
00:03:47.720 forest green right here and I'm just gonna make take a little pencil brush and
00:03:52.340 I'm gonna go into the outer V of my eye just a little bit more specifically to
00:03:59.420 darken that up so this color isn't as powdery. Now that may be because I'm going
00:04:09.380 in with a brush that's not that's like densely packed so it's not gonna be
00:04:14.300 hitting it in a way that's gonna spread the powder everywhere. This does come on a
00:04:19.760 little bit patchy but again I'm not using a brush that's meant for blending this
00:04:23.900 is really just for placing the color. So I'm gonna go back into Destiny and I'm
00:04:29.600 gonna use that on a fluffy brush to blend this out I think you can tell I'm
00:04:38.480 having a bit of a hard time getting an even blend over my eyes but I do like the
00:04:43.760 colors I think that the colors are really pretty and maybe with just a little
00:04:48.620 bit more time blending it would work well so I'm not gonna write it off just yet so
00:04:54.920 now I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take the color axis that's this kind of teal blue
00:04:59.000 on the end here and I'm gonna take it on an angled brush and put that under the
00:05:03.140 lash line very very pigmented just immediately I notice as I put this on the
00:05:10.180 eye very pigmented and I'll say that about all the colors even though they're
00:05:14.300 all powdery they're very very pigmented like as soon as I touch my eye I'm
00:05:18.500 getting a full amount of color I don't have to build it up and now I'm gonna
00:05:22.640 blend that out with a small brush using Dawn again so Dawn is this is a good
00:05:27.620 technique just generally is you have a you have your transition shade and then
00:05:32.120 you use it to blend out all the other colors that you're going to be putting
00:05:35.920 on your eyes because trying to blend out dark colors with darkness is just not
00:05:41.520 gonna really work and it's gonna make things look really messy but going in
00:05:44.640 with a lighter color to help blend can really make a difference cool so now
00:05:51.000 we've dealt with all of the matches I'm gonna use in this look and I'm gonna now
