00:00:00.000 Hello beautiful ladies and welcome back to my channel where everything is different.
00:00:05.820 As you can see I have a new studio set up. I have some twinkly lights behind me which I had
00:00:11.640 in my last space and I also have some new flowers and candles and a perfume and pictures and things
00:00:19.140 like that. I'm so excited because I really got to have creative control over my background
00:00:24.400 and before I was just shooting in my guest bedroom and trying to make that work. I'm so
00:00:29.760 excited to be back because so many things have happened in the past month. Jacob and I moved
00:00:35.700 which I talked about in my last video. We also went on a cruise. We toured around the British Isles
00:00:40.940 so I figured I would do a little bit of makeup, get ready with me, show you some discount things
00:00:46.280 and a few new things and then also talk to you guys and just tell you where I've been,
00:00:51.380 what I've been up to. So as you can see I have nothing on my face so we're just gonna start
00:00:56.500 from the beginning and catch up.
00:01:01.960 So the first thing I'm going to do is go in with an old favorite. I'm gonna go in with
00:01:05.340 the Boscia Perfecting White Charcoal Mattifying Treatment Primer. Longest name. I actually got
00:01:11.840 this in another discount makeup video and I've been using it ever since. I love it. It really makes my
00:01:20.260 makeup last all day and it doesn't allow any of my natural oils to peek through which is super nice.
00:01:29.640 My skin is combination so I have oily spots and I have dry patches but this kind of evens it all out
00:01:39.100 which is odd because normally a mattifying primer would be bad for dry patches. I don't have that
00:01:44.100 issue with this so that's really nice. And the next thing I'm going to go in with is my L'Oreal
00:01:48.320 Infallible Foundation 24-hour fresh wear. Jacob and I made the big move to Nebraska which is so crazy to
00:01:58.300 think about and it was really nice because my mom and my dad came out and helped us unpack and then
00:02:04.620 Jacob's mom also came out and helped us put everything together. It was just really lovely because our
00:02:10.660 families really helped us out with the move. Moving cross country really hard. It's really different
00:02:19.180 than just moving from one place in a city to another place because you have to make sure everything is
00:02:26.040 wrapped really really well since it's going to break in transit. Like there's just it's just so far to
00:02:32.940 drive that things are just going to get jostled and if you write fragile on anything it's still going to be
00:02:39.520 at the bottom of the pile. Don't you worry. So yeah I was really taking my time and packing
00:02:46.140 everything up while Jacob studied for the bar and it was not easy. I am not the best at packing or
00:02:52.620 unpacking. I'm really good at like organizing my house but putting things in boxes and trying to
00:02:58.140 figure out which the which is the best place for each thing not so much. But we eventually made it
00:03:06.220 here and I wrote about it in a blog post and I kind of was saying how crazy things were during the
00:03:12.440 move. We had a truck driver who like couldn't make it onto our street and so we had all of our stuff
00:03:18.540 and we didn't know if we could get it into our house even and Jacob was really amazing and he like
00:03:23.860 worked it out with the company and they drove up and eventually made it onto our street but it was a
00:03:28.600 really tricky moment. Thank goodness it all worked out. So we got here and we moved in and I have my
00:03:36.360 own studio which I'm so excited about. I have all this space to play with and I'm really happy that
00:03:42.140 I can actually like go in my area, go in my space and make my videos and just have complete creative
00:03:50.180 control. That makes me really excited. We got here and moved in and within a week of moving in here
00:03:56.880 we actually went on vacation to the British Isles. We did a cruise. It was my first cruise ever.
00:04:04.600 It was so much fun and you know I think a lot of people do cruises with family. They will get
00:04:11.060 everyone together and go and I can see how that would be so much fun. It makes me want to do that
00:04:15.540 now but at the same time Jacob and I just went alone and we had no internet. We had no phone connection
00:04:22.040 and we just got to spend time together totally not distracted and that was really amazing and I highly
00:04:28.760 recommend doing it more often than we do, right? Like take time and just get off the internet. Get off
00:04:34.920 social media. I love social media. I have fun with it. I'm really happy to be able to communicate with you
00:04:39.960 guys and talk to you and it's really fun but also it can be really distracting because you're with someone in
00:04:46.020 person and you kind of want to see what people are up to online and that's a very complicated
00:04:51.360 mixed up kind of feeling. The next thing I'm going to do is some color correcting under my eyes and then
00:04:56.800 I'm going to go in with concealer. Normally I would do color correcting before foundation but I forgot
00:05:00.960 so I'm going to do it now. I'm using the Revlon Photo Ready color correcting pen and then I'm going to be
00:05:08.640 using the Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer. So one of the things I did while we were traveling
00:05:13.980 is and this is something my sister recommended to me a long time ago and I have been doing it ever since
00:05:20.300 and I'm so happy that I do it which is that I keep a journal when we travel and I write down everything
00:05:26.100 that we did because I know I'm going to forget and I also know I'm not going to take pictures of every single
00:05:31.680 thing that we do so I like to write it down and then look back a few years later and be like oh yeah I forgot
00:05:37.640 that that kind of small random thing happened but that was really funny but it was just so much fun. We went on
00:05:42.700 Celebrity Cruise Lines and we had an indoor cabin. We didn't even have a window which I thought was
00:05:48.140 going to drive me crazy because I really I like thrive off of natural light. My husband says I'm
00:05:53.980 solar powered and so I was like a little bit worried about it but the cabins are huge. They're so big I
00:06:00.880 didn't feel kind of claustrophobic at all. The only thing was that on the flight over oh here's the
00:06:08.520 story friends but before I tell it I'm just going to set my under eye and my face so I'm using the
00:06:14.960 Bare Minerals mineral veil for under my eyes which is a loose powder and then I'm going to use the
00:06:19.680 Neutrogena shine control powder all over my face. So Jacob and I were at the airport in Houston for our
00:06:27.680 layover and we decided to get something to eat. Okay normal decision seems like that should be fine
00:06:35.580 right? Not so much. We got on the plane and we're watching Jumanji which is hilarious really enjoyed
00:06:43.600 it but all of a sudden I was feeling really nauseous and I do tend to get nauseated when we fly or when
00:06:50.440 we travel anyways but I'll usually take Dramamine and I got C bands for our trip by the way highly
00:06:57.320 recommend super helpful. As we were watching Jumanji I was getting more and more nauseous and I ended up
00:07:02.880 having food poisoning and then that for some reason turned into a cold so we got onto the cruise and
00:07:10.160 within a day or two I had a really bad cold and then it resolved in about three days which I was very
00:07:16.940 very happy about. It didn't last the whole trip but you know it's not great to have a cold while you're on
00:07:22.720 vacation. Okay so we have our base set and now I'm going to do my brows. So I'm just going to be using the
00:07:30.180 LA Girl Brow Pomade in soft black. Yes I have black eyebrows and I'm going to use just an angled brush.
00:07:39.940 I apologize if you can hear the lawn stuff happening outside but I'm just going to keep talking.
00:07:44.940 Now I'm going to do my contour bronzer and my blush and I'm using these two little travel size
00:07:54.680 Physicians Formula Butter Blush and Bronzer and I got these in a really cute little like travel size
00:08:00.700 bag that they were doing a promotion for at CVS and it came with a perfume which as we all know
00:08:07.000 Butter Bronzer has the best scent. I have brought these with me while I was traveling and it was so
00:08:12.460 useful because they're so small but they're also great quality. And then I'm going to be using my
00:08:17.000 Milani Baked Bronzer and I'm going to be using my Anastasia Glow Kit. Throwback for my highlight.
00:08:24.900 So we started off the cruise. We actually flew to Amsterdam and originally we were going to walk
00:08:31.740 around Amsterdam for a bit but I had the fever cold food poisoning situation so we decided to just get
00:08:40.120 on the cruise as early as possible. We went from there to England. We went to Dover and we saw the
00:08:49.620 White Cliffs of Dover which are stunning. And we also saw a castle there. What is it called?
00:09:00.340 Dover Castle which was really cool. And if you've ever seen the movie Beckett which we did a review of
00:09:07.120 go check that out. I'll link it down below. The castle that Henry II built is actually the castle in
00:09:13.580 Dover. I didn't have the best time in Dover overall just because I still had a cold and it was really
00:09:19.260 rainy and cold to be expected I guess because I've heard that about England. But it was also not like
00:09:25.800 most exciting city or town. It was a coastal city and it was really fun but it was not as exciting as
00:09:32.240 other places. Suggestions. Cruise suggestions. Let's put those out there. Shore excursions. Shore excursions are
00:09:39.440 really really expensive. We did one and it was really fun and I'm glad we did it but it was also
00:09:46.600 really really overpriced. I don't think that I would have necessarily paid that much generally but
00:09:55.100 they make you feel like oh if you do this then you'll for sure get back on the ship and if you
00:09:59.200 don't do it with us then you probably won't and I don't think that's true. So we did one tour that we
00:10:06.760 actually just got at the port. So we did that in Inverness and it was that was like one of my
00:10:17.020 favorite days. We did a tour of Loch Ness, Cawdor Castle which is the one from Macbeth. We stopped in
00:10:25.480 Buley and it was just a gorgeous incredible tour. I actually bought that jacket that I've been posting
00:10:32.580 pictures of for my new blog post on what to wear while you're traveling on a British Isles cruise.
00:10:39.560 I bought that in Inverness and it is like such a cool jacket. I love it so much and I wore it the
00:10:47.480 rest of the trip. It's also kind of lightweight which is really nice because that means I can put
00:10:51.800 a light jacket underneath it and it'll transition for the different seasons which I like too. I also
00:10:59.280 got that really cool like stag pin from Cawdor Castle so that was really cool too. While we were
00:11:06.280 on the ship we also went to a bunch of the quiz shows. They were really funny. So one funny story
00:11:11.440 there was one day that the ship was rocking back and forth horribly like tilting side to side
00:11:19.980 and I was super nauseous nauseated as you may have guessed but I didn't want to miss the events
00:11:26.680 because they're really fun. So Jacob and I went to a show that was like the newlywed game but I was 0.93
00:11:31.900 super nauseous and I really wanted to do it with him. I thought it would be really funny because we
00:11:36.680 are basically newlyweds who are about a year and a half into our marriage. But as they started the
00:11:42.320 show it turned into what I would describe as very sexualized and the two of us were very grateful
00:11:49.780 that I had been too nauseated to participate because for the rest of the cruise you saw these
00:11:57.620 three couples that were chosen and you were like I know too much about your life. I don't really want
00:12:03.560 to know this but that's all I can think about every time I see you. So it was probably for the best.
00:12:10.000 We also did a bunch of whiskey tastings and tours. Jacob and I are big whiskey fans and I mean
00:12:18.660 the best place in the world to do that? Scotland and Ireland. So we really took advantage of that and
00:12:24.920 it was really a lot of fun. So we did a whiskey tasting in Edinburgh. We did a whiskey tasting in
00:12:33.420 Dublin. We did another whiskey tasting in Dublin and we did a whiskey tasting in Middleton. We actually
00:12:41.020 went to the Jameson Distillery which houses a bunch of different Irish whiskey companies. It's a really
00:12:50.980 interesting history. Basically due to a lot of different historical events including Prohibition
00:12:56.560 Ireland's whiskey industry ended up being almost completely eradicated. There were like three
00:13:02.380 distilleries left by the end of like 1945-1950. I think that's right. And so all of the
00:13:10.640 distilleries that were remaining decided to combine their powers and move to Middleton and then they
00:13:16.660 would all produce together in the same location. And that's kind of still what's going on. So now
00:13:22.520 we're done with basically everything besides the eyes and the lips. And those are my two discount
00:13:27.920 products. So I have the Laura Mercier Editorial Eye Palette Intense Clays. I got this from TJ Maxx and
00:13:36.400 it was originally $32 and I got it for $16.99. Now I used this when I sang that concert a few months
00:13:44.320 ago in Virginia and this was wonderful. I didn't know what to expect because it's really intense
00:13:51.280 deep colors and I really wanted to use something that was going to be kind of dramatic but the colors
00:13:58.120 blend out so well surprisingly because they're dark. So I zoomed you guys in so that we can start working
00:14:04.780 on the eyes. So we're going to do a really intense eye look today because I promised that like a few months
00:14:10.820 ago and never did it. But we're first going to start off by just using another palette just to lay down
00:14:17.900 another color that'll just make it a little bit easier to blend out these really dark colors. And I'm using
00:14:23.360 the L'Oreal Paradise Enchanted Palette. I'm going to go in with a fluffy brush and just
00:14:30.220 go in with a nude skin color all over the lid. And then I'm going to take the same brush 0.98
00:14:40.200 and go in with a light brown. So I'm going to use this color here. And maybe mix these two.
00:14:49.520 Have you guys ever been to the British Isles to England or Ireland or Scotland? Have you guys ever
00:14:56.920 been on a cruise? I really am interested to know what other people have done in the cities I've been to
00:15:03.820 because they're just really inmate. Like there's so much to do you can't possibly do all of it. So I'm
00:15:09.880 always curious what did you choose to do in those areas if you were there? What did you do this summer?
00:15:15.000 Did you go on a vacation? Did you just do a stay vacation? That's what that's called. I cannot tell you
00:15:21.640 how upset I am that it's almost the end of summer. What is this? I did not agree to this. And everyone
00:15:28.840 keeps telling me it's almost fall. Get excited. I walked into my grocery store and there was an
00:15:34.820 entire aisle of Halloween stuff. It is August, sir. So the next thing that we're going to do is go in
00:15:44.260 with this really intense blue here. I'm going to take a small fluffy brush and I'm just going to
00:15:49.900 tap this in, tap off the excess, and then really just pat that outer V and then bring it above the
00:15:58.480 crease and in the crease so that you can still see it when my eye is open. When your eye is open like
00:16:04.440 this, you're not going to see any of that blue. So you want to go above the crease a little bit,
00:16:10.500 especially if you have hooded eyes and it will look much better when your eye is open.
00:16:18.700 But you can see like there's, this is such a bright color and it is super easy to blend out,
00:16:28.280 which is really cool. It doesn't look patchy. So which ones of you are excited that fall is coming?
00:16:34.080 Are you like ready for summer to be over? Cool weather, pumpkin spice lattes, Uggs? Is that you?
00:16:42.080 Or are you like me where I'm like, it's going to get cold and cloudy? Surprisingly, when we were in
00:16:48.640 the British Isles, it was, you know, overcast. I would say 85% of the time we were there just because
00:16:55.220 I think that's kind of the weather in that region of the world. And I was not super upset by it. It felt
00:17:03.800 appropriate for where we were, which I think is why I wasn't sad that it wasn't sunny. I mean,
00:17:10.360 when we originally talked about doing a cruise, I was disappointed because I really wanted to go to
00:17:15.680 the Mediterranean and see Greece and just like have it be really warm and sunny and take advantage of
00:17:22.140 summer. But I am really happy that we did this trip because we got to hit all of these major spots
00:17:28.540 in England, Scotland, and Ireland that I don't think we could ever do not on a cruise. It's just
00:17:35.620 set. It would be really expensive to do all of that and stop in all of those cities. And so now I have
00:17:41.160 all of those cities and I've seen them and it was really amazing. Now I'm going to go in with one of
00:17:46.800 these two shades. So this is kind of weird because one of them is brown, one of them is black, but in
00:17:51.600 the pan, they look exactly the same. So I'm just going to dip into one, not sure which, and I'll tip
00:17:59.400 into this one. And I'm going to, again, just deepen up that outer V, but I'm going to keep, I'm not going
00:18:09.000 to drag this one in as far. I'm going to keep it more focused just on the outer part of the eye.
00:18:15.000 I will say one funny thing about traveling in the British Isles is that you're in a foreign country, 1.00
00:18:22.920 but everything is still in English. And that kind of, I don't know why, it just like struck me because
00:18:28.720 I kept expecting to look up and see stuff in other languages and you're not seeing signs in other
00:18:34.240 languages. You're seeing signs in English because that's what they speak that are Gaelic. And they
00:18:39.240 always have the Gaelic, not always, but generally they have Gaelic right next to the English.
00:18:43.640 I am so interested to learn Gaelic. Ooh, look at that. I just put a little bit of black here and
00:18:51.360 it made a spot. So I need to blend that out. Um, Gaelic is fascinating. I, the history of Gaelic is
00:18:58.020 fascinating. And also I just don't know anything about how the pronunciations work. And as someone
00:19:04.560 who loves languages, I sing and understand about six languages. I would really be interested in
00:19:11.740 understanding how their letters correspond with sounds. I think that's really cool. So the next
00:19:18.460 thing I'm going to do is I'm going to take a little angled brush and I'm going to dip into this silver
00:19:26.600 shade. And I'm just going to put this underneath my lower lash line. I'm going to blend it out. But
00:19:36.060 first I'm going to lay this down. Y'all, I am sweating. It is hot in this room. So now I'm
00:19:43.400 going to take this brush, which is like a flat shader brush. It's kind of short and stubby.
00:19:48.580 Uh, this is EcoTools. So you can actually get this at the drugstore. And I am going to take the,
00:19:55.140 I'm going to take from the L'Oreal Paradise Enchanted palette. And I'm going to take that brown that we used
00:20:01.840 in the crease. And I'm just going to blend that out a little bit. Just soften the line.
00:20:08.500 Alrighty. So now for my lid, I'm going to take this pinky taupe shimmer shade, and I'm going to put
00:20:17.060 that more in the inner corner. And then I'm going to take this pinky brown shimmer shade and like blend
00:20:22.400 that in the middle of the eye out towards the outer corner. I'm just going to use my finger for this.
00:20:28.280 As I've mentioned many times on my channel, I really don't think that shimmers are going to apply 0.99
00:20:36.200 as well with a brush. Now I'm going to blend out the edge where the two colors meet.
00:20:45.000 And that's it for the eyeshadow look. So I think this is a really cool kind of smoky. So now I'm
00:20:52.240 going to do some eyeliner, curl my lashes, put on some mascara, and I'm using the WORX Wow Effect
00:20:59.480 All-in-One Mascara. This is Collab Beauty. And this is from Sally's. You can get it from Sally's.
00:21:05.060 And I am doing this because Tati Westbrook recommends this on her channel, and I have been dying to try it.
00:21:11.980 I also just ran out of my Lash Paradise, and it's starting to dry out now, which I love that mascara.
00:21:17.860 Literally amazing. You can get that. It's L'Oreal Lash Paradise. You can get that at any drugstore.
00:21:22.900 But mine's drying out, so I figured I would try something new.
00:21:25.760 Okay, so we're going to try this Collab Beauty Mascara.
00:21:31.260 Ooh, I like the shape, and it's soft touch, which is nice.
00:21:34.640 Oh, okay. So this is what the brush looks like. It's got this one very curved edge.
00:21:40.300 I'm going to try all the different edges and see what it does. Whoa.
00:21:43.520 Whoa.
00:21:43.680 Okay, I used the curved edge first, and I am happy with that decision.
00:21:54.920 And now I'm going to use the other sides just to keep adding definition.
00:22:04.160 Ooh, this is nice.
00:22:08.540 Like, deposits a lot of product, but I like that, and it's not clumpy, which is kind of cool.
00:22:14.200 I will say, it looks like not so voluminous, but I can see combing through this would make a difference.
00:22:24.040 But I like how my lashes look.
00:22:26.420 I mean, there's definitely a difference, right?
00:22:29.440 I'm not crazy.
00:22:31.440 So I just put on one more coat of the mascara.
00:22:34.960 I think it's a really nice mascara.
00:22:37.220 And now I'm going to use the NARS Velvet Lip Glide from TJ Maxx.
00:22:44.720 I got it at TJ Maxx.
00:22:45.600 It was $7.99, and it was originally $14.
00:22:49.300 We're going to put this on, but let's all be clear.
00:22:52.640 This is not the right color for this look.
