Classically Abby - Why WAP Is Degrading To Women, Best Summer Activities, And The TERMINATOR？! ｜｜ The Scoop #3

00:00:00.120 Hello beautiful ladies and welcome to today's episode of The Scoop. 1.00

00:00:06.660 So for those of you who don't know, The Scoop is kind of our weekly catch-up girl chat.

00:00:11.760 It's as if we're going to a coffee shop together and we're just kind of catching up on what

00:00:15.720 went down during the week, what was in the news, what we've been up to, all of that kind

00:00:20.160 of thing.

00:00:20.520 So I'm really excited to get into today's episode because I have so much to talk about.

00:00:25.140 I smell really nice.

00:00:26.320 I just put on perfume because after this video my husband and I are going to dinner

00:00:30.480 and if you guys are interested at some point for me to do kind of like a tour of my background,

00:00:35.060 all of the things that are back here and what it all means to me, let me know because I've

00:00:39.180 been thinking about doing something like that and talking about kind of what I have in my

00:00:43.140 background, where I got everything, and if that's something you guys are interested in

00:00:46.540 then just leave it in the comments below.

00:00:48.140 But let's get into it.

00:00:49.300 So the first thing I want to talk about is something that is not really appropriate and

00:00:53.600 what I would say is definitely not classic.

00:00:56.420 So the first thing I want to mention is the new music video and song, WAP.

00:01:03.360 Now I'm not going to tell you what that means.

00:01:05.760 If you're interested in looking that up, you can. 0.97

00:01:08.160 It's really dirty and it's disgusting. 0.88

00:01:12.280 That song is, uh, it's pretty gross.

00:01:14.260 So I heard about it through Twitter, mostly because my brother did a censored reading of

00:01:20.520 some of the lyrics on his show and I respected him for that because personally I would have

00:01:25.980 done the exact same thing.

00:01:27.420 I would not debase myself by reading those disgusting lyrics uncensored.

00:01:31.620 So he chose to read it censored and it kind of blew up on Twitter and because of that and

00:01:36.120 because of his show I looked at it a little bit and I was not impressed.

00:01:41.440 Let me just say that to me that video was pretty much the epitome of everything I'm

00:01:47.300 against.

00:01:48.120 It's definitely not classic.

00:01:50.360 It definitely is more about that female empowerment that is not empowering at all and just puts

00:01:56.200 you out there to be a sex object for people to look at. 0.75

00:01:59.780 And the fact of the matter is that video was pornographic and it is available on YouTube 0.54

00:02:04.880 for anyone to consume, especially children.

00:02:07.760 And that is obviously something that I as a conservative am really, really against.

00:02:12.880 And I see it as the degradation of women that we think that that is our value to sing about 1.00

00:02:19.560 this very sexual, horribly written lyrics to be honest.

00:02:24.720 I mean every time I listen to it I get a little nauseous and also it's not really music.

00:02:30.740 So there's no music there.

00:02:32.700 So that's also an issue but outside of the technical aspects, it also is just a very clear

00:02:39.120 example to me of how conservative women need to take the culture back because if this is 1.00

00:02:44.980 what is considered female empowerment, we have really lost our way.

00:02:48.800 Female empowerment is not about presenting ourselves as sex objects and being a slave to 1.00

00:02:53.400 our lusts and appetites.

00:02:55.160 It's about so much more than that.

00:02:57.200 It's about living your life with values, having a meaning, having purpose, being part

00:03:02.080 of a community, having faith, being part of a family.

00:03:05.000 All of those things give women value. 1.00

00:03:07.800 Not so much that video.

00:03:10.260 So I'm not going to tell you to go look it up but if you already know what it is I'd like

00:03:15.500 to hear your thoughts on it too.

00:03:16.760 Please leave it in the comments below.

00:03:18.460 Next up I want to talk about summertime and some of my favorite summer activities.

00:03:23.000 So the last month or so, Jacob and I have really started to embrace summer.

00:03:27.700 Things have started to open up more in Omaha and we've really just taken advantage of the

00:03:32.500 warm weather and the evenings and oh my gosh, you guys know summer is my absolute favorite

00:03:38.300 season.

00:03:38.840 So I have been so excited to absolutely take advantage of the rest of summer and we've

00:03:43.920 been doing a few different things that have just made it feel like summer vacation which

00:03:48.440 I love.

00:03:49.420 So the first thing we've been doing is going to the zoo.

00:03:53.400 So Jacob and I absolutely love the zoo.

00:03:56.080 For some reason this is something we didn't know when we met but then when we got married

00:04:00.020 we started going to zoos together and realized that both of us love the zoo so much.

00:04:04.700 Like it's one of our favorite dates and here in Omaha they do an event called Late Nights

00:04:09.280 at the Zoo where you can go, they'll give you a little drink ticket and they have food

00:04:14.480 trucks and also you can go and see all the animals and it is just so much fun.

00:04:19.420 We have the best time.

00:04:21.460 I am a happy camper because it is hot in the evenings here which means I don't have to bring

00:04:25.400 a jacket with me which is my favorite.

00:04:27.300 I love not wearing a jacket in the evenings.

00:04:29.460 It's just that is summer to me.

00:04:31.880 That is the definition of summer.

00:04:33.400 And we actually got to see a whole section of the zoo that we hadn't had an opportunity

00:04:37.080 to see yet and it's just so fun.

00:04:39.900 You're outside.

00:04:41.200 You're seeing all of these animals that are just incredible to look at and I just love it.

00:04:46.480 So if you have a zoo in your area let me know, is it a zoo that you enjoy going to?

00:04:51.100 Does it have fun events like our zoo has?

00:04:53.840 And also do you like going to the zoo?

00:04:55.880 I love the zoo so I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts on that.

00:04:58.680 Leave it in the comments.

00:04:59.800 And of course the other thing that we've been doing now that things have started to open

00:05:02.800 up more is go to the pool.

00:05:04.520 Oh my gosh I love the pool.

00:05:08.140 Jacob and I also love going to the pool together.

00:05:10.760 It is so much fun.

00:05:12.080 I actually kind of like public pools because it's so fun to see kids having a great time

00:05:16.400 in the summer.

00:05:17.400 It always makes me think of the sand lot and you just get to see families having fun together

00:05:22.040 and it's just the epitome of summertime is going to the pool, sitting outside, then dunking

00:05:27.500 in the water when it gets too hot and reading and all of that and I have just loved it.

00:05:32.980 So I have been talking a lot on my channel lately about beachwear and swimwear and modesty

00:05:38.460 so I've been trying to take advantage of this opportunity now that the pool is open to wear

00:05:42.940 some of my one pieces and I've been loving it.

00:05:46.640 So if you have a pool, let me know, are you a pool person?

00:05:49.800 Do you love going swimming?

00:05:51.020 I'm not a strong swimmer, I would say I'm like a weak-ish swimmer.

00:05:54.540 I can swim, I'm just not great at it, but I love swimming.

00:05:57.960 So if you're somebody who also loves going to the pool or if you have to choose the pool,

00:06:02.940 or the beach, which would you choose?

00:06:06.020 I don't know which I would choose.

00:06:08.200 Maybe the pool because I like the cleanliness of the pool a little bit more than the beach

00:06:12.820 and I like that you can sit outside and not get sand in every corner of you.

00:06:17.860 So I think I enjoy the pool more, but I'm not going to turn away the beach.

00:06:22.540 I mean, if I can go to the beach, I'll go to the beach.

00:06:24.880 So it's not like it's a problem, but I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts on that too.

00:06:29.980 Next up, I wanted to talk about a couple of things that I learned this week.

00:06:32.980 So I ran out to Target the other day to run some errands and I just had this feeling that

00:06:37.560 I really wanted to buy a magazine.

00:06:39.860 And I feel like magazines are really outdated and passe, but I personally love magazines

00:06:45.760 and I really don't let myself splurge on them, even though they're not very expensive.

00:06:49.200 But I was thinking to myself, you know what?

00:06:51.640 The experience of reading a magazine is kind of a special one.

00:06:54.680 It's a fun thing.

00:06:55.980 You get to read something that's not like heavy material, but it's still reading.

00:06:59.800 It's not on your phone.

00:07:01.500 And it just makes you feel spoiled for $5.

00:07:05.200 And that kind of made me realize that it's okay sometimes to make little splurges on something

00:07:10.240 that's going to make you happy.

00:07:12.340 If it's a $5 magazine that's just going to put you in a nice frame of mind that you can

00:07:16.920 read and it makes you feel like you're doing something slightly more productive than being

00:07:20.660 on your phone but maybe isn't as serious as reading a book, then why not actually just

00:07:25.800 do it?

00:07:26.800 Magazines I think are really classic a lot of the time.

00:07:29.100 I read good housekeeping and country living.

00:07:32.000 I used to read more of the fashion magazines, but I'm going to be honest, a lot of them have

00:07:35.900 really leftist articles and so many of their fashion advice articles are not modest enough

00:07:41.940 for me.

00:07:42.940 So I really can't find inspiration in them as much as I used to.

00:07:46.780 And so I don't really have the best time reading fashion magazines.

00:07:50.100 So reading the home magazines that also generally have some beauty and fashion things in them,

00:07:54.840 but that are a little bit more on the modest side because I think they're probably for women 0.64

00:07:57.640 who are a bit older, I actually really enjoy it and it just makes me really happy.

00:08:02.280 So if you have something like that, if you want to read a magazine and it's only $5,

00:08:06.860 maybe if you have it in your budget, say, it's okay.

00:08:10.020 I can spend that $5 even though it's not something I'm going to keep forever.

00:08:13.500 I can spend it on this small thing for the experience and that's okay.

00:08:17.800 And that was just a nice lesson for me to learn this week.

00:08:19.900 Another thing I was thinking about this week was that I had a great phone call with a

00:08:24.140 girlfriend of mine.

00:08:24.640 She actually reached out to me and asked if we could just have a phone call and chat.

00:08:29.640 And she is not really conservative, but she is a really deep thinker and she and I had

00:08:36.580 the best conversation and I had the best time on the phone with her.

00:08:41.060 We were on the phone for two hours and it really wasn't supposed to be a two-hour call,

00:08:45.300 but it just ended up being a two-hour call and we had the best conversation.

00:08:49.800 And it's so nice when you can have those really fruitful conversations that give you

00:08:54.800 kind of a perspective on things that you didn't necessarily have before, especially when you

00:08:58.720 guys do have different viewpoints and perspectives.

00:09:01.020 That respect is going to make those conversations so nice and useful and I am so glad I did that.

00:09:07.020 So that's why I'm constantly saying on my channel, it's not that we can't talk to people who

00:09:11.760 are on the other side of the aisle.

00:09:13.160 We all just need to be respectful towards each other so that we can see if there's any middle

00:09:18.640 ground and maybe we can change each other's minds for the better.

00:09:21.940 So that was just a really good reminder this week and I'm so glad that we had that call.

00:09:26.520 Next up, let's talk about what I've been reading and watching.

00:09:29.520 So what I have been reading lately is The Splendid and the Vile by Eric Larson.

00:09:34.280 So Eric Larson is one of my absolute favorite authors.

00:09:36.820 He wrote The Devil in the White City, which I loved that book.

00:09:40.820 It was so, so good.

00:09:41.960 And he also wrote a few other books, one about the Marconi Telegraph.

00:09:45.660 One is called In the Garden of Beasts, I think, and I just really like his writing because

00:09:50.460 what he does is he writes history as if it were fiction.

00:09:54.400 And it's not that he's saying anything that's untrue.

00:09:56.220 It's all historical.

00:09:57.460 But he's just such a good writer that it really does feel like you're reading a novel.

00:10:02.360 He uses letters and transcripts to make it seem like there's dialogue almost, which makes

00:10:08.280 history so much easier to read, at least for me.

00:10:11.220 And so this book is about Churchill during World War II and it's fascinating.

00:10:15.480 I am loving it.

00:10:17.360 The first chapter or two was a little bit hard for me to get into, but now I'm really, really

00:10:22.860 enjoying it.

00:10:23.860 I'm learning all about really what happened at the beginning of the war and how Churchill

00:10:29.440 dealt with it.

00:10:30.440 He is an incredible man and he worked so hard to protect his country.

00:10:35.800 He was a servant to his country and it is amazing to read.

00:10:39.920 So I cannot wait to keep reading it.

00:10:42.000 If you've read Eric Larson, any of his books, let me know in the comments because I love talking

00:10:47.000 about his writing.

00:10:48.080 It is my favorite, so leave it in the comments.

00:10:51.560 And then as far as what I've been watching, Jacob really likes action movies and sci-fi,

00:10:56.600 so he has been choosing some of the movies we've been watching lately.

00:10:59.660 So we've been watching both The Terminators, Terminator 1 and Terminator 2, and we watched

00:11:04.620 The Matrix.

00:11:06.420 And I have a lot of thoughts.

00:11:07.500 I think we might do a movie review on The Matrix because we disagree about that film.

00:11:15.240 I won't give away which one of us likes it and which one of us doesn't, but we did have

00:11:19.220 a lot of thoughts on it.

00:11:20.420 He has seen it before, I had not.

00:11:22.640 So it was just an interesting situation to discuss it and see what we both thought of

00:11:27.060 it.

00:11:28.060 But I will tell you a little bit about the Terminator movies.

00:11:30.400 So the first Terminator is actually a really good movie and the trivia on it is so interesting.

00:11:35.940 Like, there was no budget.

00:11:37.700 The whole thing came out of a dream that James Cameron had about this kind of metal skeleton

00:11:42.940 that came to him in a dream.

00:11:45.100 And so he built the entire story around that dream, which is crazy to think about.

00:11:49.360 But the first movie is really good.

00:11:51.000 There is one sex scene, so that's my one warning.

00:11:53.620 I'm not super disturbed by the violence in that film, but I know that some people are

00:11:57.540 more sensitive to that than others, so I was not super bothered by it.

00:12:01.140 But if you are sensitive to violence, of course, be careful.

00:12:03.720 Don't watch something that would upset you.

00:12:05.440 But I thought it was a great action movie.

00:12:07.840 Really well done.

00:12:08.780 And Terminator 2 was just as good.

00:12:11.620 Really really great.

00:12:12.620 I don't think that the premise is that deep, but I really like it as an action movie.

00:12:17.260 I like how they dealt with it.

00:12:19.160 I like the premise and the concept.

00:12:21.080 And the fact of the matter is the performances that everyone puts in are really really good.

00:12:25.140 So if you're into action movies, if you have a boyfriend or a husband who wants to

00:12:29.140 watch an action movie and you're interested in action movies too, then I would recommend

00:12:33.440 watching Terminator 1 and 2, I've heard the rest of the Terminators are a little bit crazy

00:12:37.840 and just start messing with the timeline, which is not my favorite thing, but the first two

00:12:42.780 are very, very good.

00:12:43.620 So if you've seen those, let me know in the comments.

00:12:45.960 I'd love to discuss that with you and see your guys' thoughts too, because I love hearing

00:12:49.780 what you guys think of these things.

00:12:51.000 It's so much fun.

00:12:52.260 And the last thing that I wanted to say is that my husband bought me this gorgeous necklace.

00:12:57.240 So let me explain.

00:12:58.980 I have talked about that star choker that I bought on Amazon quite a bit on my channel,

00:13:03.420 and I wore that choker and basically ruined it because I wore it into water way too many

00:13:07.440 times.

00:13:08.440 And I told my husband that I was sad that I had to throw that choker away because I really,

00:13:13.560 really liked it.

00:13:14.640 So he bought me a more expensive version of that necklace to celebrate me hitting 50,000

00:13:21.260 subscribers here on YouTube.

00:13:22.480 So it was really, really sweet of him, and I absolutely love it, and I can't wait to

00:13:25.880 wear it for the rest of the summer, let alone forever.

00:13:29.840 And I just also really wanted to thank you guys for 50,000 subscribers here on my channel.

00:13:35.120 I love that we are creating a community for conservative women.

00:13:38.540 It means so much to me, and I'm just so excited that we're really creating the Classic Crew
