00:00:00.000 To God be the glory, and since we have already spoken somewhat pastorally about the assassination
00:00:15.020 of Charlie Kirk, I do want to consider some of the broader matters that have been made
00:00:24.520 clear over the last several days that I believe the church must understand and the pulpit
00:00:32.100 ought to address.
00:00:33.980 Today's text is going to be in Isaiah chapter 1, it's verses 21 through 28, it is God's
00:00:42.340 rebuke to the city of Jerusalem for tolerating wickedness and corruption.
00:00:48.400 It is about her judgment and also about her restoration.
00:00:51.680 It says in verse 21 of chapter 1 0.91
00:00:57.420 How the faithful city has become a whore
00:01:02.800 It was full of justice, righteousness lodged in it 1.00
00:01:07.800 But now murderers
00:01:09.640 Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water
00:01:13.840 Your princes are rebellious 0.98
00:01:16.700 And companions of thieves 0.89
00:01:20.660 Everyone loves bribes and follows after rewards.
00:01:24.080 They do not defend the fatherless, nor do they do the cause of the widow come before them.
00:01:32.460 Therefore, the Lord says, the Lord of hosts, the mighty one of Israel,
00:01:36.560 Ah, I will rid myself of my adversaries and take vengeance on my enemies. 0.57
00:01:41.560 I will turn my hand against you and thoroughly purge away your dross and take away all of your alloy.
00:01:49.680 I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors at the beginning.
00:01:58.040 Afterward, you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.
00:02:03.500 Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her repentance with righteousness.
00:02:08.000 The destruction of the transgressors and of sinners shall be together,
00:02:12.900 and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
00:02:15.980 so today's sermon is not going to be expositional it'll be derivational meaning that i am going to
00:02:24.200 derive the principles of this text and use them and apply them to our current circumstance
00:02:31.740 this passage if you notice can be broken into four sections
00:02:35.560 number one is the faithful city number two is the degenerate city number three is a judged city
00:02:47.620 and number four is a restored city this week I came across an image of a child standing in a park
00:02:58.640 in New York, probably around the year 1995. Looks similar to my age in 1995.
00:03:07.340 In the background was the Twin Towers, and the text on this image says,
00:03:14.800 the world you were born into no longer exists. I think that's correct. Places change, cities change,
00:03:24.420 Nations change. And I believe that's why Christians, American Christians, can relate to this passage of Scripture.
00:03:35.540 How the faithful nation has become a whore. 0.99
00:03:40.980 How righteousness was once lodged in it, but now murderers. 1.00
00:03:44.780 Christians once saturated this nation 1.00
00:03:51.080 according to Gordon-Conwell University
00:03:54.740 in the year 1900
00:03:56.660 97% of the population of America
00:04:00.960 was Christian
00:04:01.920 97%
00:04:04.920 in 1950 that dropped to 92%
00:04:09.440 today it's 62 percent 62 percent over the last 125 years america has descended into what i would
00:04:24.880 call shocking degeneracy we have gone from wholesome families to broken homes we have gone
00:04:33.460 from covenant marriage to broken families and divorce.
00:04:37.160 We have gone from purity to pornography, from 0.67
00:04:41.200 patriarchy to matriarchy. We've gone from cherishing
00:04:45.220 children to slaughtering them. We've gone from a Christian nation 1.00
00:04:49.080 to a pagan wasteland. What our fathers 1.00
00:04:53.360 built in faith, we have traded for all
00:04:57.380 types of filth.
00:04:58.460 And last week, the murders of Irina and Charlie have revealed the cost.
00:05:14.240 Visually, the videos were both painful to watch.
00:05:20.960 We are no longer that faithful nation that we were a century ago.
00:05:28.460 Now, you might say, but Dale, we are faithful. 1.00
00:05:31.960 We're just locked in this land and stuck in this nation filled with all these unbelievers. 1.00
00:05:41.080 I think that's the wrong way to think about this, and here's why. 1.00
00:05:45.960 Christians carry the responsibility of what is called multi-generational faithfulness.
00:05:51.180 ephesians addresses fathers saying fathers raise your children in the nurture and admonition of
00:06:00.460 the lord malachi 2 15 says and this is speaking to marriage did he not make them one with a
00:06:08.580 portion of his spirit in their union and what was god seeking godly offspring
00:06:17.580 So guard yourselves in the spirit and let none of you be faithful or faithless with the wife of your youth. 0.85
00:06:27.200 So when the Christian population goes from 97% to 62% in just two generations, two generations. 0.99
00:06:38.280 especially in a city or a place or a nation
00:06:44.120 in which we have a democratic republic
00:06:46.100 in which we vote in our own representatives
00:06:48.500 there is no one else to blame for this shift
00:06:54.520 except the church
00:06:56.600 except the church
00:06:58.780 it is our unfaithfulness that has brought us to this point
00:07:04.020 it is the church's unfaithfulness 0.71
00:07:05.760 do you understand that the culture follows the church
00:07:09.060 Do you understand that the church follows the pulpit?
00:07:12.720 Do you understand that the pulpit follows the pastor? 0.85
00:07:17.740 The church teaches the culture what is right and wrong.
00:07:23.840 We are the beacon.
00:07:25.320 We are the light.
00:07:26.560 We are the salt.
00:07:28.320 We are those that restrain evil and promote that which is good.
00:07:32.480 We were a nation of 97% Christians, and now we are not.
00:07:36.560 there is no one to blame except the unfaithfulness
00:07:40.320 of the church. Our text says in verse 22
00:07:44.480 your silver has become dross. Your wine mixed
00:07:48.520 with water. Do you understand what that means?
00:07:53.000 We have been diluted. We have been
00:07:56.380 diluted. Your princes are rebellious
00:08:00.380 and companions of thieves. 0.97
00:08:04.300 Everyone loves bribes and follows their own hearts.
00:08:09.120 They do not defend the fatherless, nor do they care of the cause of the widow.
00:08:15.560 Henry Van Til once said,
00:08:18.720 Religion, or culture, is religion externalized.
00:08:24.520 Pay attention here. Culture is religion externalized. 0.89
00:08:29.440 In other words, culture, the culture that we have in America,
00:08:34.160 The culture that we're living in right now.
00:08:37.080 The culture that stabs innocent women on trains and then watches her die without anybody helping her. 0.96
00:08:46.460 The culture that shoots up schools and churches and assassinates Christians. 0.95
00:08:51.220 That culture is the result of a religion. 0.79
00:08:55.980 It is a religion that is in our land.
00:09:03.600 We all know that we are religious beings.
00:09:05.580 In fact, there is not one person on earth who is not religious.
00:09:09.040 It is not whether we will worship.
00:09:10.960 It is what we will worship.
00:09:13.500 We are religious.
00:09:15.380 The secularist, he's a religious person.
00:09:18.360 The atheists are religious.
00:09:19.880 Liberals are religious.
00:09:21.340 There is no such thing as a non-religious person.
00:09:24.560 We are spiritual beings with a desire for the spiritual world.
00:09:27.880 And here lies our national shame
00:09:33.680 We were a Christian nation
00:09:37.000 We were a faithful city
00:09:40.400 And we have been overtaken 1.00
00:09:43.140 By other religions 1.00
00:09:45.040 Not only have we permitted these false and demonic religions to take root among us 1.00
00:09:51.220 But we have coddled them 1.00
00:09:52.600 We have silenced ourselves for them
00:09:57.860 we have given them safe harbor
00:10:01.660 religious liberty
00:10:03.020 you think Jesus was for the freedom of religion 1.00
00:10:07.900 oh yeah you're free to go worship demons
00:10:11.060 even though the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God
00:10:14.240 with all your heart with all your soul with all your strength
00:10:15.820 religious liberty
00:10:21.180 is you are free to worship Christ
00:10:25.180 as you please. It is not you are free to worship
00:10:29.380 any false god and demon that you please.
00:10:34.160 What our fathers would have crushed, we have tolerated.
00:10:38.640 What our fathers would have crushed, we have
00:10:41.580 tolerated. In April of 1775, the Revolutionary 0.79
00:10:45.540 War erupted over a 1-2% tax increase.
00:10:50.820 A 1-2% tax increase
00:10:53.360 caused that war.
00:10:57.100 The Civil War broke out over slavery and states' rights.
00:11:02.080 And yet, in our generation, we remain silent
00:11:04.720 in the face of far greater evils.
00:11:08.840 Far greater evils. 0.99
00:11:11.760 We have bowed to legalized homosexuality and abortion. 1.00
00:11:17.940 We have ignored the man in the dress 1.00
00:11:20.240 that walks among us. 0.96
00:11:23.360 We've even placed these psychopaths in political power. 1.00
00:11:29.180 We've allowed the transing and the mutilating of our American children. 1.00
00:11:34.380 We have let our daughters become digital harlots. 1.00
00:11:37.500 Our boys become gamers and lazy fools, cowards. 1.00
00:11:44.860 But what makes all of this worse 1.00
00:11:46.680 is that we have disguised all of this
00:11:52.760 as patience, as compassion.
00:11:59.280 And I believe in doing so, we have become complicit.
00:12:03.560 Now, I know that many in our congregation may not feel
00:12:06.560 that they are falling to many of these convictions,
00:12:09.860 but I'm speaking to our country.
00:12:12.320 I'm speaking to the country in which our church lives.
00:12:16.020 I'm speaking to this city
00:12:19.220 to give us a diagnostic understanding of where we stand.
00:12:29.900 This is how nations fall.
00:12:34.380 It's at this place we see in verse 26.
00:12:37.280 God declares, I will turn my hand against you.
00:12:42.820 How does he do that?
00:12:44.660 How does God turn his hand against a nation?
00:12:49.220 How does the once faithful city experience God's hand of judgment?
00:12:56.020 Well, it should be familiar to us because we've all lived through it.
00:13:00.720 He shakes the nations with calamities.
00:13:04.620 He shakes that nation with calamities.
00:13:08.440 He places them under the rule of wicked rulers.
00:13:11.840 He permits tragedies and famines and wars and immorality.
00:13:17.460 he does this until the people feel the weight of their sin and the rod of his discipline and repent
00:13:27.160 and i know i know it can seem as though we have had such a great reprieve
00:13:34.060 in this recent presidential election maybe it is a turning and maybe it is
00:13:39.200 but that does not mean that America does not still have a long way to go
00:13:49.320 what sins have we committed to bring such a judgment upon us
00:13:55.320 I think it's important to understand what got us here so that we might not repeat them
00:14:03.280 and I think we could summarize them into four major categories
00:14:07.060 i'm going to give them to you now number one we have ordained the wrong men
00:14:15.140 we have ordained the wrong men to the pastorate congregations rarely rise above their pastors
00:14:22.580 that's a fact on the one hand many pulpits have been filled with these excellent communicators
00:14:29.420 the problem is that they traded courage for comfort they are people pleasing donor pleasing
00:14:36.720 giving pleasing, controversy avoiding compromisers that are more concerned with financial security
00:14:42.640 and popularity than they are with preaching the truth.
00:14:46.480 Those people exist, and they exist not only in our nation, but also in our city.
00:14:54.260 These men have diluted doctrine to accommodate the visitor.
00:15:00.040 We have turned the church into a place of evangelism rather than the strengthening of the flock.
00:15:06.720 They have feared women, and they have perverted compassion, and they have been painfully quiet in the face of a variety of cultural events.
00:15:20.720 On the other hand, we have ordained intellectuals, PhDs, and master's degrees who love doctrine and scholastics, but they are out of touch with the pastoral reality, and they have no spine.
00:15:36.720 They have confused a love of knowledge with a call to be a shepherd.
00:15:44.820 Both are errors. 1.00
00:15:47.000 Number two, we have cultivated an effeminate form of Christianity. 1.00
00:15:53.520 We've cultivated it. 1.00
00:15:56.160 We've actually nurtured it.
00:16:00.120 In the 1700s, the Enlightenment occurred.
00:16:04.960 The Enlightenment taught, if I can't rationalize it, it can't be true.
00:16:12.840 In the 1800s and early 1900s, we had the piety movement.
00:16:19.300 This was heavily driven by the early feminist movement.
00:16:23.320 But the piety movement declared, if I can't feel it, it isn't true.
00:16:30.400 So rationalization was, if I can't rationalize it, it's not true.
00:16:35.140 Piety is, if I can't feel it, it's not true.
00:16:41.060 This gave rise to what we call experiential Christianity.
00:16:47.080 Where spiritual maturity is measured by what?
00:16:51.560 Emotion.
00:16:53.700 And as you know, who is more inclined to succeed in emotion? 1.00
00:16:59.960 Women. 1.00
00:17:02.420 It was in this climate that we invented phrases like, 1.00
00:17:06.800 it's not a religion, it's a relationship.
00:17:12.060 It's in this climate where we began love song style worship music,
00:17:17.100 where we sway our hips to Jesus.
00:17:22.940 It's in this climate that we had the start of endless altar calls
00:17:28.340 and baptisms and re-baptisms because the first time didn't feel right.
00:17:36.220 All of this institutionalization of emotion made men feel increasingly out of step with the church.
00:17:47.200 And the result was what?
00:17:50.380 Statistically, a mass exodus of men from the church.
00:17:54.200 and when men leave
00:17:58.680 the church is left defenseless
00:18:02.200 there is no one that is watching over
00:18:05.780 and the men that stayed 0.99
00:18:07.940 in these feminized churches
00:18:11.360 became soft 0.99
00:18:12.800 in the absence of men 0.99
00:18:17.360 women pastors emerged
00:18:19.820 a new phenomenon of the last 50 or 60 years. 1.00
00:18:26.000 The matriarchy rose. 0.99
00:18:28.280 Complementarianism has been birthed. 0.77
00:18:30.600 And the church declined in power and conviction.
00:18:35.240 Number three, we have compartmentalized Christianity
00:18:39.300 because of the rise of dispensationalism in the early 1900s,
00:18:44.980 which taught the church three powerful lies.
00:18:47.740 Number one, to expect the inevitable cultural decline.
00:18:52.740 We don't polish brass on a sinking ship.
00:18:56.500 It's all going to hell in a handbasket.
00:18:58.320 Let's just check out and wait.
00:19:00.300 Number two, the imminent return of Christ and the rapture of the church. 0.85
00:19:06.660 Number three, the victory of the scriptures is reserved for ethnic Israel, not the church. 0.69
00:19:14.680 those three lies shifted christians from working to preserve society through the
00:19:24.020 proclamation of the gospel and the standing of righteousness to waiting for its collapse and
00:19:29.080 their escape in doing so we surrendered our schools our politics our media our architecture
00:19:38.080 our arts, our finance, our economics.
00:19:41.840 The result was a surge of atheism,
00:19:45.320 plummeting birth rates, 0.95
00:19:49.180 an influx of pagan cultures through immigration, 0.90
00:19:52.580 and the slow suicide of the West. 0.96
00:19:57.180 That happened. 0.68
00:20:00.320 Number four.
00:20:03.600 And I'm going to spend most of my time here.
00:20:05.320 we have been shamefully tolerant of evil shamefully tolerant of evil over the last 50 years under the 0.81
00:20:17.300 increasing feminization of the church we have confronted evils with a soft 0.62
00:20:24.340 nurturing approach of empathy and accommodation rather than the masculine approach of confrontation 0.51
00:20:34.940 and correction and uncompromising truth.
00:20:40.640 This has produced what I call a conflict-averse church.
00:20:46.080 A conflict-averse church with many conflict-averse pastors.
00:20:53.160 We have gone from peacemaking to peacekeeping,
00:20:58.860 which there is a wild difference.
00:21:02.800 Peacekeeping avoids, well, I'll say this, peacekeeping tolerates evil to avoid conflict.
00:21:13.140 Peacekeeping tolerates evil to avoid conflict.
00:21:18.040 Peacemaking drives out evil to have real peace.
00:21:24.280 Big difference.
00:21:26.520 Big difference.
00:21:27.920 Let me give you an example.
00:21:28.780 this week i heard multiple republican and even christian senators and media personalities
00:21:35.060 say out loud we need peace and unity in this nation
00:21:43.060 but how can there be peace with those who burn our churches how can there be peace with those
00:21:52.280 who mutilate our children and sodomize our town and assassinate our people how can there be peace
00:21:57.520 our leaders are calling for peacekeeping as if the majority of the left is some
00:22:04.900 kind of largely reasonable peace-seeking group ready for conversations to unite under our very
00:22:13.200 much shared values the problem is this this week the left exposed themselves they expose themselves
00:22:24.540 The assassin was not some lone radical
00:22:29.600 This outlier
00:22:32.840 While the remaining liberals on the left are some
00:22:37.540 They're more moderate
00:22:40.360 Tens of thousands openly mocked Charlie Kirk's murder
00:22:47.120 Some even creating posters of him
00:22:50.280 With a picture and illustration of a bullet hole in his neck
00:22:53.720 freedom shirts were sold on amazon with blood stains on them
00:23:00.080 3d printed figurines with blood pouring out of his neck were made
00:23:04.620 hundreds of thousands of people applauded these posts and videos
00:23:11.200 on social media
00:23:12.740 one post

00:23:30.420 Charlie Kirk's daughter
00:23:32.080 is going to grow up
00:23:33.020 without a father 1.00

00:23:46.820 who will have them
00:23:47.720 properly educated
00:23:48.600 in growing up
00:23:49.220 hating their own parents
00:23:50.300 last night with over 137,000 likes a post said of erica i'm glad she's speaking so everyone can 0.96
00:24:01.220 stop pitying this woman because the because unsurprisingly she's a witch too
00:24:06.820 what we're learning is that it's not the radical left it's just the left
00:24:15.440 we used to dismiss their rhetoric as
00:24:20.940 exaggerated emotion
00:24:23.700 maybe it's some sort of hyperbolic language
00:24:28.380 they can't possibly mean what they say right
00:24:32.180 no
00:24:35.140 they mean every single word
00:24:38.940 G.K. Chesterton once said
00:24:42.280 The modern man will not burn you for holding an opposing opinion.
00:24:48.420 He will merely sneer at you.
00:24:51.520 But if that modern man had lived in an age without law, he would have burned you, and quite cheerfully. 0.96
00:25:00.240 Since most Christians hold the same convictions of Charlie Kirk, 0.99
00:25:03.620 His death exposes this kind of sobering truth 0.97
00:25:08.580 That people are willing to kill you
00:25:13.040 For what you believe 0.98
00:25:14.900 If they're willing to kill Charlie
00:25:17.140 I believe that plus more
00:25:18.940 It's not just one lone assassin
00:25:26.780 It's hundreds of thousands
00:25:28.740 Who would do the same to you
00:25:30.920 And laugh at your death
00:25:32.780 if it weren't restrained by law. 0.98
00:25:41.700 We have two rival cultures in our country right now. 0.99
00:25:45.640 Two rival cultures, or should I say, two rival religions. 0.96
00:25:50.760 Christian and pagan.
00:25:53.900 The question I have for the American church is this.
00:25:58.020 Can light have fellowship with darkness?
00:26:02.780 Can conservatives have fellowship with liberals?
00:26:06.100 Can the left unite with the right?
00:26:11.460 One Christian commentator said this week,
00:26:15.080 How do you fix a country where millions of people on one side want the other side dead?
00:26:22.500 One Christian historian said,
00:26:24.100 When two groups hold opposing core values that violate one another,
00:26:30.620 History shows it never ends in coexistence.
00:26:34.040 It ends in separation or war.
00:26:40.220 Ecclesiastes 3.8 tells us,
00:26:43.760 There is a time to love and a time to hate.
00:26:48.000 A time for war and a time for peace.
00:26:53.520 What time is it?
00:26:54.780 what time is it
00:27:00.180 is it a time for peace as senator katie boyd brit has called for
00:27:06.280 is peace and love possible under our current national circumstances
00:27:13.180 we called for peace they burned our cities we called for peace they tore down our monuments
00:27:23.240 We called for peace, they shot Trump.
00:27:26.620 We called for peace, they burned down our churches.
00:27:29.720 We called for peace, they shot Charlie Kirk.
00:27:37.080 Personally, and I say this with great sorrow,
00:27:40.300 I do not believe it's a time for peace or love.
00:27:47.360 I believe it's a time for righteous hate and holy war.
00:27:52.620 And I want to qualify that statement.
00:27:57.020 Psalm 139, 21-22 says,
00:27:59.600 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?
00:28:03.580 And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
00:28:06.440 I hate them with a complete hatred.
00:28:08.360 I count them as my enemies. 0.84
00:28:11.440 Not a lot of pastors have shared that passage.
00:28:17.760 One man said this week,
00:28:19.160 people deny a time for war because they are afraid
00:28:23.500 they are like a man who in a confrontation
00:28:27.100 thinks maybe if I de-escalate he won't hit me
00:28:30.680 but we have learned over and over again
00:28:34.200 that he does hit and he hits hard
00:28:37.560 if they say
00:28:40.140 that you will have no fight with them 0.99
00:28:44.980 they will feast and they will begin to kill more 0.56
00:28:49.120 and take more, end quote. In other words, peacemaking often comes through conflict.
00:28:58.520 C.J. Engel said this week, most people don't understand the political and social costs of
00:29:02.920 what it requires to restore order in America, end quote. I think he's correct. But as a pastor,
00:29:11.760 I don't need to concern myself with the political and social aspects directly.
00:29:19.260 What I do need to concern myself with is how Christians ought to behave 0.87
00:29:23.060 in what I would call a wartime culture. 1.00
00:29:27.240 A wartime culture.
00:29:31.240 So how do you hate without sin?
00:29:35.440 How do you war without breaking God's law?
00:29:38.020 What can you do beyond what you're doing?
00:29:44.360 That's the question across social media today.
00:29:49.140 And that's what I want to conclude this sermon with.
00:29:52.780 Why?
00:29:55.220 Because for the judged nation to become the restored nation, these things must be done.
00:30:02.840 now i want to preface this section with ephesians 4 26 it says be angry and do not sin
00:30:09.880 be angry and do not sin what a very difficult passage of scripture for us over the next several
00:30:17.920 years i'm going to give seven things that we can do
00:30:22.320 and i hope that it's helpful number one
00:30:27.600 Now, proclaim damnation in your gospel.
00:30:34.040 The word of God is our primary weapon.
00:30:38.080 Hebrew says that it's sharper than any two-edged sword.
00:30:41.600 Jeremiah 23, 29 says,
00:30:43.800 Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord,
00:30:46.960 and like a hammer that breaks rock into pieces? 0.98
00:30:52.300 Unfortunately, most Christians don't use the word of God 0.77
00:30:54.340 because they don't know the word of God. 1.00
00:30:57.600 instead they present some sort of impotent caricature
00:31:02.100 of their evangelism that they learned at church camp
00:31:05.280 or some mega churchianity situation that they've got
00:31:07.760 altar call Christianity
00:31:09.880 from here out when you proclaim the gospel 1.00
00:31:12.800 this is what you must do
00:31:13.960 proclaim it like Christ
00:31:16.340 proclaim it like the apostles
00:31:18.660 tell people of their sin
00:31:20.880 tell people of God's wrath
00:31:22.660 talk to people about hell 0.72
00:31:24.300 tell people about the cross
00:31:27.940 you have to remember
00:31:31.740 if the gospel doesn't produce repentance
00:31:33.360 it's not the gospel
00:31:34.340 you can't need a savior
00:31:38.280 if you don't understand sin
00:31:39.600 Jesus says in Luke 13 3
00:31:43.040 now I tell you
00:31:44.020 but unless you repent
00:31:45.120 you will all likewise perish
00:31:47.100 when was the last time
00:31:51.900 you said that to anyone
00:31:52.800 Unless you repent, you will perish
00:31:58.240 Try that
00:32:02.020 Number two 1.00
00:32:04.540 Radical households filled with children 1.00
00:32:10.260 Nominal Christianity is what killed America 1.00
00:32:15.000 Fathers stopped leading, they stopped catechizing their kids 0.92
00:32:19.400 stopped giving their children a distinctly Christian education.
00:32:25.300 Family size collapsed.
00:32:28.000 Went from an average family in 1950 of four kids
00:32:30.320 to less than two kids in 2010.
00:32:37.480 Pew Research warns that by 2060,
00:32:39.860 Muslims will match the Christian population. 0.96
00:32:45.320 In the West, by the way. 0.98
00:32:50.380 For the next 50 years, we need millions of Christians to have or adopt babies. 0.97
00:32:58.280 Four of them, ideally, because two just replaces you. 0.97
00:33:02.480 Four doubles you. 0.99
00:33:05.500 This is essential to replacing the West. 0.99
00:33:09.120 Number three, wartime churches with wartime shepherds. 0.80
00:33:16.180 Too many churches do not know what time it is.
00:33:19.400 When Obergefell legalized gay marriage, their pulpits were silent.
00:33:28.560 When vaccine mandates crushed the livelihoods of their flocks, they offered no defense.
00:33:35.360 When Roe v. Wade was overturned, they didn't even say praise the Lord.
00:33:42.320 These churches exist.
00:33:43.960 Wartime congregants
00:33:49.680 Cannot survive
00:33:51.400 Under peacetime shepherds
00:33:53.300 It only produces conflict and confusion 0.96
00:33:57.540 This is why men leave the church by the way
00:34:00.680 They have wartime passion 0.88
00:34:02.920 And a vanilla pastor
00:34:04.800 Right now the church 0.99
00:34:10.740 Needs wartime pastors
00:34:13.360 who preach with courage, with clarity, with conviction.
00:34:17.600 I'm not talking about newspaper Christianity.
00:34:21.900 I'm talking about biblical, historic, potent Christianity.
00:34:28.260 The peacetime shepherds, they come in later.
00:34:32.020 Doug Wilson once wrote,
00:34:33.600 Desperate times call for faithful men and not for careful men.
00:34:38.420 The careful men come later,
00:34:40.220 and they write the biographies of the faithful men,
00:34:42.860 Lauding them for their courage.
00:34:45.420 We don't need careful men right now.
00:34:49.060 We need faithful men. 0.99
00:34:51.980 Ultimately, Christians have to start or stop settling for weak, vanilla churches. 1.00
00:35:04.380 if we're willing to relocate 0.91
00:35:09.420 for a career
00:35:10.400 why are we not willing to relocate
00:35:13.080 for a church
00:35:13.700 I'll tell you what
00:35:17.760 a good and godly church
00:35:19.900 will impact your family
00:35:22.380 far more
00:35:24.400 in the right ways
00:35:26.580 than a good job
00:35:28.020 take any job
00:35:31.800 and have an excellent church
00:35:33.260 Number four
00:35:39.060 Establish Christian schools
00:35:42.600 A wise man once said 0.98
00:35:45.020 If you plan for one year, grow rice
00:35:47.300 If you plan for ten years, plant trees 0.99
00:35:50.800 If you plan for centuries, grow men 0.98
00:35:53.580 One of the greatest failures today
00:35:57.860 Is the cultural decay 1.00
00:36:01.100 that happened because boomers, Gen Xers, and millennials
00:36:05.600 were not given a distinctly Christian education.
00:36:10.300 We were taught facts, not a worldview.
00:36:12.900 We had academics, not worship. 0.99
00:36:16.840 There is a direct correlation between the lack of Christian education
00:36:20.720 and the state of the West. 0.95
00:36:24.540 If you want to reclaim America, 0.77
00:36:26.960 we have to establish with priority 1.00
00:36:30.360 Christian schools.
00:36:33.660 It's not a side project.
00:36:35.420 It is part of the main project.
00:36:37.880 And it's why we here at Kingsway are starting Kingsway Academy.
00:36:40.620 It is absolutely essential.
00:36:43.920 Number five. 1.00
00:36:46.200 Christian boroughs.
00:36:49.700 We need to move beyond individual churches to building distinctly Christian towns.
00:36:56.500 Christian towns.
00:36:57.820 This means we need to get Christ and take him into every sphere of life.
00:37:06.940 Business and economics, civics and arts, media.
00:37:13.820 We also have to earn a few things.
00:37:18.040 We have to earn power.
00:37:20.320 We have to earn ownership, influence.
00:37:24.320 we cannot win a town if you don't own any of it or don't have any power over any of it 1.00
00:37:31.380 that's just a fact and it's interesting because the muslims get that 0.88
00:37:35.560 the mormons get that christians you need to get that
00:37:39.800 power in the right hands is wonderful power in the wrong hands is not
00:37:48.760 scripture says when the wicked rule the people groan
00:37:53.040 but when the righteous rule the people rejoice
00:37:56.340 get into politics
00:37:59.000 get into politics
00:38:02.560 number six
00:38:06.760 embrace Christian nationalism
00:38:09.760 Jesus commands us to disciple the nations
00:38:13.640 he teaches us that
00:38:15.340 everybody. We're to teach everybody
00:38:19.680 to command all that he has said. I always find it interesting
00:38:23.720 that the Bible says that we are to
00:38:27.780 expect a global Christocracy. If that's the
00:38:31.740 case, why are we afraid of a national Christocracy?
00:38:36.580 It makes no sense. One of the 0.72
00:38:39.640 greatest ways to love your neighbor is to make sure that your town
00:38:43.360 and your nation is Christian. 1.00
00:38:45.860 In fact, one of the greatest ways to hate your neighbor 1.00
00:38:47.540 is to make sure that you place them
00:38:50.060 under the rule of wicked rulers who hate God.
00:38:55.340 No Christian should feel ashamed 0.84
00:38:57.140 for desiring their nation to be Christian 0.98
00:38:59.440 or their town to be Christian. 0.89
00:39:03.400 Especially when this nation, 0.99
00:39:05.600 from its founding, was Christian. 0.56
00:39:09.320 The world is going to try to smear the name of that label 0.82
00:39:13.740 Oh, Christian nationalists. 0.99
00:39:15.420 You must be a white supremacist. 1.00
00:39:17.540 You must be a Nazi. 1.00
00:39:20.200 No.
00:39:22.740 Christian nationalism does not mean America cannot be multiracial.
00:39:27.260 But it does mean that it cannot be multicultural. 1.00
00:39:31.100 We don't want this multicultural garbage any longer. 1.00
00:39:35.220 You know, we want a Christian culture. 1.00
00:39:37.620 One culture under God. 0.62
00:39:40.000 One religion under God. 0.90
00:39:41.820 Now, I do think historically that nations thrive the most when there's ethnic alignment. 0.79
00:39:51.280 Historically, that's a fact. 0.86
00:39:54.800 But I still believe that nations can thrive with a variety of skin colors that all bow to Christ. 1.00
00:40:01.200 What we can't thrive with is a variety of gods. 0.99
00:40:04.540 And number seven, holy aggression and assertiveness.
00:40:15.480 This week I saw someone say, we have been at war for a long time now, but sadly only one side has been fighting.
00:40:23.420 And it's not us. 0.96
00:40:27.420 Quiet Christianity has to end. 0.79
00:40:29.740 if christ has your heart he asked to also have your tongue
00:40:35.500 the leftists fight loudly because they have nothing to lose 0.99
00:40:42.120 they're losers they're not married they have no kids they don't own any businesses 0.99
00:40:48.200 they can go wild and go to jail because they have nothing to lose 1.00
00:40:51.860 you know why christians have been silent because we have a lot to lose
00:40:55.120 going to jail is a big deal for a guy like me
00:40:59.240 somebody is going to have to make a sacrifice
00:41:04.060 now I'm not saying
00:41:07.080 to go out and do something illegal
00:41:09.760 I'm saying go out and do something righteous
00:41:12.940 that unfortunately under our current system of law
00:41:15.580 may put you in jail
00:41:16.740 recently
00:41:20.980 I heard that people were
00:41:23.080 going to jail
00:41:25.000 for burning rainbow flags 0.67
00:41:26.940 and not going to jail
00:41:29.380 for burning American flags.
00:41:33.860 There are certain states
00:41:35.280 that if your child thinks he's a boy
00:41:38.060 and you tell him he's not
00:41:41.520 because it's a girl,
00:41:43.700 they're going to send CPS to your door. 0.61
00:41:55.000 Christians stay silent because they fear losing their jobs. 0.90
00:41:58.780 They use that person's pronouns because they're afraid to lose their paycheck. 0.99
00:42:04.600 But either we pay the cost or we just have our children do it in 10 years.
00:42:08.580 You're just kicking that can down the road.
00:42:13.640 You might get fired.
00:42:15.160 You might get canceled.
00:42:18.060 You might be hated. 0.77
00:42:21.820 Welcome to church history.
00:42:25.000 We have to be willing to confront wickedness openly. 0.99
00:42:30.360 Tell that man wearing woman's clothes that it's not okay. 0.99
00:42:35.000 Seriously.
00:42:36.660 Do it in a loving and kind way. 1.00
00:42:40.360 Call out the homosexual couple for their perversion. 0.96
00:42:43.700 Refuse to use someone's pronouns. 1.00
00:42:45.900 Rebuke the woman who flaunts her body immodestly in front of children. 1.00
00:42:51.300 Ladies wearing bikinis at the kid's splash pad. 1.00
00:42:55.520 Say something. 1.00
00:43:02.900 Show up to the left's events and dismantle their lies.
00:43:06.700 Refuse to have false peace at the dinner table with those members of your family at holidays that actually hate you.
00:43:14.940 What does Jesus say about that?
00:43:16.960 Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth.
00:43:19.780 I have not come to bring peace but a sword.
00:43:21.700 I have come to set a man against his father 0.93
00:43:24.500 and a daughter against her mother 0.71
00:43:25.680 and a daughter-in-law against his mother-in-law
00:43:28.220 her mother-in-law
00:43:30.280 and a person's enemies will be those of his own household 0.97
00:43:33.100 use journalism
00:43:38.880 use investigation
00:43:40.640 use lawful means to uncover their crimes
00:43:43.960 frustrate their plans
00:43:47.900 dismantle their institutions
00:43:49.140 I don't care, do whatever it takes
00:43:51.380 don't sin.
00:43:53.840 Don't sin.
00:43:56.040 Don't break the law.
00:43:58.180 Be righteous.
00:44:02.120 Be firm.
00:44:04.260 Speak the truth
00:44:05.000 in love.
00:44:09.140 The left,
00:44:11.620 the pagans,
00:44:13.000 they must not feel comfortable
00:44:16.740 parading sin in the public square
00:44:19.740 any longer.
00:44:21.380 years ago
00:44:26.100 people would be afraid
00:44:29.420 to act the way that they do in public today
00:44:32.140 the way they dress today
00:44:35.620 what they talk about today
00:44:37.380 it is our job as Christians
00:44:43.900 to restore moral order
00:44:45.980 who else is going to do it
00:44:48.340 do you expect the government to do it
00:44:51.160 in fact we've been silent for so long
00:44:55.960 we are reaping what we have sowed
00:44:58.100 and it's going to be very difficult to turn it around
00:45:00.860 what's the greatest way to turn it around
00:45:04.220 evangelize them
00:45:06.660 share the gospel
00:45:08.920 point number one again
00:45:10.580 share the gospel
00:45:11.820 don't share your testimony
00:45:14.960 don't talk about Jesus
00:45:17.060 don't share a passage of scripture
00:45:18.860 actually share the gospel.
00:45:22.440 If you don't feel equipped to do so,
00:45:24.320 let one of us know
00:45:25.180 and we'll gladly walk you through it,
00:45:27.040 help you, train you.
00:45:29.140 Share the gospel.
00:45:31.120 A great way to love your neighbor
00:45:32.720 is to tell them about Jesus.
00:45:36.380 A great way to love the left
00:45:37.940 is to tell them about Christ.
00:45:43.040 Now in this, are you going to be called mean?
00:45:45.360 Probably.
00:45:47.220 I get called mean a lot.
00:45:49.620 Charles Spurgeon once said,
00:45:51.080 Bold-hearted men are always called mean-spirited by cowards.
00:45:57.280 What time is it?
00:46:00.100 What time is it?
00:46:04.180 I do believe, and I'll close with this,
00:46:07.100 if we are faithful to this for generations,
00:46:10.880 along with the power of the Holy Spirit,
00:46:12.880 through the proclamation of the gospel,
00:46:14.340 by the grace of the church,
00:46:16.220 in this nation,
00:46:17.260 I believe that God, by his mercy, will revive this place.
00:46:24.540 But we can't keep doing what we are doing and expect different results.
00:46:33.080 I'm not saying that as like a blanket statement.
00:46:36.200 I'm saying to you, you can't keep doing what you are doing and expecting different results.
00:46:43.480 You actually have to change.
00:46:45.180 figure out how you're going to change
00:46:48.260 it's going to take
00:46:51.080 not just this congregation
00:46:52.600 but about 10,000 others
00:46:55.080 just like it to take
00:46:56.940 ownership and say oh yeah you know what
00:46:58.740 I'm going to step it up
00:47:01.000 I'm going to step it up
00:47:03.100 and you know what
00:47:07.220 as God restored
00:47:09.020 Jerusalem
00:47:09.500 he may restore us as it says
00:47:13.180 in verse 26
00:47:14.020 I will restore your judges as at the first
00:47:17.480 And your counselors as at the beginning
00:47:19.460 Afterward you shall be called a city of righteousness
00:47:22.320 A faithful city
00:47:23.600 Zion shall be redeemed with justice
00:47:27.100 And her repentant with righteousness 0.99
00:47:28.840 The destruction of the transgressors
00:47:30.960 And of sinners shall be together
00:47:32.860 And those who forsake the Lord 0.85
00:47:34.600 Shall be consumed
00:47:36.240 Amen
00:47:38.160 Amen
00:47:39.020 Let's pray
00:47:40.080 Father we thank you
