Dominion Society of Canada - What a functional immigration system looks like

00:00:00.000 some of the more radical elements the movement might not like to hear this but for generations

00:00:03.600 and immigration did work because we had a pro we had a clear culture we were proud of our history

00:00:09.760 and heritage people were coming in limited numbers for economic opportunities and they were coming

00:00:16.560 in very small numbers and they weren't all sequestered into ghettos and big cities they

00:00:21.200 were coming and they were forced to integrate into our society or else they would be social pariahs

00:00:27.040 right it's not all government policy some of it is so sociocultural right these people would come

00:00:33.520 and they'd be one or one of a few families in a small town less than 20 of the population

00:00:40.320 they're like i can't keep my weird foreign name i gotta adapt to the culture we're going to change

00:00:45.280 our first names we're going to change our last names we're going to adopt new anglicized names

00:00:49.600 we're going to drop our religion we're going to become secular or maybe we're going to convert

00:00:52.640 to christianity we're going to learn the language we're going to speak it right we're not going to

00:00:56.400 going to have accents that means we have to stop speaking foreign languages at home or else we're

00:01:00.820 going to sound weird when we go to school that's what integration looks like people don't like that

00:01:06.060 this offends the boomer leaf lib sensibilities where everyone can has to maintain their culture

00:01:12.680 and homeland no integration means actually accepting loving and uh putting the the local

00:01:19.700 culture ahead of your own foreign culture that you left because it's worse than our society 0.92

00:01:24.360 No! 1.00
