00:00:00.000 This January on Paramount+, it began on the shores of New Jersey.
00:00:04.900 Now, a new pack emerges in the great white north.
00:00:09.240 Canada Shore, new original series, now streaming on Paramount+.
00:00:14.420 Somehow, Ryan Reynolds' projects just keep sucking money out of taxpayers' pockets.
00:00:21.460 Yeah, we floss some talk.
00:00:25.900 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk.
00:00:27.620 I'm Jashti Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.
00:00:34.600 First of all, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent me so many great tips.
00:00:38.860 I really, really appreciate it.
00:00:40.460 Please keep them coming.
00:00:42.400 And also, if you haven't subscribed yet, please do.
00:00:46.040 I see half of the people watching my videos are not subscribed and maybe you've been unsubscribed.
00:00:50.660 That also happens.
00:00:52.360 Anyways, let's just jump right in.
00:00:54.740 Today, Blake Lively's attorneys sent another letter to the judge saying,
00:01:00.540 Hey, we don't believe that the messages they are saying are privileged actually are privileged.
00:01:06.620 Or you can translate it to,
00:01:08.480 Hey, judge, we need some more text messages that we can take out of context and spin in the press.
00:01:13.500 Also, very interesting reporting in Forbes magazine about Deadpool vs. Wolverine and how much money it actually made
00:01:23.880 and how somehow Ryan Reynolds' projects just keep sucking money out of taxpayers' pockets.
00:01:30.700 People magazine is writing this really cute story on Justin Baldoni's family today.
00:01:36.880 I found this thing a little bit weird and I'll explain why.
00:01:40.820 Also, another letter to the judge from all parties basically saying that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfair parties
00:01:47.540 are willing to give Blake Lively some more rope.
00:01:51.660 You've got to hear this.
00:01:52.900 And yesterday, I went to the screening of The Rock's last movie, The Smashing Machine.
00:02:00.020 He is so good in that movie and he was there yesterday.
00:02:04.080 He was interviewed after the screening by Charlize Theron.
00:02:07.340 Apparently, they're really good friends and she was having a laugh.
00:02:11.020 They're really cute and good together.
00:02:12.760 I was kind of planning to go up to him after the screening and ask him about that feud with Ryan Reynolds.
00:02:18.660 But then I chickened out and I was like, OK, it's his night.
00:02:21.460 I'm not going to ask him these things.
00:02:23.080 But anyways, he took so much time to talk to everyone and he was really sweet.
00:02:26.620 And I just wanted to say that he's one of those people, one of those really few people that you meet
00:02:30.360 that are just genuinely so nice.
00:02:34.200 I think he is the number one charismatic person that I've interviewed.
00:02:39.080 And he really deserves all the attention that he's getting from this part.
00:02:42.640 I know the movie hasn't done very well, but I love the conversation, as I said, with Charlize Theron.
00:02:48.420 And she was asking him a question.
00:02:49.760 And he always makes it personal, which is what we want.
00:02:53.700 We don't want to sit there and listen to all the technical stuff that went on behind the scenes
00:02:58.420 when they were making a movie. We want to hear about The Rock's personal experience.
00:03:02.500 And he actually shared that 15 of his friends from his wrestling days have already passed
00:03:09.840 due to substance abuse, which is really scary.
00:03:13.820 And that's also what this movie is about.
00:03:16.440 So a little side note there before we get into all the juicy stuff.
00:03:19.920 So as I said, Blake Lively sent another letter to the judge.
00:03:24.280 There's not one day that she doesn't send a letter to the judge asking him for some favors.
00:03:30.160 So now it's still about the signal messages.
00:03:33.320 But now we moved from the signal messages that don't exist,
00:03:36.760 the ones that were auto-deleted, to the ones that already exist.
00:03:41.380 So then what's left are the messages that are marked as privileged by the wayfair parties.
00:03:47.660 That means that there were conversations between them and their attorney.
00:03:51.580 And the judge agrees that those are privileged conversations and should not be shared with Blake's team.
00:03:56.660 Anyways, now Blake is saying that, hey, not all of those conversations should be privileged
00:04:02.880 because I see there are some chats here where Brian Friedman or any attorney is not on the thread.
00:04:10.520 So we have to see those text messages.
00:04:13.580 Those text messages are most likely strategies like PR strategies.
00:04:17.600 As we know, Justin's team was working really hard trying to defend him against all the negative press that Blake put out there.
00:04:25.460 So that's what I'm guessing these text messages are about.
00:04:29.260 And now Blake wants to see them.
00:04:30.920 And I don't think it's because she thinks there's a smoking gun here.
00:04:34.160 It's because she thinks that some of those text messages probably maybe can be used in the press to spin the narrative in her favor again.
00:04:44.140 So now it's up to the judge again to decide if Blake's team is going to have access to more text messages from Baldoni's team.
00:04:52.040 So, yeah, as you know, for Blake, it's all about those signal messages.
00:04:55.280 That's what she's building this entire case on right now.
00:04:58.860 And especially the ones that were auto deleted.
00:05:01.640 Because just, you know, she's saying all the evidence was in there.
00:05:04.780 And there is another letter to the judge today.
00:05:07.740 This is from all parties.
00:05:09.620 So I think Brian Friedman and the Wayfair Party, they just agreed that, OK, let's give them more time.
00:05:17.560 So this is a discussion about those unsealed documents.
00:05:21.120 Not the documents that we're waiting for this week, because that is from another batch of documents.
00:05:26.520 This is from the big, big batch of documents.
00:05:29.900 And the judge ruled that by December 19th, all parties had to redact everything that they wanted redacted, you know, like phone numbers and email addresses and personal information like that from those documents.
00:05:43.040 And now all parties are saying that, hey, we need more time.
00:05:47.800 I don't know why they need more time.
00:05:50.120 I guess they're overwhelmed.
00:05:51.520 And they're trying to find strategies and especially how to work the press before all of this new evidence comes out.
00:05:59.120 Because we know for sure there's a real bombshell here.
00:06:02.100 So I think the reason why Wayfair parties agreed to this is just like, hey, judge, just give them more rope.
00:06:09.060 So, yeah, let's see if the judge agrees to this, if he wants everything to move faster or if he's going to say, OK, since everyone agrees for once, I'm going to give you more time.
00:06:17.900 So they're basically asking to move this until after Christmas, January.
00:06:23.460 I don't know if it's because the court is closed during Christmas.
00:06:28.120 As you remember last year, when Blake filed her lawsuit against Justin on December 19th, he didn't have the chance to respond until after New Year's because the court was closed.
00:06:41.760 And maybe that's what they're worried about here.
00:06:44.400 But then again, if they actually start unsealing, it probably wouldn't happen until next year anyways.
00:06:50.960 So, yeah, I don't know if this is a major thing or not.
00:06:53.400 We are all going to see the evidence no matter what, if it happens later this year or next year.
00:06:59.280 And this week, Wednesday or Thursday and even Friday, we are probably going to see a lot more stuff get unsealed.
00:07:07.360 I am really hoping for some text messages from Taylor Swift and also some text messages from Ryan Reynolds.
00:07:16.360 And thank you, Katie, for sending me this reminder, this video, this interview that Justin Baldoni did with Access Hollywood when he was promoting the movie.
00:07:34.140 But in this interview, he says that he found Isabella Ferrer and he loved her as young Lily.
00:07:41.220 And then he brought her audition tape to Taylor and Blake.
00:07:47.040 I had actually brought in and showed her casting tape to Blake and Taylor.
00:07:51.640 And they were both like, yes, her.
00:07:53.460 And that's a that's that's a true story.
00:07:54.960 So, yes, if he brought it to them in person, if he was with Taylor Swift, if they had a meeting together, that means that Taylor met Justin many times.
00:08:04.920 As we know so far, she met him twice in two meetings where she just happened to be.
00:08:11.380 And if this is the case, if he met them in person and showed them Isabella's audition, then she met him quite a few times.
00:08:19.660 I also found this interview to be so telling about Justin Baldoni's personality and his character.
00:08:25.600 In this interview, he's describing Blake as beloved and recognizable.
00:08:30.600 And he's saying that Isabella is a phenomenal actress.
00:08:34.160 When you have somebody as beloved and as recognizable as Blake, the only way it can really work is if you have somebody that resembles her.
00:08:41.280 So we did a TikTok search.
00:08:42.560 We like looked through thousands of women and tapes and and, you know, we had lookalikes submit who had never acted before.
00:08:52.880 And then I found Isabella, our wonderful casting director, sent me her tape and I watched it.
00:08:59.400 And my I remember asking, did she put that mole there in that place?
00:09:04.280 Um, and if you look at her at the right angle, it's a spitting image more than just the resemblance.
00:09:12.140 She is a phenomenal actress.
00:09:14.620 This is after they've done all the stuff that they've done to him.
00:09:18.680 He's sitting there praising them.
00:09:21.280 I mean, the amount of integrity that Justin Baldoni has shown through all of this is just amazing to me.
00:09:29.380 OK, so let's get into what Ryan Reynolds has been up to.
00:09:32.300 This is quite interesting.
00:09:33.380 This article, I saw some other people talk about it yesterday.
00:09:36.880 It was in Forbes magazine.
00:09:38.580 And I think they actually took some of this information from the Evening Standard in the UK,
00:09:44.480 because apparently this is a big deal over there.
00:09:47.420 And I totally understand why.
00:09:50.280 So this article basically explains how Deadpool and Wolverine cost a half a billion dollars to make and didn't really make a profit.
00:10:00.520 It's not been like this humongous financial success that Ryan Reynolds has been bragging about.
00:10:07.220 So basically, they shot this movie in the UK.
00:10:10.260 And the reason for that is because they have tax incentives over there.
00:10:14.660 So what happens when you shoot a big movie in the UK, the government reimburses you 25% of the money that you spend in their country.
00:10:24.180 That's basically taxpayers' money.
00:10:26.500 And that's something the Evening Standard pointed out, saying that the government has come under fire after it emerged that a record 60 million pounds of taxpayers' cash was handed to Disney last year to film the Ryan Reynolds superhero movie Deadpool and Wolverine in London,
00:10:47.160 despite the studio making $3 billion of operating profit in 2024.
00:10:53.620 Then they explain what this money could be spent on.
00:10:56.540 It could cover the cost of 802 GPs for a year, or it could give 4,227 hip operations or 61 MRI scanners.
00:11:09.340 And instead of spending money on that, the government decided to give the money to Disney and Ryan Reynolds.
00:11:14.600 So there are a few interesting aspects here.
00:11:17.200 One is that the movie didn't really make that much profit.
00:11:21.340 And also the fact that the UK government paid so much money for this movie to be made in the UK.
00:11:28.820 This is crazy on so many levels because, A, what is a movie like Deadpool actually contributing to that makes the world a better place?
00:11:39.300 It's only for profit.
00:11:40.800 And the fact that the taxpayers have to pay for that, for Ryan Reynolds to fly his private jet around and brag about how successful he is.
00:11:49.540 And as I spoke about yesterday as well, also taxpayers' money is going to subsidize his soccer club, Wrexham.
00:11:58.740 So all of this information really hurts Ryan, obviously, because he has this image of everything he touches turns to gold.
00:12:06.800 But apparently it doesn't.
00:12:09.320 And the fact that he's spending government money who could actually help other people, other citizens who actually need it, it's pretty appalling.
00:12:17.680 And it's interesting to see now how the media is starting to pick up these stories.
00:12:22.460 And it's all Ryan Reynolds' fault.
00:12:24.180 No one would start digging into these things unless he would have opened up this opportunity by showing his real collars through this lawsuit of Blake Lively's.
00:12:34.220 Anyways, there is this cute story in People Magazine today.
00:12:37.760 I thought it was really weird.
00:12:39.440 And I'm like, what is the story here?
00:12:41.740 I'm trying to be objective here.
00:12:43.500 And I think this story is kind of ridiculous.
00:12:45.940 So People Magazine is writing a story about Justin Baldoni and his kids, basically.
00:12:51.280 It's a family piece with no news aspect to it.
00:12:55.120 It says, Justin Baldoni's two kids, all about daughter Maya and son Maxwell.
00:13:00.020 It ends with a star shares two kids, Maya and Maxwell, with his wife, Emily.
00:13:05.200 That's the story and the headline here.
00:13:07.500 It's kind of a cute fluff piece.
00:13:09.740 But then again, I just feel like it's unnecessary.
00:13:13.420 I don't know if this is even planted.
00:13:15.220 I think maybe People wants to do a story like this to come off as more balanced.
00:13:20.120 As we know, in the beginning, I felt like People Magazine was truly biased towards Blake Lively until Taylor Swift entered the conversation.
00:13:30.480 And then they were like, OK, let's be a bit more balanced here now because we want the goodwill of Taylor Swift.
00:13:37.260 She's more important to us than Blake Lively.
00:13:39.600 So now they're balancing things out a little bit.
00:13:43.020 As I said, it was a cute piece, but I just don't get it.
00:13:46.020 Why would they write a story about Justin Baldoni's wife and kids?
00:13:50.960 And they don't even mention the lawsuit in here.
00:13:53.800 So that's why this piece is not SEO manipulation either,
00:13:57.820 because they're not using the tag words here to make this story appear if someone Googles.
00:14:03.140 And that's why I guess I have to conclude that it's not planted,
00:14:06.680 that they just wanted to write this story to come off as more balanced
00:14:09.820 and hoping that it will create some clicks because people are searching for Justin Baldoni.
00:14:15.520 Anyway, today's the big premiere of the Netflix documentary about P. Diddy,
00:14:21.520 the one that 50 Cent has produced.
00:14:24.060 I can't wait to watch that.
00:14:25.820 We have to find somebody that'll work with us that has dealt in the dirtiest of dirty business.
00:14:31.380 We're losing.
00:14:31.900 I don't know about you guys, but I find this so fascinating and talking about narcissists here.
00:14:38.860 Not that I'm going to compare Blake Lively and P. Diddy here, but they have some of the same traits.
00:14:45.720 Blake keeps telling on herself all the time in interviews and when she's recording herself.
00:14:50.460 And the same thing goes for P. Diddy.
00:14:52.980 And some of this new footage that we haven't seen before have been obtained by 50 Cent.
00:14:59.820 And of course, Mr. Combs' legal team is not happy about that.
00:15:05.300 They say that that footage is illegal and whatever.
00:15:09.120 I don't think it really matters.
00:15:10.840 We get to see it, which is the important thing here.
00:15:13.180 So a spokesperson for Mr. Combs here says that the streaming giant is plainly desperate
00:15:19.300 to sensationalize every minute of Mr. Combs' life without regard for truth
00:15:24.520 in order to capitalize on a never-ending media frenzy.
00:15:29.080 I'm sorry, but we can't have any sympathy for P. Diddy.
00:15:33.220 And there's a video footage of what he has done to people.
00:15:37.560 His ex-girlfriend is there.
00:15:39.620 We can see it with our own eyes.
00:15:41.220 And then they're saying here that they ripped private footage out of context.
00:15:46.520 I've seen the footage.
00:15:47.440 It's not out of context.
00:15:48.880 Including conversations with his lawyers that were never intended for public viewing.
00:15:53.300 Then why did he film it?
00:15:55.640 No rights in that material were ever transferred to Netflix or any third party,
00:16:00.820 the representative added.
00:16:02.320 I'm sure they can go after Netflix and sue them and whatever,
00:16:05.880 but it's not going to change anything.
00:16:07.320 And the director of the docuseries came out with a statement to Variety saying that the footage came to us
00:16:14.360 and they obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights.
00:16:19.480 And she said that we moved heaven and earth to keep the filmmaker's identity confidential.
00:16:25.860 One thing about Sean Combs is that he's always filming himself.
00:16:29.540 And it's been an obsession throughout the decades.
00:16:32.360 We also reached out to Sean Combs' legal team for an interview and comment multiple times,
00:16:37.780 but did not hear back.
00:16:39.740 So yes, we're not going to see an interview with Sean Combs in this documentary about him.
00:16:44.980 I think it's so great that someone like 50 Cent is behind this.
00:16:49.540 And as I said, I'm really curious to watch this when I get the time.
00:16:52.440 Anyway, that's it from you guys.
00:16:53.800 I hope you enjoyed this episode and thank you so much for watching and all that stuff.
00:16:58.280 And subscribe and like and share and hype and comment.
00:17:01.820 And I'll see you tomorrow.
00:17:04.020 Bye.
00:17:14.980 Bye.
00:17:36.440 Bye.
00:17:36.640 Bye.
00:17:39.640 Bye.
00:17:40.480 Bye.
00:17:42.980 Bye.
