Flaawsome Talk with Kjersti Flaa - Hollywood pulls the PLUG on Ryan Reynolds !!

00:00:00.900 Paramount cancels three of Ryan Reynolds' upcoming projects.

00:00:10.860 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Tashti Flo, a journalist, Hollywood truth teller,

00:00:15.660 and your voice of reason in a town built on delusion.

00:00:19.940 Okay, so the article I spoke about yesterday is out. I was interviewed by Daily Mail.

00:00:25.620 The title is a little misleading, but I still really love the idea that they did this story on me,

00:00:31.380 so I'm very grateful for that. Also, Paramount cancels three of Ryan Reynolds' upcoming projects.

00:00:40.200 Are they terrified of his damaged reputation, or is something else behind this?

00:00:45.580 Did Paul Feig, the director of Another Simple Favor with Blake Lively,

00:00:50.080 hire an army of people to delete comments? This does not make any sense to me.

00:00:56.440 Also, I did a poll here on my channel asking people if they heard about this cyber attack on Taylor Swift,

00:01:04.000 and I was kind of surprised by the outcome.

00:01:06.880 And I also wanted to give a shout out to Kate Winslet in this episode,

00:01:10.040 because I think she's such a great role model.

00:01:12.040 And with that, talk a little bit about Hollywood and beauty standards. 0.96

00:01:15.740 Okay, let's get into it. Quickly, this article, which I just spoke about,

00:01:18.980 Daily Mail just interviewed me yesterday, and the headline says,

00:01:22.820 I was dragged into Blake Lively's messy legal drama after an explosive public clash, dot, dot, dot.

00:01:29.940 And now I demand an apology. I didn't actually demand an apology.

00:01:35.180 I'm going to read for you exactly what I said, but I do like that they did this article.

00:01:40.000 So please don't get me wrong about that. I just feel like that headline was a little misleading,

00:01:44.980 because this is what I said. They asked me if I would demand an apology, and I said,

00:01:50.720 I'm probably far down on the list of people whom she owes apologies.

00:01:55.620 So, yeah, I mean, I do think a lot of people should receive some apologies from Blake Lively, obviously.

00:02:03.400 This is a great article, and if you want to read it, it's on the Daily Mail.

00:02:07.320 I can put a link below here. I'm just talking about the whole process, what it was like for me during that time,

00:02:13.220 especially last year during Christmas, when, you know, people were coming after me,

00:02:17.360 believing what they read in the New York Times, all the things that I've spoken about here.

00:02:21.660 So now let's see if the New York Times picks up this article, or any other outlets will pick it up,

00:02:26.300 because I do think this is really bad for Blake, because this means that she's gone after innocent people.

00:02:32.040 And if she's gone after me, who knows how many other people she's actually gone after?

00:02:37.800 So here are some of the comments on the article. It says,

00:02:40.840 Long story short, most of the public has concluded that Blake is you-know-what

00:02:44.960 and won't be supporting her future endeavors.

00:02:48.540 I wouldn't waste any more time expecting anything from that camp.

00:02:52.500 Here we have a Blake Lively supporter comments.

00:02:55.240 How convenient that she cannot conceive talking about me not being able to have children.

00:03:00.100 I don't believe her, to be honest.

00:03:02.420 And she shouldn't be mentioning women's early pregnancies on camera without their permission.

00:03:08.320 Blake Lively was eight months pregnant. It was not an early pregnancy.

00:03:12.360 She was very big at the time. I congratulated her. I didn't mention her.

00:03:18.520 So that was kind of mean, but whatever.

00:03:20.760 And then someone else. Wow, there's a lot of Blake Lively supporters on Daily Mail all of a sudden.

00:03:25.400 That what this flaw woman is doing, that basically is a harassment. 1.00

00:03:29.420 Blake needs file restraining order against her. And that's it.

00:03:34.460 Also, I think that Blake needs an agent who wouldn't represent her and advise her in all her activities.

00:03:40.560 Good luck. Blake needs an agent. I think she has like seven agents.

00:03:44.920 Oh, here's a nice thing.

00:03:46.300 Flo is a journalist with great integrity. Blake is a bully. 0.99

00:03:49.620 Someone saying, Lady, shut up. No one cares about you. 1.00

00:03:52.740 You're a loser. Blake wasn't rude to you. 1.00

00:03:55.520 She just didn't care about you. 1.00

00:03:57.020 You have written about Blake not caring about you every single day for over a year.

00:04:01.800 This is your claim to fame.

00:04:03.720 Wow, there's a lot of support for Blake here. 0.98

00:04:07.160 This journalist is a real nutcase.

00:04:09.420 I remember her trying to make a name for herself by trashing Lively months back. 1.00

00:04:14.380 She's got a real problem and is making herself celebrity repellent. 1.00

00:04:19.320 On this one, she's made a fortune blogging about this case and selling Baldoni versus Lively merch.

00:04:25.700 No one dragged her anywhere.

00:04:28.140 And then someone says, and her interview, she said, congrats on your little bump. 1.00

00:04:32.040 What a weird way to say congratulations on your impending arrival to a person you don't know.

00:04:38.080 So definitely Blake and Ryan has let their trolls out on this article.

00:04:44.180 Wow, because it's so interesting because usually on Daily Mail, there's a lot of support for Justin.

00:04:49.980 There's a lot of criticism towards Blake Lively usually.

00:04:55.200 Anyway, let me know what you think.

00:04:57.000 Do you think these comments are real or do you think that someone hired them to do that?

00:05:02.580 Anyways, let's get into Ryan Reynolds and Paramount here.

00:05:06.140 So you might remember that I spoke about Ryan Reynolds' relationship and deals with Paramount a while back.

00:05:13.280 His company Maximum Effort has a first look deal with Paramount, meaning that all the projects that he develops

00:05:20.000 through his production company and marketing company Maximum Effort, he has agreed to show first to Paramount.

00:05:27.300 So they have a very friendly deal going on there.

00:05:30.220 Now it was just announced that three of Ryan's future projects with Paramount have been cancelled.

00:05:40.600 So the deal that he had with them was just renewed in early 2024, basically just after Blake Lively filed her lawsuit.

00:05:49.160 And it runs through December of 2026.

00:05:51.360 So one more year.

00:05:54.040 As part of the deal, Reynolds is attached to, as both actor and producer, to the movies that he has in development.

00:06:01.000 And I'm sure he has a marketing deal on top of that as well because he loves to promote his own movies.

00:06:06.480 Right now, we have to say that Paramount is going through a shift because they're merging with Skydance Media.

00:06:12.860 And they have to re-evaluate some of their choices because of that.

00:06:17.940 We don't really know the reason behind this, but we know there are three movies that Ryan was supposed to do with Paramount.

00:06:26.740 One of them being Area 51, a sci-fi project with director Colin Trevorrow that Ryan was producing.

00:06:35.600 And another one was a Ferris Bueller's Day Off spin-off that Ryan was tied to as well.

00:06:43.940 And the third one is Eloise, a children's book adaption that had Ryan attached.

00:06:51.180 That is now reportedly sold to Netflix.

00:06:54.280 So here is the big question.

00:06:56.080 I don't think we really need to speculate that much to figure out why they dropped three of Ryan's projects.

00:07:03.600 Because obviously, we know that his name has been dragged through the mud through this lawsuit.

00:07:09.800 And we've seen a side of him that most people had really negative reactions to.

00:07:15.080 We know that he cannot have his comment section open on Instagram because he's receiving so much hate.

00:07:21.820 So why would Hollywood spend millions of millions of dollars investing in one of his projects right now?

00:07:28.580 And we don't know all the other stuff that's going to come out.

00:07:32.320 And this trial could be so explosive and so damaging to his and Blake's reputation

00:07:39.320 that studios will definitely have second thoughts about having his name attached to anything.

00:07:45.720 We know if this goes to trial and Blake is on that stand,

00:07:49.140 she's going to get asked so many private and personal questions about her relationship and about Ryan Reynolds.

00:07:54.900 There's definitely going to be a lot of new information out there that's not beneficial for either of them.

00:08:02.040 We also know there is another movie with Ryan attached that was postponed for almost a year.

00:08:08.260 That was announced a while ago.

00:08:10.540 So to me, this seems like the industry is getting cold feet.

00:08:14.820 I'm not going to say that Ryan is never going to be, you know, have a successful movie again.

00:08:20.060 But I think this is a real sign that people are being really reluctant to work with him right now.

00:08:26.460 And that's not because they're taking sides with Baldoni or Blake or whatever.

00:08:31.240 It's just because there is a risk attached to it.

00:08:33.980 And in Hollywood, money talks.

00:08:36.700 And keep in mind what just happened to Sidney Sweeney.

00:08:40.240 Sidney Sweeney was a really hot name in town.

00:08:43.260 Then she had that controversial ad out, the American Eagle jeans ad,

00:08:48.680 that she got so much criticism for.

00:08:51.200 However, she refused to apologize for it until recently.

00:08:55.440 She said that, oh, okay, I'm not for hate or whatever.

00:08:58.520 A little too late because at that time, her movie, Christy, was already out.

00:09:03.220 I've spoken about that movie.

00:09:04.380 I actually really liked that movie.

00:09:06.300 I thought she was great in it.

00:09:07.820 It is a much better movie about DV than it ends with us.

00:09:12.460 But people boycotted the movie because of her. 1.00

00:09:18.080 And I think that's quite obvious at this point that a lot of people refuse to watch it

00:09:23.780 because they don't like her opinions.

00:09:26.660 And keeping that in mind that that was, I think, one of the biggest box office bumps in history.

00:09:34.440 Why would you attach a controversial figure to one of your movies?

00:09:39.920 Right now, this is quite funny, actually.

00:09:43.540 I was looking at someone sent me the trailer to The Housemaids,

00:09:47.860 which is Paul Feig's latest movie.

00:09:52.160 Paul Feig is the one who also directed Blake Lively in another simple favor.

00:09:56.740 And I spoke about the other day that because she kept pushing for and promoting Brendan Sclinar,

00:10:04.040 who she co-starred with in It Ends With Us, to Paul Feig, he put Brendan Sclinar in his movie.

00:10:11.660 Brendan Sclinar has not spoken about Blake one time during the promotion of this movie.

00:10:17.160 He keeps saying that Sidney Sweeney was the one who got him the part.

00:10:21.200 So the three main characters in this movie is Sidney Sweeney, who I just said had all these controversies surrounding her.

00:10:29.340 Brendan Sclinar, who we all know from It Ends With Us and who people have criticized so much for taking side with Blake Lively.

00:10:37.640 And Amanda Seyfried, who I really love.

00:10:40.720 But she came out and said something really controversial about Charlie Kirk right after his death,

00:10:45.780 basically saying that he was hateful.

00:10:48.940 She said that she does not want to take that back.

00:10:52.060 And all of that came up again now during the promotion of this movie.

00:10:55.740 So Paul Feig now has three main characters in his film that he is trying to get people to go and see in the movie theater.

00:11:05.120 So when you look at the trailer, I looked at two different trailers on YouTube from this movie,

00:11:11.200 the first one and the second one,

00:11:12.560 and I could not find one single comment criticizing any of the three actors in this film.

00:11:22.280 This is pretty amazing.

00:11:23.840 And this makes me believe that they must have hired an army of people who are sitting full time on YouTube deleting comments.

00:11:34.440 Because that is so unrealistic to me.

00:11:37.460 Anyways, I watched the trailer.

00:11:39.260 It doesn't look like a good movie to me.

00:11:41.320 But who knows?

00:11:42.180 Maybe people will go and watch it anyways.

00:11:44.500 We'll have to wait and see.

00:11:46.100 Okay, so on Monday, the judge has called all parties in for a video conference

00:11:51.120 where they're supposed to talk about a potential settlement deal.

00:11:55.700 This is a meeting about how they're going to do that meeting about a potential settlement.

00:12:02.000 This is why things move so slowly in court.

00:12:05.300 Because you have to have a meeting about when you're having the other meeting and what's how that meeting is going to what form that meeting is going to be in if it's going to be an in person by telephone or by video conference.

00:12:16.540 Anyways, no one else is allowed into that hearing or into that meeting and then they're probably going to find another date for when they're going to sit down and try if they can come up with any agreement here.

00:12:27.220 People magazine did a story on this and they spoke to an attorney who said that when you litigate a case in federal court, you are required to participate in some form of alternative dispute resolution.

00:12:39.020 So this is procedural.

00:12:41.360 This would happen in any case.

00:12:43.340 So it doesn't mean that they are closer to a settlement now, but a settlement could happen anytime.

00:12:50.420 It could happen tomorrow.

00:12:51.500 It could happen just before the trial.

00:12:54.460 It could happen even during the trial.

00:12:56.740 And it says here that more than 90% of civil cases in the U.S. do settle.

00:13:02.060 Dole notes, this attorney notes, that the chances of settlement in this case are getting smaller.

00:13:07.020 People cannot agree if they're going to settle or not.

00:13:11.040 I hear so many different opinions about that from lawyers, from regular people.

00:13:17.300 No one really knows, though, because it would just be a guess.

00:13:21.660 And the thing is, we know for sure, though, that Justin is not going to settle unless he is completely vindicated and the rest of his team is completely vindicated.

00:13:33.300 And if they agree to a settlement, they're not allowed to talk about anything about this case in the future.

00:13:40.580 And of course, if he doesn't get completely vindicated, that's going to harm his career in the future.

00:13:45.240 So why would he agree to anything less than that?

00:13:48.900 And will Blake then admit that this was all a sham?

00:13:52.580 Well, I don't think so.

00:13:53.740 The attorney here reminds people that there is so much risk in going to trial and the magistrate judge is going to be hammering that message home at the settlement conference.

00:14:06.980 You see it again and again as a lawyer.

00:14:09.520 Lots of deals get made right before or even during trial.

00:14:13.640 Yes, and I'm sure that Blake knows that there is a huge risk that she is going to come out of this even worse than what things looks like for her right now.

00:14:23.660 OK, as I said, I did this poll yesterday because I spoke about this Rolling Stone magazine article where they were comparing the cyber attack that happened to Taylor Swift

00:14:35.780 to the AstroTurfing and the alleged smear campaign that happened to Blake Lively.

00:14:44.140 And I wanted to know how many people actually heard about that Taylor Swift smear campaign to see if it was actually successful.

00:14:52.820 I mean, I mean, obviously, she's a much bigger star than Blake Lively.

00:14:58.080 And I know a lot of you guys are active on social media.

00:15:01.480 So I was going to so I wanted to ask if any of you guys had actually even heard about these conspiracies surrounding Taylor Swift.

00:15:10.140 And over 3000 people did actually vote on this poll.

00:15:14.780 And 96 percent of you guys had never, ever heard about the things that Taylor Swift was accused of.

00:15:24.140 So that to me says that that campaign was really unsuccessful if that's what it tried to do.

00:15:30.840 So how come this smear campaign against Blake Lively was so successful?

00:15:37.580 Yeah, another thing here that doesn't make much sense.

00:15:41.660 If you missed my video yesterday, you should watch it.

00:15:43.860 I go through that article a lot and why it doesn't support Blake Lively's narrative whatsoever.

00:15:49.740 That is actually doing the opposite.

00:15:52.240 OK, I wanted to end this episode with Kate Winslet because I adore her.

00:15:56.880 I think she's amazing.

00:15:57.800 And she just put and she was just interviewed, I think, by Hello magazine.

00:16:01.280 She's quoted here talking about the beauty standards in Hollywood, how everyone starts looking really weird and how everyone is losing so much weight.

00:16:11.480 That is super scary.

00:16:13.520 She's saying if a person's self-esteem is so bound up in how they look, it's frightening.

00:16:19.440 And I don't know if you've noticed lately all these super skinny bodies that are out there. 0.92

00:16:38.980 It is so terrifying what OSEMPIC especially has done to a lot of the bodies in Hollywood.

00:16:46.320 And what I find so hypocritical, because I like to point out what's hypocritical here,

00:16:51.360 and that is this whole movement of body positivity that was going on for the last five years.

00:16:58.800 Suddenly, all of those people have become super skinny.

00:17:03.160 And people like Amy Schumer, who lost so much weight, has now deleted her entire history on Instagram before she lost the weight.

00:17:14.020 She said it has nothing to do with her losing the weight that she decided to delete all the old photos.

00:17:20.260 And it's just that she really enjoys who she is now.

00:17:23.460 So now the new narrative in Hollywood is like body neutral and wellness.

00:17:29.120 I lost all the weight because it wasn't healthy for me to carry on all this weight.

00:17:34.340 We've known that for a long time, that it's not healthy to be overweight.

00:17:38.400 And now all of a sudden, they're like, yeah, we noticed that.

00:17:42.240 So now we're on OSEMPIC, all of us.

00:17:44.780 And they're pushing it so far.

00:17:47.640 Have you seen Ariana Grande lately? 0.52

00:17:49.920 She looks like she's about to just like pulverize in front of us. 1.00

00:17:54.300 Also, Kelly Osborne lately has been so frail that it's scary.

00:18:00.440 She came out and said that her weight loss had nothing to do with being on these drugs.

00:18:05.140 She said that her weight loss is because she lost her dad and she lost her appetite.

00:18:11.000 I don't know if that's true or not.

00:18:13.080 But her face aged like 10 years because she lost so much weight.

00:18:18.160 And then you have Latoya Jackson and all these other people who were so pushing for body 0.96

00:18:25.000 positivity like Meghan Trainor, Rebel Wilson, Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah Winfrey, Kathy Bates,

00:18:32.480 Tori Spelling, Serena Williams, all these women that were supposed to be good role models 1.00

00:18:38.940 so everyone would feel comfortable in their own bodies are now saying, hey, skinny is the

00:18:45.420 new trend and I don't care what I told you last year because now I just want to promote

00:18:51.540 my new body and I don't care if it makes other people feel bad about themselves.

00:18:55.880 To be honest, I felt the body positivity was pushed a bit too far.

00:18:59.780 I feel like we should never promote a body that is unhealthy.

00:19:05.460 People should think about their health first, but now it's gone the complete other way.

00:19:10.320 And if you watch my interview with the plastic surgeon, he really pointed out the health risks

00:19:15.020 of being on these kind of medications.

00:19:18.020 And some people aren't even being honest about being on these types of drugs.

00:19:21.660 They're like, yeah, I just drink water and do Pilates.

00:19:24.380 Then I look like this.

00:19:26.060 And you're like, no, I don't believe you.

00:19:28.420 So now I feel like, did they actually ever believe in the body positivity that they promoted?

00:19:34.280 If this is like the new authenticity, then I think we should just bring back the filters instead.

00:19:39.860 At least we knew there were filters.

00:19:42.380 Now this love yourself era is gone and now it's just like fix yourself.

00:19:47.360 So yeah, bravo to people like Kate Winslet.

00:19:50.800 So bravo to people like Kate Winslet.

00:19:52.860 There's not many left who's out there and actually promoting a healthy lifestyle and being comfortable in your own skin.

00:20:02.180 She says here, my favorite thing is when your hands get old.

00:20:06.820 That's life in your hands.

00:20:08.620 Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70. 1.00

00:20:11.240 And what upsets me is that young women have no concept of what being beautiful actually is. 0.95

00:20:17.800 Anyways, that's it for me, you guys.

00:20:19.920 I'll end this video with Blake Lively hugging so many people because someone on Reddit did this video.

00:20:27.020 And I thought it's amazing because they were accusing Justin, as you know, of a culture of hugging.

00:20:32.260 See you soon.

00:20:34.620 Bye.

00:21:02.260 Yeah, we've lost some talk.

00:21:04.320 Yeah, we've lost some talk.
