00:00:00.000 Did Ryan Reynolds just tell us that he's getting a divorce?
00:00:07.800 Hi and welcome to Flossom Talk. I'm Ashley Floor, journalist, Hollywood truth teller,
00:00:12.420 and your voice of reason in a town built on the illusion.
00:00:16.760 Did Ryan Reynolds just tell us that he is getting divorced? Or are they divorced already?
00:00:22.180 And has Blake Lively's friendship with Taylor Swift cost her all her VIP invitations?
00:00:28.740 Let's also look a bit more into the hidden meaning behind the text exchange
00:00:32.560 between Blake and Taylor.
00:00:35.240 This is so much worse than I thought.
00:00:38.340 Let's also talk about why Sidney Sweeney's jeans campaign is failing this time.
00:00:44.100 It seems like American Eagle was trying to do a Ryan Reynolds and it failed.
00:00:49.020 Yeah, monetizing on controversy doesn't necessarily mean success in the long run.
00:00:56.200 You see what I did there, right?
00:00:57.060 also as you know Prince Harry lost his case against the Daily Mail and now he's
00:01:02.600 stuck with an enormous bill that might get up to 75 million dollars and on top
00:01:07.840 of that he has now disrespected the judge who might be ready to punish him
00:01:13.640 even more yeah let's look into that as well anyways my style is still on this
00:01:19.640 eye as you can see it's a little bit better today I am keeping my fingers
00:01:24.260 crossed that by tomorrow you might not be able to see it at all. And regarding that thank you so
00:01:30.880 much to everyone who sent me amazing tips on how to get this thing out of my eye. Anyways let's get
00:01:38.480 into it. Thank you Cassandra for sending me this clip. This is really good. So Ryan Reynolds was on
00:01:46.060 Jimmy Fallon two years ago when he was promoting Deadpool number three Deadpool versus Wolverine
00:01:53.000 And then Jimmy Fallon asked him if he's planning to do a number four of these movies.
00:02:00.460 And as I reported on yesterday and the day before,
00:02:04.040 Ryan Reynolds came out on this random fan event
00:02:07.920 and said on a stage in front of a smaller audience
00:02:11.320 that he's definitely doing a Deadpool 4.
00:02:15.940 No one has confirmed this.
00:02:17.920 Marvel has yet to come out and say anything about it.
00:02:20.680 they've not responded to any outlets yet. Everyone who was reporting on this said that there's no
00:02:25.780 comment from Marvel yet. So as I said the other day, I think this is one of Ryan's tricks on how
00:02:31.880 to get things done or how to get things made like he did the first time with the first Deadpool
00:02:36.540 movie. He leaked the footage so he could use that as pressure to get the movie made and I would not
00:02:43.200 be surprised if that is his strategy here as well. But this is where it gets interesting because
00:02:50.120 Because when Jimmy Fallon asked him that, Ryan responded like this.
00:02:56.660 Will we see a Deadpool 4?
00:02:58.640 Oh, God, no.
00:02:59.680 I, my wife and children will divorce me. 0.98
00:03:03.620 The kids will divorce you?
00:03:05.340 Jimmy, I have no prenup with any of them.
00:03:08.080 You can't make that.
00:03:08.720 I will be capital B broke and in turn probably then doing Deadpool 4.
00:03:13.200 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:03:14.020 So we cannot make that happen.
00:03:15.180 Yes, if I make a Deadpool 4, my wife and kids will divorce me
00:03:21.120 and I will be broke with a capital B
00:03:24.660 and then I might have to make a Deadpool 4 anyways.
00:03:29.720 So that begs the question,
00:03:33.360 is this a hint to Blake Lively, his wife, saying like,
00:03:38.020 hey, Blake, I'm making a Deadpool 4.
00:03:40.880 you know that is the secret code for I'm divorcing you or are they divorced already because he said
00:03:49.440 that if he mentions to Blake that he's going to make another movie she will divorce him and then
00:03:53.620 he will be forced to make another movie to pay for that divorce we can only start to imagine
00:03:59.840 what a mess it will be to divorce Blake Lively because I think at one point that is just
00:04:06.520 inevitable how many couples survive in Hollywood to begin with and what these two people have been
00:04:12.920 through and they have four children on top of two careers the odds are not great let's put it that
00:04:19.720 way and as you know Blake's legal bills are enormous and we all know who paid for those
00:04:27.000 can you imagine Ryan sitting there having to pay for all her legal bills and then when they get a
00:04:32.280 divorce she obviously wants half of everything that he has yeah I can't imagine anything getting
00:04:39.740 dirtier than these two people leaving each other I hope of course for their children's sake that
00:04:45.820 they stay together what do you guys think do you think this was an easter egg for Blake Miley to
00:04:50.420 get ready for what's ahead as you know a lot of people noticed how the two of them are not hanging
00:04:55.660 out together anymore they're never at any public events together and when they show up it's all
00:05:02.160 this fake performance for the paparazzi to pretend that they're still in love while taking digs at
00:05:08.740 Justin Baldoni, I think in a sense that's what kept them together and strong together while this
00:05:14.360 legal feud was going on because they had an enemy in common. But now that Justin has moved on and
00:05:21.680 the legal feud is over, what do they still have in common? Anyways, I forgot to mention this a few
00:05:29.060 weeks back I received this tip from someone an insider who's anonymous and I have to say I never
00:05:36.100 watched Game of Thrones it was never my thing I do respect everyone who loves that show by the way
00:05:41.200 just so don't shave me for not liking that I don't really like fantastical things whatsoever it's not
00:05:46.700 my cup of tea but anyways this person pointed out something really really fascinating to me
00:05:54.620 So as you know, there are a lot of text messages between Blake and Taylor that we've all seen and maybe we didn't really read enough into them.
00:06:02.940 At least I didn't know this.
00:06:04.980 And this person said Blake's unredacted text message to Taylor is really a lot more revealing.
00:06:11.540 She said, I have never felt more like Khaleesi.
00:06:14.460 I have dragons, except my dragons are bred with Cersei, with Cersei herself. 0.57
00:06:20.260 Saying that her dragons are bred with Cersei, who is the most evil, diabolical, unethical,
00:06:27.960 scheming, manipulative, and power-hungry character on Game of Thrones, is saying she viewed her
00:06:35.060 dragons, aka Taylor Ryan and Sean, Sean the director of Deadpool, as having these evil,
00:06:42.120 power-hungry characteristics. Cersei would do absolutely anything to gain hold and protect her
00:06:51.860 power, including killing her own husband, the king, so she could take his place and she would 0.97
00:07:00.040 manipulate, take control and take over everything without hesitation. Sound familiar? I did not know 0.56
00:07:08.940 this about Cersei and I went on and I found that text again and I looked at Taylor's response to
00:07:15.520 that and she said I'm just picturing you muttering drakeries and then I fire off those texts to
00:07:23.040 Austin and then she added a dragon emoji and a fire emoji I have a feeling that Blake and Taylor
00:07:30.320 have been texting a lot of dragons back and forth to each other and I'd of course since I didn't
00:07:35.640 what Game of Thrones I didn't know what Dracarys were and it says here that in Game of Thrones
00:07:40.560 Dracarys is the high Valyrian command Khaleesi gives her dragons it literally means dragon fire
00:07:49.500 when Khaleesi says Dracarys her dragons unleash fire on her enemies so Taylor's response imagining
00:07:59.260 Blake whispering Dracarys and then she added that she's immediately sending a text to Austin
00:08:05.620 basically joking that Blake is giving the orders and her dragons goes into action.
00:08:10.780 So the fact that these two women use these examples in their texts
00:08:15.120 says one thing, obviously, how scheming and evil all of this was.
00:08:19.900 But it also says that Taylor was totally fine with Blake calling her a dragon.
00:08:25.700 She participated in this joke and she added dragon emojis herself.
00:08:31.980 Taylor did that.
00:08:32.820 And here in an article, as you know, Taylor came out later and said that she felt used.
00:08:38.560 It says in this page six article, Taylor Swift feels used by Blake Lively,
00:08:43.060 which is actress didn't drag her into Justin Baldoni lawsuits.
00:08:46.840 And an insider said here that Taylor doesn't appreciate being referred to as one of Blake's dragons. 0.99
00:08:55.280 After Lively's alleged texts were revealed in a countersuit filed by her,
00:09:01.000 it ends with as co-star and director Justin Baldoni. As you know, in the beginning of this
00:09:08.480 drama when Justin Baldoni countersued Blake, Ryan, the New York Times, Leslie Sloan, we had only seen
00:09:16.000 text messages from Justin basically. And in those text messages, as you know, Blake said that I have
00:09:23.100 dragons and they're good and they can be bad or whatever. Taylor, of course, was hoping that her
00:09:30.080 and Blake's private text messages would never become public
00:09:34.420 because then everyone would see that she was totally fine with being a dragon
00:09:39.520 and referring to herself as taking order from the dragon, Khaleesi herself.
00:09:45.600 Taylor was totally fine with that.
00:09:47.680 But at this point, this early on in this legal feud,
00:09:50.980 Taylor could just say like,
00:09:52.320 hey, I didn't know that Blake called me her dragon to Justin.
00:09:56.620 That is just unacceptable.
00:09:58.300 and i feel so used yeah well now we all know the truth and i didn't know how bad this was i didn't 0.95
00:10:05.480 know that cersei was the most evil diabolical unethical scheming manipulative and power hungry
00:10:11.140 character of game of thrones but now i know anyways let's look at this story from rob shooter
00:10:17.340 apparently blake lively is no longer on the vip list in hollywood i don't think that's big news
00:10:24.060 because I was expecting that to happen anyways.
00:10:26.960 But what Rob is saying here is that Blake Lively is still a Hollywood star,
00:10:30.680 but we hear life without Taylor Swift comes with noticeably fewer VIP perks.
00:10:37.920 Insider tell us that Blake Lively continues to score invitations
00:10:41.660 to the industry's biggest events,
00:10:43.480 from award shows and NFL games to the World Cup final.
00:10:47.680 What's changed, they say, isn't the invitation itself,
00:10:50.880 it's the axis that comes with it.
00:10:53.640 Blake is absolutely still getting invited, a Hollywood insider says.
00:10:58.400 But without Taylor, she's no longer automatically getting the best seats,
00:11:02.240 the most exclusive lounges, or the kind of VIP treatment that came with being part of Taylor's inner circle.
00:11:09.200 Lively's apparent at the World Cup final came just weeks after she was absent from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey wedding.
00:11:15.800 while Blake was in the stadium insiders couldn't help noticing that she was seated well away from
00:11:23.520 the headline making celebrity section Taylor's world operates on another level another source
00:11:30.260 says yeah so maybe that's why everyone missed that she was at the world cup final and Blake
00:11:35.260 had to post a selfie herself to prove that she was actually there because she was not in the 0.90
00:11:42.140 celebrity section she was not in any vip section she was just there hanging out with her unfamous
00:11:49.420 friends as the daily mail reported on these two girls used to make friendship bracelets
00:11:54.540 uh that was associated with taylor swift and her eras tour someone also emailed me and said that
00:12:01.280 these girls did not come from nothing i was reporting on that the other day they've been
00:12:05.320 interviewed and they said they started this company stony clover lane in their bedroom
00:12:10.840 Well, apparently they come from a lot of money and they didn't have to start small in their
00:12:17.140 bedroom. So yeah. Anyways, Rob continues to say that being one of our closest friends meant front
00:12:23.900 row seats, invitation only parties and access to the most influential people in music, sport,
00:12:30.240 fashion and Hollywood. Those opportunities don't automatically follow you once you're outside that
00:12:36.000 circle. And then it says their sources are quick to point out that Blake remains a successful
00:12:41.440 actress with an impressive career and plenty of powerful connections. Still they say the shift
00:12:48.020 hasn't gone unnoticed. These kind of articles are terrible for Blake because if anyone was thinking
00:12:55.160 that they might invite her to something and then they read articles like this saying like
00:13:00.180 um she's not invited to the most important events anymore no one really wants her there
00:13:05.960 And the only reason why she was invited was because of Taylor Swift.
00:13:09.920 And as I said so many times before, if you happen to invite Blake or if you happen to
00:13:14.440 end up in a photo with Blake, you have to close off your comment section.
00:13:19.000 Why would any brand or anyone really want that for themselves?
00:13:22.960 Anyways, let's look at Sidney Sweeney's New Jeans campaign and how it's not working out
00:13:27.760 at all and how Prince Harry put himself in a terrible position and might go bankrupt.
00:13:35.340 But before we get into that, I wanted to thank the sponsor of this video, Lola Blankets.
00:13:41.960 If you've been watching my show for a while, you know that I love my Lola Blankets.
00:13:46.440 And now that I'm here in Spain, in Mallorca, I miss them so much because I couldn't bring
00:13:52.820 them with me in my suitcase.
00:13:54.900 I never thought I'd say I miss a blanket, but I actually do.
00:13:58.880 After I discovered Lola a while back, it became my go-to gift for everyone.
00:14:04.780 Whenever I don't know what to buy someone, I'll give them a Lola blanket.
00:14:08.940 And every person who felt how soft these blankets are had the exact same reaction.
00:14:14.180 Like, oh my gosh, I've never felt anything as soft.
00:14:17.820 These Lola blankets are made from ultra soft luxury faux fur with a unique four-way stretch.
00:14:26.180 And it's machine washable.
00:14:28.860 And that is also why I'm allowing my dog Oscar to use them.
00:14:33.340 They don't shed, they don't pill, you throw it in the washing machine and it looks exactly the same, wash after wash.
00:14:41.260 It also elevates any room. I have one in the living room, one in the bedroom.
00:14:46.600 It just makes everything look a bit luxurious.
00:14:49.840 And I'm from Norway, so trust me, I know what cozy and hygge is.
00:14:54.980 And what's really reassuring as well is that these blankets have over 20,000 five-star reviews.
00:15:03.340 so I'm obviously not the only person who really loves these blankets.
00:15:07.200 Anyways, for a limited time, you as my viewer and listener can get up to 40% off select Lola Blankets
00:15:13.560 at lolablankets.com if you use my code FLO, my last name, at checkout.
00:15:21.000 Just head to lolablankets.com and use code FLO.
00:15:24.840 After you purchase, they may ask where you heard about them,
00:15:27.880 so please support my channel by saying that I sent you.
00:15:31.560 Wrap yourself in luxury with Lola blankets.
00:15:35.480 All right, let's get back into it.
00:15:37.000 So it's been about a year, I think,
00:15:39.120 since the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle campaign
00:15:42.240 created a lot of buzz.
00:15:45.860 It was a huge controversy.
00:15:48.140 She was being attacked on social media.
00:15:50.380 Some people loved it.
00:15:51.500 Some people hated it.
00:15:52.980 She came out and defended herself initially
00:15:55.460 and she did get some backlash for it.
00:15:58.100 But it doesn't seem to have harmed her career in any way.
00:16:01.280 So American Eagle was like, hey, we're going to use Sidney Sweeney again for another campaign
00:16:06.360 because last time the controversy helped so much and we sold a ton of jeans.
00:16:11.620 Looking at this, I feel like there is a lot of parallels to how Ryan Reynolds runs his
00:16:17.740 maximum effort, his marketing company, use a viral moment, a controversy to make a big
00:16:23.300 splash and get a lot of attention, but then it all dies.
00:16:27.900 It's not sustainable.
00:16:29.140 So Daily Mail had this article today saying that Sidney Sweeney models plunging top in latest sultry shoot for American Eagle after sales dipped amid Star's controversial good jeans campaigns.
00:16:41.720 It says here that that campaign made American Eagle a lot of money and the shares went through the roof.
00:16:49.960 And American Eagle was like, hey, let's bring Sidney Sweeney back and do the same thing all over again.
00:16:55.960 And now they don't have a controversial slogan and people apparently are not buying the jeans.
00:17:02.440 Apparently, it says here that executives for American Eagle reportedly said they gained
00:17:07.680 around a million new customers and some products completely sold out.
00:17:13.080 The campaign dominated social media.
00:17:15.140 Whether people loved it or hated it, they couldn't stop talking about it.
00:17:19.780 Everyone had an opinion about that campaign. 0.98
00:17:22.500 That they make your butt look amazing. 0.74
00:17:24.480 so to me it looks like the controversy was doing all the selling of these jeans 0.92
00:17:30.560 it wasn't american eagle it wasn't sydney sweeney it was the controversy itself but getting all of
00:17:37.420 that attention doesn't mean that people are going to be loyal to your brand and reading about this
00:17:42.520 reminded me of an article that someone else in marketing wrote about maximum effort ryan reynolds
00:17:49.280 company marketing company because they're doing exactly the same thing they're taking a moment
00:17:54.360 that's already viral or they're run on controversy and then they monetize that and then they're
00:18:01.000 selling this to brands saying hey we're going to give you all this attention you're going to sell
00:18:05.960 a ton of products but what happens next is that people just move on it was interesting for a
00:18:12.620 minute but then everyone's on to the next thing and the worst part is that sydney sweeney was the
00:18:18.440 one who had to carry this controversy people didn't really attack american eagle that much
00:18:23.460 They attacked Sidney Sweeney for doing it and she sat down in interviews and finally she came out
00:18:29.420 and she addressed the controversy. She never said she was sorry though but she did get a lot of
00:18:35.280 backlash from it. It doesn't seem like her career was hurt by it at all though. She has a lot of
00:18:41.300 movies coming up. She's got a lot of sponsorship deals. She launched her own underwear line and 0.99
00:18:47.240 she still seems to pop up everywhere wearing really really sexy outfits. That's been her thing. 1.00
00:18:52.580 anyways i don't know if you agree with me but i feel like sydney sweeney is getting a little
00:18:56.140 trapped in her own brand she's always promoting her own body her own looks her appearance being
00:19:03.020 sexy that's what it's all about and i feel like she probably has a bit more to offer than that
00:19:08.940 and i don't think that is sustainable in hollywood as well so i hope for her own sake that she's not
00:19:14.760 going to be just a flash in the pan like this previous marketing campaign was for this jeans 0.92
00:19:20.360 brand that she can be a bit more clever about how she markets herself. Yeah let me know what you 0.65
00:19:26.280 think. Are you surprised the sales dropped for American Eagles even though they brought Sidney
00:19:32.580 Sweeney back? Anyways let's look at Prince Harry. He really messed up. As you know he sued the Daily
00:19:41.260 Mail together with Elton John and a few other celebrities in Britain and they lost big time.
00:19:48.660 the judge tossed out I think it was 92 or 97 claims altogether and said that there is absolutely
00:19:57.740 no evidence here. Prince Harry, Elton John and the others were accusing the Daily Mail of using
00:20:03.980 unethical methods to get hold of information and they had absolutely no evidence that that had
00:20:10.880 ever happened. And now what happens in Britain, if you lose a case like this, you're responsible
00:20:18.860 for covering the legal costs. And that could be an estimated amount of $75 million. And I was
00:20:27.480 listening to this really interesting podcast today, The Mark Dolan Show, and he's been going
00:20:33.600 into details about what all of this means for Prince Harry and how he might not be able to pay
00:20:40.440 this bill and the fact that when the judge came out with this ruling prince harry was being
00:20:47.460 disrespectful to the judge don't do that in britain or anywhere at all actually because if
00:20:53.900 you disrespect a judge before he has even decided how much you're going to pay in legal costs or
00:21:01.120 legal fees very very bad mistake so when this ruling came out prince harry was furious and said
00:21:09.680 that the judgment was a complete and obvious whitewash and that sparked a lot of political
00:21:17.460 backlash and fury in britain and now people are speculated if the judge is going to punish him
00:21:24.400 for actually saying that another big problem for prince harry is that of course he had an
00:21:30.180 insurance company and he was hoping that they will cover all of this but now the insurance
00:21:36.180 companies are looking at this case saying hey you know did you really tell us the truth about all
00:21:42.840 the evidence that you had that you said we're going to get a big payday here because the daily
00:21:48.700 mail is definitely going to lose this you didn't tell us that you actually had zero evidence of
00:21:54.620 what you were accusing them for so of course we are not going to cover your legal costs because
00:22:01.340 this lawsuit was frivolous they could also say to prince harry because you disrespected the judge
00:22:08.940 and his judgments we are not going to cover your legal costs or fees because he probably added
00:22:16.020 extra costs and fees because you disrespected him so this podcast went through harry's finances
00:22:22.900 saying that you know he has an eight million dollar mortgage on his home in montecito and
00:22:29.380 from that eight million they have to pay 469 000 annual in just mortgage payments and they also
00:22:36.840 pay about four million dollars annually for security and prince harry has a little bit of
00:22:42.980 money but not that much from princess diana his mom that inherited after her but as you know he's
00:22:50.960 cut off from the royal family so he's not getting any support from his family to cover any of this
00:22:57.280 and of course they're still upset with him for writing that book that he did when he exposed
00:23:02.640 personal and private details from the royal family so on July 29 there is a herring or it's
00:23:10.000 the beginning of a two-day cost herring where Harry will obviously try to get this cost down
00:23:16.800 as much as possible and I can imagine the Daily Mail is going to try to push these costs up as
00:23:22.920 much as possible because this has cost them a ton of money and also of course a lot of suffering
00:23:28.780 from all the journalists and employees who's been dragged into this who had to witness about this
00:23:34.360 who had to go and find their notebooks from like 15 20 years ago when they were writing stories
00:23:40.540 to prove that they were doing everything legally and that they had real sources to their stories
00:23:47.580 yeah it's going to be exciting to follow this and see what happens after this hearing how much money
00:23:53.600 prince harry is going to owe the daily mail and how long after that he is going to reunite with
00:24:01.100 his family and tell his brother that he loves him and tell the king like hey let's start over again
00:24:09.280 you know megan is sorry too and yeah you know the drill anyways that's it for me today you guys
