00:29:22.100not doing this right. It's this weird, honestly kind of messed up thing to do to your child,
00:29:26.720right? But long before Nija started coming home with familiar complaints, just like at her
00:29:31.560elementary school. So she's now in middle school. Her teachers did not assign homework and that
00:29:35.420troubled her and us. She'd bemoan how the less experienced teachers struggled to manage their
00:29:40.080classrooms and would expend so much attention on the small number of kids acting out that they'd
00:29:45.660be unable to complete their lessons or help a student stuck on a problem. There were occasionally
00:29:50.680fights in the hallway. So again, that's like, you're stuck at the bottom 5% is controlling
00:29:56.740how you learn in class because they're so unruly and there's rules against suspensions or whatever.
00:30:02.000You're just beholden to whatever they think, right? Yeah. And so then eventually like this,
00:30:07.220this whole story is kind of framed in her daughter's awakening, where she's kind of trying
00:30:12.760to exert her will and choose her own thing. And finally, the mom goes, all right, you can choose
00:30:19.560where you're going to go to high school. I explained our decision over and over, but my
00:30:23.840answers never satisfy her. But what did it do, she asked, sending her to the public schools,
00:30:28.300like the worst public schools. Putting me in this school didn't change anything. I was not trying
00:30:32.680to be in this type of environment. It makes no sense. So she's arguing with mom. Like a teenager
