00:00:30.000 We have to protect our girls.
00:00:31.760 It gives me full-body chills because I have two little girls here.
00:00:34.860 But I also grew up here, was a 15-time state champion,
00:00:38.420 got to go to the University of North Carolina because of sports.
00:00:41.720 And we're taking away those opportunities for girls.
00:00:48.880 Okay, girls, what the heck is happening in Colorado?
00:00:52.120 I feel like California gets a bad rep, 0.97
00:00:54.500 and maybe it's because people just expect it to be super blue, left-wing crazy.
00:00:58.520 but in my time kind of immersed in these deemed political issues why does Colorado seem to be
00:01:05.720 worse than California like what is going on in Colorado Meg you live there you have two little
00:01:12.320 girls there talk about prop 134 what it is the importance of it and what we're urging Coloradoans
00:01:19.580 to do across the state yeah so I think what a lot of people don't know is currently in Colorado
00:01:25.360 you can play on a sports team based on your gender identity.
00:01:29.740 So if even if a five-year-old feels like they're a girl,
00:01:33.440 they can, a boy, it feels like they're a girl, but is a boy,
00:01:37.960 they can play on the girls team.
00:01:39.300 So my youngest is having to deal with this already.
00:01:41.800 And it's happening at every level here in Colorado.
00:01:44.600 Like I said, from five all the way up.
00:01:46.860 Right now we have an incident going on at Dakota Ridge
00:01:50.240 where a boy is playing on the girls' JV volleyball team.
00:01:53.780 Like I said, happening at every level
00:01:55.100 and in every sport. And we need to protect our girls here because it's happening so much. And
00:02:00.000 unfortunately, the girls are being silenced here and they don't feel like they can come out and 0.95
00:02:04.740 say, Hey coach, can you help me? Can you protect me? I don't, I'm nervous to play a boy. I don't
00:02:09.160 want to play a boy. This isn't fair. This isn't safe. And so we, the people have to protect our 1.00
00:02:14.780 girls. And this is Prop 134 is protect girls sports act. It's so that there are three different
00:02:22.260 sex-based categories for sports here in Colorado, girls, boys, and co-ed. So we, the people, can vote
00:02:29.720 on this and protect our girls here in Colorado. I had so many opportunities here, and it's so sad
00:02:35.080 that my girls and Colorado female athletes have less opportunities than I had growing up. We're
00:02:40.180 going backwards. Yeah, it's so crazy. Okay, Paula, talk about why the proposition is necessary.
00:02:47.400 necessary we've seen some states with ballot initiatives and referendums and that kind of
00:02:52.120 thing but this is only necessary because the legislative body the state's legislature um they 0.81
00:02:58.320 just didn't have enough pool because there are people advocating representative bradley she's
00:03:02.040 been great in colorado there there have been people advocating for i mean uh the beliefs that
00:03:07.200 we all on this call and certainly i would imagine most of the people watching this most of the
00:03:11.820 people in the world mind you um the beliefs that we have that men aren't women that can't become
00:03:16.940 women and that women are worthy of their own, I guess, opportunities and private spaces to undress
00:03:24.640 and safety in their sports and beyond. But nonetheless, it has proven itself to be
00:03:29.160 unsuccessful in the legislature. Do you feel more hopeful or less hopeful that the people
00:03:35.200 are actually allowing themselves to have their voices heard now?
00:03:41.140 Yeah, to be honest, I am hopeful about this. Colorado is a state that actually allows you
00:03:46.520 to do ballot initiatives. That's not the case everywhere. I know that where I grew up,
00:03:50.780 Connecticut, where this is still a problem, that's not an option for us. And so that's something
00:03:55.700 that, again, people in Colorado have a unique opportunity this November to do so. Also happening
00:04:01.300 in Washington State. So if anyone in Washington State is watching as well, you have the same
00:04:05.720 opportunity Colorado does. But I think what this shows and actually why I think it's so important
00:04:11.420 is that what you said is true. Everyone for the majority, like the majority of people in this
00:04:16.720 world do not want boys playing on girls sports. And it's not even a political thing. It's not
00:04:21.600 even about how you vote. I think the majority of common sense people feel this way. And so I do
00:04:27.520 think it's a really cool opportunity where you don't have to focus on voting for a candidate
00:04:32.040 or for a representative that's going to bring this to law. You get to actually just vote and say,
00:04:37.320 hey, I don't want this to happen. And you can vote, you know, otherwise for whoever else that
00:04:42.160 you want. And so I think it allows us to have a unique opportunity where we can, you know,
00:04:46.760 reach across the aisle, as they say, or just really reach normal, common sense people. And
00:04:51.660 I think I'm excited to see, yeah, Colorado again, have that opportunity to do so.
00:04:57.120 Yeah, it's a good point. Because even if you're a Democrat, a lifelong liberal, you voted for
00:05:01.740 Joe Biden, I'm not going to critique you right now, because I want to implore you,
00:05:06.560 even still, if you choose to vote for Democrat, you can still vote yes on 134 in Colorado and yes
00:05:13.080 in Washington state on I-638. All really important stuff. Megan, you talked about your daughter
00:05:18.920 already facing this, which how old is she? So she faced it when she was six and under.
00:05:25.740 Like that is, that's absurd, obviously the issue itself, but also you have to,
00:05:30.500 there's got to be a level of heartbreak for the boy in this conversation too,
00:05:35.360 because he has been lied to and and no one at the age of six like that that's a decision
00:05:41.200 ultimately coming from the parents i don't care what you say are you with a brick wall
00:05:45.180 no six-year-old with sane parents would be doing this so there's a level of heartbreak you feel
00:05:52.640 for the little boy in this conversation too especially at this age six years old there's
00:05:57.940 heartbreak you feel for a lot of these kids because just like you said this is not coming
00:06:03.380 from the kids there's confusion so something like prop 134 i think will help everyone because these
00:06:09.260 parents on the sideline it's very confusing you want to protect your daughters and you're like
00:06:13.240 is that a boy what's going on and parents are talking and then this like innocent kid who's
00:06:18.980 been told something by their parents so if we pass prop 134 it's going to be very much sex-based
00:06:24.780 categories and it's going to make it very fair for that tomboy who like is playing soccer and
00:06:30.200 looks like a tomboy. And then we know that that is a girl. It's just a tomboy. And I think those 0.96
00:06:35.880 categories by having girl, boy, co-ed, it won't put pressure on that other kid. Like when my
00:06:42.680 youngest had to play the boy, he was wearing a sparkly pink jacket and you're six and the girls
00:06:49.120 are like, wait, what? Like I want to wear a sparkle pink jacket. It's just very confusing for kids,
00:06:54.360 both kids so if we have just like sports has always been you know fair sex-based categories
00:07:00.320 if we win prop 134 not only are we literally saving girls sports here because we will not
00:07:06.500 have girls sports if we don't win here but we're also making it so these kids aren't like targeted
00:07:12.860 or questioned everyone knows the rules everyone knows that it's fairness and everyone knows that
00:07:17.080 it's sex-based categories paula we've seen some pretty crazy stats and stories out of like jeffco
00:07:23.540 um there was a headline a while ago that there were like what 60 something roster spots like
00:07:31.020 girls or women's roster spots taken by boys or males um but we also see lots of like sexual
00:07:38.240 misconduct things with authoritative figures like teachers and people involved in the school
00:07:44.580 district with kids of course all concerning things there's a specific story out of dakota
00:07:49.800 Ridge High School. Have you guys had any communication with the girl who's ultimately
00:07:56.060 lost out, who's been kicked off of, lost her rightful spot on the volleyball team? Can you
00:08:02.920 provide a little color to the story that I'm alluding to? Yeah, definitely. We've been in
00:08:08.340 touch with them. And I think Megan can also add on here. Just the same things that you and I saw
00:08:14.220 when we were dealing with this. I mean, it's like the tactics they use. It doesn't matter if we're
00:08:18.060 in college or high school or middle school or elementary school, it's the same playbook all
00:08:23.000 the time. They just shut down any response. They shut down conversation. They make you feel like
00:08:27.540 you are crazy for not wanting this to happen. And that's what we keep seeing time and time again
00:08:33.720 with this issue. And again, in Dakota Ridge, that's exactly what they were told. No one was
00:08:38.900 really standing up for them. And a lot of the parents were trying to be there to support their
00:08:43.320 athletes, but ultimately, you know, if your school is not fighting for you, it's really hard to have
00:08:48.500 change and make change on this. I think this is important because we see the opposition and how
00:08:54.640 well-funded and well-organized they are, and I think that can be a little bit discouraging to
00:08:59.620 normal people, but you have to remind ourselves, I think that is our problem, is we're just normal
00:09:05.440 people. We don't imagine ourselves in these situations. We don't have that sort of victim
00:09:09.040 mentality. And so oftentimes I feel like we're having to act defensively instead of being on
00:09:15.500 the offense. So what's the on the ground work been like and the financial costs that go into
00:09:21.680 running ads and commercials and making sure that people vote yes on 134? Yeah. So I think it all
00:09:27.500 started about three years ago. I went to public comment, which is where they write the language
00:09:32.260 of the ballot initiative. So we got that pass. We tried to get signatures. It was an election year.
00:09:39.040 We only had three months to do it.
00:09:41.200 We unfortunately failed.
00:09:42.580 So we tried again.
00:09:44.000 And I wanted to do you need, by the way,
00:09:46.600 two hundred and twenty five thousand to get one hundred and seventy
00:09:50.080 thousand that are checked, signature, all the things.
00:09:53.640 And it's not just like, oh, you can do it online.
00:09:56.640 It's a wet signature with their address.
00:09:59.400 It takes a few minutes.
00:10:00.740 And, you know, you're a new mom, Riley.
00:10:03.040 I would rather speak in front of two thousand people
00:10:05.940 than stop a person who's running into the grocery store
00:10:08.980 and be like, hey, can you sign this?
00:10:11.200 Especially that's something so emotional for me.
00:10:13.700 As you, I mean, when people were saying no
00:10:15.680 at lacrosse female tournaments that we were traveling for,
00:10:20.100 it's very discouraging.
00:10:21.600 So the second time around, we got them.
00:10:24.080 We were at concerts.
00:10:25.040 We were at grocery stores, grandparents.
00:10:27.460 We work with Protect Kids Colorado.
00:10:29.440 And then obviously our organization, Athletes for Action.
00:10:32.860 We decided a few months ago that, you know,
00:10:35.320 we're there to support girls, give them a community,
00:10:37.980 give them a safe place to speak, and help them all around with their sports and their body and
00:10:43.440 their body image and all the things. But we have to make sure they have a sports category in order
00:10:48.340 to be able to do that and they have safe spaces. So we decided we're not going to be able to sleep
00:10:53.600 at night if we don't go full in on getting Prop 134 passed. So we decided to try to raise some
00:11:00.120 money, a very small amount compared to the opposition. They are raising a ton of money.
00:11:06.040 I think they have about $3 million. They get donations from Planned Parenthood, all the things
00:11:11.600 that you would think. And so we've been raising money to get ads out there to make sure that
00:11:16.280 people understand this is a very common sense issue. We have to protect our Colorado girls
00:11:21.600 here. We have to protect the future leaders of our country. Sports brings so many good things,
00:11:26.760 and you guys know that. That's why one of the reasons probably why I spoke out on this right
00:11:30.640 away is the confidence that sports brings you, the friendship, the leadership, the time management.
00:11:35.040 So we have to make sure our Colorado girls have that. And Paul and I both, you know, we're not going to pull up the ladder behind us just like you, Riley. You're traveling constantly. You're a new mom. You're out there. We're doing this for the girls, for the young girls. It's great we're making progress. Hi. But we need to make sure our youth girls have support and protection because we have millions of youth athletes in our country.
00:11:58.060 100%. We've got a video here of a woman, which it's always women, by the way. I don't know why 1.00
00:12:05.380 that is, but women seems to be like our greatest obstacle, liberal women specifically, seem to be 0.99
00:12:10.800 our greatest obstacle in achieving equality, right? They love that buzzword, but they are 1.00
00:12:16.520 our biggest hurdle as women in achieving that. We've got a video here of a woman running for 1.00
00:12:21.200 Congress, I believe in the Denver area, talking about 134 urging people to vote opposite of
00:12:27.740 Yes. Let's watch.
00:12:29.740 Oh, hey! It's that Colorado that cares about their neighbors and wants kids to live a joyful, fulfilling life
00:12:34.740 and believes that Trim's rent is for human rights. 0.91
00:12:36.740 And I'm so glad we ran into you because we have some information for you for the ballot.
00:12:40.740 You might have heard about these two ballot initiatives, 134 and 135.
00:12:44.740 They are designed to attack the safety of our trans children in sports
00:12:48.740 and to make sure that our trans community can't get the health care that it needs.
00:12:52.740 And if you haven't, they got on the ballot because of a conservative dark money group. 0.54
00:12:56.740 They want to ban gender-affirming care for minors.
00:12:59.500 They want to do gender checks for kindergartners all the way through adults in college in sports.
00:13:06.680 These ballot initiatives you'll be voting on are dangerous human rights violations
00:13:10.200 that do not represent the Colorado we know and love.
00:13:12.960 We want to protect our children's access to necessary health care
00:13:16.740 and to make sure they can live their true, authentic selves with support, dignity, and safety.
00:13:21.340 We will always support and protect our transgender neighbors and friends,
00:13:24.940 and we will be voting on 134 and 135 okay paula genital inspections that's what you guys are
00:13:33.540 advocating for you're advocating for pulling down the pants of young girls i think not i think 0.99
00:13:39.220 actually they're the ones who are okay with your daughter's genitals being inspected by men 0.99
00:13:43.200 but they lie is this not a total blatant lie it is a total blatant lie but to me it almost shows 0.96
00:13:51.440 that we're winning, because if that is the only thing that you can come up with to being a negative
00:13:56.320 to why somebody, you know, should not vote no, I mean, should not vote yes, which you absolutely
00:14:01.380 should vote yes on this. We got to make that clear. Sorry, the double negatives get a little
00:14:04.940 confusing. But I think that's all they have. I think it shows that this is really the side of
00:14:10.620 common sense. The only way that they can win on this issue is by simply making something up.
00:14:14.300 And also just quick clarification, that is not necessary. We can do cheek swabs that are
00:14:19.780 much less invasive than the things that they were sticking up your nose to do COVID tests.
00:14:24.480 Thank you very much, which those people are all in favor of and probably would still keep COVID
00:14:28.760 testing you if they could. So I think if that's all they got, I say, bring it on. This is an easy
00:14:34.840 yes for common sense people. And the language does not say anything about that. It simply says
00:14:40.800 we need sex-based categories in sports, which should not be controversial and only ultimately
00:14:47.020 protects all youth athletes and all kids that are playing sports. Yeah, but there's Megan, 0.95
00:14:53.760 there's got to be a part of you that's fearful that although it's total fear mongering for those
00:14:58.200 people who aren't necessarily as immersed in the issues of as we have become, there's got to be a
00:15:04.180 part of you that's fearful that it's convincing, right? Because you hear those things, a genital 0.81
00:15:09.200 inspection on your 10 year old daughter, and it does kind of stop you in your track. And you're
00:15:12.840 like wait i don't want that so do you have hope that people are i don't know like like competent
00:15:19.400 enough to do their own research first of all but secondly i mean to know that that isn't what
00:15:26.020 actually is is happening and no one is advocating for that except for them weirdly enough again they 0.60
00:15:32.040 want that in your daughter's locker rooms they want your daughter's genitals inspected in the
00:15:36.400 locker room we are the ones who are trying to prevent that from happening so are you confident
00:15:40.520 that voters will see through this, or is there a part of you that's kind of fearful that
00:15:44.660 their fear-mongering tactics have some sort of hold on people, on voters?
00:15:51.580 I would be lying if I said I'm not fearful, because every single liberal news, which is
00:15:57.780 almost everyone here, is pushing this agenda of lie after lie. The inspection thing is just
00:16:04.840 mind-boggling. It's a no, but they keep saying it in print. I'm a journalism major at the University
00:16:09.640 of North Carolina. And when I read these articles, I'm like, what? We used to get 50% off for any
00:16:14.780 fact. These are lies. So I do have to say, I am a little worried about it. And that's why
00:16:19.640 I would encourage all Coloradans to start talking about it, to start posting about it.
00:16:25.180 We cannot be silenced. Like being quiet anymore is not okay. We have to protect our girls. We have
00:16:31.260 to protect our spaces. Riley, the largest public school in Colorado, East High School, they have
00:16:37.200 genderless bathrooms on the second floor. Okay. So a 14 year old girl is going into the bathroom 1.00
00:16:42.060 with an 18 year old man. Okay. So we, if we do not win, the floodgates are opened here
00:16:49.040 and we have to protect our girls. It gives me full body chills because I have two little girls here,
00:16:54.860 but I also grew up here. It was a 15 times state champion, got to go to the university of North
00:17:00.260 Carolina because of sports. And we're taking away those opportunities for girls. We're taking away
00:17:05.920 the chance for them to even play like Dakota Ridge. All the girls that got cut, they don't 1.00
00:17:10.620 even get to play. As a competitive athlete, I only focused on the winning for a long time. I heard
00:17:15.560 Paula speak about changing in the bathroom 18 times a week with a 6'4 male. Or now I can't get
00:17:21.800 out of my head that these young girls are forced to change and then they're silent. It is not okay.
00:17:26.800 It is emotional abuse to tell a young girl that she has to change in a locker with a boy or she
00:17:33.080 isn't on a team because of a boy and to stay quiet about it. I'm upset about it. It just goes against
00:17:38.780 everything that I feel like our society spent a long time teaching women and girls, right? Don't 1.00
00:17:46.120 walk in the dark alone. Don't drink too much. Don't wear something too inappropriate. Don't,
00:17:51.500 you know, like, I feel like we gave women these, these almost guidelines and restrictions and for
00:17:56.300 good reason for their safety, right? Don't, um, if something goes against your gut instinct,
00:18:01.480 report it or let someone know and now we're telling girls to ignore it right pull your pants 1.00
00:18:06.100 down anyways and just shut up just shut up and just get undressed in front of the man and if 1.00
00:18:10.200 you feel like something's wrong about it you're the one who's going to be reprimanded like it 1.00
00:18:13.680 goes against everything i feel like we spent so long as a society teaching women building building
00:18:18.920 up women um megan again living there going to church there how do you feel like churches are
00:18:25.940 doing in leading their congregation when it comes to issues like 134 even prop 133 135 which also
00:18:34.860 have to do with protecting children right one has to do with the surgical and chemical mutilation
00:18:40.440 of children do you feel like pastors or spiritual leaders are leading churches have you what have
00:18:47.240 you seen so as far as the signatures i we really did a big push and it i wish it was easier because
00:18:54.640 I do feel like churches feel like they don't want to get involved. And it's very discouraging for
00:19:00.580 someone like me, because this is truth. You were born a male or female, and we need to teach kids 0.57
00:19:06.320 that you're born right in your body. And this is a biblical thing. And so it is kind of discouraging
00:19:12.400 when churches won't stand up. But I do have to applaud the Catholic churches here and Catholic
00:19:17.360 Vote. They, this weekend, spoke on it and told people to vote yes if you're a Christian or a
00:19:24.500 catholic and that is important and they gave handouts to everyone just to read about it
00:19:29.380 and my girls go to a catholic school and i just felt like that was really encouraging that they're
00:19:33.780 standing up for kids and they're doing what's right because in the end this is something that
00:19:39.040 has to do with truth and how our kids were born and they were born in the right bodies and we have
00:19:44.720 to make sure that churches are standing up this isn't political i know they want to say it's
00:19:49.220 political and churches sometimes get in that is this political is this not and i think this is
00:19:54.420 something that is not nonpartisan and this is just right or wrong yeah 100 well i mean it goes
00:20:00.740 back to the first book like he created them male and female um so it's it really is it's it's one
00:20:08.480 of the most i mean it's the most simple truth that we've known to be true since the beginning of time
00:20:12.780 since adam and eve man and woman right so um 100 paula do you feel like there's a
00:20:20.440 broader message like if colorado is able to get this done if they're able to to get enough people
00:20:27.820 to to vote and support voting yes on 134 do you think there's a broader message that extends
00:20:33.740 beyond just colorado maybe specifically to other blue states or even to purple states there there
00:20:40.440 are several like purpley states that don't have protections for women's sports yet like
00:20:44.860 pennsylvania for example so which of course is where you went to college so do you feel like
00:20:49.080 there's a broader message to be sent if Colorado can get this done. Definitely. And I think it will
00:20:54.280 show the Democrats how wildly unpopular this issue really is. Again, I hear all the time,
00:21:01.780 and I've told both of you this, I meet people all the time. I'm from a blue area that are like,
00:21:06.320 I hate every single thing that you believe and vote for. I hate that. But they are like, but
00:21:11.280 secretly don't tell anyone that I think this. I agree with you on this issue. And so I think it
00:21:16.380 will drop this from being a political issue, which mind you, I'm happy to vote for every single
00:21:21.820 candidate that's going to push this issue along in our favor, 100%. But this never should have
00:21:27.560 been something that's attached to a candidate. This is common sense, like you were just saying,
00:21:32.400 man and woman. It's so simple. It's so true. It's so basic. Why is this political? Why is it
00:21:38.800 political to say that girls deserve their own sports teams? And yet here we are. And so we have
00:21:44.320 to push this along. And so I do think it will change the conversation. It will change the tone
00:21:48.920 on this issue. It will be the first blue state that has this voted into law by the people on
00:21:55.200 the ballot on election day. And I think that it could just really make a difference on just
00:22:00.320 getting this issue to where we all know it is. This is common sense and this never should have
00:22:04.440 been controversial nor political. Private student loan debt in the U.S. is around 300 billion
00:22:10.780 with a B U.S. dollars, and roughly $45 billion of that is considered distress.
00:22:16.720 For a lot of people, that means one thing, feeling stuck with no light at the end of the tunnel.
00:22:22.240 Maybe the payments are too high. Maybe a cosigner is still on the hook.
00:22:25.260 Maybe every refinance option keeps ending in a no.
00:22:29.160 That's where Y-Refi comes in.
00:22:30.940 Y-Refi, they help refinance distressed and defaulted private student loans,
00:22:35.160 and they look beyond a traditional credit score.
00:22:37.440 They offer personalized solutions, flexible repayment options, one-on-one support, and in some cases, even the chance to release eligible co-signers from the loan.
00:22:46.040 Your student loan debt does not, and it should not, define your future.
00:22:49.960 If you have been carrying this burden and you don't know what to do next, you don't know what that next step is, YReFi could be the first real step towards relief.
00:22:58.520 You can see whether you qualify at YReFi.com or you can call today.
00:23:03.060 A better financial future could start with just one conversation.
00:23:07.440 Electrolyte brands are everywhere, so I get the skepticism,
00:23:11.840 but Realight stood out to me because it starts with the source.
00:23:15.140 It's made by Redmond, the company behind Redmond Real Salt,
00:23:18.320 which has been mined in Utah since 1958 from an ancient Jurassic-era seabed.
00:23:23.780 So instead of processed sodium, you get unrefined real salt
00:23:27.200 with sodium, chloride, and 60-plus trace minerals.
00:23:31.340 The formula stays clean from there, so that means zero sugar,
00:23:34.340 no artificial sweeteners, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, and no chemical preservatives.
00:23:39.960 You also get potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, and coconut water powder in the
00:23:44.920 flavored varieties. I like to use it before my workouts. I use it while traveling during a fast
00:23:51.020 or on busy days. It tastes balanced. It doesn't taste too salty or too sweet. My favorite flavor
00:23:56.800 is actually the watermelon lime. It is so good. If you want to try, you can go to redmond.com
00:24:02.900 slash hydrate and use code hydrate for 15 off your first order again that's redmond.com slash
00:24:08.360 hydrate using code hydrate or you can click the link in the description scan the qr code or check
00:24:13.260 the pin comment megan living there having your family there i mean you have roots there now but
00:24:20.360 i imagine you're left with this decision of like it feels like i would again i'm living in tennessee
00:24:26.340 which is very different political climate than that of colorado um but i feel like you would
00:24:31.320 be left with this impossible decision of, of, do I stay here? If I want what's best for my kids,
00:24:36.460 if I care about their education, if I care about their safety, if I care about their opportunities,
00:24:39.860 do we stay here? Is that something that you guys, you and your husband Dewey, is that something you
00:24:45.860 guys have asked yourselves? How, how do you make up your mind on that to stay and fight?
00:24:52.240 It really is something that is really stressful. I feel like pushing for this and fighting for this.
00:24:57.740 I mean, there are days where I feel like I'm like a little dizzy because it's so emotional for my
00:25:02.040 girls. I need to make sure as their mom that they have fair sex-based categories and then they're
00:25:08.860 not changing in a locker room with a boy, that they don't feel unsafe when they're playing,
00:25:13.560 that they don't get hurt while they're playing a sport. And this is a real, this is coming down
00:25:18.740 to something where we really are going to have to discuss. If they're, if Coloradans aren't
00:25:23.480 willing to protect something so basic that we fought for so hard to protect our girls' sports
00:25:29.160 and their spaces. I don't know if that's a place where I want to bring my girls up, unfortunately.
00:25:35.200 And I like to think that the legislation here doesn't reflect the voters. And this is where
00:25:39.840 we're holding the line and we're showing them, no, we're going to protect our girls' sports and
00:25:45.340 spaces. The legislation is not. So we, the people are. And I like to think that people are going to 0.89
00:25:51.680 step up and vote yes and protect our girls and maybe it's the people that are voting for the
00:25:56.620 democratic government governor or like Paula said we don't need this is non-partisan let's protect
00:26:02.900 our girls in Colorado this is basic stuff like protect our girls sports and spaces make sure
00:26:08.400 they have the same opportunities that we all did make sure that they're safe on the playing field
00:26:12.720 make sure we have sex-based categories I can't believe we're still talking about it but we are
00:26:17.020 and we need to win on Prop 134 here, or it puts an impossible decision. I live by my parents. I
00:26:22.560 live by my sister. I live by a bunch of friends and amazing people here. I do want to talk quickly
00:26:27.800 about how Protect Kids Colorado and so many different organizations, us Athletes for Action,
00:26:33.100 a bunch of churches, we all came together. And that's the silver lining in this. We all came
00:26:37.680 together to get these signatures. We're all making a big push. We're fighting all the way
00:26:42.420 through November 3rd to get this through the finish line. And that is the silver lining in
00:26:46.600 this, just like meeting you guys in this fight, like two of my best friends, you find a silver
00:26:51.040 lining in these things and you find the people who are willing to fight for girls and willing
00:26:55.960 to do the things that are right. And so I do feel good about that, that this has opened my eyes to
00:27:02.260 people in Colorado who are willing to step up for girls and to step up for what's right.
00:27:07.600 That's, that's good. And yeah, you make a good point. Like even if you're so disenfranchised
00:27:12.020 with Republicans and you don't want to vote for a Republican, which I would heavily advise against
00:27:16.240 because in a place like Colorado, not voting for a Republican is a vote for Democrats. It just is.
00:27:21.100 But even if that's the case for you and your individual beliefs and your thoughts and how
00:27:25.520 you feel, you can still vote yes on Prop 134. That is the clarion call. That's the point of
00:27:31.680 this episode. If you're in Colorado and you're watching this, share it far and wide. Yes on
00:27:37.140 134. Yes on 134. Yes on 134. And if you're in Washington, too, it's a yes on I-638. Yes on
00:27:44.460 638 yes on 638 i could not appreciate you guys you gals any more than i do um just your fight
00:27:52.360 and your resolve and your your willingness to do it because it does it's hard it's it's hard
00:27:58.220 i mean just the emotional toll it takes on you the mental toll the time um that you spend immersed
00:28:05.340 in these things obviously the on the ground effort with the collecting signatures um subjecting
00:28:11.280 yourself to hate and vitriol and anger and mean comments online, subjecting. I mean, you have to
00:28:16.680 imagine everyone could potentially roll over on your daughters. These are like objectively horrible 0.86
00:28:23.140 things, but even still, you persist. So I couldn't be more grateful for both of you. Thank you. Thank
00:28:31.520 you. Thank you. Any final things? Early voting begins now, right? It's on through when? And of
00:28:36.500 course, election day is November 3rd. Any final thoughts, Megan or Paula? Get out and vote yes
00:28:42.480 on Prop 134. Get your mail-in ballots in. Talk to your friends about it. Talk to people at school
00:28:47.680 about it. Be brave. Be strong. Protect our girls. If you see an ad voting yes, share it. Share this
00:28:55.500 episode. Just make sure to protect our girls. We are making movement here in Colorado. And if we
00:29:00.940 are the first blue state to have protection for our girls, I do think it will catch fire. And I
00:29:06.040 do think the rest of the country will start fighting back as well with the confidence knowing
00:29:11.580 that a very blue state was able to protect their girls so share it far and wide and other states
00:29:16.680 and let's protect our girls here my two daughters and every single female coloradan athlete boom
00:29:23.340 y'all are the best thank you guys
